The car selection, visual customization, and story and world are all great, but even on the easiest difficulty, it feels like its on hard. This is due to the totally hard and unfair tuning difficulty. See, the games races and events have suggested car levels for each of the 5 car types, "Racing, Drift, Off Road, Drag, and Runner", and to keep up with the NPC racers, you need to upgrade the mechanics of your car. The only way you can do this is by winning random Speed Cards which give you certain parts to make your car faster and better, but its totally random and more often then not, you get a card that either takes away horsepower or nitros for more speed or better beaks, or doesn't give you anything worth wile, you "CAN" buy instant upgrades for your "CURRENT" car, but they cost an arm and a leg and they only apply to the car you're currently driving, so you keep returning to your garage and then traveling via road or fast travel, ( which costs money to use ), to buy parts that cost more then the races and other events pay out. This is especially a pain when you just bought a new car...and have to upgrade from point a ALL OVER AGAIN...So you constantly have to grind, and grind, and grind to get anywhere. So if you really want this game, get the standard edition, then wait for it to go down in price, because I spent 80 on this, and it ain't worth the frustration. 3 out of 5 for me....

Great game and really good cars and mods for them. The performance mods are great and give you loads of options. Game play is good as each car drives and performs different. That is Great. Now for us who want the chases, well they come in the form of a race. What? Well that is how it is placed into the game instead of random acts that trigger the police well now its placed in the events. My opinion BAD. I do love the game don't get me wrong, I'm glad they are going in the right direction. Also the movie was bad leave it alone don't try to fix a bad movie in the form of a video game.

Ive been waiting like 10 years for a good need for speed. I think this will be my last purchase of the series. I like the direction they took with the game being extreme arcade raciing. The story is cheesy which might turn people off. This game is open world but its lifeless. If im free roaming I should see traffic which is hardly there. If im doing illegal driving I expect to get reported and chased. It does not happen at all in free roam. Customization in this game is good. EA took an extra year of dev time to make this and it shows no effort. I cant recommend people buying this game to be honest.

Good buy. Graphics are okay. Open world is fun. Gameplay and story is okay. Decent car selection. Could use a little work though some parts of the last need for speed were better.

This game takes awhile to get good! You have to get through the beginning of the game and the cut screens are a lot less! AND UPGRADE your car so it handles!!!

If you liked playing paradise city you’ll like this game. Paying the extra money for the deluxe wasn’t really worth it though.

I have always purchased every single title Need For Speed has released... the last couple have really let me down from the original series (where they had made online police chases exciting)... I think the story line has gotten a bit better, but overall gameplay feels like it's way over done with being unrealistic! Maybe I'm very use to playing the Forza franchise, but with this game you can literally be going 100+ mph & hit the handbrake to turn on a dime! News flash...a vehicle couldn't do that even with the greatest driver in the world behind the wheel! Very frustrated...i would stick to Forza if you want realistic...buy this if u just don't care!

Plenty of things to do along with great lookings cars. The customization has gotten much better and in depth and makes for even better cars to make your own with more options and cars. I bought the deluxe and it even came with a nice steel book case.

It reminds me of undercover but way better physics and better voice acting with a better story line. Cars are easier to drift.

I bought it because I love the need for speed series. I very much dislike the main character and his cockiness. The modification of cars can be confusing. Characters overall are a cheap attempt at fast and furious.

Growing up NFS games were always my favorite and preferred them over grand Turismo. But the last few NFS have been anything but great to me. This one definitely made a come back although the acting is pretty awful that doesn't effect the game and the driving and customizing of the cars. One thing I wish they would make apparent would be that AWD cars actually spin all 4 wheels and not just use rwd but nonetheless it's a great fun game I enjoy it

Best Need for Speed so far. Great cars. Great story line. Great handling when driving. Technical driving but not to the point where they take the fun out of building and tuning your car if you don’t know specific mechanic lingo. Great game for all beginners or experienced gamers

I was excited to play this game. Trailers were awesome and I was excited. Played it for 2 days and I got bored. The progression system sucks having to play the same mission over and over to be able to upgrade your car and move to the next mission. WTH!! Luckily I got the steel book which now serves as a display in my collection of games. The only great part of this purchase!
