Have one of these on the second floor and basement of our old house, with WiFi router in the middle. Makes it easy to have hardwired connections where we want them. Way more plug and play than you would think. 8 ports only marginally more expensive than 4 ports. Keep in mind that you’ll need one port for the line in. Sturdy construction. Wall mountable but comes with rubber feet. Have had one of them running for 5 plus years.

purchased for upgrading home ethernet from 400 mb per second to 1000. New router, switch and cat 6 cables for 14 computers, phones, tv's and printers. Easy to install and works as expected. Speed test gave 900+ down and 20+ upload speeds. Grandson loves new speed on gaming computer.

A great, simple and tech free way to connect up to seven components to your Ethernet router. I am not a networking guru, trust me. When I switched internet providers, the new service, although it is fiber and has speeds of 2gb, it did not come with a router, just a one Ethernet port Modem. Not only did I lose the ability to connect my Printer, PS5, PS4, a couple of Smart TV's all to an Ethernet network, the speed was 10mbps. By adding the Netgear 8-port 10/100/10000 unmanaged switch, right out of my ISP's modem, I have all my devices connected to my Ethernet network and my speeds are between 1950-2125 mbps. What a lifesaver!

Does what a switch should do. Everything that need ethernet connection. Just plugged them in and that was all that was needed.

Wanted to hardwire my home office during the covid 19 pandemic. Realized having 2 Laptops on wifi, 2 cellphone on wireless on the desk, UPS underneath the desk, creating lots of EMFs all around the area where I sit and constantly taking all these various frequency into my body. NOT GOOD! Thought of at least eliminating these wifi signals by giving sweet gigabit ethernet instead. Got this bad boy home (ran wire through the crawl space-made RJ45 plugs with cat 6 cable about 75 feet long from router/modem) and hooked up all my devices to this 8 port Netgear Switch! Problem Solved. WIN WIN. Got 500 Mbps download and 800 Mbps upload speeds per my contract with ISP. Checked all type of EMFs all around my Home office area and the switch [EF {electric field V/m}, EMF {electro magnetic forces mG} and RF {radio frequency 0.1Ghz to 10Ghz in mW/m2}] after installing this device. Everything came below safe level defined by WHO and other agencies. I would highly recommend this product! Welcome for the additional info along with the Netgear switch review. I would recommend everyone taking steps to reduce the EMF levels in their houses especially where y'all sit for longer period of time. It is considered to be harmful.

I am stuck with a combination modem and router. You guessed it more devices than ports. What to do? I started checking out the different brands and configurations. For a few dollars more I could bet all kinds of wizbang devises and options. Wait what was that I needed? Oh, ports. No high speed. No complex managed. Just ports without a complex setup. This critter did the job it is compact and worked out of the box without more than just plugging in. It works so well that I do not use the router ports except one to transfer to this NETGEAR 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged Switch (GS108). It may be my imagination but all the devices (even the TV) seem to work better. I am using 2 SiliconDust HDHomeRun Scribe Duo OTA DVR Recorders that each take a port and plan on SiliconDust HDHomeRun Servio 2TB Expansion Adds 300+ Hours TV Recording (HHDD-2TB). Yea, another port.

I used this network switch to hardwire all my electronics, including my desktop computer, my laptop (when I’m at the desk), my PS5, Xbox Series X, LG OLED C1, and my Xbox 360 S. I recently got a new TV stand, and am in the process of wiring everything up to the switch again. Very fast, efficient, works as it should!

Great product for my needs. I prefer hard-wired DirecTV boxes vs. WiFi. This is super easy to use, truly plug-and-play. The hardest part was putting connectors on the cables.
