This mesh router really resolved my connectivity issues at my home. I was using the nighthawk router for last 4 or 5 years never really had major issues until recently after upgrading my internet service. It was constantly dropping and rebooting with the more devices connected to it. It couldn’t keep up. I was not getting the speed what I was supposed to from my service provider. That’s why I started doing some research on the mesh router to solve the range and speed issues. After comparing to the other router on the market I came up with the conclusion to buy this and I don’t regret it. It’s working great and great value. Having an IT background I have done some testing. It’s working great.
Setup was super easy – Just connect to the power outlet, download the app, and follow the setup up process.

I bought the Orbi system for the primarily the extended range. I did extensive research and I wanted to be in the sub $500 price point. I went to my local best buy and just happened to talk to a person who had pretty good knowledge and she personally had the EERO system. But after going home and researching a bit, the orbi was just more features for the price.
This Orbi system ended up being near the top of that price point but the features were well worth the extra cost versus the Eero, Linksys, and TPLink. All of which I'm sure would of been just fine, but I've ran multiple speed tests and for the most part it doubled my speeds from everywhere in the house. I haven't been outside yet, due to weather, but I expect it to perform the same way.
The main features I really liked about this was the tri band, the square footage range, the wifi 6 tech and the ease of set up. It was very easy to set up, but you do have to download the Netgear Orbi app but it actually makes it super easy. I did have to call Netgear for a question regarding my Verizon Fios modem/router and the connection and they were great and even called me back an hour later to make sure everything was working right and I was happy, so super impressed with them!
All in all, the ease of set up, features and price point were a no brainer for me.
FYI, this goes on sale for @$450, so wait for the sale.

Oh my these are my savior. Picture attached is one of three in house. My house is 3,500 sq ft and with verizon fios internet i would only get one bar in my whole house even standing next to verizon router. And thats with Verizon's fast internet router etc! yet my neighbors house 200 yards away i could see had 4 bars at my house! I asked him what he had said he bough these Orbi satellites. Anyhow I now have max bars, outside too all over our acre and half! We have 5 tvs in house 6 or 7 computers, no idea how many Alexa devices and cameras out side that all use internet! Prob over 50 devices on internet its insane I know but 5 kids things just get crazy! My dishwasher, oven, even refrigerator and outdoor lighting use internet! So yeah needed a massive boost and these were answer! Get them! Expensive but worth it and you can add more satellites down road too so and you have more devices etc. but have to say with just three its gives my 5 bars everywhere.

Previous router had range limitations - picked one of these up and we have full ip6 down the street. Simple to install and the speeds are as quick as hardwired.

I needed coverage for at least 5000 sq ft. My AT&T extenders were not stong enough so I opted for the Orbi. I had immediate coverage with speeds in the 200+Gb at the farthest location on a 1st floor location. (Router located on 2nd floor in extreme opposite end of home). I've used orbi in the past with one satellite, but the 2 satellites really get the job done.

We are a tech-heavy house and while we have not fully adopted the “Internet of Things”, I do have around 35 devices connecting to the Internet. What makes it worse, is that both my wife and I work from home in the IT industry with constant Zoom/Teams meetings all day. Our setup provides the primary connection in our living room, which is on the far end of a 4000 square-foot home, with her office on the other end and mine in the basement. So to get the coverage we needed, I have tried the Nighthawk series with a wired backbone to extenders that still was not able to provide the proper speeds and stability that I have seen with this system.
My setup provides a wired backbone from the main router to the first satellite and a second wire backbone to the basement office switch. The third satellite has been set up beside my wife’s desk in which she has her work PC hardwired. We have noticed that using this connection we are hitting around 700 mb download speed off of our 1gb network in all locations (I do wonder if this would be faster if the processor within the router was stronger than a 1.4 GHz quad-core). So some drop rate is to be expected, but unlike our previous Nighthawk system, we no longer have DNS issues.
The only disadvantage I’ve seen is that during the first week, it seemed a little slow to respond to the devices being connected. Each time a device was to re-connect there was a lag before it would set the internet would connect. But this has gone away and it is performing beyond my expectations.

Had dead zones all over my house. Did some research and reviews.Found this model seemed solid from what i was reading. Was totally surprised how good this works for me. I have wifi in places that had none at all and even in those Im getting great DL speeds.i bought 2 satellites. That covers approximately 7,000 ft. Maybe a bit of overkill but myself and 2 relatives live with me and we all work from home. No weird restarts like my old hardware, no dead zones, no problems at all. Its really been good for us. Just follow the instruction carefully and you should be up and running shortly depending on how many you have to set up. I had all 3 up in about a half hour . Would definitely recommend.

As a technician for AT&T, i have fiber and have been using the newest modem and mesh network that we offer with my gig speeds. I bave always had almost perfect service. The only reason i would change from our equipment is bc i have so many devices and that is the one thing we haven’t conquered yet. Most people dont have that many devices. The speeds i was getting was up to 800 or so up and down. I cant get more than mid 400’s with the orbi and i have tried just avout everything. If u care about speed bc u have fiber speeds then dont get this. I am reaching out to them about this problem so if somehow they can fix this huge problem i will change my review.

So, the Netgear Orbi AX4200 was my 3rd attempt at a wifi mesh network. I started with Google Home WiFi, total crap. Then I got the Motorola Q11 system, again crap. Now, the Netgear Orbi? Well, let's just say I've never been happier. One major difference with the Orbi system from all others is how it reserves a channel for backhaul to communicate exclusively with the satellites. This channel is unavailable to us end users. And this magnificent piece of tech genius has proven worthwhile. Oh, what's that? You want to backhaul with cat cable? Not a problem, there are multiple ports available! The range is amazing, the setup is great, the app is not only easy to use, but it actually provides all necessary data. I live in a tri-level house on 8 acres. I can get wifi all throughout my house on all levels, outside in my pole barn which is about 200' away from the closest receiver and throughout my yard, behind trees, up in trees, by the doghouse. It's amazing. Now, these bad boys are huge as far as mesh satellites and routers go. But I don't care. They work and they work flawlessly every day, every night it just works. I've had this installed for about 2 months now and have had no issues. Hopefully it continues for years down the road.

4 Stars - Nearly Flawless Mesh Wifi with Speed

The product works in the sense that the router and its satellites provide high speed internet which is no joke. I use the AX4200 orbi system and I only pay for 400 mbps through my provider, but when I set up the orbi system, the speed went up to 450 mbps right away. The only minus with the orbis I have is that my devices don't always switch between the satellites automatically the way they're supposed to. To fix this, I have to turn the wifi on my laptop off and then on again, and when it comes on it will usually connect to the nearest satellite with no problem. And luckily, due to technology being faster these days, that only takes about 15 seconds to do. However, for a system that costs almost $500, I would hope that the system transfers my devices to the appropriate router or satellite automatically without needing any action, the way it's advertised to work and the way a mesh system is designed to work. Luckily, this only happens with my laptop and I don't take my laptop around my house very often, so it's kind of an invisible issue. That being said, the Orbi's are a great mesh wifi system that I would highly recommend to others. And who knows, maybe mine are just lemons in terms of switching to satelties when your move rooms. But even still, it's fixable with 15 seconds of effort if I do need to fix it. So yea, 4 stars for that reason. Their customer service was at least pretty helpful in helping me identify what was going on with my devices. And they are the ones who told me to try turning wifi off and on again on my device which ultimately fixes the issue at hand. Again, not ideal for a $500 system, but more or less a minor inconvenience that's rarely even noticeable because of my usage.

I have been a Netgear customer for over ten years and when I’ve tried different brands to get a better connection at my house it always goes wrong! Not with this amazing mesh system my household is using the best speeds I have ever seen on Wi-Fi network up to 1gig download speeds! Great job guys. No drops like with other brands (TP) junk. If you have network connectivity issues or dropping Wi-Fi signal try this device you will have stability and reliability.

It took a little longer than normal to set up the new mesh network but once it was set up, it was great! It was such a huge step up from our previous Netgear Nighthawk X10 R9000 router where we had to use Negear Powerlines to get to rooms beyond the range since we had no existing CAT-5/6 cabling. Now, there is no spot in our home that wasn't covered and the speed and throughput was consistent everywhere. We have a 1GB Google Fiber Internet line and the Orbi AX4200 handles it with ease. It was a lot more pricey than my original plan to upgrade my router with a newer router but given its excellent performance and the Netgear Armor security feature that comes with it, I'm now glad I went in a different direction and purchased the Orbi mesh system!
