If you want something that can play CDs, play direct from USB devices (such as phones, external hard drives, flash drives) and usb soundcard/MIDI control for your computer look no further!!
Feels well built and it does everything!

Great for the scratching DJ/No recording on VDJ

I'm a mobile DJ. I got this because I wanted a compact, cheap controller that worked with Virtual DJ. Out of the box it looks nice, the buttons and levers are all weighted and feel good in response to movement. The cross-fade is not weighted to make it easy for scratching and cuts. The unit itself I found a bit bulky. And although it was not the main reason why I got it, I found the CD players were efficient and respond instantly to manual commands. I also liked that is has a third auxiliar channel in case you want to connect an iPod or other media to the system. 'Full-kill' EQ knobs on the mixer are great, front slot load CD players and independent USB slots for flash drives are a nice touch as well.
The unit comes bundled with Virtual DJ LE. however I did not like was that it does not control the mixer on Virtual DJ, making it impossible to record my mixes. That was a big letdown, and the reason why I returned it. Although the mixer section does not control the mixer in the software, the plates do control the decks in Virtual DJ.
Instead, I opted for the Pioneer DDJ-ERGO-V (added to this post)
Although it doesn't have the CD decks, I realized it was a good compromise because I don't use CD's for DJing and it does everything else I wanted and more for the same price!
Because the unit works stand-alone with CDs or USB Flash, I would recommend this to someone who doesn't care to have full control of Virtual DJ in favor of a turntablist approach to DJing with a controller. It's good for what it can do.

Right out of the box, this system wouldn't allow me to switch from USB to CD. I either had to start with USB and only use that or start with CD and only use that media format. I don't believe that it was designed this way. Returned and purchased the American Audio Encore 2000 for the same price and have been more than pleased. Will not purchase another Numark product again.

It Does What It's Suppose to Do! Mixin' Mp3s

I've seen the Numark many a times in the store and online. Based on reviews from this site and others I didn't believe other consumer's experience until I had an opportunity to play and create a mix. Finally, Monday April 1, 2013 I was able to mess around with the Numark Mixdeck. Wow! I had 2 usb flashdrivse, installed my mp3s on unit. It was easy to go through tracks as if physically I thumb through LPs. Every Mp3 was alphabetized when I searched for track to cue from deck to another deck. Anyone that knows how to beatmatch can easily pick up on a mix once getting to familiarize the units keys and features.
