Works well for a household of wi-fi users, only complaint is having to download an app to get working. Cell phone does not work in my valley, so that was a hitch for us.

Overall the XR1000 is decent. That is, until you want to use it for gaming. Constant NAT, ping, and upload speed issues made this router more painful than useful. The DumaOs is a good idea but, what it boasts in features, it lacks in real world application. The QOS functions, regardless of settings, severely bottlenecked bandwidth. If you are looking for a router for PC gaming or a single console, the XR1000 might work for you. However, when additional consoles are added it will cause NAT and ping issues.

Intuitive router! The usability features are second to none. I’m use to routers coming online and wifi working with no features to adjust. This router begs to differ. We are a gaming family and the ability to adjust QoS, Ping and Traffic was just what I was looking for. No more dead zones or lag. A few simple adjustments and we are just as competitive as the next gamer. Thank you Netgear for such a great router.

I will spit out a gig a second but managing about 25+ devices at a steady 145 mbs at once is impressive

So many problems. Pray your power never goes out. When it's working it's great. But I've been dealing with customer service ever since I bought. Even got a replacement (first wouldn't keep updated firmware even though it said it did). 2nd one can't login into the router but have great speeds. If you do buy it make sure you buy the geek squad protection.

Even before it was out of the box, the fiber installation guys both agreed this was a solid buy, which was flattering. Installation was easy enough. Once all set up, everything has been smooth so far. And it has great range for my two floor home, which is great for the tenants in my basement apartment

This router is pure junk. I had the XR700 before this. It was better. I needed to upgrade to wifi6 to handle the growing number of wireless devices in my home. I like the DumaOS features from my previous router so I bought this one thinking it would be the same software with better wifi capabilities. I could not be more wrong. Three time in the first month and a half I had to reboot when it dropped connections to everything. Also three times, I had to factory reset it because I could not log into the router. The hardware is now junk and the software has followed it into the garbage. I spent a fair amount of time with netgear tech support and got nowhere close to a solution. I am past the 15 Best Buy return window so now I'm stuck with a $300 paperweight. Netgear quality has gone way downhill. I think I'll be looking to ASUS or TP-Link for my next router. Which is probably going to be soon if this keeps up.

Fast wifi 6 router with some good features and an interesting gamer interface. This router is good for mid-range home use on dsl or comcrap cable. I would buy something faster if you have fiber or gig service or if you have more than say 6 active users. But for our small place and crap comcost service it's just fine. The UI is bit slow and clunky at time, if you don't need fancy features they sell a cheaper version of this router that does not have the interface or gamer optimizations, but keeps the same cpu and wireless system.
