First off, the grill took a couple of hours to assemble but as I am a senior with a physical handicap, I enlisted the aid of my son and once he got to cooking on putting it together, we were soon cooking in the backyard! The Ninja FlexFlame Electric and Propane Grill is without a doubt the finest and fastest BBQ grill I have used in my life! The Electric side of this propane powered grill is the temperature control dial and indicator and of course the built-in convection fan that makes cooking food not only faster but also far more evenly than ever before! Did I mention how fast and even food is cooked on this grill? And the flavor of meat and poultry either with the convection loaded with or without smoked flavor pellets is outstanding! We first grilled a pair of Tri-tip steaks and corn on the cob and our family of 8 were thrilled with the incredible tenderness and flavor of both items! It really was that good! Next we grilled chicken (or meat!) and vegetable skewers and again the Ninja FlexFlame cooked it all to perfection in record time and the flavor was outstanding! This BBQ Grill is fast and flavorful! The next items we prepared (from scratch!) for cooking on the grill was PIZZA!! In a way this was the most popular item yet cooked on the Ninja FlexFlame and with good reason, our 3 grandchildren really like pizza!! Crispy goodness with a variety of meat, chicken and vegetables on a total of 8 medium sized pizzas and we cooked them using the Ninja Pizza Stone that I had bought along with the Ninja BBQ cover. Both items were worth buying too as the Pizza Stone along with the convection fan helps to make the pizzas cook faster and more evenly and the cover is to protect the grill from the elements! There is an easily removed and replaceable "grease pan" under the unit and along with the aforementioned Pizza Stone and Cover I bought a package of these aluminum grease pans for when it comes to time to replace the original one. These were quite literally gourmet level pizzas made with all natural ingredients by my daughter and the Ninja FlexFlame did her efforts proud! I have read where some folks question how a product EARNS a 5 Star review and I will say that for me the product must be of high quality construction (and this BBQ Grill is!), easy to use and capable of doing exactly what it is meant to do. The Ninja FlexFlame does EXACTLY what a BBQ Grill should do and it does it faster and with greater ease than any other grill I have used in my life and that says a LOT about this grill. In a word, it COOKS! Highly recommended? YES!!

I went hard into BBQ during Covid with a couple of smokers because the price of food skyrocketed and some of our favorite smokehouses shut down and we couldn't eat out anyways. The one thing I missed was the ability to get cooking quickly without having to light up the charcoal. To get one of my ceramic grills up to temps, it can take 30 mins with a chimney or torch and when you're tight on time with hungry kids, especially during the work week, that means I often just made burgers in my kitchen instead of grilling outside. The FlexFlame uses propane but has some electronics to get you cooking with precision quickly. Just turn on the propane, set your temperature range (number of burners), close the lid and you can get to prepping or bringing out food. The grill will beep and show you the temp and there's a convection fan to help move air and keep everything cooking evenly. This also allows you to put in some wood chips into the smoke drawer to get that smoke on your food. Since I already have ceramic smokers, I focused on the cast iron griddle. As mentioned my main focus was to be able to make Philly Cheesesteaks, Smash Burgers, hot dogs and brunch/breakfast so I also bought the full carbon steel griddle plate. It is an expensive accessory but it is extremely high quality, fits perfectly into the FlexFlame grill and has a built in grease drain that allows you to clean and push grease and food scraps into the drain, which then flow into the drain pan under the FlexFlame Grill. I was super happy with the results, it only took about 5 mins to get up to 375-400 and I was cooking both cheesesteaks and hot dogs on the large griddle. Very uniform temperatures and cook quality, just rolled the hot dogs with gloved hands and let the ribeye for cheesteaks cook before I put velveeta and american cheese on, while toasting rolls on the top shelf. I'll make more on the griddle over the summer and even try smoking food like ribs, brisket, pork shoulder as I'm curious how much propane is used for longer low and slow cooks. If it uses less propane than charcoal, I may do more smoking on the FlexFlame and save the ceramic grill for the longer low and slow cooks. The FlexFlame unit itself is extremely high quality, it has a 10 year limited warranty and the firebox is really well made. Double-walled stainless steel to help keep temps, very solid side tables, great feeling handles and knobs. The stand components didn't feel as high quality, I think the stand metal and the electronics may be the first things to go. Speaking of which, the electronics seem really exposed, just a bunch of wires going into the control unit which is likely the first failure component with the electronic starter, convection fan control, temp control and smoke box smoldering. Putting the grill was very easy overall, I watched the 6 minute video from the 2 BBQ dads from FlexFlame and just paused as I went. Make sure to READ the subtitles in the video as you go, don't just go by the narration as there's important stuff in the subtitles too, like EMPTYING the fire box before you lift it. The only part that I thought was a bit questionable was putting the control panel in. That process can definitely be improved, you have to kind of slide in this little plastic holder, then screw the control box into the side table while it hangs at a weird angle and one of the screws is almost completely hidden. Its a bit of an adventure but I got it done. That's also the only part where you really need to use their extra long screwdriver, which is handy to keep around too. I used an impact with long bit for most of the screws and that sped things up. Overall its not any harder than putting together furniture for your kids, but you'll definitely want help to lift the fire box onto the base. I can't wait to try smoking some food but I think it'll be smash burgers tomorrow. Maybe I'll do some St. Louis style spare ribs this weekend. A few other things you'll need if you've never grilled before is an outdoor power source with extension cord, the cord under the FlexFlame is only like 4 inches. You'll also need a propane tank, the first time you need to "buy" the tank + gas, so it'll cost you like $60-70. After that, you may want to keep a spare so that's another $60-70 to make sure you never run out of propane during a cook. Then after that you can just fill the empty one for $20 or so. You'll also want some quality tools for grilling if you don't have some already. And as I mentioned the accessories that go with the FlexFlame will also cost you some money, like the griddle plates or pizza stones. Definitely going to try to do pizza too as that uses a ton of charcoal in my ceramic grills.

When I think of Ninja kitchenware, the first things that come to mind are air fryers, blenders, toasters, ovens, ice cream makers, slush machines and cookware. I’ve seen a few small grills but this full size grill was a welcoming surprise and, as expected, it’s gas and electric and does more than simple grilling. It can also make pizza, roast, smoke and griddle. I’ve tried them all, and it does a good job at fulfilling all these functions. The most challenging part of the Ninja Flex Flame was to put it together, and it wasn’t much of a challenge. The instructions were among the simplest and clearest I’ve seen so far. It came in a box weighing 200 pounds. I put it together in under 1 hour. This grill is solidly built. I received it on a Monday, and the next day after work, like a child with a new toy, I plugged the electrical connection and connected a propane tank, and I threw in four juicy NY strips and some corn on the top rack and set the temperature at 500 degrees. The electricity powers a convection fan that Ninja calls Cyclonic Heat IQ for optimal heat distribution and recovery. Compared to my old grill that had five burners compared to the three in the Flex Flame, the cooking time was cut by about half. It’s an interesting technology that actually works and the results were unexpectedly great. According to Ninja, once the temperature is set with the temperature control dial, the burners, along with the convection fan, will adjust automatically to maintain that temperature while saving on propane usage. During the next three days, I tried my hand at different things. First on the menu was a smoked salmon fillet that was ready in about 45 minutes, and came out delicious. I set the function to ‘Low & Slow’ and the temperature dial to 300 degrees. I was so impressed that I tried a brisket the next day. Still on the same ‘Low & Slow’ setting at 200 degrees, I took it out after 4 and a half hours and the whole family enjoyed it. It had nice but not perfect smoke rings. You can also add a smoky flavor to pretty much any food you come across. Cold smoking is a welcome discovery with this grill. You only use the pellet box and add the pellet and press the ‘Woodfire Flavor’ button and voila. No propane needed. I tried it with nuts and I was impressed. I bought a few accessories from Ninja designed for the Flex Flame, such as a half griddle that I was quick to use one morning for some pancakes quickly followed by some sizzling bacon strips. Those were quickly done in under 10 minutes. I also got the Ninja pizza stone and baked a prepared fresh pizza, not frozen, from the neighborhood specialty market and the results were impressive. In 6 minutes, it was baked just right with a lightly burned crust. It was my first time using a pizza stone and this grill made me look like a pro. Next will be some roasted prime rib and tenderloins with brussels sprouts and carrots. I really like my Ninja Flex Flame grill for its multi-function and its ease of use. The added technology makes cooking faster and easier than with a traditional grill. After a few days, the Flex Flame won me over and completely replaced my old grill. The Ninja can do so much more plus it makes you look good as it allows you complete control of the multi-function settings and it delivers great performance.

----- SUMMARY ----- Verdict: The Ninja FlexFlame has significantly elevated my outdoor cooking experience. It's a fantastic all-in-one solution that delivers on its promises. As a busy dad and grilling enthusiast, I appreciate its versatility, ease of use, and consistent performance. While it might not replace a dedicated smoker for those seeking intense smoky flavors, it's perfect for anyone who wants a convenient and versatile outdoor cooking system. I wholeheartedly recommend it. Pros: - Easy assembly - Versatile 5-in-1 functionality - Even and efficient cooking with CyclonicHeat-iQ - User-friendly digital control panel - Effective Woodfire Technology for adding smoky flavor - Ample cooking space - Useful storage space Cons: - Short power cord requires an extension cord - Woodfire Technology may not satisfy hardcore smokers - No utensil hooks on side shelves ----- DETAILS ----- Setup & Design: When the Ninja FlexFlame box arrived, it felt like Christmas morning. As a grilling enthusiast, and busy dad, I've been searching for the perfect all-in-one solution, and this looked like it might be it. My excitement was palpable. Even with a toddler occasionally 'helping,' I had the FlexFlame assembled in about an hour. That's a win in my book. As a busy dad, time is precious, and Ninja made this process painless. The instructions were so clear, that I wanted to give Ninja a well-deserved shoutout. The screws and such were even separated into steps, making each step clear and easy. Most of the grill can be assembled with one person but lifting the main unit onto the base is a two-person task. I never got stuck or confused by unclear instructions. The FlexFlame definitely has a modern, next-generation look to it. The LED digital display on the control panel is a standout feature, and the integrated smoke box on the right side hints at the versatility within. Like a standard grill, it’s propane-powered, but the tech requires an electrical outlet. The short cord meant I had to run an extension cord across my patio, which isn't ideal for safety or aesthetics. I have a solution in mind to address this, but it's something to consider when planning your setup. Opening the lid reveals a generous 544 square inches of cooking space, 424 on the bottom, and 120 on the top rack. To put that into perspective, you could fit up to 18 burgers, 3 chickens, 4 racks of ribs, or 14 steaks on the FlexFlame at one time. For food prep, the two side shelves are a blessing, though hooks for utensils would be a nice addition. Underneath, the storage space is handy. I use it to store grilling utensils, wood pellets, and my extension cord when not in use. The chrome handles on the storage cabinet doors are a nice aesthetic touch too. Features & Performance: What truly sets the FlexFlame apart is its 5-in-1 functionality. You can grill, smoke, roast, griddle, and make pizza using a combination of gas, electric, and wood pellets. The CyclonicHeat-iQ, with its integrated fan, delivers faster and more even cooking. I noticed a significant difference in cooking times, which means less time standing at the grill and more time with my family. The even cooking also meant less burnt food and more consistent results for family gatherings. The fan automatically turning off when you lift the lid is a thoughtful touch. I'll have to adjust the cooking times that I’m used to, but that’s not a bad trade-off for fast and better results. My first attempt at ribs on the FlexFlame was a revelation. My family devoured them, and even my picky daughter asked for seconds. The smoky flavor, while not as intense as my dedicated smoker, was surprisingly good. The smell of the wood pellets infusing into the ribs was intoxicating. I was genuinely impressed. The sear marks on the meat were picture-perfect. While the Woodfire Technology is impressive, serious smokers might find the pellet hopper too small for long, intense smokes. It's perfect for adding a touch of smoke, but it won't replace a dedicated smoker for those who crave that deep, rich flavor. I prioritize the all-in-one aspect over smoked flavor intensity, and for that, it excels. The digital control panel is a game-changer. It allows you to easily select cooking functions and dial in the exact temperature. The LED screen alternating between current and target temperatures until the target is reached takes the guesswork out of grilling. The precision it offers made me feel more confident trying new recipes, like pizza. The simple controls allowed my daughter to help me make pizza, and we had a blast. Also on the control panel is the Woodfire Flavor button. Whatever you’re cooking, you can add pellets to the integrated smoke box, and press the Woodfire Flavor button. Cleaning the FlexFlame is a breeze thanks to its thoughtful design. The grill grates and flame tamers lift out easily for washing, and the removable grease tray simplifies drippings disposal. To minimize mess and streamline cleanup, consider using grease tray liners, which make the process even more convenient. ----- WHAT’S IN THE BOX ----- 1 x Ninja FlexFlame Outdoor Grill 2 x Porcelain-Enamel Cast Iron Grill Grates 1 x Porcelain-Enamel-Coated Steel Indirect Roast & Smoke Rack 2 x Sample Bags of Ninja Woodfire Pellets 1 x Grease Tray 1 x Removable Pellet Box 1 x Assembly Guide 1 x Quick Start and Recipe Guide 1 x Safety Manual

Ninja really has been knocking them out of the park in the last couple of years with developing truly innovative products that actually work well. The FlexFlame Electric and Propane Grill is another one. This grill replaced our traditional Weber grill which served us well for many years but had started to deteriorate in the last few. I figured since it was time to get a new one, why not upgrade to a better one and along came Ninja. It really has all the features you could want in an easily movable stand alone grill and so far we're loving it. PROS: - Individually selectable burners - Electronically controlled temperature - Fan for even heating - Flavor Pellets for additional smoking flavors - Perfect Size & great side counters - Easy to move around - Looks great - Several Accessories available for more cooking options CONS: - Cost a little more than traditional grill - Will need to be plugged in since it's electric - Cover not included Let me start by saying if you're buying this unassembled, you'll want to carve out an hour or two and hopefully have someone with you to help. The box was very heavy! That being said, Ninja did a really EXCELLENT job of both packaging and labeling everything and including great graphical instructions. By following through the steps we had no issues at all assembling the grill. It just took time, but was painless. This is really a beast of a grill. True to their name, Ninja packed a lot of cool features into this grill. You can do everything you'd want to do on a traditional grill but a whole lot of additional things you might not have been able to do. Each of the burners is individually selectable, so you can have any one, any two, or all three going. And it's super easy to control that. You can also set a temperature to maintain that temperature which is very cool. The fan on this is used to create an even cooking environment as well as for use when you want to smoke meat and/or add flavor via the flavor pellets. Ninja also makes a griddle you can buy separately for griddle cooking. They make one that covers the entire area as well as one that covers half. We bought two of the half sizes so that if we want we can be grilling on one side of the grill and griddling on the other. There's also a pizza stone they sell for woodfired pizza cooking. We haven't invested in that yet. The grill is a nice size - it's plenty large enough for all your grilling needs with a large cooking surface as well as two nice size side counters for holding stuff pre/post cooking. It really looks great and despite its size and features is easy to roll around and move to where you need it to be. Keep in mind you do have to plug it in - electricity is required for all the extra fancy features so make sure you have an outlet or a long high quality extension cord. We're still getting to know this grill but so far we've really enjoyed it and been super impressed with the overall quality and how well all the special features have worked. We look forward to using for many years to come!

Ninja's new FlexFlame Electric/Propane Grill is an excellent way to get into grilling. I'm a big fan of Ninja products and I trust them when it comes to my kitchen and cooking. This will be a lengthy review and I'll start with the Pros and then Cons and then my final thoughts. So to start off, assembly is incredibly easy, everything you'll need is included in the box and the instructions are easy to understand, even the fasteners are in their own bags with the number in the sequence of the build. Two people are recommended in the assembly, mostly to lift the grill and place it on the base frame, its possible to lift it alone, I did it on my own but don't recommend you do that because you risk dropping it. Essentially you won't have a Simpsons Le Grille moment setting up the FlexFlame. Once you've got it built and set up, gettin cooking is easy. There are 5 cooking modes to pick from on the dial: Grill/Pizza, 2-Zone, Roast/Bake, and Slow & Low. These modes are just simplified ways to reach certain temperature ranges which can also be adjusted as well on the temperature/burner dial, however the adjusment is limited by the cooking mode. For example Grill/Pizza is 450°F - 600°F so the temperature can be adjusted between those ranges, but if you need to go lower you'll have to change the mode then adjust the temperature. All of this is really easy though because of the CyclonicHeat-iQ and Precision Burner Control technology so set your targeted temps the FlexFlame will reach and maintain it. I tested how easy it was by making pollo asado, stuffed jalapeños, and burgers. These all came out great and I spent more time sitting in my chair drinking a lonestar than I did having to nanny the grill and keep the temp right. Included with the grill is two 2lb bags of smoking pellets. Now for the cons, there's only one thing I found I didn't like with the FlexFlame. While this grill is Propane/Electric its mostly Electric. It will need to be connected to electricity to fully access the technology and functions. You can still light the grill without electricty, however if there's no electricity the ignitor won't spark and the burner pilot won't light. Without power you'll have to light the burner pilot manually by turning the mode knob to ignite the grill so you get propane flowing and then lighting it. I tested this by using a fireplace match, although a wand lighter could work too. It worked but it seemed to be slower to get as hot as it would've if it were powered. Overall, I really like the Ninja FlexFlame and it will be replacing my WoodfirePro XL. Despite the one con I found I am excited to do a lot more grilling on it. Its definitely made it easy and fun to do outdoor cooking and it looks great. I would absolutely recommend the FlexFlame if you want to get into grilling or are fan of the Ninja line of products.

TLDR: Well made, excellent assembly instructions, so flexible for all kinds of cooking. One hour assembly time may be optimistic. We entertain often and know people with a variety of food concerns: gluten free, lactose intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic. Needless to say, cooking for such a diverse crowd can be challenging! I was delighted to get the new Ninja - FlexFlame Electric & Propane Grill because it helps me with all of these things. But first, I have to talk about assembly. I knew this device would take some assembly, but it arrived in such a large box (on a pallet!) that I thought it would be minimal. I was initially concerned that the box recommended an assembly app called BILT to guide you through the steps, but I couldn’t have been more pleased with how this played out. The app talks you though each step of assembly complete with 3-D images that you can enlarge and rotate. The parts themselves are clearly labeled with descriptions and part letters. The nuts and screws are packaged together for each step in a strip with clear labels. The screwdriver and wrench you need are included and are of excellent quality. (No little hex wrenches). In the app, you can move through the steps sequentially, with simple controls to skip back, forward, or repeat. The tech writing geek in me was in heaven! The instructions claim that assembly will take about an hour. I actually took almost two, but in fairness, I read through the entire assembly process first, and took my time to be sure everything was done right. I think, for me, this approach prevented any mistakes or do overs. The main firebox portion of the grill arrives fully assembled and wired, so assembly is really about the stand and the shelves. It does require two people to carry and attach the firebox. Using the grill is a pleasure. Electric start works flawlessly, the grill grates are solid and well made. They can be reversed to create a flat grilling surface, or a more raised surface for that perfect cross-hatch grilled look. The drip tray is convenient to access and clean, or you can add disposable aluminum trays to catch any drips. The multi-function dial shows you which burners are lit for different kinds of grilling: pizza, standard, roasting, or slow cooking. The electronic thermostat maintains a preset temperature from 200°-600° F. The thermostatic control may be my favorite feature! No more coming to check on the grill only to find it has gotten too hot and everything is unintentionally blackened. The attached smoke box lets you add real wood smoke flavor using pellets. Finally, you can add some great accessories. A pizza stone, full and half solid grills for making HUGE breakfasts, and a grill basket.

I'm the kind of person who prefers grilling year-round to cooking indoors. I've used Weber grills for decades and, while I was always satisfied with them, when I saw Ninja's Flexflame grill and its capabilities, I immediately recognized its value. I've always considered Traeger grills but never felt they were worth the cost, but this Ninja is something else entirely. First things first: you cannot handle this assembly on your own. Trust me. It arrives in a huge box on a pallet via an 18-wheeler, so make sure you have someone to help with assembly. It weighs over a hundred pounds, and it took me about two hours to assemble. The process wasn't particularly difficult, but attaching the shelves, especially the right-hand table, was challenging. Don't throw away the included long screwdriver—you'll need it to attach the shelves. Also, the stickers are difficult to remove but leave no residue. I've used it a few times and have been very impressed. I've cooked filet mignon, chicken, and halibut so far. All were cooked perfectly, though I needed to learn the grill's specific heating effectiveness due to its convection fan. It needs to be plugged in to work at all (unless I've missed something), and the convection fan runs continuously unless the lid is open. It would be nice if the grill allowed for standard grilling without needing to be plugged in, but it seems the burner functionality relies on electricity. This isn't a big deal, but it's worth mentioning. I've used the grill mode and two-zone cooking, and the temperatures are very accurate. I plan to smoke some ribs this weekend and will buy the half griddle for breakfast cooking. Everything is all-in-one with this appliance, which seems typical of Ninja kitchen appliances. To my knowledge, this is their first attempt at a serious outdoor grill, and I feel they've basically nailed it, if not over-engineered it. What really surprised me was the quality of this grill. It's as solid as any Weber I've used, plus it has many additional capabilities. Basically, it's built like a tank. I did buy the cover ($99, which I feel should be included at the $999 price point, but oh well) as it's a very wide grill, and a generic cover likely wouldn't fit its overall size. Aside from continuing to enjoy using this grill several times a week, I am beyond impressed with what Ninja has created here. Given all its capabilities, this is, to my knowledge, the first grill to do it all, and at a price similar to Weber, Traeger, and Big Green Egg, etc. I highly recommend it!

The FlexFlame is a well-built, solid grill with the addition of a temperature control and a convection fan that assists with more uniform cooking around the grill surface. The FlexFlame arrived on a pallet, and did require a bit of assembly. I couldn’t fit the pallet through the front door, and the box was too heavy to haul in at by myself, so I had to break it down and bring the pieces in one at a time. No biggie, just something to keep in mind if you are having this delivered I assembled. It took me probably a little over an hour to put together, and there was one spot in the assembly where I needed to have a second set of hands to lift the upper part onto the stand. The instruction manual was good; there were probably two spots where I had to figure out where certain parts were, but that was about it. All the pieces and parts were in the box that were needed, and the finished product is a really nice looking grill. How does it work? Great! I haven’t been able to do all the cooking I’ve wanted to on it, but the things I’ve used it for have come out really well. The FlexFlame tries to take the guesswork out of outdoor barbecuing. It has several settings, i.e., roasting, grilling, smoking that automatically ignite certain burners. Close the lid, set the temperature, and the convection fan comes on while an LCD display provides you with a real-time temperature measurement. Ninja is nice enough to include a few starter recipes to give you an idea of the grill’s capabilities and how to use it. So far, I’ve cooked a dozen chicken breasts on it (just had it for a few days), and the uniform heating (no hot spots) and lack of flare ups has made for an excellent cooking experience. No issues with parts of the grill getting significantly hotter than others and overcooking some food while undercooking others, or, burning the outside of food while not really cooking the insides. The convection fan is the star here, ensuring that the heating is uniform. Another plus is the wood pellet feeder, which allows the user to provide a smoke aspect to your food. In use, I did note a nice mesquite flavoring to the chicken I made, although I didn’t cook it long enough I suppose to get the pretty smoke ring that lets you know a cut of meat was well-smoked. When I cook a brisket, I am for sure going to try the smoking aspect and see how it works out. All in all, the FlexFlame is easy to assemble, easy to use, and kicks out some amazing food.

This is a great grill even for newbies! The grill is set up to easily navigate the controls. The dial allows you to set the desired temperature and the big digital display shows you the current and target temperature. Once your set temperature is reached, it stays there. No guessing. Amazing! I love the convection fan inside as it makes the grill reach the desired temperature incredibly fast, and creates an even heat distribution, making the veggies extra crisp and sealing in the flavor of the meat. It is easy to clean and it grills meats, fish and veggies to perfection. It has plenty of space on either side for plates and utensils. The grill is large enough to cook for many people. It comes with wood pellets if you want to smoke food. You can slow cook and sear at high temperatures. The upper rack keeps items warm while you cook other things. We also use it for warming up bread or tortillas. The box it came in is HUGE!! The installation is made so much easier when using the app, as it provides a 3D picture that you can move with your fingers on every installation step. That on itself answered a lot of questions I had while installing. I strongly recommend downloading it and scanning the QR in the box. It did take me about 2 hours to install, but mainly because this was my first time installing a grill and I wanted to make absolutely sure I was doing everything perfectly. Otherwise, the manual says it would take about 1 hr with 2 people. IMPORTANT: It does require an electrical outlet, which might limit where you can put the grill. This Ninja grill is a MUST HAVE! I absolutely recommend it!

It’s spring and the weathers warming up and summer is about to be in full effect and you need a grill for the backyard or do you need a griddle and you’d also like to make pizzas. So what do you do? Buy all three pieces of cooking equipment? Nope, you get this the Ninja Flexflame propane grill. The Ninja Flexflame is a jack of all trades for the backyard enthusiast that like to entertain or just prepare great meals for the family. The Ninja Flexflame has three burners that can be use differently depending on cook settings. You can grill the traditional way. Add smoke flavor to foods with the wood fire bbq smoker box. Simply add wood pellets to the box and you got authentic smoke flavor to your proteins. There’s the cyclonic fan that evenly circulates heat and smoke to speed up cooking like a convection oven and to crisp things. The Ninja Flex flame also had additional accessories that can be purchased like the pizza stone, full and half sized griddle, stainless grill grates and more. I was able to cook steaks, chicken wings and burgers the traditional way. The wood fire smoke box added great smoke flavor to my steaks and was super easy to use. I also purchased the full sized griddle and let me tell you this is my favorite. Cooked breakfast on it with ease. Made some a few other dishes as well that only took minutes. Now that I have this grill I don’t need a separate griddle to take up space in the backyard. Putting the grill together was easy as well. I only needed help when putting the grill top on the base other than that it’s a one person job. All the bolts and screws came conveniently packaged and labeled step by step. Very thoughtful of Ninja to include the parts this way, it definitely made install way easy. Overall I’d recommend this grill if you’re looking for a propane grill and don’t want to purchase a separate griddle, pizza oven as the Flexflame can pretty much do it all. Side note the grill does have to be plugged in to operate as it needs power for the cyclonic fan and the precision burner control.

I've been using the Ninja FlexFlame few times a week, regularly and the summer isn't here yet but i can't get my hands off it. I'm just Loving It! I love grilling/cooking outside but with my past 2 propane grills that i had over the last 5 years was always a struggle, well not anymore. Having a grill like the Ninja FlexFlame makes a huge difference, i feel like i became a Grill Master in under a week and i'm not kidding this grill does it all! I did mounted this Grill by myself but i do recommend using a friend for the last part since the firebox can be pretty heavy. Then you'll need to run a power cord for the: Screen, Fan, Temp regulator and Wood-fire feature and a propane tank and you'll be up and running for some amazing outdoor cooking! I can go on and on about it but i'll keep it short and point few great things that makes this grill The Perfect Outdoor companion for the summer since after using it for few weeks couldn't find something that i don't like. **Great built quality => Very sturdy, easy to roll in and out with a great double wall insulated firebox that keeps the heat inside in cold/windy days. **Heat control => It is done digitally and it is very precise up to 600*F. When this thing fires up it's like a fighter jet engine and it gets quick to the temp that you need. The fan (Cyclonic iQ) ensures the even heat distribution and it's an amazing feature to have, makes cooking so much easier. **Versatile => 5 ways too cook straight out of the box with great add ons (griddle, pizza stone etc) this grill will cook perfectly from diamond marked steaks to smoked briskets, pizzas and even breakfast if you attach the griddle add on. **Foot print => The porcelain coated cast iron grill that by the way doesn't stick and gets's extremely hot very fast offers enough space for 6-8 large rib-eyes with a top rack that can hold your veggies in the same time. I strongly recommend this grill for anyone looking for one or just to upgrade! The way this grill functions with Smoking, Baking, Grilling and they all perform exceptional. You won't be needing another grill for a long-long time and you'll be able to do all types of cooking that will leave you or your guest impressed.

The best of both worlds in outdoor cooking

I have owned conventional propane grills, and smokers in the past and they both have pros and cons. I have also got a collection of Ninja appliances that have never failed to impress me. The Ninja FlexFlame is my new favorite by far. It takes the pros of both propane and smokers and melds them into one with the magical engineering I have come to expect from a Ninja product. It is easy to use, easy to assemble, looks great and has the ability for a vast variety in cooking. I have always wanted to be able to say I enjoy being out on the barbecue but that has frankly never been the case for me. The FlexFlame changes everything. I have never been able to cook better tasting food on a grill than I have since getting this. Propane cooking for higher heat and searing combined with the smoked taste and convection type fan gives everything a better taste and texture. Smoking is available with any temperature and is optional as well. I have done burgers, steak, brats, hot dogs, vegetables, and am looking forward to trying pizza next with the upgrades. Ninja offers a selection of FlexFlame upgrades from a cover, pizza stone and peel, expanded indirect cooking rack, griddle, stainless grates, and more several of which I have acquired to be able to cook even more with it. Unlike the typical smoker, one quirk about the FlexFlame is that it doesn’t have a big storage bin for pellets that it automatically pulls into the chamber, it has a small compartment you put a big handful into and it lights those up and you have to let them burn out when you’re done or add more as you go for a slow cook. But that is probably the only negative I can think of for it. You do have to have a plug and propane to use it, but you wont regret that once you get to taste the delicious food you can produce with it. I now love grilling, I want to use it as often as possible, and I never thought I would say that. Bravo to Ninja for yet another outstanding cooking product.

The Ninja FlexFlame electric and propane grill is a game changer when it comes to outdoor grilling and cooking! I have had grills by other name brands in the past, all with their features and gadgets, but this Ninja FlexFlame takes it to a whole new level. First off, you have to plug this grill in to make use of all of it's features. When you do so, you unlock the convection fan, thermostat and temperature controller as well as the igniter for the grill. Then you hook up your propane tank for the heat. As you open the shipping box (a really big box I might add - be forewarned) you have to assemble the grill. Ninja supplies the two tools that you need to put this grill together, and the tool themselves are great quality. All of the fasteners are great quality, with metal nutserts, bolts and nuts throughout. Assembly took about 90 mins, and does require two people to lift the main grill onto the base. After that you are good to go. It rolls on smooth, lockable 360 degree wheels and glides smoothly around the patio. Plug in the outdoor rated power extension cord and you are in business. The first thing I did was grill some pre-seasoned pork loins. Set the grill to 400 degrees and let it heat up. With that convection fan running, it heated up in no time at all, it was incredibly fast to get to temperature. Placed the pork loins on the grates and set about cooking them. It is recommended to pre-season your grill grates as well, to make them easier to clean, and to also help your food not stick so much. The pork loins were grilled to perfection in little time at all. Looked and tasted amazing! Absolutely loved them. Cleaning the grill was easy, I have a steam cleaner system for the grates that I purchased in advance and they cleaned right up really nicely. You will never have that 'new grill look' after you cook on it, but keeping the grills clean and hygenic is a must. The second thing I cooked were some steaks. I seasoned them again ahead of time, and then decided to use the smoke function, using the bag of provided pellets. I added the recommended amount into the hopper, which happened to be the contents of one of the bags. Something to note is that when using the wood fire pellets, you have to select them before lighting the grill by pressing the wood fire button. This then lights the pellet box and heats it up as the grill heats up. When the grill got up to temperature, I then added the steaks and they cooked for 9 mins. In that time, they achieved a fantastic wood fire infusion in them, they tasted amazing! Loved them! However, after turning off the grill, and shutting off the propane, the pellets continued to burn for about 2 hours afterwards, and actually burned through the whole bag of pellets. That was a surprise to me, however, full disclosure, I have not used a pellet grill before, so I have a learning curve. What that meant was that I had to wait for that pellet hopper to cool down before I put a cover on it for the night. Cleaning out the hopper was very simple, as it was just ash that was left in there. However, there was some distortion from the heat of the basket, and it didn't slide in and out as easily as it did when it was first assembled. And there in lies another challenge. This is an expensive grill, and it does not ship with a cover. That is an additional $100. And then there is the claim that it is a 5 in 1 cooking system, that acts like a pizza oven and a griddle etc., both of which are additional accessories that you have to purchase in order to fully utilize the option. That's another $50 for the pizza stone, and $170 for the full griddle plate, or $100 for the half griddle plate. So bear that in mind as you make this purchase, it says 5 in 1 on the box and on the grill, but out of the box, you have only 3 of those options available to you. The grill is well made, the ease of use is incredible, it really made grilling steaks and pork loins incredibly easy, and clean up was a breeze. Setting the temperature, getting the wood fire pellet smoke working was very simple as well, admittedly, I still have some to learn there. Overall, I really like the grill and will have some great fun using it this coming summer, but at the price point it is at, which was over 3X my previous 5 burner grill, I would expect it to have a cover for it at a minimum, and potentially the other components that make it a true 5 in 1 experience included. Having to spend another $330 for a cover, pizza stone, and griddle plate is a lot of additional expense on top. I own a lot of other Ninja household products and typically when they mention 3 in 1 or 5 in 1 on them, everything is included. So bear that in mind when making a purchase.

This grill is fantastic. I can’t say enough how much fun I’m having with it. I’ve done burgers, steak, kabobs and chicken. It has so many features and they’re all helpful in their own way. One of the coolest features is its precision burner, which allows you to set the temp between 200-600 degrees! I haven’t tried the smoker yet, but I plan doing that soon. The combo of the cyclone fan and precision burner really allowed a consistent and quick grill. I set my burger temp to 600 and within 12 minutes, I had perfectly done burgers. Perfectly melted cheese, nice toasted buns and boom. Quick and easy! ****Just note that like any grill, doneness depends on the thickness of the patty. Mine were about 2 inches. They would’ve been overdone had they been thinner. It’s not necessarily a major ding, but like all grills you have to purchase extras to really use the grill features. For example, you have to purchase a ninja pizza stone and griddle. I have a Blackstone, so I don’t think I’ll be getting a griddle but I absolutely will purchase a pizza stone! Pros: Quick start with electric starter Precision burner temp Woodfire bbq smoker Cyclone fan for even heat 5 types of cooking options (grill, smoker, griddle, roast, pizza!) Durable and high quality Technology of the grill! Cons: Need electric cord to use Slight learning curve Took slightly longer than anticipated to setup Overall: This grill is fantastic. I love so many features about it and can’t wait to fully dive in. Its blend of high tech features really allows a high quality and efficient cook. I love it. I love being able to leverage the precision temperature, which allows a consistent cook. I really think you too will love it.

I'm a "grill-a-holic"... as soon as the weather isn't spewing 3ft of snow every evening, I'm outside grilling. Rain? yup. Wind? goodbye eyebrows. I went to this system from a popular brand pellet smoker grill. HUGE difference! I've never been a fan of propane grills, but with this one having a smoker box for pellets, you get the benefits of quick grilling and the flavors of wood smoking. It's actually a fantastically interwoven appliance. I've cooked chicken, whole fish, steamed veggies, steaks... all of it comes out perfect and cooks in literally less than time than trying to panfry on the stove. There is plenty of direct and indirect cooking surface for just about any food you can think of. The precise temperature controls and multi zone cooking gives you perfect results without needing to stand by the grill the whole time. Assembly was fairly straight forward but fairly tedious. Definitely need two people to do it. Comes with an amazingly long screwdriver. The minuses? Really only one... This, like all grills, gets really hot. Some of the panels on the hood aren't rated to withstand the amount of heat this grill gets, and it's not sealed nor vented, so heat spills out through the sides and in a month, my hood is already quite discolored and the area around the smoke pellet box is rather warped. Not a deal breaker, but something that should have been caught and fixed during the design testing phase. Definitely a top quality grilling system that stands up well to the competition. The versatility and cooking options are going to be great to explore. I'm saving up for the griddle top right now. I highly recommend this if you have the space for a large grill. You can't go wrong with it!

This grill came well packaged and all parts were well labeled. The box is very big and the screws and bolts are clearly labeled with what step they go with. The base goes together first and gives a very sturdy foundation. The door installation was well thought out and hook on securely with a push in pin. The top is heavy and will take two people to set in place. After a few more screw installations, it is ready to go. It looks very good put together and the quality is top notch. To get started, you hook up a 20 lb. propane contact, set the digital control center to the desired settings and light the burners. The digital display is large and bright and can easily be seen at a distance. The grill surface is set perfectly upon the burner dividers and the flame is evenly spread over the service. There is an optional convection van that can be used when the lid is closed to more evenly heat. Food cooks effortlessly and the temperature is consistent. There are helpful instructions on the best way to cook varies foods. The grill cleans up easily as well. Ninja makes easy to use, high quality products and this by far the best propane grill I have ever used. I highly recommend to everyone and it is worth the cost.

    MAKES SMOKING MEAT EASY

The Ninja FlexFlame Electric and Propane Grill has charged everything I’ve come to know about grilling or smoking meat. It has 5 different cooking styles in this on grill, but to accomplish all 5 you’ll need to buy so accessories. My main focus for this little gem was cooking high quality meat for my family. Setup for the Ninja FlexFlame requires at a minimum 2 people. I would not recommend trying this put this grill together alone. The main reason is that it has quite a bit of weight to it. Other then that its quite easy to assemble. The instructions are detailed and it’s boxed with all the required tools and the hardware is packaged in order of when use them. Make sure to have an extension cord, because one will be needed to plug in this grill. It took be about 30 minutes to fully assemble this grill. Not only does the Ninja FlexFlame come with well laid out assembly instructions, it also comes with instructions on how to use it. Inside this booklet you find how to grill, smoke, bake and other things. It explains how to use each feature and what temps to set the grill at for the best possible results. They also added in a few recipes that I’m sure I’ll try over the course of using this grill. My impression of the Ninja FlexFlame is this, I think it truly is the future of grilling and smoking meat. For my first use, I put on a nice sized tomahawk streak. I wanted to smoke it and then reverse sear it. I’m glad this grill has a digital temperature gauge built into it so that you can see in real time what the temps are under the lid. I wanted to smoke this meat at a low temp before the sear and ended up having to adjust the temps down to keep the cooking temps down. I suggest using an internal meat thermometer. Once I had my meat at the temp internally that I wanted, then I removed the tomahawk and set the grill to 600 degrees which it easily reached and was able to put a really good sear on my steak. Just note that there are two sides to the grates on the grill and the flat side is used for searing. I cooked some ribeye steaks a few days after the tomahawk and taking what I learned from my initial cook I was able to smoke them to almost perfection and without using an internal probe. I was able to set the temp on the grill at a temp a little lower than what I wanted and noticed that grill actually climbed to the temp I wanted and stabilized. Using my desired wood pellets, the perfect amount of smoke was infused into the steaks and everyone was thoroughly pleased with the flavor. I have used this grill for multiple times now and with each use I have come to realize how easy the Ninja has made grilling and smoking. Not only does the meat come out tasting great it also cooks in less time which for me is an added bonus. What I like about the Ninja FlexFlame is how easily you can prepare a good piece of meat without and how well it does. I also like how versatile it is. What I dislike how I had to chase the temps in the beginning and that for the price, all of the accessories aren’t included. Other than that, this is an amazing grill and I highly recommend this grill for a grill that virtually does it all.

A Great Addition To My Outdoor Cooking Station

I just added the Ninja FlexFlame to my outdoor cooking station, and holy cow, this grill’s a total beast! I broke it in over the weekend grilling and smoking some juicy thick ribeyes, and it absolutely crushed it. I’m already pumped to fire up a few pizzas on this thing over the next couple of weeks. Here’s my rundown on setting it up, building it, and why it’s a great fit for my setup. Setup Was Extremely Easy with the “BILT” App Ninja nailed it with the BILT app for assembly. I’ve wrestled with plenty of grill builds, but this app made it almost too simple. It’s like a 3D guide on your phone. You can zoom in, rotate parts, and it even talks you through each step. No squinting at a lousy manual! The instructions were crazy thorough, covering everything from unboxing to checking the pellet hopper and digital display. I had it built in about an hour, which is nuts for a grill this solid. Add unboxing and cleanup, and I was done in an hour and a half. Ninja threw in all the tools, plus extra screws (nice move). Heads-up: some parts are heavy, so make sure to have a partner to help when putting the main top on the stand. Built Tough, Perfect Size This grill’s a great size. Big enough to be the star of my cooking station but not eating up all my patio space. It sits perfect next to my other outdoor kitchen gear, with a sturdy cart that’s got storage and wheels to move it around. The thing’s well made, no question, beefy grates, tough frame, and slick digital controls that don’t feel cheap. It has a stainless steel finish, and it looks sharp while holding up outdoors (especially with the cover I snagged). For those ribeye’s, it cooked like a dream. I ended up reverse-searing the steaks at the end, and the grill handled it like a pro, with low and slow smoking first, then a quick sear for crisp grill marks and juicy centers. The pellet system added a legit smoky flavor that took it to the next level although I wish the pellet feed was larger. Accessories: Got What Worked for Me I picked up the extended rack, half griddle, drip pan tins, pizza stone, and grill cover separately, since I wasn’t sure what I needed. If you know you’ll use all the extras, you’re probably better off grabbing the bundle with the grill to save hassle and maybe some cash. The half griddle was a total savior. I sautéed bell peppers and onions on it while the steaks smoked and grilled, and it came in handy for reverse-searing the steaks at the end as well. It’s super easy to clean, too. Drip pan tins saved me from scrubbing grease after those fatty ribeye’s. The pizza stone hasn’t seen action yet, but I’m stoked to make some pizzas over the next couple weeks! The grill cover is a must since it’s outside full-time, keeping the rain and dust off. Why I’m Hyped The FlexFlame’s a workhorse that is super versatile! The BILT app made setup a breeze, and the grill’s so far seems built to last. It’s perfect for people like me who want a multi-function cooker, especially if you love switching up cooking styles. It’s literally like having a controlled oven outside. Compared to other brands, it’s got unique tricks like the cyclonic fan and pellet smoke, but it’s not perfect. The pellet hopper’s small for long smokes, so it’s not ideal for all-day brisket sessions. If you’re a charcoal purist chasing that deep flavor or prefer a dedicated pellet smoker, this grill smoke might feel a bit light. But overall, I am super impressed with this new Grill by Ninja. I would definitely recommend it!

To start off, I've had many grills over my lifetime, but this one is definitely the most "standout" option given the overall feature set. Being able to go from a standard grill to a slow cooker to and anything in between is a dynamic shift for outdoor cooking. Same with the ability to dial in the correct digital temperature with rapid heating. I've had this grill for about 3 days so far and would love to share my general thoughts and opinions. PROS: -Large grilling area with 3 separate burners. Cook mode can turn on and shut specific rails off. -Accurate thermostat per cooking mode. -Convectional portion to circulate heat. Kind of like an air fryer, but taken to the extremes. -Able to swap out standard grill grates for optional griddle and pizza stone (sold separately). - Large premium design. Grill is pretty tall next to competitor options. CONS: -Base frame is pretty flimsy, but assembly makes it a bit more solid. I'm torn here because it can support the grill fine, but it seems cheaper than it should be. *To be fair to Ninja, I don't know how competitors are in 2025* -Extra accessories should be included.. at least the griddle option that slots right in. I'm a little disappointed that they made this an add on.. I could understand the pizza stone, but I think dedicated hardware should come with. -Doors don't line up perfectly. Not sure if this is intended, but looking at other users photos seems to show the same kind of issue. -Assembly is tedious and requires 2 people to slot the main portion of the grill onto the base. Comes in a large box weighing well over 200 lbs. -No side burner for those who care. COOKING: Great.. I had to swap out my old propane canister for a new one at a local store. Started right up with electric start functionality. No real issues. First thing I cooked was BBQ Chicken Breast. Seemed to do a really good job, even getting char marks through the heavy duty foil. (Refer to photos) I also made a pizza with my own pizza stone laying on top of the girl. Great char marks on edges.. Set temp preheat to 550 degrees for this. NEUTRAL: Overall value might be subjective to use case given there are grills priced much lower that can more or less do the same job, but I strongly believe NINJA has something solid here given the rapid heat, temp control, and ease of use for multiple cooking modes. SUMMARY: I really like it. I've had Legacy and charcoal grills my whole life and this one seems to be a massive upgrade on the front of modernizing the cooking process, as well as allowing alternative options such as slow cook (ribs) and "Bake". Basically a big propane Air fryer from my perspective. I wish it came with the griddle as it's a dedicated hardware piece, but maybe I can grab one later if I really wanna do stuff like breakfast outside. I think this is a solid 4/5. It doesn't completely blow me away, but its certainly best in class for the sheer amount of options given. Ninja also gives a 10 year warranty on this one.. which is competitive with other vendors. Can recommend.
