I needed to get a wi-fi range extender because my house is 5000 square feet and my router is in my office upstairs but needed to hook up my smart tv in the basement. I was able to put the extender in an area in my basement where wifi reaches and then the extender made it possible to get a signal in a different part of my basement that couldn't get it before.

bought this extender because the wireless signal from my Netgear Router in my home office was being dropped when I was using a laptop in my living room. I installed the extender in my living room and have had no more problems. I am also streaming video with a Sony Blue Ray Player that I have hard wired to the extender and this is also working fine. The extender actually creates a new wireless network between itself and the wireless devices that you want to connect to it. This means that if you are using security such as WPA2-PSK you will need to create a new SSID and key that your wireless devices will use when you want them to go through the extender. I had it up and running with both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands in about 15 minutes. Most of that time was setting up the new WPA2-PSK security for the two new SSID's. The other point that may seem obvious but is worth mentioning is that even though the connection from your computer to the extender may be great all you're really getting for a connection to the internet is what the extender gets to your router. Therefore it is very important to locate it so that it is getting a good strong signal from the router. The indicator lights on the front are very helpful for this and I discovered that moving the unit just a couple of feet can have a huge impact on signal strength.

This has helped in some areas of my house. However there are still some areas in which the extended range does not seem to reach for whatever reason. It is located on my first floor where I get good reception in all rooms except my family room (where I need it most). It has helped in 3 of the 4 bedrooms upstairs. One room it has not helped.

Very simple to setup. Dual band was not need for this application but might be added later. If you do not need the dual band there are cheaper models. This is a way to expand you network coverage under a $100 and simple to setup.

Purchased extender to see if it would help with dead spots in our home. Took awhile to get setup (totally my lack of understanding) but once done, it solved my dead spot problem. I then decided to try on one of our camper vacations due to the same dead spot issues in campground we visited. This did help with connecting to the campground Wi-Fi but did not help the poor quality connection they had. Intend to try at other campgrounds we visit.

This is my third Extender to purchase in the past 5 years. I had a DLink first which wold get hot and shut down. Replaced the DLink with a Belkin which worked great for a year and then would require unplugging to reboot. This Netgear model was reviewed as the best in the price range so I bought it. Has worked great for the past month and was much easier to setup than either the DLink or Belkin.

Extremely easy to install and use and very inexpensive.
I needed an extender so I could use both my VioP phone and my 4-in-one printer/fax machine in my office.
I was immediately able to join this extender to my existing cable modem/router.
Works flawlessly.

I purchased this because my signal was weak in some parts of my house. I wasn't sure it would work because I don't fully understand how it works and I had read some reviews that didn't sound positive about "booster" in general. It does just what I needed it to do, it boosted the signal strength from two to five bars. I am very happy with this product. Instillation and set up were very easy.

It's wireless N, so it's old tech, but I knew that going in. My home speeds are only 50/50, so going AC was a lot of overkill for me. I put this in a different room that's still close to my router in order to cover a dead zone in my house. Works like a charm. No problems at all.

I needed a wifi connection for my desktop after UVerse forces me to relocate the modem/router. I considered a smalll wifi usb solution but after comparing specs and the price difference, I opted for this extender. It's great to get the benefits of the higher bandwidth and extended wifi, plus some additional Ethernet connections for my non-wifi bluray and TV. Very pleased with its performance (wish I could say the same about my internet provider).

This range extender does exactly what is promised. I know have two zones in my house. One for the original wifi set up, and then this one. Pretty cool, it does what is advertised to do, I like that.
I'm a plug and play kind of guy. This one makes for an easy set up, and I never had to touch it again, it just works.

Picked this up to augment by netgear router, since we were having signal strength issues in a two story home.
Extender really kicks it up. In fact, we get better signal from the extender on both floors than we do from the router.

I had so many dead zones in my house where the wifi would just drop out,so I checked around and looked at a lot of different options before I setteled on the NETGEAR WIFI EXTENDER. I got home read the setup paperwork and got started it took less than 15 min before it was up and running. Have great wifi service in the house now.
