This router has a easy setup and handles the dual bandwidths from my internet provider flawlessly. Much better than the router my internet provider supplies/charges a monthly lease fee for. I have a large home so I did have to purchase some Netgear Extenders to cover the dead spots. No knock on this router though. It’s really good and is priced well.

    Great for Spectrum!

I have the Spectrum/Charter 440 Mbps Internet plan. Tired of their "free modem/rent router monthly for WiFi" crap, I decided to buy my own gateway. Takes up surprisingly little space compared to previous gateways I've owned and can handle 10+ devices connected to it smoothly. Can deliver high-enough speeds through 5 Ghz WiFi that are almost indistinguishable from ethernet speeds. Purchased when it was on sale, but if your ISP doesn't issue you both a modem and a router (or combo like this), and this is compatible with your ISP, it will save huge amounts of money over the years.

I have a two bedroom single level home and this Modem/router does the Job effortlessly. I have a 100mbs cable network connection and full power is available always. For me it's perfect and I thoroughly recommend purchasing. I also save $10 per month by not renting the cable company Modem.

I bought this based on reviews in a number of publications. The set-up was easy and quick. The first location I chose for the router did not have a strong enough signal in one room. Moved to a second location and has great coverage throughout our 2400 sq. ft. two story condex.

I have had this for like 2 months and I couldn't have made a better choice. It's super fast, exceeding the speed of my internet provider. I have not experienced a break in transmission and the reach is amazing. Highly recommended if you are looking for reliability.

I bought this to replace my Comcast cable modem. The Comcast unit had become undependable, but it had great range for WiFi and I didn't want to lose that. I set this up in a very short time, and it was able to self-authorize to Comcast. Very smooth, and the unit reaches from the 2nd floor to the basement in the opposite end of the house, while still giving me very high speed. I've also changed the security settings and DNS provider with no problem. Many other features are available. I also use the ability to have a network drive via the USB port on the back. Nice package!

Having to be home, and being more dependant on our internet service we decided to purchase this modem/router combo. It was the best decision we've made. We have at a minimum 8 devices connected and the speed and quality of this unit out performs anything we've had in the past including the unit rented from our internet provider. You'll also have an option to connect your phones or other devices to 5G internet wifi.

This modem/router works much better than the Comcast router. I was having issues with my MacBook losing connection with my printer. It was very frustrating as I was constantly having to reconnect. Also, my iPad would not connect with my printer and my Ring doorbell was periodically losing connection. All these issues have been resolved with the Netgear router. I purchased this router to save the $10 per month Comcast rental fee and am so happy that I did.

My older model of Netgear was giving up, so I decided to chose a router/ modem that had a bit more speed. This router/modem works great. 5 people in the household running laptops, smart TVs, playstations, and smartphones and internet is great. Also works with spectrum, so i dont have to pay to barrow their router/modem.

Mr. Mike at our local Best Buy in Metairie/Kenner, LA recommended this product for my new apartment. Initially, my mom was interested in purchasing a different modem router that didn’t cost as much but we later found out this product would be worth the $150+. Nice and sleek design and works well i’m my 1-BR apartment. I believe this one would be good for up to a 2-BR apartment as well.

I have spectrum and used their basic modem router and I was just not getting the numbers I expected (I do online gaming). So I upgraded to this modem (with WiFi) and set up was basic. Called spectrum and they set it up to the service. Roughly ten minutes. Now for the numbers. I have a 1300sq ft apartment and now I can cover the back rooms. So my signal strength where I keep my gaming console was at 40% WiFi strength and then with the upgrade I am seeing 65% with closed doors. My speeds went from 40mbps to 90mbps. Big jump in my opinion... The router also fixed latency issues. Of course I do my gaming solely on the 5g network and use the normal for things like laptops, phones and TVs. With all my devices connected at the same time I have 13 devices. If you want to see faster connection and speed without the hassle of a booster, start here. It’s an investment (did have to put a few pennies together) but you will own this modem for years to come. If you’re more of an aesthetic snob, this is a sleek looking modem with its high gloss look and sharp edges (also doesn’t have antennas sticking out) Hope this helps!

Another Great Cable Modem Router from NETGEAR

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I’ve received this cable modem for free to review and test for NETGEAR’s First Look Review Program. It’s great to be part of this Program and will be giving all honest reviews throughout my participation with this program. ~First Thoughts~ Another Great Cable Modem Router from NETGEAR I received this modem within two business days straight from NETGEAR, upon receiving the box I immediately opened the product to inspect and review the condition that I’ve received to inspect the cable modem just in case there was an issue but I didn’t find one. ~Setup~ The setup for this modem was very easy and straight forward process. I do currently own a few NETGEAR modem/router’s that I’ve either purchased or received as part of NETGEAR’s First Look Review Program. Always have to swap modems with Comcast whenever I do this and never have an issue doing that with them. I’ve had pass experience with NETGEAR Modems & Routers so using the NETGEAR Genie was a breeze and almost any user that is new with any product that NETGEAR produces will have a very fast setup process so just follow the steps provided. ~Features~ The features of this modem are great for what you get as a modem & router that can compete against other 16x4 modems. 16x4 Channel Bonding - 16 Downstream channels and 4 Upstream channels allowing for a better connection & usage. This means I’ll enjoy full connection with the Comcast Servers while at high peak usage hours in your town when everyone else is connected to the same node you’re on. It has great Wi-Fi range that works throughout my house with little loss of signal with it’s built in router compatibility. ~Performance~ You’ll enjoy downloading things faster over DOCSIS 3.0 from the higher bandwidth speeds that your cable provider can provide to you after they’ve done their network upgrades on their end. The 16 Downstream bonding channels will future proof yourself until your cable provider provides 16 channels in your area along with the 4 channel bonding for the upstream. While in some other regions they already have 24x8 channles. ~Did Product meet my expectation?~ As they always do!! This modem is great for anyone. Everything depends on what you can afford and if your cable company can provide the speeds to you. ~Price-value~ The price that they’re asking for is a bit expensive at $ 169.99 for a DOCSIS 3.0 modem with 16x4 channels bonding only. Honestly it should be priced at $139.99 if this was the only modem I could afford at the time. ~Would I recommend this modem to my friends and or a family member?~ I would recommend this modem to any one of my friends while this type of technology is still supported. I was looking for a modem compatible with Comcast Xfinity, and the Best Buy associate steered me in the direction of this modem since I only use a few devices and didn't need a more expensive modem with more capability. It's easy to hook up, and I've had no issues with performance, even when I use my devices upstairs (modem is downstairs).
