The Nomo Smart Care Essential Care Kit arrived in a medium box, simply packaged. I recommend reading the QuickStart guide and watching the video, as I was initially confused about how it could help my elderly father with his care.
Once I watched the video titled “Unboxing Nomo Smart Care Essential Care Kit: Nomo Unboxing 1” on their YouTube page, it became clear that this product was designed with both the caregiver and the one being taken care of in mind. It allows my father to maintain his privacy and independence, while still keeping the family informed about his well-being and activity levels.
The kit includes a hub, power supply cords, two satellites, four tabs, and a lanyard that can be paired with a tab. The setup is straightforward and easy enough for my father to handle on his own, even if I mailed it to him out of state.
One of the best features is its versatility. My father is still very active but has trouble with his cellphone, making it hard to reach him at times, which is quite worrying. A camera would be intrusive, so I have one satellite in his room and another in the living room. He has a tab on the refrigerator, medicine cabinet, and one in the restroom for when he showers. Although he refuses to wear the pendant, it’s reassuring to have it available.
Setting up the Nomo was simple. The device provides spoken instructions during the setup, which is helpful if parents need to do it themselves. The app guides you through everything and informs you via voice when it’s set up, and it allows for additional sensor setup through the app. The hub update took about 2-5 minutes, and the Nomo alerted me once it was complete.
One downside is that some features are paywalled, such as emergency contact services and real-time information sharing with EMS. While not a major drawback, it’s something to consider.
The “Care Circle” feature is excellent for sharing updates with family and professional caregivers, ensuring everyone can stay informed about my father’s status.
In summary, I’m thrilled to be able to check in on my father while allowing him to maintain his freedom. The peace of mind it provides our family is invaluable. Sending pokes and voice memos is a fun way to stay connected throughout the day. Overall, I am very happy with this product.

A few months ago, my mom had a fall at home and couldn’t get up immediately afterwards. She ended up lying on the floor for a few hours until I happened to call in the morning and couldn’t reach her. We decided to look for a technology solution so Mom feels more secure if something were to happen again.
Nomo’s monitor does exactly what we were looking for in a helpful, yet unobtrusive way. After plugging in the system at Mom’s apartment, we installed an app on her phone. She then invited my brother and I to become part of her “care team.” This system was similar to where my aunt lives and the building requests residents check in by a certain time each day to allay concerns.
Configuring the hub, satellites, and sensors was also straightforward. The hub is connected via wifi, so can go anywhere there’s a good signal. The satellites are plugged in, then activated in the app to pair with the hub. Once installed, they all work together to give a picture of daily life.
There are suggested routines which the app helps configure. My mom and I worked together to talk through what she was comfortable having monitored. We chose not to use any of the sensors in the bathroom, as that seemed a little intrusive. However, Mom does have a sensor she wears around her neck to use as a panic button. It will also sense if/when she falls again and send an alert. We set up a satellite in the bedroom to monitor if she’s in bed longer than usual in the morning or other changes in her routing.
The hub is near the kitchen will help flag if she doesn’t make it in there before 10 a.m. There were other alerts the app suggested such as placing a sensor on her apartment door, so we’ll know when she heads out for the day. It’s supposedly so we don’t worry if no other movement is detected for a while. We may add that at a later point, but we all wanted to keep it simple at first. We also don’t want our mom thinking that we’re spying on her.
There’s a panic button included in the starter kit, as well, so that she can reach out if anything were to happen. We tried it out to see what would happen. The kit comes with a lanyard which the button fits onto. Pressing and holding the button causes the base to start connecting to the care team. We tried it as a test, in case mom falls again. Since I’d enabled phone calls in the app, I got a call from the hub and was connected to hear what was going on in the room. It’s a little confusing to have to enable that during set up as the app doesn’t say what it uses that permission for. My brother had only enabled notifications, so the app pinged him that our mom was connecting via the hub, asking if he wanted to connect. Now that we know how it works, we’ll be prepared if it ever needs to be used. If the panic button falls abruptly, the system can also be set to call us and/or mom. Nomo has a call center staff who will reach out if there’s no resolution via the app, saying that all is OK.
The kit comes with 4 buttons in total which can be used to track movement or serve as a panic button. We decided to place one near the floor on the shower door so that if mom falls in the shower, she’ll have access to it.
Having the Nomo system in place is not going to stop me from worrying about my mom living alone. The subscription cost is very nominal for the monitoring which they provide, including the live assistance. It allows us all to have some of the benefits of an independent living facility, without the high fees. I expect I’ll continue to hear from mom daily, but Nomo let’s me schedule those calls a little better around my schedule instead of adding one more thing to my morning routine of getting the kids to school and ready for work. I sleep a little better, however, knowing that she’s OK every day.

Piece of Mind for Us and Our Loved One

When I first saw this home-care system, I was immediately interested. Over this past year, my senior age mother-in-law has experienced several health issues, and undergone surgeries. We want her to be able to live as independently as possible, for as long as possible, and this Nomo Smart Care System should allow that to be a true reality for her.
Unboxing and setup was a relatively straightforward procedure. Of course, a monthly cost for the monitoring service is required, but the expense is more than worth it for the piece-of-mind this home-care system provides. While the cost might perhaps be prohibitive for some seniors on a budget or with limited income, this was 'doable' for my mom-in-law. Otherwise, the option is there for that cost to be paid by the caregiver family, if need be.
After installing the Nomo Smart Care App on each of our mobile phones, following the instructions to setup all the devices around her home, and spending some time customizing the app settings to our specifications, the system pretty much does the rest. Optimal positioning of each motion and sound sensor was key, and required a bit of 'trial and error', but we wanted to be certain all was "good to go."
Several features really fit our, and her, needs. Automatic 'real-time' alerts and updates, having those handy alert buttons on each device (placed specifically within reach just "in case"), and there being 24/7 911 dispatch ready should an emergency event happen.
Of course, maintaining our loved one's privacy and making sure her personal data is secure, was of utmost importance to us, as well. That said, we're reasonably confident of this even after just a short time using this home-care system. My mother-in-law seems quite pleased, so far.
The Nomo Smart Care System affords us a level of assurance and support during the time we are not able to be there in-person. It is our opinion that this full-time "electronic caregiver" monitoring system helps provide our loved one with an overall better quality of life.

The Nomo Smart Care Kit for Caregivers isn't just for caregivers. It's for anyone that cares about people you want to monitor. I tested this with my 82 year old grandparents and set it up in their home. They're very resistant to technology, but the nice thing about this is that once it's setup, it's like it's not even there.
To be honest there are other devices/systems that do similar things, but Nomo gets it right. They cater to older people that may need monitoring, but it doesn't have to be used in that way necessarily.
The kit comes with the main device hub, 2 satellites (the square cubes), 4 tags (the circles), and very clear instructions. Once you download the app from the app store (make sure you search for Nomo Smart Care), you're pretty much golden. The app is really done well and is straightforward to follow instructions. I also like how the Nomo talks to you to give some initial instructions such as to download the app, and also when you're connecting a satellite or tag and when they successfully connect.
The instructions in the app are very thorough. As long as you have the patience to go through each step, setup is truly a breeze. Activating the 90 day free trial is great as well. I've used many 'home security' type of systems, and although this is meant for monitoring, it can be used similarly and it works well. I put the hub in a heavily occupied area, satellite same thing, and the tags on commonly opened things like the refrigerator door and some other doors.
If you're on the fence, I feel this is worth giving a shot. I can't think of any way to improve the device from my initial experience. It may seem daunting at first, but truly, just download the app and you'll be on your way quick.

For those who are one, being a caregiver can be a LOT of work, time, effort and responsibility. Within the last few years my wife and I had to step into that role and begin to take care of my elderly mother who initially did not reside with us. This included having to go out of our way to check up on her several times a week, take her trash out, check her mail, clean up her house to name a few tasks. The most important job was her well-being and safety especially considering having been injured from falls and unable to get up or get to a phone for help. Over the past few months we have explored several options for remote monitoring including life alert systems which, in some cases, require a pretty hefty additional monthly cost. That’s when we came across the new Nomo Smart Care essential care kit which includes a hub for the care giver along with two plug in sensors and four wireless stick-on sensors with panic buttons you can place throughout the house.
First, let me start off with the installation. Unboxing and setting up the essential care kit was very easy and after downloading the smart phone application and setting up my account, Nomo provided simply video instructions for every step of the process. After plugging the hub in, a voice tell you what steps to do next through the smart phone app which included a recent update. I will say that the update did initially freeze during the process but I was able to unplug it and plug it back in and it worked just fine. While placing the plug-in and stick-on sensors and panic buttons in areas that are not blocked to sense motion and easily accessible if someone were to fall on the ground, I also experienced some connectivity issues however, with some patience, was eventually able to get them to sync to the hub and my smart phone app. I even placed one of the stick-on sensor/buttons on the provided lanyard which can be placed anywhere or hung around someone’s neck for easy access. The whole process took approximately 30 minutes and would have been less if it weren’t for the technical issues I had which I can’t pin on the device(s), my smartphone or the app.
Monitoring my mom’s house using the app was very convenient and provided me real time motion detection notifications to ensure she was up and about. I gave the panic buttons a few test pushes which notified me via the smartphone app and also via the voice on the hub. Once the panic button is activated, you are able to escalate the alert to one of Nomo’s live agents who can alert for help if need be. There are plenty of features within the app itself as well including temperature and humidity monitoring, outage and service logs, setting mobility, sleep, diet and bathroom goals and viewing an entire days’ activities to ensure someone doesn’t need assistance. I specifically placed one of the sensors in the restroom where some people could fall and one on the refrigerator door to tell whether someone is getting food. One thing I like is that it doesn’t require any cameras for monitoring to ensure someone isn’t violating someone’s privacy, only their movement and whether they need assistance.
The other thing I like about the Nomo Smart Care kit is it only costs $10 a month for the monitoring so it doesn’t break the bank in monthly fees and is, in my opinion, well worth the cost. Overall, I believe this is a great investment for anyone who is a caregiver and may not be able to be with or check on someone throughout the busy days.

There are a variety of care/surveillance systems, many of them include cameras and although for many it is a feature they are looking for, there are others who consider that perhaps with other types of devices without using cameras can do the job. Nomo smart care belongs to that type of device, it has very useful features to keep monitored the person being cared for, it is also easy to install.
The box includes 1 hub, 2 Satellites, 4 Tags, 1 Power Cord, 1 Lanyard. Installation is easy as the app tells you how to do it and what steps to follow to complete it successfully. Although in my opinion a kind of initial configuration for the kit that is purchased would not be bad, that is to say that step by step tells you what elements of the kit to install first and what later, and go completing a kind of levels / installation scenarios to complete it with some kind of test of the device and confirm that everything works well. While the app allows you to install each of the elements of the kit, you have to choose what you want to install first. This becomes a bit tedious because, at least in my experience, the app crashes sometimes or by modifying some settings, you have to close and reopen the app to continue.
After everything was completely and correctly installed it is possible to start monitoring the tags and satellites, the app notifies you if any of the devices detects movement, although the option of motion notification of each sensor is not recommended if the place where the system is installed will have constant movement. In the tags if the emergency button is pressed an alert is sent and must be responded to determine what action will be the next, either request assistance or confirm that the situation has been resolved, also the tags have fall detection and work quite well. The satellites that are connected to the outlets also respond quickly by sending notifications if they detect movement. It is up to each user which configuration to choose for the notifications, in the end it will depend on the needs of each user.
The device fulfills its purpose very well and I consider that there are two key parts, one is the app that allows multiple changes in the configuration of the network, security, device, notifications etc. and the other is the subscription, since the product offers 24/7 service it is necessary to pay a subscription which is understandable, fortunately it is relatively affordable $9.99 at the time im writing this review.
In summary, this device has very interesting and important features, as it can be of great help to be aware and monitor a person or persons who need more specific care, the fact that it has a lanyard that allows you to hang a tag is great, that helps prevent someone from getting lost or worse. The device allows you to create certain routines, reminders and set goals in relation to health care, which I think is excellent. Without a doubt for those who take care of other people and need to be much more aware of them, I can highly recommend this product, it is a great ally in this matter.

Product Review: Nomo Smart Care
Design and Build Quality:
The Nomo Smart Care is compact, lightweight, and well-built. The user interface app for setting up was clear and easy-to-follow when installing the hub, tags and pendants.
Functionality:
This device is well made however, the data it collects does not offer valuable information for caregivers. It only monitors movement. I obtained the product to review as being a caregiver for my mother, I thought this would be another helpful tool to monitor my elderly mother while at work.
It does not monitor heart rate or any key health states that you want in a monitoring system. Just the ability to monitor movement and if movement is out of the normal routine the system alerts you that they are not doing their normal movement routine.
The system has potential however having cameras in the house offers more information and monitoring for me while I’m at work and I am able to communicate with my mother anytime.
I do like the tags provided because I can place it on the doors in the front and garage to monitor if she is going outside and coming back inside. The same can be monitored via camera.
Ease of Use:
Setting up the Nomo Smart Care was straightforward, thanks to the app.
Value for Money:
Considering the range of features just monitoring mobility and the monthly subscription of $9.99 to allow you to monitor movement and contact emergency services if movement stops, it is not worth the money.
Overall Impression:
Overall, the Nomo Smart Care is new and has potential to be a solid product for caregivers who are looking for additional tools to help with taking care of family members who live alone or allows monitoring remotely while you are at work.
The reason for the 2 stars is that the dashboard and overall purpose of the system is not as useful as having cameras in the house. The system just monitors movement and gathers information for routine movement throughout the house. I found that the app dashboard and information provided is not specific or helpful.

Provides more Information than a Pendent

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
The Nomo Smart Care is an interesting and complex monitoring system for keeping track of someone who might need assistance. It goes beyond the typical wearable pendent which only provides a call when pressed. Nomo does this and more without cameras or invasive video pictures if privacy is important, yet can provide the simplicity of wearing a pendent if that’s important for your situation.
Setup is pretty easy to connect the various sensors to the main unit using the proprietary app. A monitoring plan is needed in order to make the system work and that is about $10 per month. The major difficulty is figuring out where to put the various system components based on the rooms and what you are trying to monitor within those rooms. The app provides suggestions and help with placement, but ultimately, it’s up to the installer. Even after initial placement, I am considering relocating the main unit to another room that needs motion detection and access to a panic button.
Motion detection works well, but the sensors will also pick up other family members and possibly pets that are moving in the space. The Kit includes the main unit with a motion detector and 2 other motion detectors that plug directly into a wall outlet that can be placed wherever.
I like the “Sensor Tags” which offer a button to press as well their ability to detect movement. The Tags work well to detect a cabinet door or refrigerator door being opened. A Tag can be attached to a lanyard (provided) in order to make a pendent with a button as well as detecting movement of the person wearing the Tag. The kit includes 4 of the Sensor Tags which can be place virtually anywhere and include a self-adhesive backing and internal battery included (CR 2430).
So what happens if a button is pressed on a Tag or the main Sensor Hub? The lights on the Tag will blink and if the button is held, it will turn to Red. Within a minute or so the caregiver will receive a Text message saying the “Panic Button has been pressed” and then a Phone call will be made to the caregiver. It’s an automated call asking if you would like to escalate the call to the central service at Nomo and/or would I like to cancel the request. This is an easy way to avoid a call to 911 if you receive the call and are able to cancel it. If not, the call would go to 911. You always have to option to “Call” the Sensor Hub using the app and have a 2-way call to the patient IF they are near enough to the Hub to hear it and talk to you. I they are not near the Hub, you will need to try a traditional phone or a cell phone call. Otherwise, it may escalate to 911.
SUMMARY:
I like the quality of the components and the ease with being able to connect the components to the main “Sensor Hub”. The APP is good with a lot of information. However, it can be daunting to figure out where to find all the information. Example, when trying to find history from a few days back you need to “look” a little harder using Summary, Activity, and using the App Calendar. I suggest you set up the system as instructed and then “play” with it for a few days to get a feel of what is detected and what you really need to monitor for your particular situation before you move components around. Would I recommend the system? Yes, I would for the person or family member that has the patience to set it up and make sure it’s doing what you want to monitor. It can be a powerful & helpful device, providing monitoring without uncomfortable privacy concerns.

When you're not able to be there 24-7 for an elderly love one who maybe has some health issues, a fall risk, or memory lapse due to Alzheimer's or Dementia, you need something in place to protect your loved ones and keep them safe. I looked at a lot of different options but nothing came close to the Nomo Smart Care Essential Care Kit.
Included in the kit : It comes with one main hub that has motion and sound sensing communication, two motion and sound sensors with light indicators, 4 motion sensing tags that have built in alert buttons. One of the coolest things in my opinion about the tags are wearable and they have a fall detection setting. And of course you can download their Care Circle Central App to manage the entire system as well available for Iphone or Android.
You can setup daily goals as far as Eating, Regularity, Sleeping, and Movement or Mobility. Between the Sensors and the Tags, you are notified what was done where it was done and how many times it was done, so you're able to keep a close tab on everything with the proper placement.
Another nice addition is if you buy the Beurer brand blood pressure monitor, pulse oximeter, body analysis scale, and non contact thermometer, they all communicate with the Nomo Hub adding to the convenience of having all of the health information as well as everything else the system collects.
All in all it was very easy to setup and installation was a breeze. I'd recommend it for anyone in like situations looking out for a loved one

This entry-level system includes everything required to keep an eye on a modest house. There are two satellite systems that you put into a wall socket for motion detection, a hub that links to the Internet and controls all the small units that record various actions, and four tags that you clip into commonly used goods.
All things considered, the information gathered from a residence can tell you everything that occurs there during the day. Excellent for keeping an eye on daily activities and the majority of things that happen in a home when you're not there. created primarily to keep an eye on a solitary elderly parent at home as they take care of everyday tasks and necessities.
All features are downloaded to your mobile device app. I think the IOS system is perfect, my android has a few wording issues in menus, there is a learning curve to get the best out of this system.
For instance, my senior spends a lot of time in the kitchen. By installing a hub in the kitchen, you may have an open line cell phone handy for emergencies like burnt food remnants on the burner or an open refrigerator. A panic button in case of emergency, the need to use utensils frequently during the day, or even the back patio door accidentally left open or opened.
The Hub itself features a panic button, a motion detector, and tags for moving things like chairs, pots and pans, doors, and drawers. Although the tags are unable to detect flooding conditions, they can measure the temperature within the property. In summary, this unit decomposes nearly everything.
For instance, you can utilize the hub to speak with someone or find out who is home if you find yourself in an empty house and you notice rapid movement. A tag on the front door to notify you that someone has entered the house, or left. satellites and hubs can notify you of the location of any movement within the house; the hub can be used to talk and respond to any activity in the house, such as a mother in the kitchen who is having problems using her flip phone or who is rushing around to answer the ringing phone in the house.
It is excessive, in my opinion, but when you're worried about your loved ones being alone it is indispensable.
Customer Service is also responsive, determined to please, and friendly.

We received the Nomo Smart Care system to help with an elderly family member who has dementia.
While using the system the set-up was easy, placing the satellites and syncing the tags were pretty straightforward. Satellites are motion sensors that tell you when there is motion or when there isn’t motion when it is expected. The Tags can be set-up on doors or cabinets for motion or they can be set up or worn by the individual as fall detection or emergency contacts.
While these are set to be a benefit to caring for an elderly family member, they also can be an issue for concern to that individual. We experienced several emergency alert notifications from the Tag we placed in the bathroom. It seems that my family members would press the tag every time they went to the bathroom. We even tried to have them wear the tag, but it was confusing when they went to bed, and they would wake up see the button and not remember what the button was for and push it. Another situation that did not work so well is that there are two individuals that live in the house, so using motion to detect if they are up and about did not work as intended.
Overall, this is a good product, but it is a hard adjustment for a family trying to care for someone that has dementia and cannot remember what the buttons are for.

The Nomo smart care system comes with a hub, along with 2 satellites and 4 tags. There is also a lanyard for attaching a sensor tag and wearing around the neck. The Tags are equipped with a panic button. The hub is electrically powered, and the satellites and tags are battery powered. Each battery has a ten-year warranty. The hub is covered by a one-year warranty.
Set up completed via the Nomo Smart Care app. After entering the startup required information the application takes you through the quick process of setting up each component type. Following the steps is easy and quick. I had the opportunity to complete the with-in 15 minutes. The application records each notification sent from each device with a date and time stamp. The application does not need to be on the same network as the devices. The tags have a motion sensor built in and record each time they are moved. I had installed mine in the front and back doors along with bathroom doors. I received a notification each time the doors were moved. The Satellites record motion and were installed in the hallway and bedroom. These features allowed me to monitor the patient from afar, Having not received any notifications would tell me the patient was not moving around the home. The use of the Tag panic button would have notified the service center and me that there was a problem within the home, thus allowing for emergency services to be dispatched.
There is a monthly charge to the company, this can be scheduled while setting up the service within the app. There is code on the box for the first 90 days of service.
The problems I have found do not speak of the devices but of the warranty provided by the company. You must keep a copy of the original sales receipt and upload a copy of the receipt to start the warranty. You also cannot register the product with the company without uploading the receipt. If you plan on giving this as a gift to a family member please ensure that you provide the receipt.

Features Can Offer Tangible Help to Caregivers

The Nomo Smart Care Essential Care Kit has the capabilities and features to offer strategic help and added peace of mind for those concerned about the well-being of elderly loved ones (or those with special health needs).
The kit contains:
- A central Hub which senses motion and sound and can be used for communications.
- 2 motion and sound sensing Satellites which can be placed in rooms or areas where extra activity tracking is desired.
- 4 motion Tags (roughly the size of 3 stacked 50-cent coins) to place on strategic items to track motion (one of these goes on the lanyard worn by the person being cared for).
- Note: Each piece includes an alert button.
Set Up
- Set up was simple, easy, and effortless. Download the app, plug the Hub and Satellites in and add them to the app and you’re ready to start. Syncing the Tags with the app is also fast and straightforward. None of the frustrations I often encounter when setting up new gadgets. This was very welcome.
- All of this works with the Nomo app on your smartphone and requires a subscription to the Nomo service in order to access all features.
Use
Once it’s all set up, the way the system is used can be varied according to your own scenario. The app includes options for tracking ‘regularity’ (i.e. how often the bathroom is used), accessing a medicine cabinet (or even individual containers if desired), how often the refrigerator is opened, or … ? This is all monitored by where you choose to plug in the Satellites and/or where you attach additional tags (beyond the one worn by the care-recipient). This requires taking time to carefully think through how you want to use each component. But it allows for endless configurations. This also means you can adjust it when needed as the status of your care-recipient changes.
During the early stages of my mother’s ‘forgetfulness’, I would have set up a system for monitoring when she accessed her meds. Later I would have added a sensor for detecting when the refrigerator was opened. After that, I would have integrated it with the in-home care we established. I can imagine that it could be deployed in a loved-one’s room at a care facility in order to confirm their activities. There are endless use-scenarios that can be imagined.
The app and service allow for a total of 5 care-givers (or concerned family members) to be included in the notifications and alerts. The app includes a messaging feature for group communications.
The Hub and Satellites can detect when a Tag indicates a fall, a cease in activity, and when an alert is pushed. Notifications are immediately sent in these cases. In the case of an alert button being activated, attempts are made by the service to contact the primary caregiver. For the purpose of this review, my wife wore a Tag on the included lanyard. For her, the lanyard became a nuisance and she moved it to her pocket. This caused a couple unintended alerts and set things in motion. A number of notifications went out and the Nomo service folks ‘called’ in via the speaker on the main Hub in order to confirm that she was ok. This was just right and appropriate for our situation.
Having used the system for only a couple weeks, I can’t elaborate on the additional features, but they are impressive and extensive. You can set up ‘programs’ and notifications tied to a combination of events - and much more.
The only issue is that it can be uncomfortable and intrusive for the care-recipient to wear their Tag on the included (bright orange) lanyard. You may end up deploying it in some other way. The Tags are attached via adhesive and thus could be configured as pendant, or placed in an appropriate pocket. It would be good if there were more options for this included with the kit.
The The Nomo Smart Care Essential Care Kit is a prime example of how well-designed tech can offer genuine help to care-recipients and those who care for (and about) them.

We are fortunate to have most of our parents still living. My wife's parents are in their early 90s and my mother is 97 and still going strong. Our parents still live either on their own or in an independent care facility. We live across the country from our parents but we wanted to have a way to know how they are doing without being too invasive.
Our main goal was to have the Nomo technology be a backup for our parents. They are fortunate to have caring neighbors living nearby but that isn't a foolproof method to know if something has gone wrong inside our parents home. The Nomo technology provides a wide array of capabilities including motion detection that can be placed throughout the home. We use the motion detection sensors but our main goal was to have the Nomo device pair with our parents home health equipment which includes a blood pressure monitor, pulse oximeter and thermometer. Pairing these Beurer devices with the Nomo base station allows us to monitor their heath vitals without having to ask them to "report in" to us every time they use the monitoring devices.
It took about 30 minutes to set up the elements we wanted the Nomo device and app to connect to. The setup process was pretty intuitive. We used a few YouTube videos which also help us with the process. Our parents don't have to do much with the Nomo device up and running. They just have to make sure they are taking their blood pressure and blood ox reading regularly.
The Nomo devices gives us a bit more peace-of-mind about our parents well-being since we live a long distance away. We view the technology as another tool to stay connected with our parents without making them feel that we are over-protecting them in the way they want to live out their years.

Technology has really come a long way and I'm glad that elderly care has not been forgotten. My wife's mom lives by herself and we worry about her wellbeing because of that. We thought about placing interior cameras to check on her every once in a while, but she did not feel comfortable having cameras in her home. That is perfectly understandable because I too wouldn't want someone watching over me like that.
We came across the Nomo Smart Care system and thought it was a great opportunity to try out. The essential care package comes with everything that we needed for her one-bedroom apartment. There were more than enough sensors included in the packages to place all around the home. What's even better is the fact that the "hub" is also a sensor with two-way communication capabilities.
One thing that we all loved about the Nomo system is that they are motion sensors that "keep an eye" on my mother-in-law. So, she does not have to worry about any cameras being installed in her home. This was a magnificent solution to that problem.
Another major plus is the fact that the system works off of wifi, so we don't have to worry about any subscriptions. The system is so easy to setup. Plug in a few sensor, mount the others on the wall, connect the hub to wifi, and you'll be running in no-time.
I would highly recommend the Nomo Smart Care System to anyone caring for elderly folks, or anyone, for that matter.

With a father and recent double amputee, this item was an immediate necessity for his caretaking.
He is a former Marine and a veteran, so he was really struggling with his newfound lack of independence, so we got the Nomo smart care system and thankfully, it’s not as difficult as how it looks. Nomo makes it fairly easy for the whole family (not just the direct caregivers) to check in on my dad. Of course, this all works through an app, so everyone needs to download it and learn their way around.
Once all setup, we found that we needed to re-organize the sensors throughout the house because we were initially getting false alarms at first of problems because Dad just didn’t do his normally routine everyday. This will be trial and error for just about anyone I’d imagine.
THINGS I LIKE:
- Automatic phone alerts in real-time
- No cameras for people to hack into!
- Alert buttons on each device instead
THINGS I DON’T LIKE:
-The surveillance of curse has a monthly cost; kinda pricy
-Wondering that the pool or EMTs will be called prematurely
If it is a contemplation to purchase, I would say, it’s worth the piece of mind. Just make time to work through the kinks beforehand you put too much stock into this item.

The Nomo Smart Care system is a great way to keep track of your dependent loved one's status and safety without the complexity and intrusion of cameras or video monitors. The system consists or a hub, two Satellites, and four Tags. A mobile app and subscription is required to use the product.
The Hub is installed in a central location, connected to WiFi, and managed via the app. Setup is simple as plugging the hub in, opening the app, connecting to the hub, and entering your WiFi login information. Once the hub and app are up and running, the remaining devices are added via the app and by pressing and holding the button on each. The process was very straight forward and well documented in the app.
Once setup, the Hub and satellites provide motion, temperature and humidity detection, and two way communication and panic button functionality, the tags can be used to detect the opening and closing of doors, use of mobility aids, as a fall detection device (when worn as a pendant using the included lanyard), or attached to anything else that moves and remains within range of the hub.
The system has a variety of alerts that can be programmed. It can also be used to provide the person receiving care to perform tasks and activities, so alerts can be set to remind them to take pills or perform PT or OT exercises. Even as Ana alarm clock or to remind them of meal times, etc. I've only begun scratching the surface, but it seems like a powerful system that can take a lot of workload off of a caregiver and allow the person receiving care to have a more independent existence while providing greater peace of mind for the care giver.
