This router replaced my ailing Asus 1900n router (may she rest in peace.) Being a heavily connected family, we required something with the extra 'oomph' to handle our myriad of wifi-enabled devices. The Orbi definitely fit the bill, at least on paper, so we purchased a single unit (our house is just at 2,000 square feet.) Pro: Range-wise, the unit lives up to it's claims. Sitting out in driveway I still receive just as good connectivity as I do in the bedroom (the unit being in the kitchen.) Appearance-wise this is a unit that looks like it should be small and cute, but it's actually quite large - heavy too. Thankfully, while it towers over my old router, the color is an unobtrusive white matte finish. Set up was easy and hassle free, though it does take about 3-5minutes for the unit to fully set itself up. Cons: The only con so far has been the software. Antiquated and looking like a throwback to those 1990's websites, the interface is slow on just about any action. While it offers a lot of what Power Users like, it can be frustrating waiting for the page to refresh. Using the Genie software provided by Netgear, the Orbi seems like an aberration. While Genie works, you can definitely tell it wasn't meant for the Orbi. Hopefully Net gear comes up with updated software that offers better usability with the style a beautiful device like the Orbi deserves. In Conclusion: For a 2,000 square foot cinder block home, this unit has been able to handle heavy use all on it's own. Coverage hasn't been an issue and the nice matte finish means the router doesn't stand out as much while sitting on my kitchen counter. If you can get past the aging software interface you'll enjoy a very power-user friendly device.

This router is great and set up is the easiest I have ever used. I am only using the single Orbi router in our home which is about 2800 square feet and speed and coverage is awesome. We are not very heavy wifi users at this time but when the kids get older and more tech savvy we wanted something we could easily upgrade to get more coverage and power. I replaced a D-link ac3200 router and never looked back.

I had bought this wireless wifi router to replace my aging aris surfboard modem/router. I was skeptical and had tons of questions for the sales rep, Hannah. She answered all my questions and she even mentioned that if I didn't like it, I could return it. This wifi router is fast and covers 2000 sq ft and did I mention it's fast? It was really easy to install, just plug and play. I have numerous users that are on the wifi and my old router couldn't keep up. My only complaint is that there are only 3 wired ports for ethernet and my old router had 4, but other than that, I have no regrets! It also gives me the ability to expand if I wanted to!

Bought this for friend to enhance the speed of her internet. She lives in the country one provider slow speed. Orbi not only extended internet by 2000 feet but also increase speed. Awesome.

Excellent router fast and huge coverage no buffering at all..highly recommended

I bought Orbi to replace my Apple Airport Express - which was great but started to drop connection several times per day. Research showed some sort of glitch between the Airport and Cox (my internet provider). I also loved the idea of stronger signals for multiple devises. Set up of Orbi was super easy - and the signal does seem stronger even without the satellite. It solved the dropping issue for about 3 weeks - but now has started to drop randomly. Still digging for a cause - noted on support forums that others are experiencing this as well. I did purchase a 2nd unit for a residence in another state that is 2 story and set up the satellite there and it works great - it has not dropped at all and the signal is super strong everywhere. So high level its a great option - but need to solve for the random dropping.

Just purchased NETGEAR - Orbi™ Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router (RBR50) -Just one. This covers a small two story home with no problem. (1,900sq) It really takes away the dead spot and covers outside very well too. This is just the one AC 3000 model which is perfect. The unit may be larger in size but you really cannot trade size for performance. Mesh systems will get better but this is one unit that will last due to the tri band feature.

Easy to use and has a great app. was perfect for apartment with lots of interference from neighbors routers.

We were having trouble with our cable line when we bought it. It helped us get to the problem. When there is no internet it has a noticeable red glow. Now we are fixed and it works perfectly. Great range. Love how we can add another later if we need further range. Also love it will update itself.

A little hard to get set up correctly , but once set up I have good signal all over the house now. , everything loads faster and I can stream 4k with no buffering anymore.Well worth the purchase.

Set up was easy. The unit looks stylish so I don't want to hide it. Still have some slow moments from my room but this is the farthest distance from the unit. Plus there are several walls between. Overall, I get signal in my room where before I wasn't able to go more than 8 feet from my previous router. I still believe the problem was because I upgraded my laptop to Windows 10. Right afterwards I was unable to get wifi on it unless I was withing 5 feet of the router. But my cell, my daughter's laptop and any other wifi enabled units worked fine everywhere in the house.

The router was so fast that did not expected it...

The Netgear Orbi WiFi router streams movies to my apple TV without buffering and supports other internet activities (such as web surfing, gaming, you tube) at the same time. Great for a home with multiple connected devices.

Best deal found with low price in store..compared to online so returned the online purchase and got it from store not sure why it was for low price. works great

I have a small house but I wanted to be able to stream with no problems. However, this seemed to disrupt my signal. Once I took it off...no more problems.

Overall strength and speed is better with multiple users than with older router

I love the Orbi system. I just use the router for my 1500 sq ft home. All of my Apple HomeKit accessories are connected via this router. Everything including Phillips Hue has worked flawlessly. I connected a NightHawk Switch to the Orbi & that has been good too.

So I have gone through just about all the latest networking devices...google, eero, Velop, and the latest Linksys router. I was weary about the Orbi just because of the size but since it is hidden from plain sight I finally decided to give it a try. I prefer it over the Velop mostly due to more control over the system. The app is for setup only and everything else is done through the web interface. Performance is just as good or better than the Velop. I will be sticking with this one.

I did a speed test before I removed my older router and a speed test after I replaced it with the Netgear Orbi.My download speed is now nearly three times faster.We have three 4k tv's which we sometime stream 4k from YouTube and Netflix and no buffering at all now.We can also do this while running three iPads online at the same time,Seems it was definitely worth the money !
