Customers are impressed with the Botvac D7's cleaning performance, navigation, and suction power, frequently praising its ease of use and mapping capabilities. However, some users experienced issues with the brush, Wi-Fi connectivity, and dustbin size, while concerns were also raised regarding the vacuum's long-term reliability and cost. The app received positive feedback for its user-friendliness. Despite some drawbacks, many appreciate the scheduling feature and the overall effectiveness of the dirt pickup.

Better than Rumba

This robot cleans great! I had a rumba and to run it two times a day in other for the robot to clean well. A great option that this model has is that if it runs out of battery goes to recharge and returns to the area to finish cleaning. Another thing is that you program the Neato to clean the area that you want.
A con: is expensive

Fantastic Vacuum!

Had a Samsung Cyclone and will miss the washable filter; however, this vacuum is so much better! They have improved Neato vacuums in the last 2 to 3 years; navigation is better and the filter is better as it is a deeper filter with a screen over the top of it. Run time is very good as it does over 1500 sq ft after redocking once to recharge but then goes back easily to finish the house (I just keep all the doors open so it can move from room to room). Navigation is excellent; doesn't ram into things; doesn't fall down the stairs. Finds the charging dock easily. (Only problem I've had was it doesn't do well with shoelaces :) ... so need to keep shoes with loose laces on a boot mat.) Highly recommended!

So far, very pleased with this robot vacuum. This unit has very good suction, is fairly quiet and navigates obstacles well. Once Felix (that's what we named ours) competes his cleaning it will show you a map of what he cleaned. We have two English Bulldogs and it picks up hair very well.

Great suction, Best robot for Low Pile carpets!

Neato is a great cleaning robot vacuum. This model can learn your house with one whole house cleaning run. After that run you can modify which rooms are which and then have the robot clean those rooms independently or grouped to your liking. You can even schedule them on a day and time and the suction power on those times. The brush bar can be a bit noisy at times, but it cleans hard floor and carpets amazing! It’s probably the best Lidar (laser-navigation) robot for cleaning carpets because of the stiff bristles on the roller. This actually cleans Low pile carpets better than Roombas since the bristles touch the carpets since the roomba rubber roller can only barely hover on the carpet fibers. Sometimes it can act a bit strange and seem confused but it is very rare. Overall great robot vacuum!

The Neato Robot Vacuum was a good buy. We originally purchased an iRobot 6 but it would not clean our shaggy throw rug. It also got stuck in every room. The Neato was also unable to climb up our shaggy carpet, but it does give a good clean everywhere else. The no go lines work well, so that comes in handy. It is able to clean my thinner throw rugs in the restroom, so that is a plus.

Works like a dream. Cleans under beds, tables, etc. Works from phone or tablet app and sends message if caught up. Programs its own map of Floorplan. Battery lasts 1.5 hours and automatically returns, recharges and goes back to where it left off.

I have use this d7 for 2 months now. it cleans very well. I had the samsung 7070 before I purchased it. this vaccum cleans better then the samsung, but I like the brush on the samsung a little better. the d7's brush gets a lot of hair wrapped around it. so I clean it every other time it runs just to make sure it will last. over all I really like the d7 and would highly recommend it.

The setup is a little bit cumbersome, as most apps based setups are. Would be a little difficult for older generation.
The robot cleans well, strong suction and battery lasts until full clean of 900 square foot. Robot has harder time going inside bedrooms, seems to get stuck easily unless your home is almost clear of any path impeding a robot of that size.

The D7 does our entire first floor (wood, carpet, and tile) every Monday and Friday while we’re at work. When I come home, looks like a maid had been to the house. Has great suction and even though the floors look relatively clean before it goes to work, the bin is always full. The virtual borders you can draw on the map in your app work perfectly. Great purchase.

This unit picks up dirt and hair very well, especially if the turbo mode is activated. It is rather loud though so I don’t recommend running it during movie night. Maps out it’s cleaning routes and sends you a map daily. Does tend to get stuck easily sometimes if a random piece of clothing or toy is left around.

The vacuum works well and picks up dog hair as well as dirt. It also is easy to clean the dirt from the filter and is very quiet for a vacuum. The ability to transition from floor to carpet is good.
The problems I have had are: 1. Difficult to get the floor plan completed. With a house of 2300 sq. ft. you need to run it on eco. mode so the battery will last. Setting up zones is easy once you have the floor plan. 2. The vacuum gets stuck in corners. We set the schedule to run at night and it does. First thing in the morning we look to see if it got stuck. It had. 3. It gets lost quite often. We would schedule it to vacuum the living room and find it in the office, lost and unable to make it to the base.
We have resorted to running it during the day so we can keep an eye on it. If you can work with it strictly for the vacuuming potential, great. If you really want it to be able to operate on it own, as scheduled, s is not for you.

This is my first robotic vacuum purchase. My cousin has a Roomba and I always wondered if its worth to buy such a robot. I got this on a sale and used it and fell in love with this robot. We used to clean the carpets and hardwood floor once in 2-3 months because of the effort it took. Now we run this robot twice a week. It works very well on hardwood as well as carpet. It has a brush and it leaves vacuum lines like any other vacuum. The dirt container is also much bigger than Roomba. Its unique D shape helps clean better on the corners. We bought an extra charger for the second floor. You will need it so it can make and store separate floor maps for each floor. Once it has the maps created, you can tell it to ignore certain areas on the map. This feature works great and something very useful for kids room. It does leave a few crumbs here and there. once it got stuck under a furniture and when I restarted it (since the battery died) it forgot where it stopped. But these negatives are very small. Sometime it leaves behind some dirt close to the walls and I run it again. It saves me and our family a lot of cleaning effort. I am very happy with my purchase.

I have a 3 year old connected BOTVAC, one for upstairs and one for downstairs; here are my comparison points:
+ go/nogo zones work great
+ this seems to have improved navigation, pretty sure it gets stuck less and gets lost less
+/= D7 has about 20 minutes more run time on turbo, note: original battery in the old bot, I do not remember how long the old battery lasted when new. May not be a "+"
= cleaning about the same
- D7 does not have on-bot screen, so you MUST have your smartphone with you-
- D7 does not have a sensor to tell when the dust bin is full; manual says empty after every run. defeats the set and forget utility.
the last two are cost savings. The bot is still 500USD, so the negligible savings drops this from 5 stars to 3 for me. Do your own math before deciding.

My last robotic vacuum was a Roomba 56o/562 which has lasted 10 years. I replaced it with the Neato D7 to help with the German Shedder puppy I have. The D7 has performed perfectly for the month I’ve had it. I contacted support about a problem with the side brush occasionally falling off. Support asked me to remove the brush and see if the magnetic pin which holds the brush on spins. It did until I put a little pressure on it then it would stop. They determined I needed to RMA my D7 and they would send me a new unit. The problem I have is they won’t ship my new unit until I return the “defective “ unit. I think at least in the warranty period they ought to do advanced replacement. The vacuum still works so I can still use it until the new unit shows up. I hope this isn’t a precursor to how the Neato vacuum holds up.

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave an honest review on your D7 Connected. Unfortunately the only other option would be a repair for your robot, which can take a few more days than a direct replacement.
We're confident in our robots and their ability to clean for many, many years, so we're confident your replacement robot will hold up.

Excellent maintanence cleaner. Can't do big stuff. Cool app and the lidar room/floor plan scanner is very cool. My only issue is that it drops the Wifi. I have a mesh network, so that may be the problem, but that been the only complaint.

This is our first robotic vacuum and we really like it. We have solid floors, with area rugs and a dog. The vacuum works very well and the ability to schedule zones is great. We have it do a couple high traffic areas everyday, with a full house job each weekend. Out of the box setup is very easy, just give it time to initially charge. There wasn’t an indicator that it was charging, so we left it alone and it came to life a couple of hours later. The app is pretty intuitive. I would recommend this vacuum.

The Kids Love Their Botvac

We own a Neato D80 purchased in 2016. We purchased the D7 as a Christmas present for the kids and they love it. The grandkids get a kick out of it too. Some reviews complained that there was some difficulty connecting to the Wi-Fi, but if you have savvy it should not be too hard. And we have purchased the Total Tech 4 year replacement program so they can always call the Geek Squad. One thing I should mention is that these need more attention than a regular stand up vacuum in terms of replacing filters and cleaning out the bin. Also be careful to only replace the filters and beaters with genuine Neato parts.
The kids were amazed at how much dirt these vacuums pick up.

This is about as easy as it gets for keeping your floors clean. I pick up anything off the floor that I wouldn’t go over with a vacuum myself, make sure I open bedroom doors, and hit the start cleaning button. It takes about a hour and a half for it to vacuum my house. If I don’t want to clean the whole house then I can use the zone cleaning feature to clean the areas I want. Great product that’s easy to use and keeps my floors and carpet spotless.

In my opinion this is the best overall vacuum. Before buying this the Neato D7 I watched several comparison videos on th leading robot vacs and bought several different ones all of which I returned within a week for various reasons (ie suction power, failure to connect and stay connected, and poor navigation system). With the easy to use app, perfect navigation and great cleaning ability. This vac will not disappoint.
