Not a fan of the smaller NEW 3ds as it is too small for my hands, and the price-point is too high for what you get

but i find the overall performance not that great. had to return and exchange this multiple times through bb then nintendo to get one with a screen that didn't flicker. out of my whole ds/3ds buying experience, this was the only console that had such huge issues with the sreen.

My wife and I are a huge fan of the 3DS XL. She had the older model and I have the New 3DS XL. We both love them and have no issues out of them. My wife is an Animal Crossing addict, so this system appealed greatly too her.
Due to all the hype, I did hours of research on the console and game with all the pre-hype that each had. I quickly discovered that the system included was not the XL model, but a smaller version. The system itself is between the size of the original 3DS and the XL. It has all the newest features like the XL model. The bundle DOES NOT include the charger.
Now, to the actual opening of the bundle. The bundle comes with two different sets of face plates and rear plates, an amiibo card, the system and the digital download for the new Animal Crossing Happy Home Designers game. It does NOT include the free AC:HHD theme.
The system comes with the green colored back plate pre-installed. If you want to remove the back plate and change it to the other included plate, you’ll need a #0 Philips head screwdriver. You can pop on whichever front face plate you choose. The feeling of the plates have a smooth texture, so it feels very nice in your hands while holding. The system itself is fantastic. After several hours of playing, my wife and I are thoroughly impressed, when we thought we would not be. Our initial reaction was, "This system is too darn small." Although it is small, the graphics are very crisp and the 3D seems to pop a lot better than in the XL model. The stylus is also smaller, but you barely notice. The responsiveness of the system is worlds better than the older model 3DS. You would think since it is smaller, your hands would tend to cramp faster, but this is not the case. Due to how much lighter the system is because of the downgraded size, it seems you can play for longer periods of time without having to constantly find a comfortable position to play in. It is very enjoyable to play on this system. We highly recommend it.
The game is also fantastic. My wife and I are ACNL addicts, so we were disappointed when we discovered some of the features of the new AC:HHD game, or should I say lack thereof. Yes, you are not a mayor, you do not have your own house, you do not dig, fish, catch bugs, buy clothes, etc. The whole point of the game is to take advantage of designing homes! The updated touch control features that you use to decorate the interior, exterior and yards of the villagers houses is AMAZING. It is basically a side version of New Leaf, but you are just an employee of Tom Nook’s! This game is not set in real time, so there is no time traveling. You can do one house per day (a day last as long as it takes you to design a home) then you go inside, write your daily report and end your day. When you end your day, it will ask you if you want to continue or save and quit. So, you can essentially play non-stop! In ACNL, you tend to get overwhelmed, but this game is refreshingly busy and dialed down at the same time. There is lots to do, but it doesn’t overwhelm you. You can pick it up and put it right back down. It is just a little taste of what is to come in the next full blown AC game. If you go into this game believing that it is a sequel to New Leaf, you will be disappointed. But if you like the idea of it being a spin-off focusing solely on home designing, it is an amazingly addicting game and you will thoroughly enjoy it.

You only need this, if you don't have 3ds before. Otherwise it's the same system as regular 3ds with slight hardware upgrades.

Best (Portable) System Since Gameboy Advance SP

I held out for the smaller, New Nintendo 3DS and boy am I glad I did.
The upgraded chips (graphics and processor), upgraded screen size, new button layout, C-Stick integration, super stable 3D, customizable face plates, color way (matte finish) , everything is just better than before. Now, if you want all of this, but significantly bigger screens, go with the New 3DS XL.
However, this, to me is the perfect combination of screen sizes, hence the reason of picking one up.
This bundle is the only way to get the New 3DS, and while that doesn't sound too appealing, it's great value, and the game is a good one (Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer). It doesn't come with an AC Adapter so make sure to pick one up.
The only downside to this console is the bundle itself doesn't come with a blank set of faceplates, so you're stuck with the animal crossing ones until you purchase new ones.
Overall though, great system and good buy.

BEST CHRISTMAS GIFT

My boyfriend bought me this for Christmas after recently falling in love with new leaf and I did not have a DS. I about cried when I saw it, I usually just play new leaf on it but there are times when I am in the mood for happy homes and its really fun! I enjoy having a theme for the villager and designing their homes. Its really cool to have leniency with decorating without having to pay any bells. The amiibo cards are awesome too, endless amounts of homes to design!
