It sucks real good. Gets pet hair, debris, dirt and dust all equally well. The wifi setup was a breeze. Would be cool though if you could control it like a drone with your cell phone. That was my only disappointment. If you could control it with your cell phone we would have bought 2, and made them into Battle Vacu-Bots. It would have been awesome, but alas, all I can do is dream...

The only huge problem with the bot is that it gets trapped in areas that have no space for it to turn around. But it does all the laminate and carpeted areas really well. It's better to use when you are near by to get it out of being stuck.

Botvac has been cleaning our house twice a week for a few weeks. It’s incredible. No hassle setup with the Neato app. Easy to use and program. Best part is that the botvac sends a map of the area cleaned after returning to the dock station.

I wanted to like this vacuum. I did a lot of research and felt like I was making the smart consumer purchase by going this route over the Roomba, but I was wrong. First the pros - it cleaned the floor well and with that I would have been very happy to keep it, but the cons... Well it seemed to have an issue with shiny objects and navigation, namely our toilet. It got caught and kept trying to bump into the toilet and corner for over 15 minutes before I just felt bad for the little guy and turned him off. Next day it happened again. Perhaps an issue with the laser navigation and reflection of shiny surfaces? If you have chrome furniture thing twice I guess. The other issue was our shag are rug. The Neato kept getting stuck on it. Fair enough, it is thick, so I placed the magnets along the edge. It seemed to work on a test run, yet every day thereafter I'd find Wall-e (yes we named him) stuck on the rug. I tied moving the magnets further out, but it reached a point where we had an ugly mag strip 2 inches from the carpet before he obeyed. Sorry Wall-e, but back to the store to try your more expensive friend Eve (Roomba 980). We have yet to have any of the issues with the Roomba and are happy with the change. I think the Neato will work for many, just note possible reflective surfaces and thick rugs.

Minor issues such as getting itself stuck...losing WIFI connection...stopped sending me notifications that it was stuck or complete. I have some recommendations...couldn't it have a 'beacon' in the charging base, so when you manually tell it to go home, it can 'find' it instead of having to 'know' where it is and then trying to get back home. Also the buttons on the top of the machine are not very user friendly. Beyond these minor items, the actual vacuum works great. Definitely would recommend it.

Smart Robot Vacuum

The idea of having a robot vacuum is cool if it is smart enough, otherwise, most of the time and effort is wasted if randomly cleans the house. From research and reviews, we bought this vacuum and true enough, this vacuum is one of the smartest robot vacuum out there. With its Laser Mapping ang Navigation technology, it can clean the entire house with precision. Its amazing how it can map your house floor plan and show the cleaned areas. It will also provide notification from the app that it is stuck and show you where it got stuck. It will also go back to the charging station once it is done cleaning - as long as it started there. If you started the vacuum away from its base, it will end in the same spot it started - again reporting from app that it is done cleaning. Overall experience is positive!!!!!

It is an amazing invention. Gets into corners, around chair legs and curves and really gets the deep dust and dirt. My home is large and sometimes it seems to redo areas versus moving on. At first it needed bin emptied to continue but as I use more frequently, no problem. Nothing is perfect but it cleans more than I have time to do and am very happy. Not for people who have stuff all over the floor because this is serious suction.

Cleans great and is easy to setup. I've had an issue with the unit getting stuck on bar stool bases. (just fixed by using the magnetic boarders to prevent future occurrences. I am really surprised at how good the unit cleans, picks up pet hair as well! (Can't wait to see if they ever develop a Neato AutoMopVac :)

Excellent for hard floors and low pile throw rugs

I read several reviews, consumer and professional before making this purchase. I have all wood and tile with several area and throw rugs with a large dog that sheds all year round. I was more focused on the robot cleaning the hard floors and throw rugs not the shag area rugs. I was very impressed how thoroughly this cleans, I have several obstacles on the floor (plants, stands, ect) and it went around everything, under chairs and tables in corners, literally hit every part of the floor. The machine had trouble with one area rug, it would get stuck on the rug and stop, for some reason it wanted to continue on this rug, I tried pulling the rug up and it still climbed on to it and got stuck. It did not go on the shag area rug which is much higher @3" off floor but cleaned all around it where pet hair usually builds. There are several low pile throw rugs which the robot completely cleans, all debris and hair. There are a couple places it would get stuck where the wall jets out on a step but they provide a strip which I used to prevent the robot from going there. All that said, you really just have to let it go a few times and see where it gets stuck and then work around, moving the obstacles or using the strips, its a learning process (took me about a week) but once you get it this thing works great, it cleans everything from the floor. The app and settings are easy, the map is helpful and was a simple hook up to Alexa. I was using my Dyson cordless almost everyday and there is no longer any need to vacuum the area more than once a week if that. I also had to put a weight on the dock, the robot would move it while cleaning and then was unable to find it to charge, a simple fix with the weight ..again learning process. It is not quiet it sounds not as loud as my corded vacuum but about as loud as my cordless. We run it while we are at work, it usually has to charge once to clean entire area which is about 800 Sqft.

We bought this thinking that it would be able to clean our floors.. What we found out is that it can clean you floors and does a nice job but you have to be very careful that nothing else is on the floor. It will get caught up on a ton of things, cell phone chargers, under beds and other locations. The product itself is great at what it does. It is not a set it up, and forget about it type product.

Did considerable research prior to purchase. Was going to buy a less expensive model without internet connectivity but got this on a good sale. Have owned for about 3 weeks and love the performance of this bot. Because of its ability to map out the floor plan, it is very thorough in coverage. Really impressed with its ability to get around obstacles and avoid getting trapped. Returns to charging base when needed, self charges and continues where it left off. While the wireless connectivity to cell phone app is not needed, it is useful when the unit sends messages concerning its status - trapped, need dirt chamber emptied, recharging, cleaning complete, etc. The electronic map of the area cleaned is a nice confirmation of what has been cleaned. So far, a great product!

The idea of a machine that vacuums your house while you are gone is brilliant! However, you better be prepared to "neato proof" your house so it does not get stuck. About 75% of the time it will get stuck and only do a small portion of the house. Oh and the magnetic strips don't work well underneath a rug. But, when it does accomplish the entire cycle it is amazing how much this little thing picks up!
In the end it does a great job.... when it doesn't get stuck

I did a lot of research between the iRoomba 980 and the Neato Botvac
Connected. I was sold on the Neato and do not have one regret. In fact, my first purchase was a Neato D5. The week after I made the purchase (Black Friday) the Botvac Connected went on sale at a price I could afford, so I decided to purchase that model as well and try them both out. The Neato Botvac connected won hands down for me. I think it has better response and more suction power. You also get the choice of an ECO cleaning setting as well.
I was skeptical about robot vacs since everyone I knew who had one said they were useless. Problem with them was they had cheap models and makes.
These Neato Bots work very, very well.
I am truly happy with my purchase.

This beats IRobot and Bob Petshair hands down

I had a Bob Petshair before, and have seen the Rumba at work at friends, Both have some kind of a random pattern to clean the house, and typically do not get a lot the aria, clean some of the spots way more often than others, and have really only a very low power suction.
The Neato on the contrary seems to be mapping out an area, and then system goes first on the outside perimeter, and then in mostly straight lines where possible goes from one side of the room to the other side of the room, and overlaps each run by about half its width. Doing so it does typically pass once in one direction and then n teh other direction over every spot. Also because of this logic it is done faster with an area than the other 2. Furthermore both Rumba and Bob had a little wheel in front of the brush and aspiration area that typically caught and accumulated our dogs dander. As a result after a while the robot loos their orientation, as that wheel serves to measure progress and direction. The Neato instead has nothing in front of the brush and suction area, and thus all detection and progress measuring things are behind that and thus in a clean area. ==> way less trouble and maintenance. I also observed that because it uses laser to map the room, it only in very few cases does bump into furniture, and when it does it slow down BEFORE doing it, so it does damage things (OR disturbs pets) way less/
One little additional item that might only be marginal.... to do maintenance on the Bob you do need a a cross and a flat screwdriver, and a spoon. For the Neato it is engineered so you do not need any tools. Every item is either held by magnet or a clip.
Summary:
- Double the suction,
- half the time working,
- less maintenance,
and at the end a map of all it has done.
Oh yeah, and it really does not get stuck and unless it is stuck under furniture, it can lift itself up to get over obstacles over 1 inch.

I am really glad I bought the Bot Connected. After reading lots of reviews, I decided to purchase this vac. I was a bit hesitant because my previous experience with Roomba was negative. This vac is so much more advanced than Roomba's offerings. First of all, I have different types of flooring in my home with transition pieces. Roomba always got stuck--100% of the times I ran it. This vac can clear my transition pieces effortlessly. Also, Roomba's random cleaning pattern always left my floor with sporadic dirt spots. This vac creates a map of the home and develops a strategic approach to cleaning, leaving my floor nearly as clean as if I'd done it myself with our Dyson. Initially, this vac got stuck under the middle of my bed (I have an adjustable air bed) among the air tubing. I tried rearranging the tubes to no no avail. It kept getting stuck there. I used the supplied magnet strip to section of that area and it has not gotten stuck in that area since. One day, I forgot to pick up a dog toy and that resulted in me receiving an "I'm stuck" message from Neato so I had to go free it up. Since then, the only place it has had trouble is around my Christmas tree after the presents were no longer on the tree skirt and that is only a problem for a few days. The reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is that the filters, while easy to clean between uses, need to be replaced relatively frequently and can become costly. I wish it were a permanent filter. Also, I have a modest sized house on a single story with two dogs that don't shed and still fill the dirt bin nearly completely full each time the vac runs (every other day). If I had shedding dogs, I imagine the bin capacity might be a problem.

I spent hours reviewing all the robot vacuums, and watching videos online. I was torn between the Neato, and Roomba. We have 2 dogs (Husky and Collie) and I wanted to make sure the vacuum could keep up with all the fur. I cannot compare this to the Roomba, since I have never owned one, but I can tell you I absolutely love the Neato!
The first time I tried to connect it to WiFi, it did not connect. I re-started the process and got it to work on the second try. While the robot was charging we went around the house and robot proofed the house. I picked up all the dog toys, and stray socks. We tied up all the extra cords for lights, charges, appliances. And we tried to make the house as easy to navigate as possible. You have to have realistic expectations when you buy one of these. There are some spots the robot is not going to fit. You may have to move a few tables/chairs so that it can navigate easier.
Once the robot was fully charged we turned it on, and kept a close eye on it to see if there were any trouble areas it would find. I was amazed at how easily it found its way around the house. Within about 20 minutes the app on my phone alerted me that the robots rollers needed cleaned. It found a pile of missing socks under the bed, and got one stuck in its rollers. We removed the sock and set it on its way again. We have about a 1 inch lip when you transition between the living room and kitchen. I thought for sure the robot would not be able to make it over the lip, but I was wrong, and the robot transitioned between the two rooms without any issues.
I run the robot every night when I get home from work, and I am simply amazed at how much dirt it picks up every day. I went from manually sweeping and vacuuming my house every other night to only having to spot clean about once a week. This thing is a life saver and I wish I would have purchased one sooner.

I read through several reviews of robot vacs ( especially the negative ones) and came to the conclusion that many are adequate or good for apartments without kids or pets. But I wanted one for a large home with 3 boys and a cat. This device is methodical and thorough. Does suck up almost everything ( obviously large objects don't fit).
Downsides are price, small collection chamber, and can get caught up on flimsy throw rugs. But so can any of the other robot vacs.
If you want cleanup of massive messes, you need a regular vacuum. For maintenance cleaning of daily dust, crumbs, fur, hair etc this device is great

This vacuum is great at picking up pet hair on our hardwood floors and rugs. I love that it connects to my iPhone to report in and shows me a map of where it cleaned. Or how it sends me an alert that it got stuck so I can quickly get it unstuck and get it back to cleaning. The turbo mode cleans like a champ. The eco mode is quieter but it doesn’t clean as well.
Now I’ve only owned this vacuum for a month and so far it’s been great. We own another Neato (Signature Pro) and the reliability was not there. Dead battery, not cleaning the whole house and the screen completely going blank.
Hopefully their quality has improved because so far I love this new one.

Once fully charged it cleaned the whole first floor (1700 sq.ft) without recharging and picked up a considerable amount of dirt even after just vacuuming with a highly recommended brand named upright sweeper.
