I previously owned a Nighthawk X6 AC3200 Tri Band. It was perfect for my requirements 4-5 years ago, but now with the increase of devices I needed, it started to put a strain on it. so I retired it and upgraded to the AXE11000 which is faster and also handles the newer WiFi 6 which most providers are switching to. As with the AC3200, the AXE11000 was simple to install and setup all of the previous MAC addresses of my devices plus a few more. I believe the AXE11000 can handle up to 60 devices which is more that I need. It is also much faster that on the data rates than my previous router which is need for my grandson's and granddaughter's gaming addition LOL. Overall, I give this a 5 star. Regards, one happy granddad.

Excellent! Worth every penny. Used it to replace a Hargray router and the speeds that we were getting with that one were atrocious nowhere near the gig we pay for only about 10% of that. With this baby we’re almost maxed out and it has amazing range covers a 2500 foot house plus at our neighbors. And we have over 20 devices connected in our smart home. Pay a little up front but no more rental fees for the router and get the internet you pay for!

It's expensive. I wish it was less expensive. However, I get 900 Mbps - 1 Gbps wirelessly. I have no more network congestion - even when family is remotely streaming Plex from my media pc and my kid is simultaneously listening to a 4k Youtube video instead of watching it (WHY), while she's playing a game, and my wife is watching Netflix. The latency to my own game servers is usually less than 20ms, and I haven't used an ethernet cable in 6 years. For what it's worth, the last Nighhawk (R8000) still works, and I didn't upgrade it for any reason except I wanted faster wireless throughput, and I have about a million more smart home devices connected now than when I bought it 6 years ago. Some people complain about Netgear build quality or software issues, but I haven't experienced that. This one has been on for a couple of months now and I haven't had to reset it or touch it after initial set up - which took about 15 minutes total. The most time-consuming part was removing the old router from the Nighthawk app, and then there not being a QR code on my unit despite the app insisting there was - I had to find it manually. Worth the buy if you're interested in the throughput speeds and connectivity it offers. Expensive and overkill if you're not going to utilize it and don't have fast enough internet to hit those speeds.

Finally decided to upgrade my router. After doing a bit of research and talking to a few different people with networking experience, I went for the NETGEAR Nighthawk AXE11000. It was a breeze to setup and is incredibly fast, I also love the look of it too. I believe it will be several years before I need to upgrade again. Thanks NETGEAR!

Unbelievable. Flawless internet in every room of the house including the garage (2 story house with basement/garage). It less than 5 minutes to set up and no one complains anymore about slow internet. Haven't had to reset it once now. Netgear customer for life.

Best decision by far, set up easy plug and play, no issues like the previous model, no doubleNat bs, wifi signal is strong in the 2 story house both inside and outside the house averaging 900mbps on wifi. In use with spectrum 1gb service

I was looking for a router that offers outstanding range and excellent speed. I was using xfinity’s newest wi-fi 6e modem/router the XB8. It had surprisingly good range and speed. The NETGEAR RAXE500 offers a solid download speed increase over the XB8 ( see attached pics ). The XB8 had a couple of dead spots in my backyard. The RAXE500 doesn’t have any dead spots. However the signal on the RAXE500 isn’t quite as strong as I hoped it would be. I was hoping for full bar coverage in my backyard and I am not getting that.

    After 2 years...

It started out to be a great router. After a year and a half, we upgraded to 1 gig internet. After two years, it loses signal with the modem, constantly losing internet several times a week. I keeps the firmware up to date, and even after 2 resets in the past month, it hasn't resolved the issue. I have also switched out the cat6 cables. I have about 10 devices on the Wi-Fi and 3 hardline connected. It's disappointing because I have been a loyal Netgear customer for years. I purchased this brand new when it came out, $645. That's a lot of money for only 2 years worth of use. I specifically purchased an APC battery for it, it's only been plugged into that to protect it from rampant power surges and outages. After this experience, I hesitate to purchase the new Netgear router as I'm looking to upgrade to 2 gig Fiber internet. Instead, I'm looking at the new Asus Rog Rapture router.

Just recently purchased axe11000, had a cable company wireless router prior. I can already see an immediate difference in terms of device connectivity huge. Upgrade for my family. The app is extremely intuitive and highlights security and connectivity. Was considering the orbit, however, due to the size of my residence and family members gaming found this product to align with our needs well. And price was extremely competitive to ultimately allow me to make this purchase. The 6E bandwidth is extremely synchronous for our compatible devices making it much easier to allow us to get the best speed for our devices.

Nighthawk has made this very easy to setup through a mobile app. You can even rename your router and password like your old router so any device connected to your old router will reconnect without setup. Most of my devices this worked on a few did not but easy enough. 3 channels 2.4, 5 and new 6e. A few changes were required on the devices to accept 6E connections but they work flawlessly. Looks amazing also..

On paper NETGEAR over promises with the RAXE500. Compared to my previous router the AC2400, the RAXE500 comes with all the bells and whistles. But I bought the RAXE500 trusting that NETGEAR wouldn’t release an unfinished product or a badly finished product that could at least match the features that the AC2400 had. The RAXE500 does not match the AC2400 in features or even reliability. The RAXE500 USB ports do not work for streaming from an external hard drive. The exact same setup as the AC2400 does not work on the RAXE500. Playing videos drop out every 4 to 6 minutes. The only temporary fix that I had to figure out myself was to log into the RAXE500 and reboot the router from the menu. Videos can play without dropping out for about a day, give or take and then I have to reboot all over again. THIS WAS NOT A PROBLEM WITH THE AC2400. Netgear Support has not done anything even after I told them about the return period. I have exchanged the RAXE500 3 times thinking that the router was defective. It is very clear that all of the RAXE500’s don’t work and Netgear Support’s best “advise” is “to play around with the channel”. Needless to say, my older and cheaper AC2400 did not need any channel “playing”. My advice is to spend your money on a router made by another brand.

I've now had the NETGEAR AXE11000 RAXE500 for a couple of weeks and it has been a big performer. I had another brand router that was pretty decent but the AXE11000 outperforms it by a mile. PROS: I found the AXE11000 to be easy to setup using the auto setup feature -used the 2.5/1ghz internet input and am -getting 1.35ghz+ speeds on cable -not seeing any issues with drop outs or signal strength, even though the router is in a 2nd floor corner room -easy to use app helps with setting up new devices and performing firmware updates for the router CONS: -would like it to be smaller, petty on my part -could be less expensive -not many 6e devices yet and I don't have any to comment on I do recommend reading the manual so that you can use the router to it's fullest.

Had this router for a few years now - it's a beast. Reliability is priority, then speed, and this checks both boxes. I've never dipped below 900mbps with gigblast internet from Cox and we're a heavy tech family in our household. 30+ devices connected and at least half them them are on simultaneously, maybe a quarter are streaming or gaming as well. The price is steep, but the statement holds true - "You get what you pay for." Would highly recommend.

With Netgear’s very easy to understand app setting this up was very easy. Living in a large home and being relatively far from the router I have maintained a very high upload, download and low ping especially while gaming and having multiple devices stream. Logging into this newer Router through desktop is simple the UI is very friendly to the inexperienced. Great for gaming and streaming from multiple devices.
