I have used Nesco dehyrators for many years. My primary unit finally gave out after about 30 years of frequent use and I purchased this model.
I could not be happier with it! The new Gardenmaster is a bit larger than my old unit and came complete with 8 trays, 8 silicon mesh and 8 liquid trays. I don't think any other brand gives you so many inserts and all parts are premium quality.
I dehydrated dill pickles, grown them into powder and they became a very delicious condiment for burgers and fries - try it!
3 batches of kale also became a wonderful powder - no cutting required! Just wash and go, even stems became perfect for powder.
Zip - so easy! This is a wonderful product and I know that the brand will give you many years of great service!

I bought this in an effort to make crunchy salty snacks out of otherwise uninspiring veggies. I have met with some success, making some nice snow peas and crunchy (really) cucumber chips. Be prepared for it to take a long time: 6 to 9 hours or even longer for things like raw green beans. I'm not really into fruit rollups, but this has everything you need to do that. Stackable trays are very nice for doing lots of stuff at once. Downside is that it is a little loud, so it is ideal to run in a back room where it can be out of the way. Advisory: I see lots of people say that the trays do not fit snugly onto the base. This was true of mine as well, but when you turn it on and heat it up and keep more than five trays on there (which the instructions say is mandatory), they will fall perfectly into place.

This model came with 8 trays, 8 jam roll sheets, and 8 small fruit inserts. It does not have a timer, but I found that their timers only give selected times, not very flexible. Found a digital one at HD for about $15 that you can infinitely program for up to a week. Problem solved. Have done a bunch of items with excellent results. Looking forward to doing more!

This Nesco - Gardenmaster Food Dehydrator has several options. Not only basic dehydration but also Jerky and Fruit Rollups. The nice things is the trays for doing these other types of processing are included. It also has a larger motor then most at with 1000 watts of drying power. 2,400 RPM motor Motor 2,400 RPM.

So far, great product. My only gripes are:
1. The trays came warped. I contacted Nesco customer support (who were really awesome) and they told me the fix is to run it on max temp for 1hr. This worked to fix the 2 bottom trays but not the other 6. So I'll rotate the trays until they're all flat. TBH, dehydrating is a DIY hobby so I don't mind DIY'ing a fix that was likely an honest mistake on the production side.
2. The fan is loud. I think this is pretty normal for dehydrator though
Otherwise, it's a great product so far.

Only used twice, so far.
One of the best purchases I have made.
Easy to clean, soaked in a sink , dawn and water for avout an hour and wiped clean. Whhere other grates were brutal. That alone is well worth the purchase.
Made jerky and came out perfect. Machines a little loud, but i just turned the tunes up.
Also dried peppers. Did it over night
(In basement so we couldnr hear it whole we slept) and it was ideal! Highly recommended

I like the large size, the sheets for smaller drying items and that its made in the USA. The first one I purchased only worked once, half way through making jerky, before it started making a terrible noise and quit. I took it back to Best Buy and replaced it with another of the same. It has been working fine so far with no problems.
