    Durable workhorse of 5G

Bought unlocked version for use on Private 5G and 4G network and also when on public network. Works great out of the box as WiFi hotspot, USB tether and Ethernet bridge. Using on state of the art 5G standalone system for n71 (600MHz) and n48 (CBRS 3.5GHz) for private network for industrial use cases. Rugged for the workforce. We have used to enable some mobile robotic platforms as well. External antenna option fantastic for difficult or low signal areas. Have connection (bars) in places others do not. Sure can get a consumer grade for less, but this a durable travel companion that supports the latest 5G technologies.

    Most stable highest performing hotspot.

I have recently purchased five of the best, highest rated hotspots currently available for GSM / T-Mobile use. Out of all the hotspots this 5G quad antenna (non pro) version seems to perform best for me in my area. Unfortunately, the pro version (newest) of this Netgear hotspot seems to suffer from overheating. I really don't need the mmWave feature or 6E WiFi... I prefer stability over bleeding edge performance with this type of product. Price is very high but it's a good hotspot. Highly recommended.

Fantastic for internet on the road! The only issue I had is most devices that you connect to is 2.4 GHZ just be sure and change that setting on this net gear device.. It’s very powerful and most devices have not have not upgraded there capabilities as of yet!

Best product and worth each penny, you have option to get a cheap one for $100 or a Netgear for $ 550. it is like Ford fiesta vs Cadillac escalade. Expect the outcome based on your paid value.

This hotspot is not unlocked! I have AT&T and purchased a sim card, just to be told by AT&T that it was not unlocked. I went to Best Buy and they said there was nothing that they could do. So if you have AT&T it WILL NOT WORK and is a complete waste of time!

    Contradictions & Restrictions....

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Respectfully & kindfully; if to be understood accurately, this device is only compatible with T-Mobile's & AT&T's networks (makes no sense when the bandwidths are the same regardless the technology), & only reaching the nano bands within the 5G technologies.... I also read that it only produces only 2.5Gb/s (Gigabits persecond) on that 5G technology and contradicts by mentioning 3.5Gb/s, with only a 1Gb/s ethernet (WLAN) port....(questioning emoticon) Why, in any right mind is this anywhere nigh the same price as a smartphone/tablet, please....? Routers & modens are nowhere near this much.... even for specifically N securities!! Security systems are less than this for homes/buisnesses. Many of the phones BestBuy sells aren't this much.... The biggest aspects of this device are the restrictions & the price....

The Price of Bands and Lack of Certification

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This hotspot is functionally identical to the MR6110, which is sold at full retail on AT&T for less than half the cost. The difference? The MR6150 doesn't have the neutered band reductions that are unethical to begin with. So yes, it will work much better on T-Mobile and Verizon. Oh wait, except Netgear doesn't have the guts to demand Verizon certify the device, so good luck activating it. They could go to the FCC and/or court and insist it gets certified, but they can't seem to get the nerve. Consumers lose, because they can't activate it properly on Verizon without tricks and hoop jumping. I cannot in good conscience hold onto one of these. Vote with your wallet.

      Hi Deadpool,

Thank you for your review, we appreciate your valuable feedback and we want you to know that your experience is important to us. The AT&T MR6110 is optimized for AT&T’s network whereas the MR6150 is optimized for all major 5G networks in the US. MR6150 is certified with AT&T and T-Mobile and there are plans to have Verizon certification by the end of June’23 where users will be able to activate their Verizon SIM.

If you need additional information or any assistance, please reach out to us at [email protected], and we will be happy to help you.

      Regards,
      NETGEAR Team
