I feel truly lucky to have been able to snag one of these cards. For $700, it is truly a remarkable value. There is a bit of coil whine under load on my unit, but not too terrible. I can't hear it with the headphones I use anyways. Also, the 12 pin adapter is ugly, no way around it. With it was longer so it could have been hidden behind the motherboard. All that said, I'm getting fantastic performance with the card. It was a huge upgrade from my 980ti. 100+fps at 1440hz with settings maxed is no issue for almost all AAA games. 60+fps for 4k. The 3080 and Cyberpunk & Control have also sold me on Ray Tracing. When implemented well with DLSS, it really is a game changer. It stinks that 6 months later we're still not able to easily acquire these cards. Best Buy's shipping was not great. Gard was in a box with two flat air packets and had obviously been bouncing around. Luckily the Nvidia box was a lot better, and kept the card safe. Overall, I'm lucky to have one at all given everything, and given the chance, I'd happily purchase again.

Actually I give the product 4.5, but rounded up. 4 feels too low. I was glad I was able to buy the card after a long search. First time wasn't able to place pickup order, but after a few weeks was able to place order and pickup nearby. I'm upgrading from RTX2080FE to this RTX3080FE. I have a NZXT H200 case (mini-itx), and I play games at 40K60.
Physically the card is longer than RTX2080FE. The RTX3080FE has white lights and a fan blowing out the back and one blowing air toward cpu cooler. Idle the temps are around 37. If playing Black Ops Cold War, it stays quiet. But when I play RDR2, the fans are get loud, temps around 75. I think the one facing up is the one I hear the most. Compared to RTX2080FE, this seems louder. Also, I increased graphical settings since its a newer card.
First time I played a game I think I heard buzzing, likely coil while. Not loud or annoying, just present depending on intensity of graphics. The RTX2080FE had it but not much, and only noticed in RDR2. But this RTX3080FE I do notice more. Some of the more noticeable fan noise and coil whine I attribute to open top fan. But now after about a week of gaming I think the coil whine has gone quieter. I heard less of that electronic sound.
Overall I'm happy with this card. Design is beautiful and game run great. Everything is great except fan noise and slight coil whine, but I'm still very happy with this card.

Ok so after passing through the battlefield of bots, lost sleep, shed tears and possibly even blood from my blisters by furiously clicking F5 and clicking add to cart, I have reached super saiyan mode.
All joking aside, this card is huge! Design wise it’s absolutely gorgeous. Did I need a 3090 not at all. But it sure does shred any games such as
Horizon Zero Dawn (75FPS 4K Ultra),
SnowRunner (90FPS 4K Ultra),
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 (54FPS 4K Ultra),
Call of Duty Cold War (132FPS 4K Ultra)
Gameplay isn’t the only benchmark because some people may use this for 3D modeling softwares, Octane Blender, raytracing and other programs that can fully utilize the increase in cuda and ray tracing cores.
I’ll provide more updates along the way as I use it for various different applications such as Davinci Resolve, Cinema 4D, and Adobe Premiere Pro.

After trying for the last 2 years to get this GPU, I finally was able to get one by walking into a nearby Best Buy. The good thing about buying from Best Buy is you get the true $699 MSRP. No scalping here.
I used the Best Buy app to filter stores nearby which currently had 3080s in stock (despite saying "Sold Out"). One of my local Best Buys had so I walked in and bought it no hassle!
Im aure by now everyone knows how good this card is. But if you don't know, it's a real powerhouse. And when purchased at its $699 MSRP, the price to performance is great. Especially when factoring in Ray Tracing and high resolution.
The design of the card is also beautiful. It looks professional, not "gamery". I personally love a more discrete look to my PC builds. And it looks even better in person than the pictures and videos can show.
Overall I'm very pleased with the card's performance and noise levels. And the Best Buy associates who helped me out while purchasing were very helpful. They were quite pleased that the card was going to someone who would truly enjoy and make good use out of it, rather than a scalper.

The fe cooler is great and built with quality. Ampere is power hungry but offers decent performance. Good value if msrp even after almost 2 years. Nvidia control panel is meh from like the early 2000’s. Traded mine 3080 for a strix 6900xt lc for better performance at 4k and less power usage. Ray tracing isn’t something I use but dlss is amazing tho Radeon has fsr2 now so not a big trade off. I’d buy again and trade again lol.

If you are one of the lucky few that are able to purchase this GPU at MSRP, you will have THE BEST price to performance video card on the market, period.
The RTX 3080 runs through every single game on the market at any resolution you throw at it. 4K 60 FPS gaming is possible on nearly any AAA game out there, and this card doesn't break a sweat. I personally run games at 1440p, and am able to hit 144+ FPS on every game I play.
RTX brings with it both RayTracing and DLSS, both of which are a must for current and future games alike. Raytracing is stunning in all games that support it, and DLSS works like magic, giving huge boosts in FPS with no loss in fidelity.
The only negative I can find about this card is some of the materials used under the cooler; specifically the thermal pads. Under intense gaming (and mining, though I don't mine on my cards), the GDDR6X memory modules hit temperatures of 110 C, and the RTX3080 will start to thermal throttle because of the insanely high temperatures. Replacing the pads with higher quality ones from 3rd party manufacturers does net you temperatures almost 30 C cooler, but is very risky, so be careful!
To sum it up, despite some minor temperature issues, this GPU at this price CAN NOT BE BEAT.

Great GPU for 4K gaming. There is a little bit of coil whine on mine in very high fps situations (300+) but it's not noticeable in most cases. HDMI 2.1 has allowed my LG B9 OLED to use GSYNC and 4K @ 120hz. This has been great. Most games that I've played I've been able to get 120fps after tuning the settings a bit.
The two slot design is probably the best feature of this vs the other styles of 3080 in my opinion. I wouldn't have been able to fit the others in my case which can only support a 2 slot graphics card.
Buying one was extremely difficult. I spent almost 2 months trying to buy one. Great GPU I just wish nvidia would have had some supply at launch, hopefully this improves soon.

So I'm not going to talk about the availability of this card. Since although that is a major issue, I'm reviewing the card, not that.
The Founders Edition of the RTX 3080 is well-built, solid, and good-looking, and it stays cool and quiet even when overclocked. I recommend under-volting the card since it stays cooler, quieter, and uses less power, all while keeping it at the same performance in games. Though the included 12-pin adapter cable is bulky and it looks out of place on such a great-looking card. Though you can get another 12 cable if you wanted to. Seasonic sends their own for free.
This thing is an absolute ludicrous. Sometimes it’s faster at 4K than the RTX 2080 is at 1440p.
It's a great piece of hardware, and combined with DLSS and RTX, you can't beat it.

Excellent card!! I was so excited I got a chance to buy one here at Bestbuy. These cards are hard to come by but it was worth the time searching for one. I’ve always been a console gamer and finally decided to build a gaming PC. I just happen to come into it while the 30 series was being released. My computer sat without a graphics card for a month but so happy to have it completed.
Some have mentioned the card being loud but I myself don’t think it’s loud at all. Especially not when I’m using my headphones. Have not had any over heating issues either. If you can find one of these cards available...buy it! If you want 2080ti results the 3070 is the one to get. The 3080 is better than a 2080ti, cheaper and much better value for the money.

What can I say....this is the most sought after RTX 3080 Founders Edition card. I happened to be at the right place and the right time to pick up this card. It has a unique dual-axial push-pull fan design, and can handle the heat from the card much better than the previous generations. It’s a 2-slot card and fit nicely within my case. I recommend undervolting a bit to get the best balance between speed and power consumption. I had no problem overclocking this card, though that resulted in increased temperature. I did not encounter any issues with the fans. The performance of this card is way above the 2080 super I had. I used it mainly for 1440p high-refresh rate gaming and is very satisfied so far. Highly recommend.

My brother and I built our computers in August before the stock shortages happened so we were lucky. He got a 2080 Super and I got a 2060 Super. The 30 Series GPU's release dates were announced and I wanted to get an FE. Come release date, I didn't get a 3080 like everyone else. So I downgraded my 2060 to a 1660 Super in hopes of eventually getting a 30 Series and then I'd give the 1660 Super to my mom's build I was working on. Cut 6 frustrating months later and CONSTANT checking each day, I finally got a 3080 FE on Best Buy with NO issues during checkout. Yeah, I know, I was surprised to. So far I have no issues with the 3080 and I think it's amazing. I love the design of the FE compared to the other AiBs. I'm running 1440p with a Ryzen 9 3900X along with this and VR is amazing. The 1660 Super I was using previously would give some lag here and there but now it's so smooth with the 3080.
It sucks that this year has been the worst in terms of out of stock supply/scalpers/miners/etc. but I'd still hold off and keep trying to get one at msrp or close to it (unless you're rich and don't care about price but that's not me).

Build quality is awesome, love that it doesn't look or feel like a toy. Plays all the latest games at the highest possible settings and gets awesome frames. I use it for 1440P ultrawide monitor and it easily pushes 130-200 FPS depending on the game (around ~144 on black ops using DLSS). Highly recommend this over the partner cards that look like fisher price toys. The thermals on the card are also great, in a BeQuiet 500DX case my card idles at ~ 27C and hits 70 ish max during gameplay.

I been waiting to upgrade my GTX 1070 for a while. This thing absolutely destroys the performance I was getting before. I went from around 150 fps in Overwatch to maxing 400 fps no problem. Along with this, I got to experience RTX with Cyberpunk 2077 for the first time. Cyberpunk runs pretty well, I am currently sitting at 80-100 fps with max settings, max ray tracing, and quality dlss at 1080p. If you have been waiting to upgrade, this is a good place to jump in.

This card is a beast....and looks great too. Coming up from a 3070 the performance is definitely a little better. With an msi afterburner fan curve i usually keep that card at 65 degrees under full load. Did have a weird noise when fans spun at 80 percent but noise went away after two minutes and haven’t heard it since.
If you have a 1440p 144hz or higher monitor this card is perfect. Couldn’t be happier with my purchase

This GPU is well worth the price. Assuming you can find it for MSRP.
I installed and was up and running with no issues in no time. The blower style may not be the best for all cases, but it works just fine in my ITX case.
Which is another pro to this GPU, it's the smallest of the 3080s, making it a good option for some small form factor cases.
It's played AAA games in 4k with great framerates (60-130 fps) no problem.

Insane that I was able to grab this during the mid-November drop. Recommend joining discord servers for instant drop alerts, using the BB app and storing payment info (be signed in, I used 2FA), and making yourself available in the morning towards the end of the week (Thurs/Fri) as that's when BB seems to drop FE cards in addition to partner cards which seem to be gouged in terms of pricing. Good luck to all the gamers out there trying to snag this card, it truly is amazing price to performance at MSRP.

Glad to have got one and it's living up to promises. Have had a blast overclocking and testing while waiting for a waterblock - and in the meantime picked up a vertical mount because it's just so beautiful. It's not the fastest card on the market and AMD is coming out with some great new GPUs, but I'm just happy to have one of these in my system now.
