Great Vacum

We have had this vacum for about 6 weeks and are very pleased with it. Of course with anything there are little quirks such as the vacum getting stuck under the couch or not making it back to the base before running out of battery, but very minor. I have since solved the couch issue and the problem not returning to the base has only happened twice. We set it to run while at work every weekday and we love how clean our tiled floors are. We have one rug and it has no problem going from rug to tile. I am actually amazed how much it picks up. I have had a roomba before and I feel the neato is much better product.

I have the Neato XV Pro and it is FANTASTIC. It is much quieter than my regular vacuum and cleans MUCH better too. It gets in all the corners and best of all it leaves nice vacuum straight tracks (for that just vacuumed look) instead of the round chaotic circles like the Roomba.
Sometimes when my friends come over they actually ASK me to run it because they are entertained by it. I have very odd friends. LOL Like most people who have the Neato I have named mine because it is almost like a little thinking pet. In fact, if you have reason to call their AWESOME customer service most of the Customer Service Reps will ask you the name you have given your Neato. Cute idea.
This is my second Neato Vacuum. My first one was the Neato XV-11: The first one I named Mr. Ed. This one I have named Mr. Ned. I am just so imaginative. LOL
I have some back issues so vacuuming was literately a pain before the Neato... now I have really clean floors and no pain at all.

Good Idea, Not So Good Execution

When this works, it is a wonderful thing. It requires more adjustment to keep it going than I would have expected.
It constantly asks to have it's dustbin put in, and about half the time, it stops somewhere in the room, dead, and then I have to re-set the clock.
Actual cleaning is good, but I'm never sure if it's going to go.

Purchased this vacuum a little while ago. Lately I have been running into some issues though with the dirt bin coming loose and the vacuum not completing its rounds. When the vacuum works though it does a great job.

It was interesting to watch the bot make its way around our house and furniture. Its "streamlined" algorithm would work great in an empty room, but doesn't seem ideal for an actual living space. At any rate, it does get around multiple rooms and picks up lots of cat hair and other stuff, even if it does occasionally retrace its path and cover the same area twice.
It transitions easily from wood floor to tile to rugs. I haven't used it on a fully carpeted floor yet. It hasn't gotten stuck under any of my furniture yet; it seems to back itself out of tight spots fairly well.
It is also rather loud, so it's hard to be in the same room watching television or listening to the radio while it cleans. And after a couple of hours of running, it has to take a break and recharge before finishing the cleaning job. The recharge cycle is a good time to clean the dust bin & filter.
Overall, I'm satisfied but not overwhelmed. I'll keep it and use it a few times a month between my housekeeper's visits just to get the cat hair off the floor. =)

We were worried how it would do going from hardwood floors to carpet and then over thick area rugs. It does Awesome and has meet our expectations. Runs everyday for about an hour then needs to be recharged. We love it and use it everyday. I haven't had to use a lint roller since we purchases this unit.

Typical robot vacuum

We purchased this because it was a little less expensive than the Rumba. I did not quite last a year and had to be replaced. We replaced that replacement with a Rumba and that had to be fixed within a year. I don't think any of them are built to last more than a year. It seemed to have a more organized tracking system than the Rumba which seems to just go off in all directions. Would recommend if you really need to have a robot vacuum. Otherwise you are better off putting your money into a good regular vacuum.

Perfect vacuum for a quick job! Had for about a month and so far it's done great. With two dogs in the house, a Pomeranian and a Husky, it really picks up a lot of hair plus it beats vacuuming everyday myself.

I was hesitant to get a robotic cleaner, but I read some good reviews about this model. My kids and I got it almost as a "gag gift" for my wife, since she is the neat freak, and it's become one of our favorite appliances, toys, friends, ...whatever.
1. This will NOT replace your regular vacuum, nor will it pick up large pieces of trash. This is a maintenance robot, which will keep everything clean and dust free.
2.) The Neato Robot will reach into corners, which the Roomba cannot.
3,) It is SMART. The computer scans the room and determines the most efficient path to clean each space. This saves you time and recharging. It will stop before stairs, it will make multiple approaches from different angles to get over a thick rug, it will meticulously work AROUND obstacles (like chairs) to clean everything possible, and it will notify you of any problems (full dust bin, obstacle, something caught, etc...)
4.) This is a programmable robot. It can vacuum every day at a set time, even when you're not home.
5.) When not in use or in need to recharging, it returns to its home base, backs up, and charges itself.
** This is a GREAT gadget and maintenance friend to have. There is something cute about watching it problem solve its way around the house. It's so Germanic in its efficiency that we call ours "Gunther".

wow wow wow and upright vaccuum

I have had this for almost a month and people let me tell you, the dirt bin when its finished vacuuming contains the same carpet fibers, hair, paper pieces, cereal, and anything else you usually find in your upright vacuum, this neato is amazing!! It blows that tazmanian devil Roomba out of the water. When this neato vacuums my carpeted areas it looks like i vacuumed because of its forward and backward path. I love that if its battery gets low it docks itself and recharges (usually 45 minutes) and then goes to where it left off, simply freakin amazing. Yes i had the Roomba and its tazmanian devil movements and it never picked up what this neato does, in fact my carpet when the Roomba left tracks looked like my kids had been playing around with my office chair rolling it around all over, and the carpet never got fluffed up. The neato looks like someone vacuumed. The only thing about neato is there is not side suction, so a crumb that is by base boards it will not pick up, but it will suck up hair from the edge, but i would not hesitate to by another one just because of that, sure the Roomba has the spinny foot but it would just flick the crumbs across the room and you would get lucky if it picked it up later in its crazy cleaning pattern. Just try this neato and ignore all this battery issue i read about before buying, mine is going strong and no problems what so ever, it runs everyday on 2200 sq ft of floor, it came with two brush rolls, but i only use the one with the bristles, which are the same quality as what is on vacuum cleaners, stiff enough to get into your carpet, they don't just sweep whats on top of carpet like the Roomba does. If i had the money to buy another one i would for my upstairs, but for now i just carry the neato up there. Great on thick carpet, tile, and wood floors.

Robot vacuums are a great thing. Don't waste your money on a neato as mine broke and when their support sent a replacement under warranty, it arrived DOA. Now support won't return emails. Don't have buyers remorse, buy a Roomba!
