After looking at (easily) fifty different Android media-streaming boxes online, I decided to go with the best! Do your research and get a box with plenty of memory for fast browsing and no buffering. For me, that's the Nvidia Shield.

Just a great streaming device. I am not all that interested in gaming and am using the nvidia for streaming. The nvidia is working flawlessly and is well worth the price. The nvidia shield will not disappoint buy the Nvidia shield!

I've tried several Android TV's over the years, from TV with built-in Android TV to set-top boxes. By far, the Nvidia Shield TV is the best. If you use Amazon Video, this may be the only Android TV that you can actually use it. The Shield TV has kept me from having to use my Roku Ultra. I love how seamless and integrated Android and Google services are in the Shield TV. Super quick access to YouTube Premium, Play Music, and awesome Google Assistant. I'm very happy with the Shield TV.

best streaming box out hands down. pricey but well worth the price! so easy my fiancee can use it. the built in chromecast is the bees knees.

I decided to drop Buckeye Cable because it seemed like the prices just kept going up and up. I was hesitant on getting SlingTV because I tried it out with the Xbox One app and it was just horrific. I decided to get the Apple TV (4th Gen) instead of using the Xbox One app because we knew someone that had it and it worked well, but at the last minute I changed my mind after reading reviews for this device. And all I have to say...is wow what a great choice I made!! I had a Best Buy gift card which at least reduced the cost for me, so the cost wasn't the issue at the time. I hooked the device up and instantly I was in love. The remote control that comes with it is great. The controller that comes with it is great. I love being able to use the controller or remote to talk to the device to search for something. Not only that, but I absolutely love Android over Apple products (though Apple does do great things on some levels that Android doesn't), but the apps work great on Android. I love using Hulu, Amazon Prime videos, Google Videos, Sling TV, Netflix, and even Vudu. They all work great on this device!! The ONLY issue I have had so far with this device is actually not the device. It was just the Sling TV app and once in a while (and not often), using the back button will cause the app to crash but other than that...it's amazing!! I love being able to use Videocast (Chrome App on Windows) to stream movies from my PC upstairs to the NVIDIA SHIELD. It totally replaced my Google Chromecast since it literally functions the exact same way. I use this device along with the Electrical Outlets as my means of internet in the basement and it all just comes together perfectly. I cannot say enough about how much I love this device!! I would recommend this device to everyone and anyone that was thinking of using a streaming device. Ohh...and did I mention you can stream your games from your computer as well to this device? That works great as well!! I love being able to stream my Hearthstone game to my TV. :) If on the fence, I think you would love it. I think we watch more TV now then we did before because of this device. Ohh...and you can download the CBS/Fox/NBC app as well to this device which allows you to stream the local channels that Sling TV doesn't offer because they are free anyways. And you can hook up a USB drive or external drive to watch movies or pictures from it as well. It's just a complete package and as you can tell...I absolutely LOVE it! :D

I cut the cable cord recently and started streaming my TV channels. This unit was highly rated and was compatible with Playstation Vue so I picked one up on sale. I also use an Amazon Fire TV and both are connected to my network wirelessly. This one performs so much better and quicker than the Amazon unit. It's also got gaming and a gaming controller for those gamers out there. Not my thing but I do use the gaming handset with headphones when I want to listen to the streaming TV without bothering others. Great item.

This device loads apps very quickly unlike my old Fire TV Stick which can't handle Kodi. In terms of gaming it comes with a good selection of free games via Gamestream, and I play games from my PC streamed through this device with the supplied game controller in 4k resolution on my GTX 1070 at medium settings. Looks beautiful on big screen! Games tested were NBK2k19, Mortal Kombat X, Street Fighter V, Resident Evil 7, GTA V, Rise of the Tomb Raider via PC streamed. Two thumbs up!

I could not believe play games on this thing I was Surprise u could so went on steam try a game called Defiance 2050 and my pc was off still able to play it that win I got won over. I'm one very happy camper

This is the best box for streaming TV and playing games. This product is a little on the expensive side, but in the long run worth every cent. no buffering since I've started using this. love it.

The Nvidia Sheild is with out a doubt the best streaming device on the market. Forget Google Chromecast, forget the Amazon Fire Stick, and forget the Roku. The only box that comes close to this is the Amazon Fire TV and it really isn't all that close, believe me, I have owned all the others and still use one or two but not on my main TV. It does cost more than all the others but as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. I loved mine so much I bought one for my Son and he loves his too.

Like the features but hate the remote. I have a Apple TV that this replaced to get the 4k and other features. (Instead of buying the ATV 4K version) This remote is the worst! I had not realized how great the Apple TV remote was until I started using this one. What I do love about it is the audio! Don't know why but the audio from this just woke up my receiver! All streaming I do now just sounds great! Overall, the picture is good when there is 4K content but I am not seeing a jump from the previous Apple TV. I do like the gaming and ability to do quite a bit of other things that Apple TV could not. Overall, I just hate the remote, especially the volume adjust! It sometimes takes a button push to wake up just to slide the volume up or down.

There is no disputing this is the best steamer out there. The performance of the unit is second to none. This is Android TV at its best with Amazon on it with great casual games. It's awesome that the game controller and media remote comes all in one package. The new game controller is amazing. The remote is horrible though :-( The new remote is making a great device feel like a bad device. It is great that it has an IR blaster, but the remote feels cheap and performs as such. The performance of the remote is too buggy. It works sometimes and doesn't during crucial times of streaming. I really wish I had the first generation Shield TV remote, as it felt more solid. I really wish the remote was better so it didn't infuriate the members of our family when they want to simply pause something and can't do it because the remote is in La La Land.

Was reluctant to make the leap from Fire Stick and (Roku) but once I got the Shield I realized it is all it is cracked up to be and more. Being a novice at this I was a bit nervous but once I started to view online tutorials I was comfortable using it. I have found a new hobby. Love the Shield. Do not recommend it for neophytes unless you make the commitment to learn about all of the features and engage in constant study.

I love this device. Excellent for tv streaming and gaming as well! A little pricey, however fluid os and no lags.

If you are looking for the ultimate streaming device this is it. Easily add Kodi and other apps. No lag like the fire stick. Love the gaming controller. If you plan to primarily stream this is what you need.

If I could give this more than five stars I would. I have had a Firestick and an H96 Pro Plus before this and I was beginning to think that streaming was not going to be a good way to see movies. They stopped while playing and generally did not work well. The Shield is like driving a Ferrari after driving a Pinto. It is unbelievably fast and works perfectly. Don't waste your money buying the others just because they are cheaper. The Shield is worth every penny.

Chances are if you are reading this review you are wondering whether to get the newer 2019 model or this 2017 model. There are plenty of articles telling the difference between this model and the 2019 "pro" (same chassis layout). If you opt to buy this one, make sure to do comparative shopping. Some can be had at a much lower price as the 2019 comes into stores in volume. I love this little device as I am a movie fan and it can not only play back 4k streaming (from 4k sources) but is excellent with my own 4k files along with more complex -higher end audio. For net gaming it does quite well with your own network being the bottleneck. The 2019 pro has a couple of items that separates it from this model. Namely, the primary chip is a "+" version which translates to a modern take on the 2017 chipset allowing for features such as a technique to upscale 1080p to 4k with superior results in most cases. Superior as in better than most other devices. As well a new remote is offered which I believe most will prefer. The 2017 shown here includes the handset for gaming. The new model does not come with handset device which must be bought separately. If you want to simply get into the Nvidia world and already do gaming with say x-box or playstation, then you might want to look at the 2017 model with just the hand remote and use your gaming handset from either the x-box or playstation by pairing it with the Nvidia Shield TV. Overall, the 2017 was the premiere streamer in its year and is only now eclipsed (slightly) by the 2019 version of itself.

At First I was skeptical. After a couple days of use, I figured out how much control and customization your given with settings. All my apps and fast, there is no lag or buffering. I connected a Ethernet straight to my Shield and I love the speed. I used the free games that I'm allowed to play and I was amazed how fu it is to use this as a gaming console. I stream TV, movies, shows, play games, or surf the internet. Its an amazing console.

There is so much I’ll can do with the shield. Look at it as mini computer! It’s a fire stick on steroids. The sky is the limit you can do! You can add storage for games and whatever else you want to do!
