It’s easy to clean. I like it but need to use thin cuts of meat or slice bigger chicken breasts in half. Or outside gets to crisp to suit me. I have only used it three times so far. Time will tell.

--- SETUP --- After reading through the manual, it was easy to figure out and understand the new components of this revolutionary air fryer. It took about 20 minutes of understanding the machine before first use. --- FEATURES --- 4qt and 6 cup tempware glass containers included, 2 storage lids, microwave and dishwasher safe, can cook from frozen to crispy temperatures with no shattering, safe to set on granite, laminate, quartz, butcher block, marble and more, easy to clean. --- EXPECTATIONS and PERFORMANCE --- This portable air fryer is truly innovative. I have been using the larger 4qt tempware container, even when making a meal for 2, as I can fit some of the larger items in that container. Think ribs, steaks, and salmon. The powerpod has stickers that make it easy to remember that button does what and what preset temperatures you are using: Recrisp (380-400oF) Bake (375-400oF), AirFry (400-425oF), Max Crisp (425-450oF). The included recipe book suggests that you can season your food in the glass containers themselves. This sped up my cooking process quite a bit. The main food options I tried were Recrisp. Air Fry, and Max Crisp. After getting takeout from two different restaurants, one being a taco place and one McDonalds, I was able recrisp (reheat) my food and it tasted much better than just reheating it in the microwave. The AirFry was reserved for my salmon night, and it came out night and crispy. For my steaks and ribs, I used the Max Crisp. I was able to cook a medium rare steak in about 15 minutes and my ribs to a nice crisp in about 24 minutes. Afterwards, it was easy to clean while still warm or store any leftovers without pulling out another container. For reheating, since it was already in the Ninja container, I just used the Recrisp option again even if I had just pulled the container out of the fridge. The glass didn’t crack and I was able to resume my meal on a different day. --- APPROVAL --- Overall, this is a welcomed addition in my kitchen. It is so versatile and convenient that I am considering getting a second one so that I can use it to cook or reheat other side dishes. I highly recommend this Ninja Crispi portable air fryer.

    Alternative Air-Fryer Cooking Appliance

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

BACKGROUND: My goal was to replace while upgrading from a small economy air fryer. And the Ninja CRISPi Portable Cooking System provides many features my traditional air fryer lacks. I was also intrigued with advertised 4-In-1 functionality, dual cooking containers, and recognized what I consider the premium “Ninja” brand. FEATURES: Most notably are the two TempWare Glassware containers, one small 6-cup single user, and one larger 4-quart advertised for family of six. The glass allows for easy viewing of the actual cooking content. A feature that is very convenient and the primary selling point for my personal use. Another convenient feature is when you are cooking-for-one, you do not actually need to serve the prepared food moving it to a sperate plate. Just skip that step and enjoy lunch directly from the glassware. (Note that the glassware container stays very hot, maintaining its high cooking temperature, for a significant period of time after cooking.) POWER POD: The removable heating element, aka the Power-Pod, has limited user control options. A “Start” button, a “Mode” selection button, and “+ -” buttons for cooking time adjustments that are shown in small digital “count down” window. Note that there are no options to adjust the actual cooking temperatures, other than the four pre-selection ranges of Recrisp (380-400°F), Bake (375-400°F), Air-Fry (400-425°F), and Max Chisp (425-450°F). A removable stick-on label provides this user “need to know” information. ACCESSORIES: Included accessories are dual bottom tray “crisper plates” for air-frying, and snap-on dishwasher safe lids for transporting, or for refrigerator storage of any leftovers. (Recognize that this Crispi System is designed for cooking with portability in mind.) You can store/nest the two glassware containers, with the “big batch removable adapter” placing the “power pod” on top. Also, Ninja markets 2.5QT (Model: XSKSFNMED) and a 5-Cup (Model: 408SH100) TempWare Glassware options if needed. MANUAL: The 60-page Quick Start Guide (QSG) includes a cookbook with approximately 40 dedicated pages of recipes providing detail instructions with colored pictures. Another 10 pages of food preparation charts are provided that will assist with cooking most all other food selections. A very well thought out welcomed addition! QSG DOWNLOAD: I was able to locate the manual in PDF format for downloading to my laptop. Just browser search for: FN101_IG_QSG_MP_Mv6_LR.pdf CAVEAT: My only quibble with this Ninaj Crispi cooking system is not being able to easily “shake” or “toss” the contents mid cooking. All prior air-fryers I have used, I would remove the cooking tray/container by way of its handle, “shake / toss” the contents, then replace and resume cooking. And that could be accomplished with one hand without an oven mitt. This Crispi System requires removal of the heating element “Power Pod” and placing it on another surface. Then holding with both hands the cooking container, using oven mitts, then “shake or toss”. In lieu of shaking, one can remove the power-pod and just stir the contents or use tongs to rearrange the food being cooked. Not a showstopper for my use, just a heads-up for others. MICROWAVE: Once food is prepared in their TempWare Glassware containers, it can be safely reheated in a microware as another reheating option. That would be convenient when you are preparing food to bring to work for lunch and only intend to take the glassware with its lid without the heating power-pod. Although microwave use is not directly mentioned in the provided QSG information, it is clearly stated in the “Important Safety Instructions” leaflet. “Ninja TempWare Glass Containers are freezer safe, microwave safe, and dishwasher safe and may be washed by hand using non-abrasive cleansers and plastic or nylon cleaning pads if scouring is necessary. They are not oven or stovetop safe. Plastic lids are for microwave and storage use only and are BPA free.” And I highly recommend reading through this document prior to use. Download by searching: FN100Series_IB_REV_Mv9_LR BOTTOM LINE: The Ninja CRISPi is actually an alternative cooking appliance versus a traditional air-fryer. Is it better than a traditional air-fryer(?) is a matter of personal preference, coupled with one’s unique cooking requirements, and/or the occasional need for portability of the prepared food. Lots to like here and a novel approach to small counter-top cooking and reheating devices. RATING: After using for the past few days, cooking, reheating, and storing a multitude of foods, the Ninja Crispi Portable Cooking System earned itself a solid 5-Star rating. And yes, it will replace my existing air-frier. .

This is wonderful and great for many households. I wish I got it before because it would have been a great Christmas gift for me to purchase for others. But glad I received in time to use for my holiday cooking. It comes with 2 different size glass containers that can go right into the fridge to save leftovers and includes a cover for each container. And both containers can go in the dishwasher too, which is always a plus for me. Each container has a crispier rack that fits in when needed. It also looks really nice so you can serve the cooked food right on it at the table. It's simple to use and works quickly. I put the food I want cooked in the glass container then put the handle, which is where all the power is, called the Powerpod, on top of the container. I can press one of the four options, bake, air fry, max crisp & recrisp. Decide how much time I want, then press start. So simple! My little one loves to watch the food as it cooks in the see thru glass container. Most of what I've cooked so far, has taken less than 11 minutes to cook. I cooked salmon, broccoli, zucchini, asparagus, chicken, meat turnover patties, recrisp sweet potato fries, max crisp kale chips. I can't wait to try many more recipes! I'm really excited about this new cooking tool. look forward to taking it to my potluck coming up mid-January!

    Ultimate Portable Air Fryer

Ninja is a leading manufacturer of countertop appliances. This exceedingly popular product is the Ninja Crispi Portable Cooking System. The Crispi is a unique 1500 Watt air fryer; it is the most flexible, user friendly & easy to store of the three air fryers in our collection. Two glass bowls (4 Quart & 6 Cup) with integrated handles & feet are included, each with removable crisper racks & snap-on storage lids. The Crispi is so convenient to use with a digital control & display on top. A cookbook is included as a guide to the many capabilities of Crispi. All parts except the power unit are dishwasher, microwave & freezer safe, so cleanup is a breeze. Crispi is easy to store in a drawer or cabinet because it separates into glass bowls, an adaptor for use with the larger container & the power unit. The feet do not transmit heat, so you can safely sit it on your counter without damage. The 4 Quart container will hold a 4 lb. chicken & vegetables; for smaller servings, we prefer to use the 6 Cup container, the perfect size for 2 people. Chicken wings come out perfectly crispy, and the salmon is absolutely delectable! CONCLUSION: My wife & I LOVE Crispi! We are fond of how easy it is to use, how it can be stowed away off of the counter, and the tasty food is second to none! Crispi earns my highest recommendation.

I've been testing the Ninja Crispi portable cooking system for a week. Overall, it is a cool and innovative gadget that is easy to use and easy to clean. It works well for cooking and reheating small to medium portions. But, it has some quirks. Inside the box are the Crispi cooking pod, two glass cooking containers with corresponding crisping plates, storage lids, an adapter for the larger container, and a recipe book. On the top of the Crispi, there is a mode button to switch the heat temperature higher or lower. Each of the four modes has a temperature range, so the cooking temperature isn't very precise. This is not a significant issue for me, but it's something to note if your recipe calls for exact temperatures. There are plus and minus buttons for setting the timer and a start button. The power cord is hardwired to the Crispi and measures three feet. This is fine when cooking on a countertop but limiting when it's time to move the hot Crispi away from the container. As for performance, it works quite well. In the larger container, I was able to cook 8 jumbo wings without stacking them and approximately a pound and a half of Brussels sprouts with plenty of room for more. Everything was cooked perfectly. However, I did have to stir the Brussels sprouts a few times, as the top layer started to over-crisp slightly. This resulted in many Brussels sprout leaves falling beneath the insertable plate at the bottom. Additionally, it took longer than a traditional air fryer. However, unlike a traditional air fryer, I could place a lid on the container, store my leftovers in the refrigerator, and easily reheat them in the Crispi. Regarding portability, the smaller container is perfect for transporting and reheating leftovers and single-serving portions. However, carrying the power pod around is cumbersome. Therefore, I would say it is semi-portable. Cleaning the Ninja Crispi was straightforward. While it is dishwasher safe, I found handwashing to be more effective. With all that said, I would recommend the Ninja Crispi and think it would make a great gift.

This is a rather unique appliance and is awesome to use! It arrived with a Small Batch 6-cup TempWare Glass container and also the Big Batch 4 Qt. They each have lids and are attached to a stand. They're Thermal-shock and high heat resistant up to 450 degrees plus dishwasher safe. The lids are BPA free as well. You can purchase extra size containers from Ninja in a 2.5 Qt. and a 5 cup to suit your needs. This setup is really great because you can Crisp it, Serve it and then simply Store it. The Crispi PowerPod easily attaches to your container with the included adapter and there are also crisper plates that fit in the bottom of each. Another nice feature is the container holders have counter-safe feet so you can freely use on Granite, Laminate, Quartz, Butcher Block and Marble. The control panel offers Bake, Recrisp, Air Fry, Max Crisp, Cook Time and Power. If you want to pause cooking you remove the Crispi PowerPod and to resume place it back on the container and press Start. Ninja also includes a colorful, glossy 59 page Quick Start Guide with easy to understand instructions and it's filled with recipes including various cooking times, Kickstarter Recipes and cooking charts. I was very impressed with this high quality booklet. For cooking I made frozen breaded cod fillets using the Max Crisp for about 15 minutes with no turning them at all. It's so convenient to be able to see the status of what you're cooking through the glass. The fish turned out excellent. Then I made french fries on Max Crisp and they were perfect. Nicely done on the outside but soft inside. I used a hint of canola oil spray on the bottom rack but it's not necessary according to Ninja's instructions. I find it just makes cleaning the racks easier by doing so. I love using this Ninja Crispi and as it's not big it doesn't take up much counter space. Not very loud when using either. I'm so looking forward to trying many many more recipes! Highly recommend the purchase!

Great little air fryer for quick meals or heating up snacks. I found this to be very easy to use and very convenient. I've previously owned 3 other air fryers that just where too big, used to much power, or just too slow. The Ninja Crispi seemed to fixed all that for me. For small meals or snacks I use the smaller 6-cup container and then when I have to prepare any large meals or for when I have company I can use the 4-quart container. The Crispi does fries and food better than more larger brands air fryers. See my pic of pork belly crispy skin! Pizza is heated up just like it came off the oven, cheese is melted and crust is crispy. The Crispi also doubles as a food container after you've made your food, I made food for my guest and myself but ended up having extra. I left the extra food in the air fryer container and just used the included cap to store away in the fridge. I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for an air fryer, especially for a gift to a college student that doesn't want to do a bunch of cooking.

The Ninja Crispi is a unique air fryer with two different sized trays or bowls to choose from. I love that the bottom is glass. It's easy to clean, see into, and also comes with lids so you could actually store whatever you just cooked! If you have used other Ninja products in the past you'll be familiar with the beeps that tell you when you are changing modes or when your timer is up. This is so simple to use, there are buttons on the top portion, you just pick the setting you want. set your timer and go. I was surprised at how quiet this air fryer is, it's not the quietest but for this style of air fryer it's great. Cooking is great! I made hash browns in it, using the air fry and then max crisp settings, not only did they cook quickly, less than 15 minutes, they were so perfectly crispy! The only thing to remember is that this fryer sits directly on top of the included glass dishes, which means that glass can get really hot, so be careful! I think this is simple enough to use for the teenagers at home, the way it cooks, the ability to see your food through the glass, and the super easy clean up make this a no brainer, great invention, and would make a great gift. I'm happy with this new air fryer and see me using it a lot!

The Ninja Crispi Portable Cooking System is an impressive little powerhouse for whipping up meals and snacks quickly. While it’s marketed as portable, I found it a bit larger than expected, making it more suitable for home use than stashing in a desk drawer at the office. That said, its performance more than makes up for this. The Crispi PowerPod is easy to use and delivers excellent results. My first test was making ham and cheese sliders on King's Hawaiian buns, which typically come out uneven in a toaster oven with cold centers or overdone bread. With the Crispi, everything was cooked to perfection in just 4 minutes on the Air Fry setting. I also tried tater tots on Max Crisp, and while they turned out a bit overdone (entirely my fault for using oven instructions instead of air fryer times), the system clearly has the power to get things crispy fast. The 4 mode functionality is straightforward, and selecting the different cooking options was easy. The whole system feels well-made and durable, but cord management could use some improvement—it’s a bit messy to store. Cleanup was easy because the containers are dishwasher-safe. Compared to cleaning a toaster oven, this was much more convenient. The Ninja Crispi is a nice addition for anyone looking to save time in the kitchen without sacrificing quality. The heating is consistent and the cleanup is effortless. While not as portable as I initially expected, it’s well worth a purchase.

The Ninja Crispi is yet another forward looking product from Ninja, from its space saying versatility, being able to travel with it, to the glass cooking containers. The glass cooking system was one of the big draws for my girlfriend and I as less metal with non stick coatings is a positive for us. Even though I’ve read that Ninja is one of the if not the safest air fryers in terms of their coatings, I still think it’s positive having less. With two different size glass containers it helps with counter space as well, especially if you usually just make smaller portions. Though the big draw for this is portability in terms of being able to cook and then take the container with you, I see the versatility with taking the whole system on the road. For instance an RV that has limited counter space, this would be perfect. Also for camping or (glamping), you can now easily make crispy fries to go along with burgers or fries! When using it, it is much quieter than any other air fryer I’ve ever used. And when everything is done, the handles on the glass containers make it much easier to transfer your food to the plate. The Ninja Crispi is yet another innovative kitchen product from the leading manufacturer of small appliances. If you’re looking for an air fryer with unmatched versatility, the Crispi is your only option.

Convection roasters have been around for decades. Often they were and are referred to as turbo broilers. These days they are now referred to as air fryers. But for those who have used these kitchen appliances back in the day, you would know that they are large and primarily caters to six or more people. The Ninja Crispi solves that problem as it caters to smaller families or groups. The Ninja Crispi Crispi follows the design of the original turbo broiler where this is glass container and the heating element is on top unlike modern air fryers which often has a carafe design. The Crispi has two containers – one four quart and one six quart to cater to different sizes of groups. For the smaller container you just directly put on the heating element on top. As for the larger container, the Ninja Crispi has an adapter to fit the heating element. Also, the Crispi has to racks so that air can circulate under the food. Operating the Ninja Crispi is pretty much straightforward. There are four self explaining heat settings namely recrisp, bake, air fry, and max crisp. Temperature ranges from 380-450F. However, I wish that the Crispi has the ability to provide exact temperatures. I have tried the recipes included in the documentation included, and somehow they don’t quite match up. The same also applies to the built-in timer as well. As such, using the Ninja Crispi is a trial and error for me. Overall, the Crispi is a good air fryer for small groups or families. My only gripe is that heat control. But still, I would recommend this air fryer for small groups.

I’m a big fan of air fryers and use them multiple times daily for small tasks like making toast and multi-course meals. My main complaint is that no matter how well I clean the cooking drawers and racks or whatever liners I use, they accumulate a coating over time that I’m unable to remove. Due to their size, they require a dedicated counter spot in most kitchens and are not ideal for travel. For starters, this air-fryer is a multi-piece system consisting of the PowerPod cooking unit with an adapter so it will work with the included 4 quart and 6 cu thermal glass storage and cooking containers, leak-proof lids for each container, and crisper plates to use in the containers. The containers nest within each other with the PowerPod on top and the non-skid bases below for easy storage. The non-skid base has feet that are insulated so it’s safe to use on many surfaces. The PowerPod is programable with settings for air-fry, bake, max crisp, and re-crisp settings along with an auto-off feature. All of the components except the PowerPod are dishwasher safe. I travel a lot, and the compact size has enabled me to make many meals in my hotel room. I end up eating healthier and saving money! This air-fryer draws 1500 watts of electricity, so you could also use it on a camping trip with a generator. It’s also ideal that you can use the glass cooking containers for serving the food!

If you have seen the price of this product and are now reading this review, go ahead and purchase this thing. It is as awesome as I thought it would be. The power pod is essential, so keep it safe and dry. The two cooking bowls (small batch and big batch tempware containers with attached handles, are so easy to cook with and serve from, that it makes very little sense to even consider getting any other coventional air fryer, unless you're just trying to save some cash at the moment. They both come with crisper plates and lids for storing leftovers. Who would've thought that I would be storing my air fryer container in the fridge? I certainly didn't. Ninja comes through, yet again, with another "Cooking Ideas" booklet and even though I love making wings in my air fryers, I just could not wait to make the salmon and veggies. I'm going to be candid with you. That was the best salmon I have ever eaten. I love the idea of seeing my meal transform into a delicuos work of art( Presentaion is important to me. Be mindful, though. The power pod can get pretty hot, so use caution when your meal is finished cooking. Its also very easy to operate. It senses which container you're using, and the operation options are right there, on top to get you started. It's highy recommended that you only use Ninja approved cookware because these things are built for this kind of work. I believe that you can purchase another, different sized, container, as well, but what I know for sure, is storage is convenient, as the containers fit with-in each other (without the crisper plates,of course. Just put them away safely and remember where you put them, or you can just store the containers seperately. Your call. With for different re-crisp, bake, air fry & max crisp. It really shouldn't be an issue finding something to prepare. Like I said.Get this this thing. You've made it this far.

The Ninja Crispi Portable Cooking System is easy to use. Nothing special needed to set it up. It comes with 2 really heavy glass bowls which I love because we try to not cook in Aluminum or plastic in our home. I made home made French fries from fresh potatoes. It took about the same amount of time that our larger air fryer takes. The difference is that you can see your food through the glass bowl. It does not steam up. So you can tell how it is crisping. The French fries were perfect. They were not dry nor were they too soft. When re-crisping some cold chicken, it only took a few minutes and it turned out perfect. It did not dry out chicken. It was so moist. The entire system itself is not heavy so it is easy to move from one place to another. It is so easy to clean up and store. When not in use it all stacks up nicely. The only bad thing I found was The entire system Does get hot when in use. That may be a problem with a family with children or the elderly. I can keep it far enough back on the counter that the kids can’t reach it but I would worry about them in a few years. Overall I do like it very much and I LOVE the glass bowls that are used in it.

I love the size and convenience of the Ninja Crispi. I have another air fryer that is huge and takes up so much room, so I rarely use it. The Crispi is smaller and easier to store, as well as taking up much less counter space. It does a great job of air frying, and I love the re-crisping option. It makes leftovers taste like new. I use the Crispi almost every day!

This is our first air fryer. We are very pleased with our first attempts with vegetables and frozen entrees. I especially appreciate the size, which allows storage options not available for most air fryers. The glass containers are convenient for leftovers.

This is hands down the best air fryer! It’s small, quiet and high quality. It’s super easy to clean. I love that it has 2 glass bottoms. Definitely worth the money.

We wanted an air fryer but lacked the counter space to leave one out all the time. The Ninja Crispi solved the space problem as we have ample cabinet storage space. The Crispi is easy to use, and easy to clean. Storing it is so simple. Our cooking experience has been great so far. The food came out crisp and juicy. The glass storage container make storing left over a snap. Overall we think the Ninja Crispi is a great addition to our kitchen.
