I use this switch in many ways! VLANs is one huge thing I needed with this switch using 2 different networks within my home is one way for me to learn and with this switch being so cheap it was worth the $60 I spent on it!

Excellent 8 port managed switch that supports VLANs! Easy web interface to configure all the settings. Very similar to the larger managed Netgear switches in an 8 port configuration.

I have this and a nighthawk router. Woke outstanding. The WAN Ethernet aggravated x2 is Friggin amazing if you have a homelab or run servers or a network with tons of computers with static ips running docker containers or kubernetes clusters. Highly suggest! Feel like I’m speed racer (the original one)

I discovered my home network wasn't reaching the throughput I expected from some of my devices. (especially for data backups) So, I added this NETGEAR managed switch and a few CAT6 cables to reach my full network speed potential.

I was given an open box item and told it was new. Called the store and they are very confused about what to do. Very poor experience from Best Buy. Device is configured with a password. Cannot access need to do a factory reset. It is physically dirty to the touch no condition for resale.

Just what we were looking for in a switch

We recently switched Internet providers and the gateway provided by the new company had only one available ethernet connection. This switch meets our needs perfectly and even allowed us to expand the number of available ports compared to our old router. Setup was non-existent as we just plugged it in, connected our ethernet connected equipment and everything just worked. We run a VOIP system at home for our phone service, so we wanted a managed switch that could be configured if needed. The switch came already preconfigured to recognize and prioritize VOIP traffic, so no configuration needed, although we could still make changes if we wanted to. We are very pleased with the speed, connectivity, and ease of setup.

Works great our other one had 2 ports that stoped working (different brand) this one made our hardwire speed faster and ports work perfectly. I don’t know details because my son hooked it up because I don’t know how this stuff works.

This is a managed switch, so it’s up to you to configure it or not, but if you choose not to set up the managed settings, plug and play works just fine. I haven’t had any issues with connectivity, and this really helped expand my network. I have a wireless access point plugged into it and so far I have no issues with speed.

Great switch with management for this price, wow! back in my day when we walked up hill both ways to school and installed Intel 486 based PC, a unit like this would have been a grand. Works great, don't hesitate. Connected right to my router, for 8 extra ports..

Decent little switch for the money. I love that I can segregate ports on their own VLANS on this thing. If you are not a networking expert No worries there is a very simple interface that you can utilize in Netgear's software that they instruct you to download in the documentation that actually make it extremely simple to set up and use.

It does what it should. Allow for multiple ethernet devices to connect. I use it in my home office and can even keep track of the usage out of each device. Useful if your are running a business out of your home.

It's overkill if you're just extending your home lan, but it's built like a tank and is very easy to install and manage. It works right out of the box, but if you want, you can dig around inside it and mirror ports, section off a VLAN, or other simple switch management tasks.
