First off I love my Google Nest items and thought this would be the perfect companion. So first the PROs of the device. Just plug it in. That is it. Just plug it in and you are done. Setup is that easy. Now for the CONs: You have NO control. The unit won't let you change WiFi channels. It simply selects the one it thinks is best for you and does the rest. There is no web page to log into to over ride default settings. It just does the WiFi part for you. You may still have to configure your router. And of course mine opted for Channel 1 and there is no way to change that. The good news is that this thing is POWERFUL!!!! It kicked my neighbors who were using the default of channel 1 clean off. Not only did it kick my neighbors off channel one, it kicked off many of the distant ones as well. Now I am the only one on channel 1 and everyone else is using other channels. So why would I only give it three stars? Well I am a tech guy and I like having the control to put it where I want it and not have it treat me as if I am a newb. That said I have no complaints about the WiFi aspects of it. Google needs to work on the Assistant. It's still not ready for prime time but neither are Siri or Aleaxa. My biggest beef with all of them is that they won't let you change the Assistants name and the documentation for Google does state that it has a problem with dogs named Boo or Boo Boo. No, our dog's name isn't Boo. It's Blue which seems to be close enough. Get with it Google! Fix the Assistant NOW! Google assistant is pretty nice when you get used to speaking slowly. Too bad these are outdated and I need to blow another $399 to upgrade. Oh and yes they are FAST so not sure I need 6E especially now that WiFi 7 is out.

I've had the Asus Ac 5300 for about 2 years. Great router for gaming, but doesn't cover the 5,000 sq ft that it advertises. Maybe it does, but my walls are insulated with foam and I was hardly getting a bar in my garage area (2900sq) to connect my 2 garage doors to wifi. I made a decision to buy another Asus router to mesh. I bought the AC 2900 and it really changed the game, but now I was about $500-600 invested. The routers didn't look attractive at all since we moved to a newer modern home so I invested in these tiny Google routers and boy are they a game changer. Now I don't worry about updates or any problems what so ever. I am very glad I finally made the move to this new system after many years with Asus. They are worth every penny and more! I highly recommend these to anyone that wants superior wifi coverage and speeds.

We were looking to extend our gigabit wifi coverage and already owned the previous generation Google Wifi mesh extenders, so I figured upgrading to the Google Nest Wifi made sense as the old version had served us well. These newer ones perform as advertised: stronger coverage over a wider area thanks to the updated hardware in the current units! We upgraded to whole home security cameras, so I wanted to ensure we didn’t see any dropouts or higher battery drain due to poor wireless speed/strength, and so far I’m happy to report they are working out great. A big positive for me was the hardware microphone mute for these units. Honestly I would have preferred being able to buy these without the built-in microphone/voice assistance feature just out of privacy concerns, but being able to disable it manually on the hardware itself and see the LEDs on the bottom of the points change to Orange/Red to show the mic is disabled once you flip the switch is handy. The biggest negative I have for these was that the setup was not flawless, and even required me to reach out to support as it wasn’t anything that could be fixed through standard troubleshooting like power cycling or doing a factory reset and redoing the network setup from scratch. The other issue I had was trying to add my old google wifi units as access points since their documentation notes the old ones could still be used as long as you didn’t try to exceed their recommended “limit” of having no more than 5 access points connected to a single router. After factory resetting the older units and trying to add them to the mesh network, I noticed considerable issues with signal degradation as it seemed like it was actually introducing interference rather than boosting signal coverage in other areas of the house. The new Google Home app that lets you control/monitor your network is pretty good overall as well, aside from returning a lot of “Unnamed Device” names for the hardware found on our network - I don’t recall the old “Google Wifi” app having the same issue. Slight negatives aside, I am still quite pleased with the newer Google Nest Wifi mesh router and access points - the speeds are solid, they transmit fairly well throughout the walls and home in general, and aside from the initial setup hiccups, they’ve been performing flawlessly ever since. Overall, I’d highly recommend the Nest Mesh router/points system and since the rating system doesn’t allow it, I’d note that if possible I’d give this one 4.5 stars out of 5.

Everything runs smooth however being that the 1st gen had ethernet ports at each access point and this gen dont, is a bummer. Could really use that feature to make this product flawless. That and adding more to the router base would help. Overall happy with this purchase. Does what it says. Extends your connection. And also it has features like priority device, and also allows you to pretty much be the admin for your network capabilities.

Google needs to try harder. The setup was not easy. If you have Cox and a router or modem it may not work for you. I had to trying for hours to get it to connect. Do not plug anything else into your modem or router/modem combo other then the coaxial cable from ISP before starting. Make sure modem works and is actived and all lights are green. Then turn on the google router and make sure it’s got a solid white light. THEN connect via google app using an android device. If your an Apple person like me then do it on an iPad cause it doesn’t work on iPhone very well if at all from what I’ve found. Once the google app says it’s connected (took so long to get that part cause of the order of operation above) THEN go ahead and plug the Ethernet cable into your modem/router ONLY. The order is so important here. Do not connect your google router to your modem until you have connected to the android decide or iPad first and it will then tell you to hook up the cable for Ethernet. Pray it will connect to the internet on the first go. For me I had to turn off a lot of settings on my nighthawk ac1900 In the advanced settings. Turn off wifi on your nighthawk too so it’s just a modem and doesn’t interfere with google connecting to each access point. Honestly it’s such a pain and I’m shocked no one talks about it. I would have gone with a nighthawk mesh system had I known it would be this hard to setup with nighthawk modem. Other modems it seems like it’s fine from what I’ve read. Once you get it all working though it’s very nice. Love how deep the coverage is and how smooth it runs. You will have to reboot it every 6months or less just like anything else. Also it’s super annoying how the access points don’t have Ethernet ports. Google could have done better honestly. Now there are better mesh systems out there with these features that make it not worth the price.

Great router, love how it extends the signal throughout house so we get as great speed in one room as the other! Easy setup as well.

Not only excelent performance, but extremely easy to use. One is the main router, the other an extender. The extender has a google assistant speaker built in. I have a total of 5 units in my system and you can just keep adding. My house is 3000 sf and covers with 5 bars everywhere. I even have one outside in the pool area.

I needed to update my wifi router, so I researched the mesh wifi routers. I also love the android software over apple, I had just switched my phone from Iphone to Google Pixel 5. However I was skeptical of how good the Google Nest would be. Researching through many routers Google kept showing up as rating in top 5 of many reviews. I decided to buy it. I have no regrets. First let me explain my setup. We live in an apartment building where you see many wifi setups using similar channels from the people living above or below or across from your apartment, this can cause interference hence your wifi speed suffers. With my older router I had to manually change the wifi channel used to communicate with all the devices in my apartment. This would help temporarily increase my wifi speeds. However it was a pain to have to do this manually. I pay for 100 MBPS internet, and I was averaging 60-75 MBPS on wifi, higher if I was using ethernet wire directly to the router. The farthest room had low wifi signal and would only get at best 20 MBPS. With Google Nest I am getting beyond the speed I pay. This is possible because Google Nest is constantly monitoing the best wifi channel, and will automatically change the channel to optimize and maintain the highest speeds. On my Google pixel 5 phone I get up to 200 MBPS on Wifi. My PS4 gets on avg 150 MBPS. The farthest room in the Apartment gets 110 MBPS way more than the 20 MBPS speeds with the old router. The setup was very easy and I was up and running in about 10 minutes. For some it may take longer if they need to figure out the best place for their router and the mesh wifi point. I pretty much knew where to put mine. One last point is that Google automatically updates your router and they give you details in their app, called Google Wifi. I truly recommend this mesh router to anyone living in apartments as there are many wifi setups that can cause interference around you. Also recommend this to anyone upgrading their router.

Super happy with these! There is now 100% coverage around my 2100sqft house, including to the 3 outdoor Nest Cam’s that are constantly running in “Maximum Data” mode. We are “cord cutters” and usually have 3-4 (up to 6) TV’s (Roku’s and Streaming TV’s) running (Hiigh Data for those 4K pictures). We also have 2 gamer boys, so there’s always something streaming from them, along with 3 constant laptops, an iPad, and 5 phones. (A total of 23 devices are usually actively using data when we are home). It never slows down, never lags, never hiccups. I’ve never had to go unplug it, or see what’s going on, it just runs like it’s supposed too! I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. Family controls are awesome, the only lacking feature that I miss from my previous router is the “website log” - I like to be able to confirm these teens are doing their homework during the day, but there is no way to log internet activity with these. Apparently Google says that’s a privacy issue.

great speeds, no dead zones and fully integrated into my smart home

Great wifi get solid coverage inside and outside the house. My approximate sq is 3700 and this covers everything my old router couldn’t. The built in app that you set this is is also great. I see everything on the network and what’s being used. This is a feature I use all the time tied to my kids iPads and Xbox in order to kill their internet for bedtime, dinner, lunch and other breaks. Has parental controls in it as well to help protect them from sites and I can do network and Speedtest that are built in to check wifi. Really great system and having the google home function built in to play music, answer questions or use it like an intercom and broadcast to the house is an awesome feature too! Btw they look really nice and are compact!

I like the device and how it has more than one functionality. It has speaker abilities and smart options that make it a great addition to my home. One thing I will say is that I enabled the feature that lowers your tv when Google is prompted to speak. When it is operating as it should the sound is raised, reverting to the previous volume. However, often times it will be triggered by a random utterance on tv and the sound will stay low. Not a big issue as I could turn the feature off and it is not the main focus of the Wi-Fi mesh. Most times when devices have a lot of features there will be quirks, so it is not a deal breaker. The Wi-Fi is boosted in my home and can reach all rooms. I only experienced a few issues with the mesh saying the connection was bad via the Google home app, which I believe may be related to my internet service provider.

Definitely worth the price!! Since the pandemic I’ve been working from home and upgraded my wifi from Xfinity to the highest 1gbps. But ever since I upgraded my service I noticed I would still only get speeds of 39 or 40 mbps. I finally realized my equipment was 4 years old and though they did allege to support 1 gbps, they really weren’t able to handle the speeds. I upgraded to this Nest Mesh network and an upgraded modem and now am constantly seeing speeds of 800+mbps!! Huge difference in performance. I like to work on weekend to catch up on the week and wasn’t able to with my family using up the wifi with Netflix and what not, and now have no issues at all.

This is my first mesh network router system. I’m using it with Verizon Fios and their ONT device. With Fios, you do not need a modem nor a Verizon router if you get this router. I also had Spextrum in the last and you just need to use their modem along with this router for your internet. This has improved connection speeds in areas of my home where I had slow speeds or low signals. This is not a Wifi 6 router which most new routers have, but keep in mind that most devices do not support the Wifi 6 standard. The aesthetics of the router and point are great and they blend into my home furniture. Setup is easy. Not much customization with settings. If you need VPN via router, or heavy monitoring of connections or customization of things like DHCP, this is not for you. This router system is for people who want a reliable and strong connection with easy setup.

I have a 5300 square foot home with basement and 2 stories. I bought the 3 pack and positioned them main floor middle of house. 2nd floor and basement on opposite sides. I have very strong connection everywhere in the entire house and outside in yard. Awesome and fast!!!

Great connectability and signal strength throughout my house.

Recently moved from a small one-bedroom apartment into a house, so the drop in WiFi signal from one end of the house to the other was surprising. Our internet speeds are 200 Mbps down/ 10 Mbps up and we receive that while in the room with the router. Moving to the other end of the home where we sleep and that signal would drop to around 30 mbps down and 8 Mbps up. After purchasing this kit, the router is still on one side of the home, we have one access point in the middle of the home in our library and another in the primary bedroom and we maintain the 200 Mbps down / 10 Mbps pretty much everywhere in and around the home. We're already a decently heavy Google household so the fact that the access points double as voice assistants is pretty handy as well. The largest con to the Nest Wifi router is the fact that it only has one ethernet port. This is fine, because an 8 port Gigabit Ethernet switch is like $25 at most. But I can see how people who aren't necessarily tech-savvy have no idea what a network switch even is. The other con is the lack of choosing what WiFi network to connect to (whether it be 5 Ghz or 2.4 GHz). For the most part, the automation works well, but there are a few times where my partners desktop will only connect to 2.4 Ghz and it leaves her with a slightly slower connection. Overall kinda minor, as it quickly adjusts, but still an inconvenience. With that being said, I still think this Mesh Router from Nest is the go-to option for those who are already a Google household. So far, the issues presented are minor at best, but I would highly recommend picking up a network switch with this router to ensure you have enough Ethernet ports available.

This blows my old modem/router out of the water. I get excellent signal throughout my 2800sqft home now, plus signal half an acre in either direction outside my home. Outstanding coverage compared to my old modem/router from my service provider. I paired this mesh network with an Arris SurfBoard 3.0 modem. I highly recommend this product to anyone wanting to upgrade their Wi-Fi coverage in their home.

My system is rather complex: a high end home theater system including 2 TVs, 2 Apple TV 4Ks, Roku, Blu-Ray player, & pre amp all connected to a 16 port TCP Link Ethernet switch. My ISP is AT&T Fiber. All of my my AV equipment is on a rack in a closet and this has created a WiFi 'dead spot' in my main viewing room since the AT&T router/modem is also on the AV rack in the closet. Enter Google Nest. I've had the Nest Wifi for over a month. Initial setup is a breeze. I installed the Home app on my iPhone and there were no issues. Voice command setup went well too. I have it placed on my kitchen counter next to my HT room and, as advertised, it provides a separate network. No more dead spot. I leave all the other HT devices connected ethernet using the AT&T Router network and I mainly use my laptop on the Google network. The connection is stable, and with all the other devices connected on the other network, there's no lag at all. I have a Sirius subscription and it is easy to link the account with Nest to stream thought it as well, which I use all the time. Now the bad part: After about two weeks of use out of the blue, the Point was no longer recognizing ANY of my voice commands. I would ask it play channel number *** on Sirius and it would reply "I'm sorry, I don't recognize that artist. It was like I was speaking a different language, NOTHING was making sense from this device anymore. Out of frustration, the only thing I could do was a factory reset of the Router & Point. Since then, things have been back to where they were before. However, many times while it is streaming either Sirius or my favorite Internet radio station, it will stop on it's own for no reason. There is still a connection when this is happening because I am using my laptop at the same time on the same network without issues. This happens quite a lot. Overall, I would say this a great WiFi nest and a so-so device for streaming for the reasons I mentioned.

This is amazing device and so easy to install with excellent technical online support Even my 8 yr old could help me in setup Music sharing on devices is excellent feature. Net speed check on app is verymuch useful After 4 weeks monitoring i am very much satisfied with performance.
