    Great underrated flagship phone.

So I needed a decent phone that has the flagship criteria and I didn't want Samsung or iPhone so I looked at this Nokia 9 PV. First of all, I wouldn't pay this phone at its retail $700. Best Buy had it on sale for $450 and that's when you wanna get it. After a few days of use, the phone itself is great, fast, easy to use and it just works. Now the goods: The pOLED screen is just simply gorgeous to see. It supports HDR so watching Netflix/Youtube contents that support HDR is awesome. The phone is easy to hold but it's easily slips away from your hand. Get a case or you're gonna drop it break it lol. The 6" screen is just right on point. Not too small or big. Just feels right. No stupid notch! (that's right Apple/Google/millions other manufacturers). Now the not-so-goods The flaws come in on its greatest features...the camera itself. It takes awesome photos when you use it right. The processing though...is something else. Since all 5 lens take a photo at the same time, it could take a few seconds to compile a single photo. My time was 12 seconds...more or less. Once the processing is done, the results is amazing. Hopefully Nokia fixes this with the next software updates. Another flaw is the fingerprint sensor. It could take a few tries to recognize my thumb and sometimes I just use the pattern key instead. Hopefully software update will fix this issue. No SD card slot and no 3.5 jack...yes this still matters to me but Nokia provides an USB C adapter for it. If you take pics in RAW that 128GB storage gonna fill up soon fyi. Would I recommend it? At $700 - NO. How about at $450 - YES. Also get an open box if you can find one. I got it for $350 and it's a steal.

It's great until you go take low-light photo. I got this phone less than a month ago, and today I finally had a chance to take it on a test on low light condition. Baam, my sluggish camera now acting up with blank boxes in some of pictures. (raw format) Buy this phone for great display with hdr, but not for the camera..

No expandable storage but enough storage i guess. 3. Thick bezels on the front, can do better. 4. Camera app response, can be improved with better updates. 5. Lack of Stereo sound.

and now it is here in my hands a new Nokia phone, and a PureView at that. i don't care that they have a newer chipset coming out this phone seems fast to move from app to app. the picks are fast to take unlike other phones on the market. it does not have a head phone jack, but does have a USB C to jack adapter for that i am sure (i did not test it yet) but it did come with earplugs. it is slick.. as in it could slip right out of your hands and off things kind of quick. sure it is still new, but would pick it over any other phone on the market right now.

    Not a better Nokia 1020

I had hopes that the camera would better than the 1020s, it is not. It is not even better than 950Xl. That said, I had to move as MS is abandoning mobile. Android is still a mess, even PIE, accept it. This is a nice unique looking phone. I immediately put mine in a case, so beautifully blue is covered. I find the screen pure and bright. The screen is a little sensitive, as I miss hit the keyboard often. I have no problems with the fingerprint reader. It works better than I expected. Face recognition works, but really, don't you feel stupid holding your phone in front of your face when you can punch in the pin faster. The 950XL had face recognition, also. The pin would be faster yet, if you did not have to press enter. So we are down to the camera. It is a good camera, compared to the mainline phones, I have looked at. But, for me, not better than my 950XL. I mostly shoot outside aviation photos, at distance and use the optical zoom and cropping to create the final zoom in my images. I need pixels. Five cameras with 12MP are still 12MP, just more data, not more resolution. I would shoot shots with the selfie, 20MP, but it has now focal range. I will close with this. The next question is would I recommend this to a friend, YES, if you are not happy with your current phone. It is fast enough, it had a great price $600, now $700, wait a while. If you are happy, wait for a better camera.

This phone has a very good price point considering the snap dragon 845 is being used. The fingerprint sensor is not very good but software updates can always fix things. The camera has a very good depth ability with its time of flight sensor. This enables better focus and also the ability to add depth to your image after it has been captured, this goes beyond the bokeh effect by introducing various amounts of blur based off distance away from the focus point.

This is my first new phone in over 3 years and I looked for quite a while before settling on this one. The good features are: excellent display (crisp text and easy to read); Perfect size (for me) as it is a bit smaller than my previous phone (Nexus 6p); the camera takes terrific photos that meet my requirements (ease of use, point & click); no bloatware (only the Nokia My Phone besides the standard Google apps); guaranteed updates and HMD is meeting that commitment; battery life for me has been very good but I am a light user compared to many; voice quality and reliability has been excellent on T-Mobile. For the not so good the fingerprint reader is very problematic. HMD has already said they are working on a fix for it. The Face Unlock works pretty well indoors but not as well outside. I generally just stick to a PIN code for now. Otherwise I am very pleased with this phone having had it for less than 2 weeks.

I love the Nokia 9 feel top of the line smartphone 2018. The camera its amazing despite its takes a little time to process the photo but im ok with that. The speaker.....the speaker need to be improved in new models if you want to enjoy the beautiful screen watching media content. The speaker its so easy to cover and muffled. Beside that i love my new phone.

While the phone itself is mega slippery requiring a case, the phone is relatively good. Some app icons don't load but Google assistant is there for everything. There is no headphone jack, so don't loose the tiny adapter cable. Am unsure about Bluetooth calling though, might just be my $80 wireless. Photos are fantastic once you get focusing down. Many photographic features too

I have owned this phone for 11 months now (bought it the first week it was launched in US i.e. March 2019). Seemed like I made a mistake from the very beginning. The fingerprint sensor has never worked properly so that feature is pretty much useless. Initially, the processing speed of raw images was terrible and it crashed the phone but they have fixed it now. Images still take forever to process but the phone almost never crashes. Even when the camera works, the images taken are inconsistant. You never know when the image will be oversaturated and overcompensated in terms of colors. When the auto focus feature is on, you cannot focus on things by tapping on the screen, it always focuses on stuff it wants to focus on while ignoring your tap. I was tolerating all of that as I was able to use third party camera apps which seem to work better (that means the software of the camera app is the problem) The quality of the images can in no way justify the penta camera setup. I have even compared the raw images of this phone with other phones which have this raw imaging feature, but don't see any advantage at all! The biggest problem came after 9 months of use. The rear camera continuously makes a weird chirping sound when turned on (the front camera is fine). the chirping is being recorded even while taking videos and can be heard during video calls (rear camera only). I have googled this problem but can't seem to find the solution. Nokia customer care is refusing to replace my phone with a new one and wants me to send the phone for repair but who knows how long they will take. I am looking for another phone for the time being. Pros: Great materials and screen resolution; feels and looks expensive. Getting 250 GB of memory at this price is amazing. The battery life is satisfactory. The android one software is clean and is great to use. Overall, this phone has been a dissapointment. I was extremely excited about the comeback of legendary Nokia but turns out it's just another chinese company pretending to be Nokia. It seems like they have put out a partially cooked phone in a hurry.

This is probably the most under rated phone for sale at the moment. It looks as if Nokia put everything they had into this beast. Don't believe the tainted reviews on you tube. I compared this phone side by side with my buddies iPhone 11 pro and it was just as fast, screen was nicer and pictures are not even close. Yes this phone is amazing. 400 dollars for the leader of the pack??? Yes my buddy looked sad when we where comparing them.

this phone is a real step up in technology and a positive move for Nokia. The camera features are unparalleled. uniquely smooth detail and stylish shape brings out the complex but delicate technology this device has to offer. most importantly it is user-friendly and makes life so much easier with its google assist feature. An additional characteristic is its durability. It might look delicate but it will stand the test.

I was impressed many, many years ago with the Lumia 1020 and so I ordered, during the 1st week of the launch, this new Nokia 9 Pureview. Feels so solid - beautiful build and amazing photo results. Am happy with what I have, but very unhappy with what is missing: Before ordering, I googled for the specs and found in almost all reports that this unit has 1 SIM card slot plus 1 Hybrid storage/Sim card. This information is plain wrong. According to Nokia care, all models sold in the US only have 1 SIM card. This is a real disappointment - but I'll keep the unit anyway, simply because of the cameras and Android One.

It works as good as any other premium android phone. It was super fast until i started to download few apps. Even if I try to close the apps, now I can see the environment is slowed down. Cannot blame the phone here. Did a comparison with my wife's phone (different brand - high end - still android) for camera, and the pictures on my wife's phone look better because the software enhances them more. The Nokia 9 does not enhance the pictures that much, but the pictures taken are way-way-way closer to reality than my wife's phone. No glitters, just realistic. Indeed, the save is not instantaneous, but so far it did not bother me too much. Design is nice and feels as any other premium phone. I gave an excellent rating, but I feel there was a room for a bit till flawless. But a good rating was not fair either, as it is much better than just good.

I have always been LG fan i have the G8, love the cameras and its feature pack. This phone has bone stock android with some under-hood optimization. Software is battery smooth. The camera is the main selling point of this device, if you are looking for point shoot device this isn't the one. It takes patience ,because the processor has to process all 5 sensors which could take up to 10secs per shot. I did a research before getting this devices. To be honest the pictures are second none, its realistic natural no saturated images, insane color accuracy, depth of field. I have compared it to other brands, Samsung, Huawei,Lg, xioami except the pixel (devices which competes with it the rest do not stand a chance) I'm satisfied with the device. The fingerprint is not perfect. I'm not a fan of those in-screen fingerprints, so its not bothersome. ***not idea for night photography*** Hopefully Nokia releases the 9.3 ***Your $1000 smart phone pictures can't compete***

Fingerprint scanner is not good and barely works. Got this phone for 599$ and at that price point I am happy with my purchase.
