Easy setup with the mobile app. Do the initial setup in the same room as your wireless router. Once that's done, it's important to place this where your wifi signal is still good. ALL of the lights on the extender should be green. Extends both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. This accomplished what I wanted- extending the wifi signals to areas of weak coverage.

Our wifi tends to only connect in the house. We purchased a ring floodlight camera that required a wifi connection. I googled best wifi extenders and netgear was the first brand to come up. The setup of the extender was easy and once connected, our entire driveway now has coverage. The ring camera operates as it should. Will be purchasing from netgear going forward.

As of one week in, we believe this extender was the right choice for our home and router/modem. Greatly extended both 5Ghz and 2.4 Ghz bands on the main level of our home. The full-bars (like the icon on your iphone) signal was extended about 15-20 yards farther into our home than it’s original range. The two-bar range was extended even farther than that. Moderately extended signal in the basement although not as well as on the same floor the extender was on. The extender works with the wifi networks you already have, and the it doesn’t add any additional networks like some extenders do. The nighthawk app that you download to set the extender up and manage it is easy to work with we think. As of right now, I would definitely purchase another of these models for our home or as a gift. Note—wifi still slows and range does decrease during peak hours, however—as expected.

It’s on the pricier side but it’s worth the money. I originally bought this to extend the range on some Wi-Fi cameras. It’s extremely easy to use and the app has some cool features. It doesn’t add an additional Wi-Fi name so that’s a plus. I ended up putting the extender near my work computer and so I plugged my ether cable into it. Pretty nice feature.

I needed to extend my 5GHz wifi range with something that was discrete and could be hidden behind furniture, and without trailing power wires.
This Netgear Nighthawk range extender does the job well. I'm using it as a WAP, so have it connected to my wired LAN through an ethernet cable to my router. Only small issue is that the ethernet socket on the bottom edge makes it a little tricky to install a cable if you are using the other power outlet. If you have a regular plug in the other outlet, the ethernet socket is partially covered by the plug. I got round it by putting a swivelled 3-way adapter in the other power socket so that the plugs face downwards instead of outward (see photo). Works great and completely hidden behind a cabinet.

My router is in the basement. I was having trouble picking up the Wi-Fi in the garage and front door. Therefore, I couldn't set up my Ring doorbell. I picked this up and plugged it in at the top of the stairs in the hallway by the entryway. It worked great. It has even helped pick up a stronger signal on the back porch. I can't give it five stars yet because I need to make sure it holds when I really need it. It was a little tricky getting everything set up but not terrible.

I was having severe problems with my internet. At 1st I thought it was the ISP. However I learned later that two story houses need a boost in order for the WIFi to work upstairs. This was the answer to my prayers!!

I went to Best Buy (under warranty/Geek Squad coverage) because my Netgear WN3000RP started dropping signals on my home network. Since I use this for work in my home office, I needed a replacement as my office gets poor coverage without a range extender.
I thought about getting the same Netgear extender but found the WN3000RP to lack a strong signal and dual channels. After looking through the various options, the Best Buy store employee pointed me in this direction. This item was on sale at a considerable discount to the regularly listed price but still more than the money I received for the product I was returning.
What drew me to this items was the dual bands with high speed, 5G and higher speeds. I was initially concerned about the larger size but it hasn't really mattered as I have this placed in an outlet in an inconspicuous area.
Once I got the item home, it was a breeze to set up. I plugged it in next to my router, hit the WPS buttons and the extender copied my network immediately. I then plugged it in downstairs and I was off and running. Since it copied the original network, I was able to use the same password as my router.
A couple things I've noticed since using this over the last month:
1. This has a much stronger signal than the previous extender.
2. The 5G channel isn't much help as the extender on my network is too far from the router to take advantage of the 5G channel on the router.
3. I haven't had this drop connection a single time since setting it up! This was a dramatic improvement over the previous extender.
4. Highly recommend the Geek Squad coverage for this item. IMHO, routers and modems tend to die. I've had so many die before a year, it's not even funny. The few dollars extra for full coverage is worth every cent.
Bottom line: This is a great wifi extender and I highly recommend it. If this dies down the road, I'll probably just get another one.

I bought this because we were going to my daughters house in washington state. She lives on 5 acres and we brought our 5th wheel to stay in. The pad is 200 yards from her house and wifi is very weak the last time I visited. This time is very different I set it up in the house took it out to the rv and plugged it in. My son in law said it wouldn't work. However I was happy because it works great full bars. We stream movies and have fast tablet connections. Would recommend.

I bought this to extend the range of the modem that was in the basement to the back porch upstairs. It worked well. Every several months I would have to reset it but that's no worse than the main modem. Set up was extremely fast and easy. Having both speeds was helpful for more range, it went through 3 walls including 2 exterior walls to get to where I do most of my work.

Really improved the range on the wifi at the house. I had planned to extend ethernet out to my shop, but the new Nighthawk extended coverage/.speed to encompass my shop. Very easy to setup, secure (password changes) and access.
Already recommended to my family for their upgrades.

Seems to have a decent range and okay signal. I could stream a video at extended range easily. The signal did slow down with multiple users during a conference, but we were demanding a lot from the device. Set up had multiple steps but was simple to understand.

I bought this to better send a signal to my home office. While my main signal comes from just down the hall, I'm in an older home and the very solid walls made the signal very poor, as evidenced by a terrible Zoom call during a work from home day. I went out that night after the call, bought this device, plugged it in and set it up in minutes and the signal was greatly improved. It solved the issue, which is what I needed.

This little gadget is a total game-changer! I used to have dead zones all over my house, but not anymore. The Nighthawk extender boosted my Wi-Fi signal to every corner. Setup was super easy too. Highly recommend for anyone struggling with weak Wi-Fi!
