Had previous version of their best router. Needed an extender to have adequate coverage in the house. Replaced it with this new unit and eliminated the need for the extender and saw 35% speed improvement.

The speed is amazing. Works in the house down the street and around the corner. I was hesitant on spending so much. But well worth it. X8. Equals amazing.

This is probably the fastest router I've ever owned. Coupled with our 1gig line from the ISP provider and it smokes! Great coverage across a 2-story house, even with multiple devices connected to it!

Very pleased with ease of setup, options, signal strength, and bandwidth capacity. Easily supports all of my devices at max speed, now just wish my providers 40mb download speeds were 4x faster.

This router is extremely fast and powerful. Moved up from a Cisco "N" home router that gave somewhat spotty performance to this router about 1 year ago. Very easy setup. Downloads went from 10-20 Mbps with the cisco, to over 175 Mbps and sometimes up to 200Mbps as reported by my OOKLA speed test app. I now have full power in my back yard where previously I barely had any signal at all. I would defininitely recommend this to a friend.

Brought this Router thinking I was going to get better range, since we have recently brought a 4K TV and it uses more bandwith. There was not that much of a difference between the old AC1900 Nighthawk Smart WiFi Router that we replace this router with. This router is much larger then the AC1900 and it has three active antennas. Like I said I did not see much of a difference. The plus side is that this router has Dual Gigabit Ethernet Port Aggregation. Both the AC1900 and this router has it were you can setup a guest network and also the Genie App that you can control the router with. If your not going to use the Dual Gigabit Ethernet Port Aggregation I would recommend the AC1900.

89 Plus devices connected, no latency, quick connect and the net flies. I connected smart device, pads, cameras, switches PC's and other network switches. USB network drives connected to USB ports x2. Two Gigabit LAN ports make connections between switches really fast! Has the fastest processor out of all current WiFi routers. I can drive half way up the block, and my iPhone still has wifi.

I bought this to replaced the Nighthawk R7000. It was well worth the money. This router has been very reliable and fast so far. We have 20 devices including 2 XBox systems connected at the same time and it handles them all with no lag. I can be at any point in my house or 1 acre yard and have a fast reliable connection. The Netgear Genie app is great also. I can block any of my kid's devices if needed, even when I am not home.

If your reading this, them you arent an expert, so ill keep it simple. Plenti of settings to play with that may take a while to setup, but pretty easy to get things going. Range is great, handles all my 14 devices easily. Finally fixed my xbox1 lag playing infinite warfare, that all the 2 in 1 routers from twc/spectrum could not even with 60meg internet. It does get warm, so keep it where it can get air movement.

Purchased this router to replace a Netgear NightHawk 1700, noticed a speed increase with wireless connectivity using speedtest, com. Some older devices have will not connect to the second 5g network channels but will connect to the lower 5G channels. So far this has been an excellent router, waiting for future firmware updates from Netgear to enhance performance.

Bought this to replace an x6 the x6 was good but the x8 has better range and seems to be faster on the 5 ghz bands. This is about the tenth router I've purchased but is by far the best. It's got a big footprint but also has big performance. I have 300mbps download and 20mbps upload, but consistently test over 350 and 25

I'm no techie and this router was easy to set up, easy to customize and has worked like a charm (meaning I haven't had to do anything with it since the day I set it up)! Expensive, but worth price for the speed, ability to effortlessly handle three PCs, one MAC, one HP printer, three Ipads, and four Iphones simultaneously. Recommend using high end cables where possible for maximum performance.

I've always been a big fan of Linksys routers till recently. Had one that was doing weird things that forced me to reboot it about once a week. Enter in this Netgear x8 that took its place. All I can say is wow. Speed: check Quality: check Cool web features: check And high security to boot I am thoroughly impressed with this router. Config took a bit to get through because I like to do a lot with mine (I'm a network admin by trade). But once complete, well worth the time it took to setup. I would highly recommend this router. Even at the higher price to other routers.

This is a very expensive router. There is no way around that. However, with this product you will get a device that has superior range and performance. Mine is in a closet on the first floor and I get tremendous throughput at every point in my rather large home. I have 3 Nest thermostats and 7 Nest protects, a SkyBell HD, several phones, a tablet and a laptop that may all be wirelessly connected at once. The connection never drops, which has been a problem with previous routers I have owned. I also have a Philips Hue hub, an AT&T Microcell, 4 TVs and 2 computers that are hardwired to the device. Needless to say, we pass a ton of data through this device and it works amazingly well. I would highly recommend this product.
