Love the room mapping covers every inch of the room not like the rumbas that just bounce off the walls and change direction. Wish it did have the self clean option like the rumba I did like that part other than that the Neato brand is a far better product.

We have used numerous robot vacuums through the years. We recently redid all our floors in wood, so the robots are great for getting up crumbs, fuzz, etc. without the need for a “deep” clean. Most robot vacuums are round with little “curb feelers” to get the corners. While this should work great in theory, it rarely solves the corner problem. I have always done a spot check after the run through and picked up the corner fuzzballs.
Enter the newer D shaped units. The “other brand” makes one too. We have one, and it does a good job. The corner issue is solved by the shape. The robot spins itself to fit tightly into the right angles and has enough suction to get the fuzz out. The Neato works the exact same way, fitting itself to corners and cleaning everywhere.
I did not think it would do a better job than our other D robot. It’s less expensive, not “the” brand. I was wrong. The suction is amazingly strong and pulls pet hair and fuzzballs from inches away. It simply does a better job at getting up ALL the dirt. The bin is a bit larger, still have to empty it manually, and the battery lasts through a whole downstairs cycle. Area rugs of any pile height are not a problem for the oversized wheels. It gets stuck in random spots for no reason and chimes for you to rescue it, but I have not had a robot vacuum that doesn’t do that. So the hardware and function is solid and in some ways (suction) superior to the more expensive brands.
Getting it on WiFi and setting it up is easy. Requires registration like everything else, but detects and connects quickly.
The mapping is simple and accurate. That’s one thing I always have issues with on the other one. Neato has simple mapping, with easy to add no-go zones. The software/app overall is a bit over simplified and not quite fully baked. It really is easier sometimes to push the physical button and let the thing run for now. The devs are working on it, but it’s not a rocket science robot just yet.
I prefer it to the other one we have for the one reason that it actually cleans better. The suction is better, the surface changing is smoother. No crumbs spilled out on the floor or fuzzballs left in its wake. Those are big issues and have led me away from robots the last year or so. This one seems to have that part down. Time will tell if it continues and if the software comes along to match the cleaning quality. For price and function, I recommend. Just remember, it’s a robot, not a miracle worker and you will need to actually run a “real” vacuum every so often.

The Neato Robotics - D10 wifi connected robot vacuum is a change of pace from the other robot vacuums I have been using. It seems that all of the companies have decided that round is the the best shape for a robot vacuum, well, until now. One thing you notice right away with the Neato Robotics vacuum is that it is only partially round. The front of the vacuum is actually flat. I don't know if that makes much of a difference, except it has caused this robot to get hung up in a couple of corners that the round vacuums have not had issues with. But, other than those two places, the Neato Robotics is able to go about anyplace you would need vacuumed. The Neato robot advertises that it is using Lidar to help it navigate and map your house, and it is a pretty neat technology. I noticed that just after one pass through the house, the lidar equipped Neato had already gotten off to a pretty good start at mapping the areas I want it to vacuum. There are also three cleaning modes that you can use with this robot, eco, turbo and max. I have only used the eco mode and even in a house with three teenage kids and two dogs sitting on a farm, the Neato robot has not missed picking up anything. I haven't had a need to try the other settings, but if you are using this vacuum in an exceptionally dirty environment, you may have need for it. The Neato has a HEPA filter that is supposed to capture 99.97% of the dust and allergens it picks up. The Neato also comes with two extra filters in the box. The Neato D10 is designed to clean up to 2700 feet on a single charge and it has not had any problem at all cleaning the 1500 sq ft area I have been using it in. As soon as my kids pick up their clothes, I'm gonna turn it loose in their rooms and see how far it can go. As far as the app goes, I am still learning how to use it. There are zones and no-go zones that can be marked in the app once the vacuum has mapped the area. All in all, this vacuum is extremely capable, has excellent cleaning ability, a super large dirt bin that is easy to empty and a nice big brush. I am not sure the app is as easy to use as some of the other brands, but I think that with a little time, this is gonna be my new favorite robot.

Super vacuum! I will be honest I had an issue getting my phone to connect but some quick chats with support it works fine. The suction is by far better than any robot I have owned. It is also much quieter than my last one. I was kind of expecting to have issues after reading about it but as I mentioned, it didn’t take long to be off and running. My house was mapped after one run and the battery still had 60% left after cleaning about 1400 square feet. What I like about Neato the most is that it does the best job cleaning corners due to the square front. Also the brush roll is wider so that means less passes and done quicker. The waste bin also holds more than competitors. I have a short hair dog and I had no idea how much I had missed with my upright until I emptied the bin. I would bet even if you had a couple large hairy dogs the bin won’t fill up before completed, assuming you empty after each job. The app is very easy to use and provides great info. My old Neato had to have magnetic strips laid down to stop it from going to certain areas but now you can just add “stay out” zones on the app. For the price and performance you can’t go wrong. I also have another popular robot that was twice as much and doesn’t do as good of a job. Neato has all the same cool features but better and half the price. Great machine!!

Upgraded from a d7 and i havent had any problems connecting to internet, it did take a minute to set up the first map, i think we had the base to close to something because it was confusing the machine, it would not leave the dining room even though we had an open floor plan, moving the base remedied that and its been used daily ever since

This robot vac has a ton of smart features and ran with almost no problems. It managed to get itself stuck in an awkward corner, which did not surprise me too much. I was actually more surprised that it managed to get itself into that corner than that it got stuck there. That's partly due to its maneuverability and power. It can get itself over low obstacles and keep going. It's also pretty good at mapping and keeping track of its location using its onboard radar. (I guess technically it's lidar, but whoever uses that term?) Once you have the map established it's easy to set up exclusion areas, so if it habitually gets stuck in a certain spot, you can just tell it no to go there. However, it did also manage to get stuck under a normal chair. There was nothing too particularly difficult about that location or scenario, it just managed to get stuck for no reason. That appears to have been a rare occurrence though. Mostly, it has run its automatic routines with no issues. I do have pretty thick carpet and a pair of cats, one of which can cover a chair with hair just by walking past it. This vac has performed admirably against both of those factors. It does have sufficient power to cover a very large amount of space without having to recharge in the middle of the job, and it did it fairly quickly. The app is straightforward and easy to use, though I don't like the fact that you can't rotate the map. That means that all the areas I set up are just slightly off. I don't think it has affected the robot reaching all of each area, it just bothers me from an aesthetic standpoint.

The Neato Robotics D-10 Intelligent Wifi Robot vacuum is like the Tesla of floor cleaners. After reading this review you will understand that perspective. First off let me just point out one common sense thing they did that apparently is not as common as it should be. Look at the “D” shape of the machine. The front of the machine is squared off. Makes sense right? You’re never going to get dirt out of the corner of a room with a round headed vacuum right? Well problem solved. This thing hits the corners way better, eliminating the need to go behind the machine with a broom.
So the Tesla comment right? Well this thing has some sort of laser sensor system they call LIDAR. It senses items and just turns away from them. It works well too. So if you have ever used a robot vacuum before they just go around running into things and tend to retrace the same path over and over leaving so much floor untouched. This one is not perfect, but man is it better than others I’ve used. And at the same price point mind you. This is just better. More accurate, not coverage and hits better angles. Also you can set up no-go zones to make sure the vacuum avoids areas you don’t want it to touch. I am still messing with this.
Oh, and it boasts a 300 minute run time? I didn’t try to even get close to that. I’ve had it run for two hours max, and it showed no sign of stopping. Supposedly that means I can double that number? I’ll have to try it and see.
Now it says it deep cleans, and frankly that’s just not accurate to me. It will not do what an upright vacuum will do. It does not have that level of suction. But I am not expecting it too, it’s a maintenance device, it is something to use between actual deep cleanings.
The Neato has a bigger catch bin and brushes than the one I had before. And frankly it’s just better all around. I wish it had a way to unload its own catch tray, but thats not the end of the world. The tray is larger and requires less maintenance for the user. But if it would do it on its own, that would still be better.
Overall I’m impressed and I’ve used three of these things over the years. Tech is making advances everywhere and this is just another example. Definitely with a look if you want a robot vac that works well on carpet and hardwood. I would definitely recommend it.

Let me first start with what I didn't like and the reason for the 2 start deduction - as a vacuum cleaner it's just average. I used it just before the time we vacuum every week and it still need some follow up cleaning with a stick vacuum. That in it's self is the only reason for the deduction - I know that this is never gowning to match what you can get from a full size unit but expected much better.
Now for the good part.
1. It's very easy to set up with the use of a mobile device - I will say it did take sometime to perform software updates and it required the phone to be close by. When you set it up plan on it using your phone for 20 or so mins.
2. It does a great job of communicating back with the app - the first time it ran it got tangled up in a speaker wire undeath the couch and was very interactive to let me know where it was. After I cleared that it search out the rest of the house without and problems. It did a really good job of mapping all of the go/no go areas
3. After the first full run the time to clean is pretty quick, the downstairs area of our house is about 1200 sqft - the first time as it mapped the floorplan it took about 45-50 mins, subsequent run fished in less than 20.
4. it does a great job of finding home - it reconnected to recharge every time
All in all it a pretty good system however will never replace the full-size vacuum

Vacuuming automation for my dusty home!

I have really come to enjoy and appreciate this robo-vacuum. Having had a pretty jaded experience with another brand of robot vacuum years ago (let’s just say it had to do with the smearing of my dog’s waste matter, yuck!), I was feeling skeptical about if these vacuums have come along far enough for me to trust them in my home again. This D10 from Neato seems to do very part of its job in cleaning carefully and thoroughly and so far, no gross incidents have occurred!
The setup of the vacuum was simple. I followed the included instructions, got the MyNeato app installed and followed the promptings to get the vacuum hooked up to it. In no time, I was up and running and the vacuum was going full speed ahead in cleaning my kitchen and living room! These areas are particularly high traffic areas for my family, so I really wanted to start by seeing how it would respond to the ever-changing positions of objects like dog toys in the rooms and to the constant influx of dirt and debris in the laundry room that is the entrance from my garage. This little go-getter of a vacuum has held up to all of it so far!
Altogether, I would keep an eye out for sales on this vacuum and pick one up if you are on the fence! I have been impressed with it so far and I think based on my research that it might be the upgrade over older models in the Neato lineup that many would-be customers are looking for! Thanks and good luck with your purchase!
