We purchased this Orbi unit when our WiFi router started giving spotty performance, and couldn’t be more pleased with it. It resolved traditionally poor performance in our upstairs bedrooms in the 2100 sq. ft. home, as well as faster connection speeds everywhere. Since our internet connection was 200MB/sec at the time, this unit easily gave us all our cable company could provide.
When we bought a new single story home that was about 700 sq. ft. larger, we gave this unit to our son and purchased the next unit up from this one with similar results. Most WiFi devices we have are not capable of using all of the bandwidth our gigabit connection provides in our new home, but internet speed is not an issue anywhere - including outside (we have about .4 acres.)
The Orbi is expensive compared to some units on the market, but in my opinion it is well worth the money. I have never regretted the purchase, and during this pandemic a reliable and fast internet connection has been a blessing with the streaming services we use.

My AirPort Extreme stopped delivering the speeds that it should, not sure why so I thought I would try the mesh network to see if it really will do what they say it will. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to set up through the app, and how well I have coverage through my 2,400 sq ft house with one room upstairs. I now have significant speeds throughout my home. It is now like I have a dedicated router with full speeds in separate rooms in the house. My extreme was great but the further you got away from it like with any router I lost speed. I also like that the satellites have Ethernet out ports on the back of them, so that you could hardwire devices to it if you wanted to, but my speeds are so good I don’t even need to. I did have to call customer service and change a couple of settings as I was getting an error message on some websites that said 404 error not found, but with a simple tweak everything is fine now.

Setup was a little complicated and unresponsive at times. But after resetting and starting over a few times the device performs amazing. Having the main router and lower level of home with one satellite wired through Ethernet. That is around 30 ft away and then another one that is out in the garage which is about another 30 feet away getting full download speeds and upload speeds of my ISP Max 200 Max per second. This device also allows you to connect to modem/ router as an access point only allowing the main modem/router to assign IP addresses. The orb app is a great necessity, you can name all devices to see what's connected and disconnected to what satellite also separating the type of connection such as wired 2.4G and 5G. You can also use the Netgear Genie app. Great product for the price customer service or customer support was probably one of the lacking items. Troubleshooting was mostly done by myself just really wanted to see what they would say and of course they said contact your ISP for that is the issue you were having unfortunate that was incorrect. But they pushed it as if that was the only solution. Eventually figured out the issue support never returned my call.

Poor Installation Instructions

I purchased a new 4K UHD smart television from Best Buy and had it installed by the Geek Squad. My connection to the TV was to be solely by wifi. My Comcast router signal was less than 25 mbps at the television and thus unable to support the required data flow. The installers recommended I purchase an Orbi router to boost my connection speeds and I immediately went back to Best Buy and purchased an Orbi AC2200 3 pack.
I admit that I am not technically savvy, but the installation instructions are terrible. I downloaded the app on my smart phone and repeatedly went through the installation process. Finally, after two hours, I thought it was successfully installed. The app attempted to do a firmware update, but it failed. Then the app asked me if I wanted to change my password and I did. Immediately, the entire Orbi router lost it's connection and I was unable to get it to respond to my attempts. I had to manually reset the router and then it would respond, but I could not get it installed. At this point, I had wasted about three hours and was ready to return the product to Best Buy. However, at that time, one of the installers phoned me looking for a tool he had lost. I explained my problem and he offered to come back the next morning to install the router (for an additional fee.) I agreed, and they came the next morning to install it. It took them a couple of hours to get everything running.
My house is single story and just over 4000 square feet and I bought a router to support a 6000 square foot house. At one point, I moved the satellite across the room and then two hours later, there was no internet connection in the room where the new TV was located. I had plenty of data speed, over 46 mbps, but no internet and it was working in the rest of the house. I called the Geek Squad and they said to try moving the satellite, so I moved it back to the original position and internet service was restored to that room.
I went to the Netgear website while I was trying to install and instructions said old wifi must be turned off. The installers said that was bogus and it would require Comcast reset my security system if I did that. Today, I have both the old and new routers running wifi successfully. All in all, while I'm not great with new technology, I am an educated adult and it should not have been such a torture to simply install a router.
Additional problems with the Orbi AC2200 3 pack:
1) product is visually intrusive (main is 8"x7"x3.5" & satellites are 7"x6"x2.5")
2) wall plugs are oversized and require too much distance for furniture placement when in use
3) not sure the emitted light signal is accurate (since I had no light signal when I lost my internet connection)
Pros for the Orbi AC2200 3 pack:
1) greatly improved wifi speed throughout my house (download speed of 80 mbps at furthest distance from router & others avg 170 mbps)

I was really hesitant spending so much on a router but I am so happy. I also bought a 3.1 modem and I feel future proof for a while. The coverage and speed is excellent everywhere in my home. Simple set up. I only have a 100mps Internet plan yet it get 118 mps all over the house wirelessly.

Upgraded to these units after bumping my ISP speed to 250Mbps and figuring out that my legacy Apple Airport was a bottleneck, limiting my bandwidth to around 30Mbps per device. Speeds immediately went through the roof - speed test results were showing spikes slightly above 250 Mbps on multiple devices. Setup took about 15 minutes, which included unboxing and placing all 3 units. I was impressed with the fact that while setup is easy, folks that want to see the more advanced options can still do so after the initial setup. The mesh creates between these units is flawless so far - I’ve been using them for about 3 weeks now and even when on an active VOIP Work call, I can move from one access point to another with no interruption. Very happy!

Great seamless coverage of our house

We purchased this Orbi 3-piece system to replace our previous Netgear wifi routers in our house and it is working great! Our old system consisted of 2 wifi routers at opposite ends of the house and another connected via a wireless bridge to our shop garage. All those old routers used different network names (though one configured as the primary DHCP server). We had to reset one or all of the routers and the modem several times a week, as devices would stop maintaining a connection, and the handoff between routers had to be handled manually. No suitable adjustment of power levels between the routers gave us a good, long lasting result.
No longer! With the Orbi mesh network installed, we have been running for a week with great wifi throughout the house and shop, and seamless handoff between the main router and satellite access points. The wired backhaul connection insures we get the fastest speeds from wifi connections to the satellites, too (wired backhaul is not an option on some other mesh wifi offerings, so this was an important feature for our purchase as we run an ethernet connection between the router and the satellites). We use the main router and one satellite to cover the house, and the remaining satellite was installed in the shop garage (connected via the wireless bridge). The whole house is on one network ID now, so there is no manipulating the connection on the device in order to keep a good signal.
The setup was simple: connect and power up the main router, then connect the ethernet line to the satellite and turn it on - the system registers and activates the satellites automatically! Or, use the wifi connection only (this system uses a separate wireless channel for the backhaul, then) and it's all set.

The Orbi RBK43 Base and two satellites set up was easy, so my daughter tells me, and now each part of the house has a signal of 5 bars and very high speed connections to the Internet.
I just checked and right now the speed is 585 Mbps on my basement computer under a cement floor behind a cinder block wall 40 feet from the Base Station that is on the first floor with the basement satellite about 20 feet away The satellite on the second floor does the same for upstairs. WOW.
We can have 10 or so Wifi connections going with TV's, cellphones, and tablets. Before Orbi the basementI got as low as 9 or 26 Mbps and 2 bars when all three of us were home using the Internet. With the 9 Mbps Internet Streaming usually stopped in the basement and with the 26 Mbps watching a streaming show was torture due to the buffering.
That's no longer a problem.

An Apple Airport was throttling my d/l speed and wifi coverage. The ORBi Tri-Band changed my d/l speed from 70Mbps to 118 Mbps and covered the whole house plus a deck and patio. Setup was easy-easy, and the ORBi did it all.

This is an awesome router, set up was super easy and it significantly improved speed in every room in my house. Some things I didn't know before getting this that I really love about it that set it apart from other high end routers:
The LED's on top shut off after a minute if everything is working and only come on if there is a problem. This is awesome as you can have it in your room without it bothering you.
It also combines the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands into the same DNS as well so you never have to worry about if you need to be on the fast network or the better range one (Although this is a more common feature these days).
I do wish the app was a little faster to load though.

Moving from my Nighthawk router to my first mesh router did not help the slow speeds, or disconnects of devices on my network. My next move was to purchase the Orbi. I initially found disconnecting devices continued, although less often. I obtained two sessions of support while using various module configurations and tweaking the router channels and that eventually led to consistent speeds without lag and stability of my home network. The other issue of having dead zones is eliminated too. I an told I bought more router than I need, but I don't mind that I have coverage not only in my home but in my yard too. It's nice to have a router that with adequate support became a great solution for our 17 device home network.

This is the second Orbi I purchased and installed at a client house. This one was installed in a house with 2 floors. It's about 4000 Sqft and the modem is in the living room which is not really the middle of the house. I put one in the living room by the modem, one upstairs and one in the den office area. So far the client has been happy with the installation and has commented that the speed has increased.
Installation was a breeze. Just used my phone by downloading the ORBI app. Follow the instructions and you are good to go.
Coverage is great. Speed is above average. More than what a regular family would need.

After reading other reviews I was a little concerned, but gave it a try. Purchased to no hassle return policy just in case. Glad I did because the Samsung Smart TV would not work wirelessly. Router could find it fine, but the TV could not. Returned first unit (no hassle what so ever) and got the model with ethernet attachment to the satellite unit. Installed in ten minutes with great performance (4200 SF two level house). I can even hook up my Traeger wireless controlled grill outside. Now I can get Prime, HULU, Netflix, etc on smart TV (have to be ethernet commented).

So I got this in place of my CenturyLink Modem, since I am in an apartment and my baby monitor is Wi-Fi the current CL provided modem wouldn't keep the webcam connected. I got this for better signal strength. All my devices are wireless and probably no more than 50 ft from the router. On a 100Mbps connection all my devices were pulling 30-50Mbps. My desktop is like 12ft and couldn't get higher. This device I was able to get around 80-100+Mbps. It has amazing security functionality for kids which I don't need to use yet. It is easy to setup and the iOS app is easy to navigate.

This was a great purchase. I wanted a router which could easily provide wifi access throughout a house over 6k square footage. The previous routers had required 6 different parts to get clear uninterrupted signals. The ORBI may initially appear a bit pricey it is well worth it and will save money in the end compared to the number of other routers you have to buy to cover the same large amount of space. Some other benefits is the ease of setup, beautiful and sleek look with pleasing and calming light. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great product.

I was hesitant to decommission the existing switches, routers, and extenders that have been deployed over many years, but rebooting devices was becoming a daily chore. Although our house is not that large, we have several devices that require hard-wired connections, and the WiFi signals were not consistently available everywhere. All of the issues have been resolved with the installation of the Netgear Orbi devices (AC2200 3-pack).
The setup was as easy as they advertise. One caveat: if you choose to keep the same WiFi SSN name, be certain that the existing devices are all shutdown. To their credit, the Netgear app and instructions made it clear how to untangle the confusion if this is not done.
We took advantage of the free on-site consulting that Best Buy suggested. The review of our requirements and the hardware available to service it was very helpful, and resulted in a different purchase (Orbi 3-pack vs. Orbi 2-pack) which has made our network much better.
Speed and availability are better than they have ever been, and we have not had to touch the Orbi devices since we installed them.
The Orbi devices are large compared to others, but they quickly disappeared behind other decorations. Not an issue.
Our requirements included 5 hard-wired devices, and 10 - 12 WiFi devices including an Amazon Fire Cube (suggested by Best Buy consultant and much appreciated.) Applications include two active offices, two televisions, and 5 or more laptops, phones, and tablets, and one gamer :-) All are getting transparent access without issue.
Worth the expense, and thank you Best Buy.

My Netflix download problem seems to have been corrected with the use of the Netgear Orbi System. I don't experience any lag or rebooting as I have in the past with my previous router. My speed has actually doubled since installing this unit with the satellites. The BestBuy associate was very helpful and knowledgeable about the unit and I appreciated that. If you have Netflix or any other streaming programs, I would highly recommend this system. It also supports several devices at the same time. It's a bit pricey but well worth it with all of the technology available to us today.

I bought this system because my cable modem and router are downstairs, but my office is upstairs and the connection constantly dropped. I no longer have to worry about dropping connections and the Orbi system has increased our speed over WiFi so we can now get the speeds we have been paying for! No more complaints the internet is slow! I work from home a lot so I cannot lose connection! I highly recommend this system to any and all who are having the issues I was having. Finally, it was so simple to setup this system, anyone can handle setting it up!

These Orbi Mesh Wifi units are awesome. I set them up in a three story townhome and the signal strength was perfect in every corner of every floor. The Orbi app makes managing your network easy and also helps with shutting off access when the kids try to sneak in some screen time. The only challenge with these units is synching them in the right order if you use the daisy chain setup and experience a power outage or move hardware around.
