I grabbed the Nintendo Switch OLED Console - The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Edition in green, and it's like owning a piece of gaming art. The console is covered in detailed designs inspired by Tears of the Kingdom, with the back of the switch in black featuring stylish black swirls. The white dock is adorned with gold designs, giving it an elegant look, while the gold Joy-Con controllers boast unique green and white designs that tie the whole aesthetic together beautifully. Additionally, I bought a 1TB disk separately, so I can't comment on how large/small the storage capacity out of the box, is.
Pros:
- The design is breathtaking, with Zelda-inspired artwork that makes it a collector's item.
- The OLED screen is a game-changer, offering vivid colors, enhanced contrast, and deep blacks that make every game look better.
- Gameplay is smooth and seamless, thanks to the powerful internals of the console, ensuring no lag.
- Exclusive content like themed wallpapers and custom menus adds to the unique experience of owning this edition.
- Improved features such as better battery life, a sturdy kickstand, and a built-in Ethernet port in the dock enhance the gaming experience.
Cons:
- The upgrades, aside from the OLED screen, are not significantly different from previous Switch models, which might be a consideration for some.
- There's a chance of experiencing Joy-Con drift, a common issue with Switch controllers.
- The price is higher due to the unique design, which might not justify the purchase for those just looking for gameplay improvements.
The OLED Switch has proven to be a fantastic upgrade, especially for handheld mode, with its impressive screen bringing games to life with richer colors and deeper contrasts. For fans of The Legend of Zelda, this special edition console is a dream come true, offering both a stunning tribute to the franchise and an enhanced gaming experience. While the availability and price might be a concern, for those who value both form and function in their gaming console, this edition is definitely worth considering.

Solid Purchase and a Sleek Design

For an extra $10 USD compared to the standard OLED edition of the Switch this purchase is pretty much a no-brainer if you're a Zelda fan. The prints on the controllers, console, and dock are all high quality and don't seem at risk of simply fading away after some use.
Aside from the special design the console performs as you would expect for Nintendo hardware. You don't purchase it for the processing power, you buy it for the titles you can play on it. The mobility with the Switch lineup has always been great and the OLED model only builds on that. The rear kickstand is much more robust than the original Switch, the OLED screen really makes colors pop in handheld mode, and the larger screen while trading an ever-so-slight amount of pixel density for a smaller bezel and larger image is really nice. Despite it only being a few tenths of an inch larger it makes a noticeable difference.
Overall it's a great purchase. Would recommend to anyone who is interested.

Lack of significant hardware upgrades: While the OLED display is visually impressive, some players may have expected more substantial hardware enhancements or additional features.

I finally upgraded from the day 1 Switch I owned that was getting controller drift and odd marks on it due to my fingers playing games.
This system has been great. It has a texture on it that makes it a little more grippy than the original.
+ screen is nice and bright with no issues.
+The new kickstand is much more sturdy.
+ Texturized
+Bigger screen than original
+ Beautiful Design
+ All old cases can fit it.
- $10 more expensive than others

Great First Switch or Replacement For Zelda Fans

Got this to replace an old gen1 switch with a noisy fan.
Pros:
- screen is larger, brighter, with better contrast
- Zelda design suits me personally
- Dock is 100% the same, so if you’re upgrading and you have another tv, they can both be ready to play or charge your switch
- Nintendo has improved the account migration progress from what it was years ago - it was painless and easy, for the nost part
Cons
- screen is the same resolution as before, despite the improvements
- there is likely to be a new switch version announced in 8-12 months, so if you want improved performance or 4k support, you’d best wait for that
- account migration was easy, but it’s a shame that I had to erase my micro sd card and reinstall all my games rather than do a clone of my old switch and its files. That would have been an even easier experience.
- Be aware that this Zelda Edition does NOT come with the game. That’s easy to miss at first glance.
- The look of the designs will not be to everyone’s tastes. Make sure you look closely at pictures before you buy.
All in all, this is recommended if you like Zelda & the TOTK designs, are in the market for a new Switch, and know you’re not going to FOMO when the next switch version comes out.

I told myself the OLED wasn't worth buying unless it was a Zelda Edition. Then lo and behold, Nintendo granted me my wish. Finally a Zelda themed Switch at my fingertips! I absolutely love the signature Gold that is plastered on the JoyCon with the TOTK design. The larger screen wasn't something I thought I'd appreciate but it definately makes playing it as a handheld much more enjoyable along with the louder speakers. I completely recommend for any Zelda fan. Even if your not a Zelda fan, the design looks amazing!
Though others may feel differently about this but I was happy this wasn't a bundle that came with Tears of the Kingdom, since I had already preordered the game before hand. Getting this price for just the system itself was all I needed anyway. Transfering my files from one switch to another was easy though a tad bit time consuming. I guess my only complaint is that the Joycons run just like any other, that includes all the problems of drifting that may occur as any other Joycon. So it seems Nintendo still has to work on that. However, the beautiful design is still worth it.

The Best Special Edition Switch!

This is one of the best Switch designs by far, if not THE best. I honestly want to buy another one just to have on display. The joycons LOOK premium. The gold on the front makes it feel like you're truly playing with power (not paid by Nintendo, I swear).
The design on the dock itself is probably the best and cleanest I've ever seen. Not to mention how it has an integrated ethernet port, erasing the need to buy a seperate adapter. And when the switch is docked, it's *chef's kiss*.
The subtle circular design on the back is pretty simple and nice, and I'm honestly glad they actually worked on the Switch's base itself for once, since that doesn't often happen. Having a dynamic kickstand is also friggin' sick.
As for the screen, I've always felt like OLED Switches in general are the kind of thing you have to hold and play yourself to truly feel the difference between that and the regular kind— the difference being that the screen is bigger and better. Most people would shrug it off because its only "brighter" and only "slightly bigger", but when you have the handheld so close to your face, it really makes the difference— so much so that it's difficult to go back to a normal Switch.

Going from a launch Switch to an OLED is a breath of fresh air. As a primarily handheld player the improved screen, kickstand, and battery life have been very welcome. The limited edition design is amazing to look at, particularly the front of the dock. If you are a die-hard Zelda fan it is an easy choice for an upgraded or a first time Switch.

So I only have one gripe about these special edition Switches and it’s that they don’t come with the game but I get it came out like a week or two before the game released. If you don’t own a Switch or if your looking to upgrade from the original version of the switch do it I had the second version switch and upgraded to this one while I didn’t need to I did because I wanted the OLED but man this is probably the most beautiful Switch I’ve ever seen the pictures online don’t do it justice you have to see a video lol the dock is very beautiful as well my only issue with the Switch is the back of the Joy-Cons are white that’s my only issue with it the best part about it might be the kick stand is 1000% better than the original and version 2 of the switch this was my first Legend Of Zelda Console and I’m glad I got it because I know Zelda things become rare to find also the screen is a little bit bigger than the regular switch I believe the regular is 6.6 inch and the OLED is 7 inches

Upgraded from my launch Switch. It’s got a much better screen (smaller bezels, better color, glass protector), much better kickstand, speakers that still work (my previous one had a broken speaker), better battery life, sturdier Joy-Con rails, and less flimsy game card cover. The dock has the removable back cable cover, a smoother more modern finish, and ethernet port.
Specific to this model, the design is frickin’ fantastic. Absolutely love the color and art on the dock and Joy-Cons. The back of the Switch itself is nicely textured as well. I wanted the front of the dock to be textured with the art displayed on it, but it’s okay how it is.
Overall, I’m satisfied with my purchase as it upgrades my handheld Switch experience nicely. Nothing really changes when docked. The storage could be more but I already have a microSD card that greatly expands it so it doesn’t really matter to me.

I've had a launch model Switch for the entirety of its lifespan, in the hopes that this would eventually exist, and it did not disappoint. Not only is the OLED model even more of a worthy upgrade than I thought it would be, the screen no longer looks washed out, and the battery life on this absolutely trounces the original model, but it's all wrapped in a wonderful, Zelda-themed package.
The gold and white detailing is beautiful and tasteful, and my wife even appreciates how it looks on our mantle as opposed to the original Switch/dock. I especially appreciate the detail on the back of the Switch, as its not just themed Joy-Cons and dock, but the tablet itself is engraved with the design, and gives the console itself a unique feel in the hand.
5/5, wonderful and detailed special edition console that was the best way to play an incredible game.

Speaking as someone who mostly plays with their Switch docked, I went into this knowing it was a frivolous purchase. I am pleasantly surprised to admit that I was (somewhat) wrong and the upgrade was totally worth the money! The difference between the OLED screen and the original switch screen is a massive improvement. I actually play handheld way more now because it just looks SO good. The colors are really vivid whereas the old screen looks washed out in comparison. I’ve been working on finishing up BOTW in preparation for TOTK, and I hate to over-exaggerate… but the improved clarity of the screen honestly makes it feel like a whole new game. Or it could be the fact that I hadn’t played the game in over a year. Either way, it looks fantastic. The gold design also complements nicely with the Skyward Sword Joy-cons. However, I highly recommend getting a tempered glass screen protector on this baby fresh out of the box as it can scratch quite easily.

There is no superior version of the Nintendo Switch available. This is the one. Since the launch of the console so many years ago, the standard Switch was fine and did good; I was fine skipping the OLED model. But this... this is The Legend of Zelda Limited Edition Switch. And it happens to be the OLED model: So the kickstand is vastly improved, the screen looks nicer and more vivid, and the dock is meant to be showcased in your home (with bonus Ethernet port built-in). There is no superior version of the Nintendo Switch available right now because this is the one.

The Switch OLED makes an already great console even better with a bigger, beautiful OLED screen with gorgeous colors. Slightly better memory storage, much better kickstand, and the system still has the same proportions, meaning all your old joycons are still compatible. This edition in particular is even cooler due to the beautiful Zelda iconography and design work on both the dock and the joycons. Also, this new dock even includes a LAN cable which helps download speeds go faster. Fans of the switch should definitely consider upgrading to an OLED if they only still have a base switch.

Never thought I'd be interested in an oled but this one really sparked my interest as a long time zelda fan and I have no regrets. The designs on all parts of it are so cool and well themed, and I adore the color palette used. The oled itself is also cool, as the kickstand in the back is much sturdier since its a longer piece than the flimsy one on the standard switch, and the screen taking up the whole of the middle section just feels very logical and like the right move. Over all this was a great purchase and the preorder process was super simple.

1st up - The actual OLED Model itself. The screen is more vibrant and has more vivid colors than the previous models. The included dock also has an ethernet port so internet speeds are better for multiplayer games and downloads.
2nd - The actual design of this specific model:
The green and gold pattern on the Joycons is an awesome touch, the front faceplate of the dock is also really well made. The small details of the Joycon UI appearing in games during the controller selection section is also really cool!

This is an OLED version of the Nintendo Switch that has the Zelda ToTK theme. It is absolutely the best version to get as the colors stand out, but in a subtle way. The gold accent designs on the console are great and you can really see the difference and rich colors in game when in handheld mode with the OLED screen.
Additional Pros: has an ethernet port for faster downloads and online gaming. Approximately 6 hours of gameplay in handheld mode.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Nintendo Switch OLED has an awesome themed design on both the dock as well as the joycons. Coming from the original Switch I found that this console’s higher resolution screen was not only brighter, but a completely different experience when playing in handheld mode. The upgraded screen, paired with the larger internal memory, as well as the Ethernet being built in for this model are enough reasons to buy new or upgrade from the original Switch. An additional feature added for this model is a slightly larger space to slide the handheld into the TV dock. If you have a Switch with a decent amount of age on it you may know that the old docks scuffed the screen and the back of the console. The extra room on this one as well as the 2 added bumpers should eliminate that issue. The only negative that I have found in the OLED family as a whole is that the game cartridge port is more difficult to open than prior models. For me it is not a huge issue because I insert a game and it sits in the console for weeks or months as the only game of focus. For those who swap games out often, this could be a pain point for you.
