Customers are saying

Customers praise the Nighthawk X10 AD7200 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router for its impressive range, strong performance, and ease of setup, resulting in excellent coverage and signal strength, great for streaming and other demanding applications. However, some customers note that the router is expensive and large, and a few have experienced issues with the firmware. Despite these drawbacks, many users find the improved speed and reliability worthwhile.

Excellent range and ease of use, Plex is a nice +

Bought this for its extended range capability over the X6 that I returned. Range seems much better, and works through out my whole house, and even into a detached workshop. Also using this router as a Plex media server, and I have been very happy with it. Only using it to run 1 stream at a time, so I am not sure of its capability beyond that. Using it in conjunction with a WD 8TB MyBook for storage of the media for Plex.

Great for buildings with multiple obstructions. Speed isn't compromised as soon as you walk 10' away from the router like most

I switched from Apple's most recent time capsule to the Nighthawk and there is a very noticeable increase in both range and speed.

The At&t modem/router I was provided from my cable company was below standard to handle 4 smart tv sets, 1 computer, two tablets, two smart phones and three Google devices. I went to Best Buy and was told the Netgear Nighthawk X10 router will solve the problem. I subsequently had the Geek team come to my house and properly set up the router. Now all my devices work ALL the time and every single time. We are extremely elated with the performance of the X10 router.

We are using this router over 3 years. We are family of five. Since pandemic started I am working from home and my daughters are in distance learning. Long story short this wifi handles everything without any problem. We havent seen any internet speed issue. We have over 15 devices including our phones laptops and Tvs and so far it is very very good. Definitely worth the money we spent.

This ol house is big with a lot of rooms and this router handles all of our needs for 7 people with smart phones and 5 smart TVs plus gaming consoles... Much improvement over the cable companies' modem/router combo unit.

Great Router For Those Looking At VR Gaming

At first glance I thought $450 was quite a lot but I'm interested in future virtual reality gaming. This router give you that option if and when you decide to. I don't have a VR system but yet I'm fully ready because this router meets and exceeds all requirements for that. I have a 4k player, PS4, Xbox1, Fire Stick, Kindle, I-phone 7, and Surface Pro4 connected to it @ 5k since January 2017 with no problems. I did opt for the two year Geek protection. I hope this helps you in your decision to purchase in this device.

We always had issues with getting the speed that we were paying for. Our carrier guarantees 100 Mbps directly from the modem. We would rarely would get more than 50 Mbps. Now with the Nighthawk X10, we are getting 134+ Mbps wirelessly (Wi-Fi) throughout the (2 story) house with over 20+ devices and 8 hard wired devices. This thing is lighting fast. I scraped two older duel-band routers for this X-10 and love it. I didn’t realize that modems ware-out (degrade) and this was the bottle neck to bandwidth the whole time.

Perfect for my small digital editing shop

This device works great both wirelessly and wired. We have 4+ mobile devices + 4 telecommuting users + 4K 100% steaming TV. There is never a bottleneck in our home. I cannot speak to the 802.11ad band because I don't have any devices that use that band. This router connects directly to my NAS with a fiber channel (SFP+). This is required for working with large video and image files directly on the NAS. I use the link aggregation on my iMac to the router (Ethernet + Thunderbolt to Ethernet Adapter). This increase transfer rate between my iMac and my NAS. There is no lag between opening and saving files on my NAS this way. This router saved me from having to buy an enterprise level switch and/or router to edit files on my NAS. The alternative is to copy the files to my local computer, edit them and then copy them back to the NAS. This saves me so much time and an extra layer of file management. NOTE: If you are buying this for the fiber channel please make sure you have a device that supports SFP+ or you are wasting your money. The router DOES NOT come with the fiber SFP+ cable. Best Buy didn't sell it at the time of purchase. 4 stars because of not having the cable and it was a pain searching for one. NOTE: The NETGEAR EAX20 (AX1800) Wi-Fi Range Extender works flawlessly as a mesh extender to this router.
