Followed everything correctly, game is installed fine. When i try to launch the game it says sign into EA download manager, which is now origin. That is what i was using.

I was so confused when people said this game didn't work. I was convinced I had to do work on the game, but I went on origin, activated my key, and it works just fine, ZERO problems besides minor glitches that comes with the game. I have always loved this game, and I just see these reviews steering people away from buying it. I needed no fixes, im not sure if anyone else will, but all you need to do is download origin, activate your key, download the game, and it will give you an installer separate from origin from the game. Install it from there, pick your settings and then you can just click play. Since its an old game, I had to tweak my resolution and graphics, but thats it. There is one glitch which is the continue button sometimes not working. When you complete a race, don't click continue until all the points and cash are all loaded in. Otherwise, game works perfectly!

The first thing that I'd like to say is if you're wanting to play this game I'd suggest getting the physical copy of the game not the digital copy. The digital copy has a lot of problems to work through unless you're a computer nerd like me. With that being said, this game won't work right out of the box. It will require a lot of tweaking, and EA, Origin, and Best Buy tech support won't help you. Luckily, I've provided instructions for those who want to use this digital copy. Here they are down below (note: this works for Windows 10 Pro). I also want to mention this is only for those who have legitimately purchased the game. It isn't for those who have pirated the game. Go ahead and download and install the game from Origin. Once you do, google "Need for Speed ProStreet No CD crack v1.0 (version 1.1 won't work). There are plenty of places to download this from. This will allow you to start the game outside of Origin because this game won't launch from Origin. Extract the launch icon from the No CD crack file. Locate the game folder. It should be under C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Need for Speed ProStreet (this location can be different depending on your computer). In that file you see the application launch icon named "nfs.exe." Please copy and save this icon to another location (just in-case); then, take the launch icon from the No CD crack and copy (and overwrite) it to this folder. Once you've done that you can also use that as a shortcut to launch the game. However, don't launch the game yet. You'll need another patch before starting it. Next you'll need to go to pcgamingwiki.com. From the search menu, type in Need for Speed ProStreet. Click on the link for NFS ProStreet Generic Fix. Download the file and and extract it. Then, copy and paste the "scripts" and "dinput8.dll" files into the game file (the one mentioned above). After that, start the game from the No CD crack icon. It should start; however, you may have to adjust the resolution. I hope this helps some of you out there.

This game doesn’t even work I bought it and have downloaded the origin thing like it tells me and when it’s done downloading I launch the shortcut and it tells me to sing in tot he wants server and I do and it just crashes and tells me I need to sing in to the ea server but it doesn’t let me I already reinstalled it but nothing just a waste of my money and time

I had no issues getting the code. It was sent to my email in about 10 minutes, the usual with BestBuy codes. I highly recommend watching 77Vids video on YouTube called "How to Install NFS ProStreet on a Windows 10 PC | Classic NFS PC Install Tutorials". He walks you through the install process and links the mod that fixes the crashing problems as well as other bugs. Game runs and looks great. Sometimes it just takes a little work to get 15 year old game running on modern PCs.

Loved this game when i was younger so i bought it for my pc and it workd great.

Takes some effort, but got it to work. Yes, initially it will say "launch EA download manager to verify ownership". I'd like to thank the reviewer that wrote "So Many Hoops to Jump Through". Their instructions allowed me to successfully install the game.

In line with other NfS titles, it brings back memories from the past. Was looking for a cheap racing game, this is what I got. Graphics are not up to date anymore, but I didn't expect otherwise.

Purchased the game and found out it doesn’t work with the Origin/EA downloader. Followed instructions, downloaded, installed, and the error message comes up that the game is not “verified” with EA. Spent countless hours on EA support via chat, phone, and email. No one has a solution. And to top it all off... Best Buy doesn’t issue refunds for digital content. $10 down the drain.

I wish i would have read the reviews before hand. game is not compatible without a disc as origin does not support it. i spent several hours with the ea help desk just to go through the ringer trying to get this game to work, only for them to tell me that i needed a disc and that origin does not support this game. now to try and fight for my money back.

I got it installed on windows 10 without any issues. My only issue with this game is that the rumble does not work with the XBOX One controller. I'm not sure how to enable it. Runs really good on RTX2070 Super! Graphics are amazing despite that the game is over 13 years old.

Do not buy. You will get a code to download it via Origin, and when trying to start an error will show saying please login to EA Download manager to verify ownership.

Can't play this game, EA says its a older game they don't support anymore so they cant help you if you buy it here. You can download it but i get an error saying I need to verify ownership which I have tried multiple times to no avail. Waste of money.

Broken. So many bugs because EA can't every properly make games.

This NFS title was the first of many closed coursed based Need for Speed titles and it was good at it. It was one of the first Need for Speed titles I played. The game consists of various types of racing including: grip races, time attack, speed challenges, drag, and wheelie competitions. There are kings for each Grip, Speed, Drift, and Drag who serve as bosses for their respective modes, defeating them will have you challenging the Showdown king who serves as the "final boss" of the game. It is noted that the game is redeemed via EA's Origin client and is likely one of the last places besides Amazon to score a legitimate copy of the game with Origin itself removing the game from their stores. However, with the liquidation of EA Black Box, this game has been reduced to abandonware and as a result will no longer work without a bit of effort. Support for the game via EA is meager and unreliable so the solution to getting the game up and running will be find in the consumer base. In my experience in redeeming the key from Origin, it was recognized and added to my game library but upon downloading and installing the game, it could not be opened because of EADM (Electronic Arts Download Manager). EADM is a drm which predates EA's Origin client and renders the game likely inaccessible/unplayable. Despite this, the game is playable given the you are willing to put in the effort to do so. I would rate the game itself a 5 because of the quality and amount of content the game has but will leave it at 3 because it requires a considerable amount of web surfing to get working.

Keeps saying to verify ownership through Origin, which is where I launched the game from. Save yourself the 10 bucks and don't bother buying
