I researched many types and looking for the right one for the right deal. Then this one popped up with a great deal and I decided to try it. It was very easy to set up. I like the ability to control the bot on the app. It's not perfect, it does get stuck from time to time. Overall though the bot works very well. It works over our tile and carpet surfaces. The battery lasts a good amount of time and it sends itself back to the base to recharge. You get alerts on your app if it gets stuck and when it is finished.

This is my second Neato Bot vac. My first was a Neato XV series. Before I originally bought a Neato I purchased a Roomba and returned it, it would go in random patterns missing areas. Then I found Neato and these vacuums work great. This new bot vacuums is even better then the older version. First it comes with lithium ion battery instead of Nimh batteries, which provides longer run times. Second it comes with a larger bin, third the brush is belt less. Now they have WiFi connect ability and a easy to use app. Just like the older models can be program to vacuum certain days, and times. Now with the app you can start the Botvac while your away from home. It provides great suction power, and maneuvers through the house well.

I wanted to like this vacuum. I did a lot of research and felt like I was making the smart consumer purchase by going this route over the Roomba, but I was wrong. First the pros - it cleaned the floor well and with that I would have been very happy to keep it, but the cons... Well it seemed to have an issue with shiny objects and navigation, namely our toilet. It got caught and kept trying to bump into the toilet and corner for over 15 minutes before I just felt bad for the little guy and turned him off. Next day it happened again. Perhaps an issue with the laser navigation and reflection of shiny surfaces? If you have chrome furniture thing twice I guess. The other issue was our shag are rug. The Neato kept getting stuck on it. Fair enough, it is thick, so I placed the magnets along the edge. It seemed to work on a test run, yet every day thereafter I'd find Wall-e (yes we named him) stuck on the rug. I tied moving the magnets further out, but it reached a point where we had an ugly mag strip 2 inches from the carpet before he obeyed. Sorry Wall-e, but back to the store to try your more expensive friend Eve (Roomba 980). We have yet to have any of the issues with the Roomba and are happy with the change. I think the Neato will work for many, just note possible reflective surfaces and thick rugs.

Best Neato So Far

This is my 3rd Neato. Previous to this one, I bought directly from the company, since you had no other choice. Very happy it is now at Best Buy, since I expect service to be better (as opposed to non-existant from Neato themselves). The other two were the XV models. One had it's "eye" stop working and the other never could seem to find its way back to the charger. So far, about 2 months in, "Roger" is doing a fine job. This is the first with the network and app, and the ability to get notifications and remotely set and control its functions is really a great advancement. Everything about this model is improved since the previous models. Lithium Ion batteries last longer before recharge, side brush gets more of the stuff it used to leave behind at the edge, and has a larger brush and collection bin, which my three cats can fill up pretty much daily with their fur. Also, all the Neatos can fit under almost all my furniture, which is a deal breaker for models like Dyson's Eye, even if you can afford or buy it anywhere yet. This kicks Roomba's shiny plastic ars. Best robot so far, and I make it work every day. The only thing i'm waiting for is when something breaks down, since it will. I'm hoping Best Buy will fill that gap of service that is so needed with these machines.

I love the Neato Connected.
The vacuum performs better than I thought it would. It'll clean about 500 sq ft in about 45-60 minutes (It can clean a single room in about 30 minutes). Picks up way more dirt than my old floor vacuum. I could not believe the hair that was still in my carpet after multiple passes!!
I'm also excited that it's been rumored that the Connected model will get the same software that's coming with their newer D7 model which isn't out yet (allows for virtual no-go zones, etc.).
I could not be happier with this model however. It works very well and is very easy to clean (the roller mechanism is very easy to take apart and replace).

Great on both hardwood and carpet w low pile. It does repeat its previously swept over areas, but map out very well. It will get stuck on string and stop to protect itself from breaking but stops in its current location when stuck. Turbo mode is a little loud but I give it great reviews due to a wife that would sweep and swifter a floor weekly chasing toddlers. She APPRECIATES it. So for me its a homerun.

Bought a second one of these after trying one out for a bit. I returned a much higher end unit from Samsung that seemed to have too many issues. These Neato Connected units just seem to work well. Cleaning is acceptable in our multi-pet home.
Connection to WIFI is easy. the APP is easy to use and the units clean the room in an efficient manner and even send you a text map when they are done showing the area covered! It finds its home base well. And they work with ALEXA and also report out to the Apple Watch! When you have more than one like I do, you name each unit and you can trigger them via voice (by name) from the ECHO. Very cool.

I have laminate flooring and 2 big Labradors. This vacuum is changing my life! The dog fur is our of control all the time as we allow our dogs inside. The Neato runs once a day and is keeping the fur completely under control. The only problem is if we forget to open a door that was previously closed it gets confused for a long time.

This is by far one of the greatest investments we have made. This robot rolls in to areas of your house that a standard vac could not reach (or you would think to reach). That being said, careful with such things as pets not potty trained, soft pet foods etc. otherwise, very easy to connect to iphone and both wife and myself can control from our phones. Best feature is a map detailing square foot cleaned at end of cycle.

Very Good Robot Vacuum

Pros:
-Vacuums Really well as a vacuum.
-It seems to have a system when cleaning and not just randomly going everywhere.
-Picks up stuck items like play-doh or small candies.
-When the battery is low the robot go back to charge station by itself, then go back to the area it was and continue cleaning.
-Side brush will pop off if it gets snagged on something.
-Will work in low/no light (which is convenient during the fall)
-Works great on hard wood, carpet, and tile.
-Does a good job picking up pet hair (for the most part)
Cons:
-You have to "prep" the cleaning area.
-Filter is not washable.
-Side brush will pop off if it gets snagged on something (I cant find mine).
-It doesn't seem to pick up medium size to large hair balls from pets
This is my first robot vacuum. I have been using this robot as a primary vacuum for a few months now and has been working extremely well. The vacuum seems to pick up everything, with the exception of some dust in curved corners. It cleans under chairs and couches too. The first time I used it it came back covered in cobwebs (like a Halloween decorated robot). I have a kid and it works really well picking up items that are stuck to tile floor like play-doh or a small candy. You do have to pre-check the area to see if their are items that the vacuum will get stuck to. Things like pulling out the chairs in the breakfast area or picking up toys. The vacuum has tank tracks and is able to tilt if it get stuck. However, if you leave something out like a toy, the vacuum tends to go over it, freak-out, and get stuck. Also it does not work on very high pile carpet. I have a "shag" rug and it jams on that rug. But I had other vacuums jam in that rug as well. Neato includes a magnetic strip to prevent the vacuum going into an area of your choice. However the strip does not hold very well and I'll notice the robot moving it around before realizing it's the magnetic strip. I have built a little fort for the shag carpet and use the strips when I need to do a specific area. The filter is not washable but it last a very long time. I let my friend try it out and he seemed to like it as well. He has multiple pets with carpet as his primary flooring. It picked up a large amount of hair. It didn't pick up some hair balls that were on the service of the carpet. However he told me that most vacuums he used were not able to pick up that type of dog hair. He only is able to get that pick up by a Dyson Animal or a high quality pet vacuum. Even with all the small issues, it has saved me so much time when cleaning around my house. Maids/Cleaning services charge $50 minimum for a basic cleaning per session (vacuum the house and wiping down counter tops). Even with replacement filters, it pays for itself in less than a year compared to getting a maid to come by twice a month for vacuuming.

We had a Roomba MANY years ago when they first came out which died 2 weeks after the warranty ran out, meaning we got no support from Roomba. That experience and the poor performance of the device while it was running left us soured on botvacs. However, I recently saw some reviews on the Neato Botvac Connected and was intrigued to see how far the tech had come. When I saw it on Best Buy's site at a discount I decided it give it a try. I received it, downloaded the app, named her Pasha (per the wife), set up her internet connection, charged her and set her loose. I have to say we're blown away by her performance so far. Our home is 3200 square feet on 2 levels and is all hardwood with area rugs in some rooms. We generally run Pasha through the whole house every day or two in 3 separate runs. She always ends up with a full bin of cat hair and dust after each run. This daily-ish cleaning has reduced the overall amount of dust in the whole house dramatically. Pasha has been able to navigate the whole house with ease and almost every run is flawless. We've decided to purchase another unit so we can have one on each level. We'll still pull out the Dyson for deep cleanings, but the Neato is perfect for maintaining cleanliness in between.

This was not our 1st choice. We had intended to buy the Neato D5 but we went back to get one they were sold out - but the store had just received a shipment of this Neato Botvac Connected, which was a more advance model on sale for less than the sale price of the D5 so we bought it. It cleans well and the mapping is a wonder to watch because it does not always finish 1 room before proceeding to the next - but then it goes back to the unfinished room. We have not been able to connect to Neato's Server - but will pursue that. We chose this over the iRobt Roomba because of the square-ness believing it will manage corners better & felt more comfortable with the brush versus Roomba's rubber.

The size of this vacuum allows this thing to get in under things that haven't been vacuumed for a while. It seems to learn an area over time and becomes more efficient. However its best you pick up the area and think ahead so this thing can do its best. It also needs attention after every vacuum (emptying the waste bin and remove hair from the brush) so it can work at its highest potential. You may need to use the magnetic strip to keep it away from certain areas it may have problems with. It is fun to watch and I am glad I got it, my house gets vacuumed way more often then ever before. I look forward to the future to improved technology but this is certainly a good start.

Brings the same pre scan intelligence of previous models, but now with wifi capabilities, an new upgraded battery and a map feature that shows analytics on where it's vacuumed and the time it took. Continues to be the best vacuum I've ever used, especially from the amount of dirt and dust it picks up. Has done far better than any stand up or steam vacuum I've ever used, especially from a pet hair perspective. And having the ability to detach the blade made for extremely easy clean up for anything that might up got caught For me it was a pricey investment at $700, but combined with the geek squad extended warranty, it was worth the dollar amount for the sake of future proofing. Definitely would recommend.

We always had dog hair and crumbs and stuff on the floor. Let's face it, dragging the vacuum around is not fun. This robot vac is truly remarkable how it cleans everything it can get to. The phone app is a must have. We have tile and carpet, there is no stopping this getting to every part of our floors.

Bought this for my wife and she really likes it. It sometimes seems to run around in circles or just doesn't behave how a person would while vacuuming. I does a good job picking up dirt. The main problem she has with it is the fact that it doesn't always reconnect to the charger when it comes home.

I bought this as a daily deal. Its intended purpose is to help clean up after our German Shepherd.
The Neato Connected does an excellent job of cleaning the carpet. I was also pleasantly surprised at its ability to get fur up off the laminate floor, its better than a swiffer or microfiber mop. We rarely have to get our shark vacuum out because the neato work as well as a standard vacuum. It easily cleans 900 square feet in one pass.
There are a couple downsides. First the bot occasionally needs power cycled because it will start doing weird things like attempting to climb walls, this is rare though. There is considerably more upkeep in maintenance like replacing filter and cleaning the brush. Despite this it's still a time saver. If the bot gets stuck it will beep loudly until fixed, you can't stop the beeping via the app. This makes it a pain if you run it at night like I do. All robot vacuums have the same weaknesses whether they are $150 or $1000, they can all be foiled by a stray sock.
This model is definitely worth the money that it is being sold for now that newer models are out if you can live without some of the super fancy features. Though there are some negatives to this machine I believe they apply to most robot vacuums and are easily mitigated after a little bit of experience
