I recently bought this scanner for receipts and bills paid for the office of my tire store. It is pretty simple to use and it does scan the documents and pull info from them. I will say use caution with buying this if you are scanning things that are hand written because the scanner almost never accurately pulls that information. However typed numbers and words are picked up fine. It is a bit time consuming to do in front of customers but overall it keeps good records. I would recommend for anyone in an office trying to keep organized records.

Well I'm not sure if I love this product... I do like that I can scan all my receipts quickly and add them to my files. I just don't understand why my package included the premium neat for a year, but they Neat cancelled it within a month???? Very strange... I even try to contact them.. Had no luck...I think that the program for a year is very over price... The scanner itself is expensive.. I think before referring this item to a friend I would let the know everything... including the faulty statement on the box...

The scanner has issues with OS X El Capitan. Rather annoying...but the scanner works after reset and restarting the database. Hopefully the software issue will be fixed soon. The organizational database is easy to use and I like the expense report feature for my receipts for my company. It also helps with taxes.

I had one at work and it was the best organization tool, that I had to buy one for my personal use. I use it all the time and it is extremly helpful. I'm happy with my purchase.

I really love this scanner because it is so easy to learn and do. I love the way it stores everything in a database which allows you to easily back-up and restore your content. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good scanning solution for your home.

Easy to use and great for receipts that will fade.

This did not come with instructions on all of the benefits of using this product. emails are sent with instructions on what they think will help. I would like to control my learning by having a booklet wth all of the benefits and instructions. I would have returned it if I still had time to return.

System has opportunity with sync/cloud neat software. It not user friendly, to many problems getting it up and running. For stand alone scanning and keeping all scans on hard drive it works great. Search for documents with a simple work. I would recommend but know what you need first from the product to determine if this will work for you.

I upgraded from the portable version to the desktop version and it was well worth the purchase. No longer do I have to take a two-sided document and turn it over to get the second side; just insert the document or statement and the desktop scanner scans both sides at once. This little desktop scanner is quick and easier to use than using the printer's scan function. Plus it allows importing PDF statements for your accounts. It sometimes gets some of the dollar amounts wrong, but that is okay. It gets the job done in far less time than scanning from a printer.

The scanner seems to get a bit better with time, but the auto detect software is not all that they make it out to be. The larger problem is having to pay for software support ($70) and they don't answer their tech support phone. I have called 2 days in a row, they've hung up the line on me 3 times; and I am on hold right now (it's been another 35 minutes). I've waited on the phone so far over 4 hours, and they will still not answer. I would not recommend this product anymore. To be fair, I did need the support about 6 months ago, and they did help out then. I did wait about an hour that time, but they did help. The salesperson that sold me the software support said I would get "Priority" support; that is definitely not the case. Find another solution. I think I'll just use my iphone to take photos of the receipts - then transfer those to an external drive - then save those on a DVD per year, I will also save the history in an excel spreadsheet. I added a screenshot of one of the prior phone calls for your reference - I am still on hold now. It is great for organization to get rid of paper overload. It makes moving of information simple and manageable. This is my second Neat Desk Scanner.

This is my second scanner. It works well. I have had my first for three years now without issues. There are several small things to be aware of. First the scanner has a tendency to grab paper at a slightly awkward angle, so the scan can come out a little crooked. Second,if you buy into their cloud service (for a cost) it works very well. I choose to scan directly to my pc. the problem is you must point the software directly to the folder you want. anyone familiar with Windows environment know there can be a fair amount of drilling down to get the the folder you want ( a bit of a hassle). I am sure this is purposeful by NEAT. Other than that is works as advertised.

We replaced our previous scanner with the same one. The previous one began scanning everything with a yellow background and Neat Support stated they could not help us since it was out of warranty. The new one works fine but I am not impressed with Neat. I bought it at Best Buy because they will stand behind their products.

This product has simplified our expense reports tremendously.

I would give it zero stars if possible. I asked the manufacturer if I could use Neat without paying the outrageous monthly or annual fees. The answer I received was yes I could. Technically, their answer was correct, but the full answer to my question would be that I could use Neat only as a scanner, and save the document as a pdf. Unless you pay the monthly or annual fees, Neat WILL NOT extract info from the document to allow you to prepare spreadsheets. All it is, is a very expensive scanner which my all-in-one printer does, even better. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Would recommend to friends. Great way to get organized.

Great overall; although, some documents it doesnt quite "read" the exact wording. Very fast at scanning, though.

The neat desk is very easy to set up and use. I have converted all my paper files to digital.

Does all sizes of receipts speeding up record keeping
