This camera is my 2nd one, 1st one is Nikon N6006 still had it. I bought this D3400, because it easy for me to know how to take good pictures, light weight easier than my N6006, easy programming, I’m like a beginner. I love this Nikon D3400, price is affordable too.

I am very impressed with Nikon's D3400. This is an upgrade from my current D60, and what an upgrade it is! I can take pictures in very low light, the SnapBridge app automatically transfers JPEG files to my phone, the camera body is light and the lenses I've used with the D60 are interchangeable with the D3400. I have recommended this camera to several friends and I will continue to do so!

I'm the target customer for this camera as a parent (assuming since it has a child portrait function) and as someone starting out in photography as a hobby. Had Canon point-and-shoots in the past and was never really wowed by them. In five minutes with nice natural lighting I got beautiful keepsake quality photos of my kid and pets on auto settings. With all manual options, there's plenty of room for skill growth for a hobbyist. Size and weight is manageable. Price was within reach at $400 for body and kit lens. Package included everything needed to get started (body, lens, battery, charger, users manual) except for an SD card.
Great camera, good price, ordered on a Thursday night and arrived Monday. All in all very satisfied!

My husband is thoroughly enjoying the Nikon D3400 on our trip to Paris, France. He said he's always wanted a DSLR camera and we knew that our iPhones would not be able to capture the sights in Paris. It's been fairly easy to use without a lot of downtime for learning to use it. Yet there is a lot of room for growth on our part. Great price/package from Best Buy, though we are glad we did not get the package including a 300mm zoom lens. I read the lens included is cheap & without autofocus. For the difference we bought a Nikon 200mm autofocus zoom lens. Unless you are shooting sports or wildlife, a much more expensive Nikon 300mm with autofocus isn't needed-200mm has been Perfect!

I read a lot of reviews and articles on how to buy DSLR cameras and ended up getting this from best buy.The stock lens is good for almost any but wide angle 11-16mm and telephoto 55+ mm photos.Images have come out to be excellent if I am able to focus correctly. There is a autofocus that works like a charm.Battery life is great with the RAW+JPEG option as you will need that to edit in photoshop. One thing is that the ISO rating is at 12800 as its a compact frame and in room pictures the flash turns on automatically. This is the only thing I don't like but I paid $450 for this so its ok.Nikon lenses are excellent and wide angle ones are available for cheap online.Definitely a great product and really light weight,

I have been wanting a "nice" camera and received this as a gift. I love it! I'm still getting to know it, but it seems relatively easy to use with the auto settings and I will have to educate myself on how to take a variety of photos manually to pay with light, etc. It does NOT take very close up shots from a distance, actually not any closer than the naked eye and I will be purchasing a telephoto lens. However, any distance shots I took cropped and blew up beautifully and very clear! My only complaint is that the SnapBridge app that the manual recommends you download to wirelessly send photos to your phone or computer does not work with this D3400. I researched on line and found several complaints pertaining to this problem. I have yet to reach out to Nikon to see if they have a "fix" for this problem, but so far I have not been able to pair it with my android phone or my computer wirelessly. Otherwise, great and easy to use camera.

I've been using an adequate point and shoot camera for 10 years, but I need photos that look better than adequate. The Nikon D3400 is easy to use, but what I like best is, it's easy to take any kind of photo in any conditions...easily. I can shoot in low light, bad light, or in bright light. The D3400 solves all the problems instantly. When I want to get creative, every option is right at my finger tips. I can upgrade to big zoomer lenses, or stay with the standard 55mm. Every kind of filter fits on the Nikon lenses. The deal is, I'm a better photographer with the D3400, and I only spent a couple hundred dollars to upgrade to excellent from adequate. Now I get real photos from a real camera, and I'm real happy.

I am coming over from a one shot style camera and am overwhelmed by the features and detail of this camera. Out of the box it takes better pictures than anything I've used (10mp one shot or my andriod s5 phone). the Zoom part of the lenses are confusing until you get it figured out. You have to unlock the lens before each use and lock it back afterwards. My main disappointment is you can't buy the camera body only through Nikon supported channels so you overpay for a mediocre starter lens (3.5F 18-55mm). it would have had more value to me to be able to get the 18-200mm 3.5f with the camera as a single lens if I was going to be forced to get a lens with the body. Overall it's a very good light camera that will be fun to learn to use. It doesn't appear to be very durable and the back screen is large so I suggest a filter for the lens and a screen protector for the screen... I gave it 3 stars because connectivity with blue tooth is spotty, there's no app for windows 10/mac, and there's no wifi built in.
