Haven't really used all it has yet but from i use now it works great and way better then some of the other routers i had been using. This thing is on the cutting edge of technology. Sometimes it can be loud when the fans kick in but for me that's because i'm using it's power!! If i had to choose again i would go for the same router!!

The range on this router is superb. We have several devices (smart home, game consoles, tablets, TVs, etc.) connected with no issues.

The router works great. The performance is amazing. My only concern is their gateway options. It feels a little limited although, I like how everything is explained and the easy setup app makes this great product for users varying levels of complexity. I got this for my business, I want one or two for my home now.

Overkill for most users, but lots of range and good speed.

Excellent range. I was torn between one of the new mesh systems or an all-in-one. This covers my 3300 square foot house with full power. Tons of features like IP static allocation and port forwarding. Also has support for dynamic dns. I didn't care about the 802.11ad yet. But did need a router capable of handling 50 connected devices on a gigabit connection.

PURCHASED THIS ROUTER ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO BECAUSE IT WAS A HIGH END ROUTER AND I WAS TRYING TO COVER A 2400 SQ. FT HOUSE. THE ROUTER FAILED TO DO THAT SO I HAD TO USE SEVERAL EXTENDERS. ESPECIALLY TO GET TO MY OUTSIDE SECURITY CAMERA. THE ROUTER WAS VERY STABLE FOR ALMOST A YEAR BUT THEN STARTED TO DROP CONNECTS AND OTHER FAILURES. OVER THE SIX MONTH PERIOD AFTER 1 YEAR IT BECAME INCREASINGLY UNSTABLE. OTHER CONS: MY EXPERIENCE WITH NETGEAR SUPPORT WAS EVEN MORE DISAPPOINTING. KNOWING THIS UP FRONT I STILL PURCHASE GEAR OVER OTHERS BECAUSE TECHNICALLY I FOUND THERE EQUIPMENT IS QUALITY ( AS I HAVE HAD SAME PROBLEMS WITH OTHER ROUTERS BUT GOOD SUPPORT). IF YOU NEED SUPPORT STAY AWAY FROM NETGEAR. IF YOU WANT HIGH NETWORK EQUIPMENT AND DON’T NEED SUPPORT I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM. ALWAYS GET THE BESTBUY: PROTECTION PLAN ON ELECTRONICS. BECAUSE THEY ARE PUTTING SO MUCH NEW TECHNOLOGY IN PRODUCTS THAT THEY ARE LESS RELIABLE AND MORE LIKELY TO FAIL. I HAVE FOUND MOST OF TODAY’S ELECTRONICS LESS RELIABLE THAN IN THE PAST.

Router provides really good coverage and very fast speeds.

I was very skeptical about spending almost 500 for a router. But I took the plunge and purchased it. It didn't take me long to pack up my apple extreme. There not even in the same ballpark if you compare them. The netgear is so much faster and all around looks better. If you are looking to get a router that's future proof this is the one to get :)

I had the bad experience with Netgear as my first router broke and second could not last for a week. I switched to ASUS but this one agin broke after a year got the replacement but replace didn't work as well. Then I switched to Night hawk 10 and seems to be robust and no issues till now. This is advance feature thou costly for home user but worth it

This has great range and the speed is about as good as it gets.

Works well when it works, but it drops the 2.4 and 5 ghz channels on a regular basis. Coverage is better than the r8500. But this will probably be the last netgear router I buy. The WiFi drops have been reported by other users. Netgear offered to replace it,but other users have reported continual WiFi drops with even the replacements, so I’m guessing a design or firmware issue. The 802.11ad feature is worthless as there are very few PCs that support it, I have not found any dongles that support either. Smart connect (same ssid used for 2.4 & 5 ghz), QOS causes problems and isn’t really needed for home use. It’s an ok router, like I said it does have design issues.

I have been using it for around two months. It is a great router, easy to setup, ton of features that requires minimum knowledge to setup (as long as you can read, you can setup automatic updates and Plex servers without having to install anything extra). It just froze once (I was used to have issues with my prev. router more often).

This product works well and has excellent range and coverage

Appearance and packaging is very nice; set up was easy; I really like the mobile app feature plus the additional controls.
