Customers regard the Orbi AC2200 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System highly for its ease of use, extensive coverage and range, and strong signal strength, leading to consistently good performance and reliable WiFi. The setup process is also praised for its simplicity. However, a common concern is the relatively high price point.

Got this for my parents, as they are paying for Verizon Fios (1 Gbps, or 1000 mbps) internet and were only getting anywhere from 10 - 200 mbps with the Verizon Fios Gateway modem/router combo (as expected - modem/router combos are not very powerful). I turned off the wireless router portion of the Verizon modem/router combo, and now not only are they getting 800 - 900 mbps consistently, they are getting consistent wireless speed across the house, including the upstairs room thanks to the satellite. The Orbi app is also extremely user-friendly, and has a variety of easy-to-navigate features (including an internet speed test, which matched up with Verizon's speed test we did online).
Always invest in a separate router if you can. ISPs generally provide very poor hardware. Verizon also has a very helpful PDF online for setting up an Orbi mesh network with their equipment, so use that to guide you if you have Fios. Great product Netgear; I will buy from you again when I have my own home!

Read the directions and follow them. Had some issues setting it up at first when skipping steps. After starting over and following each step and not working ahead everything worked great. We have a 3600 sqft home and 3/4 of an acre yard. I now have signal on our entire property. Small issues with smart home linking up to the 5 ghz signal but got it dialed in after restarting some systems. Next wifi signal we have ever had. Can be wired to extend range as well. Instructions for that are on net.

We used to have a Linksys Dual Band router that should’ve been able to handle the 300MB download speed. But that was unable to even go above 100 even after working with Linksys and having them replace it a few times. After getting this we have better coverage with more speed. We now average over 250MB download with 2 people working from home and streaming all at the same time. The setup process took less than 10 minutes compared to Linksys which took twice as long

before I bought this I was getting about 70mbps on wifi. I have a 200 mbps plan. After setting this up all day, throughout my entire 3700 sq ft house I have within 30 mbps of 200. Handles my work computer, my phone, wife's work and personal computers and phone, 4 laptops and an iPad for the kids schooling and still handles everything like a charm, no lagging. Also including an Xbox one gaming online. Very easy to set up, instructions all in the app!

We have an 1800 sq foot home with the router on the opposite side or the house from our offices and the speeds were really low (60 mbps) before with 500/500 speed. After installing, both of us are experiencing speeds close to 500/500. Easy to install, but a little pricey. Otherwise worth it if you can afford it. Am sure the wi-fi 6 and ax speed versions have more features but if you are looking for basic mesh this will do the trick

I have an office in the basement and wanted to improve wifi signal in the house. This worked perfectly and was the best value for performance as it was a three pack. Easy set up. Mixed feelings on the orbi security software that you can activate. It has blocked sites when I was trying to do online ordering on legit sites...took a while to figure out why I couldn't complete my order. Other than that, I really like it.

I have been a programmer and systems administrator for 40 years and I'm responsible for my company's work from home support team. My previous router worked well but occasionally cut out or provided poor coverage in our apartment. The Orbi was easy to setup, the mesh technology provides great coverage and speed everywhere. The price was high but Best Buy's remote order and pickup made the transaction easy.

I had constant slow internet issues with my network using WiFi Extenders that didn’t fix blind spots. I originally went with the Google Nest system that included 3 satellites from Costco which was overkill since my house is only 1300 sq feet. Initially worked great as I was getting 200+Mbps but after a few hours, speeds went as low as 0.5Mbps which I didn’t even think was possible! I had to constantly reboot the entire system to fix the issue only for it to return a couple of days later.
After a month with going back and forth with Google support with no resolution, I decided to return the entire system and bought the Netgear Orbi with 2 satellites. Setup was easy and as soon as I hooked it up, got 230+Mbps speeds from router and each satellite. Was a little cautious at first since I also got those speeds from Google Nest initially but I’m happy to say that after a month of owning the Orbi, my WiFi network has never been better. Speeds at maximum 230+ Mbps consistently with no interruption in service. A little expensive but well worth it if you need to fix your slow network and blind spots.

I went to Best Buy to buy a new wireless router that was damaged in a storm, and expressed to the guy that I continued to have trouble with coverage in my 3000sf house even though I had a nice ranger extender. He suggested that I consider a mesh wifi system. I had never considered it because of the cost...and I thought it was just fancy range extender technology (...it's not). Despite the higher cost, I decided to bite the bullet. I bought the Orbi 3-pack set that supposedly covers 6000sf. I figured to give it a try, thinking I would probably end up bringing it back to buy a regular wireless router.
The Orbi system was a breeze to set up. Basically, I just plugged the base and 2 satellites in, and they set themselves up. Once they were set up, I connected to the network to run a wifi speed test app on my phone. I have 100mbps service through Spectrum. My desktop is hard-wired into the router and routinely records a speed of 117mbps. I walked all over my house running the wifi speed test on my phone and got the same 117mbps on my wifi everywhere I went. (I used to get about 17-20mbps from the extender.)
I've only had the system for a week, so can't say anything about longevity. But in my opinion, getting excellent signal strength and desktop-equivalent speed has been well worth the higher price.

I bought the Orbi tri-band mesh system to replace a 10-year old Nighthawk router. The setup couldn't be easier, and the coverage is what's the most impressive. I placed one unit on each floor of the house (split-level) for full coverage and blazing speeds in every corner of my property.

Bought the Orbi to replace a TP-LINK wireless router that wasn’t delivering a strong signal to the basement or Ring doorbell of our 80 year old house with plaster walls.
Installation was very simple—plug everything in (power, LAN cords), download true Orbi app, scan a QR code and the system pretty much set itself up. The only thing I had to do was set a few passwords. We’re now getting the speed we’re paying Xfinity for (over 200 Mbps on wireless when we got ~70 Mbps before) and the speed and signal in our basement and on the porch are solid.
The reason for the 4 stars is that their firmware upgrade process isn’t seamless. Update though the app didn’t work so I had to download the files to my computer and then upgrade. After the upgrade, both satellites connected to the router rather than SAT2 connecting to SAT1 and the signal for SAT2 was poor. From the Orbi customer forums I learned that a factory reset is recommended after a firmware update—I reset the system and it’s now connected in the daisy chain format it was initially and I again have good signal on SAT2. Also learned that it may be better to hold off on firmware updates if the system is working well.

Full disclosure: I bought this 2 years ago and waited to review until now. I spent a couple months researching mesh systems, reading tech reviews and consumer reviews. My previous system was an aged Nighthawk with an even more aged hard wired Netgear router setup as an extender. I addition I had a Bitdefender Box II to cover security for the entire network. There were areas in my home with weak signals and because of the age of the equipment I frequently had to reboot everything. Even in it's newer days that setup still left something to be desired. The Orbi setup was ridiculously easy and because of the built in Armor security I was able to do away with the Bitdefender Box. The performance has been consistently outstanding. I couldn't be more pleased.

Easy to install. Just plug it in and go. Paired with the Arris modem, we are realizing the full 1 GBps from our Comcast Xfinity internet service. Flawless! And the Orbi and Circle apps are great for setting up parent controls and filters for devices. And the coverage is great.

I had a netgear 6900 with a linksys extender at my front door (down a flight of stairs from where router was) and it didn’t really work well for August door and ring doorbell. I barely made it through ring setup and even after setup it would always say poor connection. Note I previously had a different outdoor webcam that didn’t seem to have as poor connection. Anyway ring made me look for an upgrade and I decided rather going all out went for cheaper orbi but with two units since master bedroom was also a poor signal area (even when the router was in master closet!). Orbi setup was pretty easy. Pro tip if you already have existing devices on two to four networks is to choose the name most devices are on, or most difficult to setup devices are on). I chose my 5g name first but then went back and renamed since I have more smart devices on old 2.4 name. Put a unit at the door where the linksys extender was and signal strength is much stronger now. Ring doorbell isn’t complaining anymore. Also master bath signal is fine (but it is also probably helped since I can wire that satellite).

I took about 4 months before writing this review, wanted to really see the value of this purchase. Orbi didn’t disappoint.
Just around the middle of pandemic working from home was a major challenge with kids watching movies online, office video calls etc. I was looking for an option to be able to freely stream and use the speed available from internet provider. I am glad I bought Orbi. It extended my network across the home from basement to top floor and not dropping connections any time.
Pros: easy to setup, easy to add more satellites if required, blocking of spam sites attack and it’s Regular alert. Through mobile app it’s easy to see which devices are connected to which satellite.
Cons: Looking at the satellite it’s difficult to know if satellite is on or not.

The router and the satellites have ended my suffering of 2 years with my old router (provided by the internet company). No more problems with slow connection, dropped signal, no internet, etc. If I want to share my internet, it creates a guest network. I can share my internet with guests using my phone to send them the access authorization without having to remember what the password was. Set up was easy, just download the app and follow the directions to connect the router and the satellites. I have plugged more than 40 devices (Sonos speakers, 3 iphones, 3 laptops, 3 Tv's, 4 Eufy cameras, Ring doorbell, Alexa speakers etc) It handles all the connections without any problem. Covers the 2600 square feet of my house plus 2000 additional square feet for the garden cameras.

I have ATT Fiber, and I was using one of their extenders to cover my house which is about 3000 sq ft. My signal was good before I switched to the Orbi, but the att modem/router could not handle all the devices I had on it. Devices would randomly drop off Wi-Fi or run really slow. We are a family of 7 so we have a lot of devices, anywhere between 40-50. I have smart home devices, lights, and cameras. They all worked but they were slow. So I deceived to try the orbi. The entire family is glad I did. Signal improved even though I wasn’t looking for that. Speeds are finally what I paid for, no matter how many devices I have on it. So glad I got this. I wasn’t sure if I wanted the ac or the ac router, but since ax is new and not many devices will be able to take advantage of that, and because the ax cost so much more, I went with the ac standard with 2 satellites. Finally Wi-Fi isn’t something I have to worry about everyday!

I live in what can be called a rambling ranch home. I previously was working with a Netgear combination modem/router with a Netgear Extender to service another part of my home, although with one extender, I didn’t have total coverage over the whole home. Additionally, when I moved a device, mobile phone, notebook computer, whatever, I’d need to change my network to connect with the extender’s network, a minor inconvenience but an inconvenience nonetheless. With the Orbi Mesh system 3 pack I’m now able to get coverage over my entire home from one end to the other. Importantly, the need to connect to an extended network is no longer necessary. When I move from one end of my home to the other end, Orbi seamlessly takes care of connecting to another satellite without my having to do it.
And...setup was a piece of cake.
I highly recommend this product for a large home.
