Why did I wait so long?

Like many people, my primary camera for the past few years has been my smart phone. While the pictures taken with a phone may be suitable for posting to social media, they fall short when there is a desire to print and frame. As my kids have moved into their final high school years I decided it was time to step up to a higher quality camera that would capture images that would provide crystal clear memories for years to come. After much research I decided on the Nikon D3200. I also took advantage of a Best Buy special and bundled a 50-300mm zoom lens. The pictures are nothing short of fantastic. I'm a beginner to the DSLR world so shooting in auto mode is a great way to get started while learning to use the manual modes. You could certainly spend significantly more money on a DSLR but if you're not a professional photographer, why? A great way to get started in DSLR photography!

First DSLR. Not regretting my purchase

This is my first DSLR after going through several Point and Shoot cameras. Decided to invest a little bit but not too much. After the sales rep at my local BestBuy helped me find the lowest price for this camera, I'm happy that the D3100 I first got had a defect. They ended up not having anymore D3100s available so I decided to bump up to the D3200. It is wonderful and nothing against it so far.

If you will be using this camera a lot always bring a spare battery. I have found the extra battery is very needed since I have active kids & use my camera a lot. My kids love sports and rarely sit still. I never miss a shot!!! We even have excellent pictures of the pets in action with the kids now. It takes professional grade photos in all lighting. It was extremely easy to adapt to from my Kodak. It had some of the same features but it also had a lot more features. Overall, I love it & I am extremely glad we bought it!!!

I've been wanting an SLR camera for years, and after doing some research, I found this to be the best for me. I haven't learned all this ins and outs of it just yet (so many buttons and settings!), but I'll be taking this bad boy for a spin on a regular basis, so I'll learn soon enough. :) Price wise, definitely good for what you're getting. The quality of the pictures is excellent, exactly what I want. The weight is light enough to take shots with one hand, unless you're using the larger lens of course. And while there are an abundance of settings, even though I haven't learned them all, every picture I've taken has come out clear and sharp.

I love this camera! It's great for those people who are newer to photography or want to up their game a bit without having to buy the uber expensive camera. More functional than a regular point and shoot, and has the added features that can add a professional look to your shots. I can't tell enough people how great this camera is.

I am very excited about this camera. I have done a lot of research on these types of cameras and have gotten advice from people who already own related cameras. I have owned the camera for just over 1 month and have already taken it to the Grand Canyon. The camera held up well to the hike down and up (all the way to the bottom and back). There was alot of dust on the camera and I walked through the rain and snow (which was tough) but the camera made it. I should have brought a lens cleaner though. I have taken nearly 700 pictures and of course some are great, a lot are ok, and a few are junk, but I assume most of that is due to my lack of experience and knowledge. I am slowly understanding the camera and its functions. I think even though this is geared for beginners, I still need to take some sort of class to help me. The options with the camera are great, so I am told by someone who has a more advanced camera. I purchased the camera in order to take better family pictures and try my hand at HDR style photos. I still haven't tried the HDR yet but am eager to learn. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase, especially since I was able to bundle things together (tripod, memory card, second lens, nikon camera bag, and camera for one price when talking with the Best Buy store manager. I might even rate the camera and its performance higher when I can fully understand what I am doing.

Pictures taken with my Olympus Evolt 500 were good, but always needed an adjustment for either either lighting or sharpening. I loved to take action photos, but it seemed that 3 out of 5 pictures were blurred. (Also the covering for the CF memory card wouldn't stay shut.) With our first trip to Europe on the horizon, my wife suggested a new camera, Who was I to argue! Research led me to the Nikon D3200. I was hesitant to switch from Olympus to Nikon. (5 of my 6 digital cameras were Olympus. Compared to Nikon, the colors seemed to be warmer. Nikon pictures seemed to be cold and bluish. Of course, that was when I compared them about 13 years ago.) I found that not only did Best Buy have the best price, it had people that knew the camera, and a return policy that was the clincher. I could try it, compare it to my Olympus pictures, and then return it if not satisfied. No way is it going back! I love the Nikon D3200. Easy to use, beautiful clear pictures, action photos unbelievably clear and sharp, and the color is great. Combined with a SanDisk - Extreme 64GB Secure Digital XC (SDXC) Memory Card, and a Nikon - AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED Telephoto Zoom Lens, this camera will meet all my needs.

I made my living as pro photographer but have retired from using DSLRs for some time. After deciding to get the Nikon D3200 bundle this New Year, I was amazed at how it can shoot with very little noise low lit images. Put the D3200 in Guide Mode with advanced set up and reduction blur and it does wonders when set up at ISO 6400. I would eventually get a flash but even without this, one can shoot with very small ambient light and still produce dramatic images.

Works great, high resolution photos from an affordable camera. Relatively light weight and well balanced, grips very well and easy to hold in any direction. After some getting to know, menus become easier to navigate and more intuitive. Its a Nikon, so there are a lot of accessories available that are built just for it. Weaknesses: does not tether to adobe light room while maintaining live view. High resolution sensor can create substantial noise when used for night time photography.

My very first DSLR camera and in my favorite color red, all is going good! :-) The camera is easy to use, so for amateur and/or first time dslr buyer/user, this will not disappoint. Even without reading the manual or viewing the accompanying CD-info, you will be fine.

I am still learning all the fancy features and about shutter and aperture speeds to control the images, but really love this camera. I used it to take hundreds of photos of kids with the Easter Bunny and also tons of photos at the animal rescue ranch I volunteer at. It has worked flawlessly and I am very pleased with it. Looking now at picking up a UV Polarizing Lens kit to help with the outdoor photos I am taking and also to protect the main lens.

I am currently using this on my vacation in Europe. I have taken pictures that are so crystal clear, they look like high def 3D. Shots of landmarks, wildlife & people. I,m very excited with the ease of use and the quality of both the camera and accessories, as well as the quality of pictures. I purchased a 16GB card and plan on filling it with pictures of my vacation in the next two weeks. I've purchased some other well known brand name cameras and the little extra this cost is more than worth it. Wish I would have done it sooner.

I had a Nikon D80 for 8 years before it finally croaked but this D3200 is 1/5 of the price and 10x a better camera. I used it for the first time a couple of weeks ago during a Labor Day getaway and the picture quality is amazing. Took me a little to get used to some of the functions and the smaller size but over all this is a great camera for the amateur and step above photographer. Enjoy!

I bought this camera as a replacement to my Nikon D60 which began to have shutter problems. Like the D60 this camera is easy to use and since I am still a novice at picture taking that is a big help. The pictures taken are crisp and clear, even when I have the ISO up due to low light. Very good camera for the price.
