great movie, 96 minutes long, starts in English so you don't have to switch it from Japanese, doesn't have those ANNOYING black bars at the top and bottom of the screen, fun image on the inside of the blu-ray case

For fans of 'My Hero Academia' I would absolutely recommend buying the first (and so far only) movie in the Anime series. No spoilers here in the review but just take a fan's advice and get this movie if you're a fan of the main show. The events of the movie take place right after Season 2 ends and before Season 3 begins so that's where you should probably watch the movie if you'd like the timeline of events to be in-order. Just watch the movie right after the final episode of Season 2 and you're all set! What I like about this BlueRay/DVD/Digital combo is that they give you that digital code for your Funimation account. You can watch this pretty much anywhere even if you don't have a BlueRay/DVD reader available, you can just stream it online once you redeem your code. The movie has everything you expect and more :) Now stop reading this review and seriously, GO WATCH IT! It's worth it! i rate this 5 out of 5 Deku's!

I bought this movie months ago from Funimation for the preorder bonus! I put in a nonexistent address so I never received the movie. I contacted Funimation Support with an explanation and the proper address months ago and they still haven’t given me a proper response or any items. My experience watching the movie in theaters was great so I been dying since last year to see the movie again! I decided to just order it from Best Buy and I receive i day earlier than planned! I watched the movie and it was great. It was a movie with wonderful animation, plot, and fight scenes. I always wanted to watch it with my little brother and I finally did!!

So my history with the My Hero Academia series is a mixed one. I knew of it coming across it on YouTube. And Crunchyroll and other anime websites. I decided I’d watch it one day and was hooked after the first episode. So fast forward to this year, and now we have 3 full seasons (with season four coming October 2019), a licensed video game and this movie. So what your getting out of this particular film is what makes My Hero Academia such a special anime. Especially given how anime has done the Superhero genre before. So if you’re a MHA fan definitely give this a watch. (P.S. The film’s events do take place in between season 2 and 3. It’s not major spoilers for the series. But I’d recommend watching up to season 3 at least before watching this film)

    In-Between Seasons Movie

This movie takes place between seasons two and three of the anime series. If you don't watch this; there is nothing in season three of the show that depends on the movie so you aren't missing anything. That being said, this is a great movie in the universe of MHA. It's what you'd expect, bad guy does something bad and good guys need to stop them. There is no character growth for any of our heroes from Class 1-A of U.A. High. The movie is enjoyable, the characters are obviously all likable, but they are the same at the end of the story as they are in the beginning. The only thing worthy of note is the introduction of Melissa, a non-quick scientist that develops hero support items. Melissa is Dave's daughter who is All-Might's best friend. It'd be interesting to see her an Izuku team up as partners in later seasons of the show. A potential ship? I don't know but the characters look good together in my opinion. Overall I'd say buy this, it's a great movie even if in the overall universe it doesn't do anything. I found myself getting goosebumps from watching Izuku and All-Might team up to fight the villain.

I love My Hero Academia, both the manga and the anime. So you can tell I was excited when the movie was announced and, after seeing it, I was amazed at how much it stands on its own from its original source material. The plot is great with each of the characters getting enough screen time, even for the new original characters introduced for the film. The action was amazing and kept things exciting throughout. Overall, I really enjoyed the movie and I think both fans of MHA and newcomers alike will like it as well!

    Does not break show continuity

Set between the second and third seasons of the "My Hero Academia" television show, "Two Heroes" maintains continuity with the base series. Animation quality and music ques are top notch. While the main characters of this film--All Might, Izuku Midoriya, and David and Melissa Shield--the majority of Midoriya's classmates who also show up on I-Island and have been placed there for the sake of having them there only. It is enjoyable to see the characters of class 1-A in action together, yet their inclusion is contrived. A handful of Deku's classmates do not contribute to the story at all, having a single shot or two of them sitting in a hotel room or cafe and nothing else. This film is guided by it's action sequences above character development or world building. The action is the main pull here, and while other story and character elements are undercut, "Two Heroes" is a fun romp within the "My Hero Academia" universe that appears to have little consequence on the main story leading into season 3.

The climactic finals are over, and U.A. is getting ready for the summer training camp. Deku and All Might receive an invitation from a certain person to go overseas to a giant artificial moving city called I-Island. This island, a kind of “science Hollywood” that gathers the knowledge of scientists from around the world, is holding an exhibition called I-Expo showcasing the results of Quirk and hero item research. In the midst of all this, Deku meets a Quirkless girl named Melissa and remembers his own Quirkless past. Out of the blue, the impregnable security system the island boasts is hacked by villains, and all the people on the island are taken as hostages. Now, a plan that could shake hero society has been put into motion. The man who holds the key to it all is the number one hero and Symbol of Peace, All Might.

Got this movie a huge fan of the anime and manga series. Was sadly not able to catch it in theaters but I still am glad it came out physically to own. The digital copy of the movie is through Funimation and I had an issues where my code wasn’t being accepted, but a quick email to Funimation a support and they got it working and added to my Funimation digital library account

This is a great Anime Series and this takes place after Season 3 - can't wait for the other seasons to come out! Its about a kid, who has always dreamed of being a hero and even though he's apart of the small percentage of people who don't have powers, it doesn't stop him from trying.

For their first movie, I consider this a hit. Animation is great (theres only 2 scenes where it was kinda meh that stood out to me) Story goes over a bit of All Might backstory. I don't know if this movie is canon but it can fit into canon easily. Music is great My only issue are the characters. Most of the cast are in the movie which seems kinda out of place. Especially since its suppose to be a high end place. Some make sense but everyone being in it is a bit far fetch. But that's just me being nitpicky. Overall it's a great movie for the fans

If you are expecting to get animation found in most other anime's with fluidity and a high budget, this ain't it chief. But if you are looking for the story that shows how and why the hero is a hero, this is good for the value and it includes a digital copy as well.

As an avid My Hero Academia fan, this is a perfect prepper for between seasons 2 and 3. It has all the expected details and a few new twists you wouldn't. I was unable to catch this when it was in the theaters for the short time and am thrilled it finally came out on video.

I originally bought this on itunes but returned it since I found out it did not have the original Japanese soundtrack. This purchase had everything, even a digital copy from the Funimation app that you can use to watch on Roku or Apple TV. Great purchase.

A fantastic addition to the My Hero Academia lore. Has everything MHA fans love about the series. My only minor complaints are that some fan favorite characters didn’t get much time & it felt like this could easily have been a 3 to 4 episode arc of the anime.

This is a great movie for this series. It doesn't push the anime any further along story-wise, but it's a nice side story for the characters. It's animated really well and has a really well told story. Lots of action. Great movie to go along with the anime.

Amazing movie, amazing action, amazing message. My hero is an all around brilliant and beautiful anime story that shouldn't be missed for anyone, especially the movie. The movie takes place in between season 2 and 3 but can watch it as a stand alone
