Great scooter for the streets of Puerto Rico, that front and rear suspension is awesome. 24mph almost everytime, has a lot of power, you gotta be carefull not to lean while accelerating cause this scooter has torque and it will send you back fliying. The breaks arr GREAT, if you need to stop suddenly at full speed it will stop really fast. Got it for 799 but if it was 999 like it will be soon I would have boughy it too. Have a great one and if you wanna go fast, just cruise, go up on hills only loosing a little speed, or jjst have fun, this scooter is amazing for a commuter one.

The scooter is quick and fast and I really like the dual suspension that the scooter have. I think this scooter is better than the segway Max G2, because the Neon Ultra has bigger battery and quicker. The only I didn't like about it is the app it doesn't have that much features but its fine atleast it goes up to 24mph. When charging it only takes 5 hours empty to full. Anyways I'll give it a 10/10 I would recommend this to a friends. Thanks Bestbuy.10/10

To be brief on why i'm giving thia scooter 3 stars is becauase i hqve got it to go up at 24 miles an hour about 4 times, i weight 185 lbs and i ride it on the same streets and it usually runs at 21mph or 22 at most!. I'm pretty dissapointed because this is my second scooter and i'm ywt to find one that performs 100%. I was hopping they updated the software thinking it might be a software issue, i inflated the tires at the recommended preassure and a little bit more since i read that it might help going faster but nothing helped.

I have owned the Neon Ultra ES40 for a year now. I'm 5'9, 180lbs and the scooter is very fun to ride. At my height and weight on a full charge, the scooter maintains 24mph for a mile or 2 and then drops down to 22mph. It is then able to maintain 22mph for 10-15 miles before dropping down to 19-20mph. The suspension and lighting are amazing, and OKAI has a great cell phone holder accessory you can attach to the handlebar - available on their website. Other reviews complain about the app, but I don't mind it and appreciate the firmware updates provided regularly by OKAI. App would be much better if it located the scooter in real time. If this scooter had the "find my" feature for iphone, I feel that it would be the best scooter on the market for the price. I added a location tracker tile to my scooter so I can track it down if someone dares to steal it. The tires do need to be filled occasionally as they will lose air if you hit a lot of bumps at high speeds. It's best to not ride the scooter at 20+mph over bumpy sidewalk so the tires don't lose air. The scooter can still be driven safely back home if the tires do happen to lose air. I just recently bought another ES40 for my 14-year-old daughter. I appreciate that the scooter has 3 different speed modes which allows for children to ride it safely at slower speeds. OKAI customer service is impressive. My charger stopped working properly after 8 months and OKAI quickly sent me a new one.

The scooter is great it’s definitely alot stronger than otherd I’ve tried. Great suspension and a comfortable ride the only small gripe i have with scooter itself is probaly the handlebars are a little more narrow than i would like but otherwise amazing scooter. Strong acceleration decent break, but the app has to be the biggest drawback. The app ruins what would be otherwise hands down one of if not the best scooter under 1k. But without basic things like allowing you to change how fast you accelerate or even what the top speed is for each mode it really holds this scooter back. I hope they fix the app and i can change this review to 4 or even 5 stars but for now it has to be a 3.

Good ride, love it apart from the fact that I can't seem to find a seat attachment that is right/fit the wide base. Head light attachment to frame is brickly and can easily be broken. Ride and looks nice, very powerful, beautiful lighting all around.

As someone who has both Okai ES scooters i have to say the ES 40 in an awesome upgrade! The dual suspension is marvelous! You will not be disappointed with the quality, design and effortless ease of the scooter. I have many scooters and brands but this one along with my Segway is tops!... I do like the dual brakes on other brands and which Okai doesnt offer. However its a wonderful scooter and should have it for years...I think its that reliable!

I LOVE this scooter!! This is my 3rd OKAI scooter. I started with the Neon pro, which is a great beginner scooter, but has some design flaws. Like you can’t attach a basket to the handlebars because it will tip over. Mine tipped over so many times. It broke the charger and I had to buy a new one. Then I upgraded to this scooter and it is the most fun. I’ve had in a long time! The dual shocks make it off sidewalk capable, and it gets up to speed to 24 miles an hour. I dance on my scooter and I’ve never had so much fun. It’s powerful too. Just a slight push of the power could pop a wheelie, If you’re not careful. The Neon Ultra is best for an experienced driver. The long lasting battery lasted approximately 26 miles, maintaining an avg speed of 20 mph. The turn signals are a safety upgrade making it perfect for nighttime driving. This was a great investment!!

I recently had the chance to take the Okai Ultra ES40 for a test drive, and my experience with this scooter was a mix of highs and lows. On the positive side, it offers a spacious platform and delivers an incredibly smooth and comfortable ride. The torque and acceleration also provide an exhilarating experience. However, there were some drawbacks that I noticed. Firstly, the overall build quality fell short of the standards set by Segway. I found that the stem and steering column had a slight wobble, despite my attempts to tighten all the screws, which led to a sense of insecurity. The neon lights, while present, didn’t seem to serve a significant purpose as they weren’t very bright. Furthermore, I found the mobile app to be poorly designed, with certain features not translating effectively into English. Additionally, the scooter lacks cruise control and regenerative braking, and the quality of the brakes was disappointing (minus two stars). If you’re willing to overlook these drawbacks for the sake of a smooth ride and are less concerned about the mobile app, the Okai Ultra ES40 could still be a suitable option for you. In the end, I returned it to Best Buy (kudos to the helpful staff) and purchased the Segway G2 Max which I will give a hearty five stars.

The scooter rides well, the only downside about the ride performance is the modulation of the brakes. It’s hard to apply only a tiny amount of braking, it’s all or nothing.
The advertised range is significantly overstated.
I weigh 170lbs. With relatively flat terrain, keeping my speed less than 17mph my around-town range is more like 25 miles per charge.
The speedometer isn’t super accurate either. It exaggerates about 1.5mph.
The app isn’t great, but there’s hope that subsequent updates will improve it. Specifically, I would like to be able to set up my own parameters for the three drive modes.

Absolutely thrilled with the Okai ES40! This electric scooter has exceeded all my expectations. The build quality is top-notch, offering a smooth and stable ride even on uneven terrain. The battery life is impressive, easily lasting for my daily commutes without needing a recharge. The acceleration is quick, and the braking system feels very secure. Overall, the Okai ES40 is a fantastic blend of performance, convenience, and style. Highly recommend for anyone looking to upgrade their ride! 5 Star all the way!!

It definitely goes to 24 above 60 percent and if the wind isnt too crazy. Range is questionable you can probably go farther the less fast you go but on a full charge of just zooming your going about 10-15 miles. Bestbuy employee. Maybe the Kqi3 max is better. Niu was a great brand after trying out

This is an overall good scooter, battery lasts for a decent amount of time and the dual suspension makes for a smoother ride especially over bumps. The main drawback I find is the regenerative braking, it's all or nothing and most time its so strong I don't even get to the physical brakes. I literally have to brace myself from getting pushed into the handle bars because the regenerative braking is so strong, sometimes I feel like I'm going to bend the stem from bracing myself form the regenerative brakes.
The app is useless unless there's an update to the scooter's firmware, all you can do on the app is change the light color, how the dash is designed, although the route planning part is nice, I never really use it over my phone's native nav app. It would be nice to be able to adjust how strong the regenerative braking is and maybe the top speed of the different drive modes (high or low). Another part that really annoys me is because I have connected my phone to the scooter via bluetooth, whenever I come near the scooter, it automatically powers on even though I don't plan on using the scooter making it drain the battery over time if I don't notice and manually turn it off. Seriously, why is this a feature, it feels more like a bug, if I want to turn on my scooter, I'll press the power button myself.
Overall, I do like this scooter, it is fun to ride. All of the problems I have noted can be fixed with a firmware update. hopefully OKAI sees this and takes our reviews seriously as I've noticed I'm not the only one complaining about the braking issue. I would recommend buying this only on sale, I can't imagine buying this for $1000

I'm going to frame this review against the ES40's main competitor the Segway G2 MAX. They're similarly priced, and are both long range, dual suspension scooters. I have the pleasure of owning both. TLDR: the ES40 is better in every metric except for the brake response. Specifically, there is no analog control of the regenerative braking. There is no option to feather the brakes and slow down gently. The regen braking kicks in full power as soon as you nudge the brake handle. For this reason alone, I cannot recommend this scooter. It may sound like I'm nitpicking, but it's really that bad. I have to hang on the handlebars for my dear life so the sudden impulse doesn't cause me to fly off the scooter. I have to brake "with intent", as such, the riding experience is no longer enjoyable. I just can't relax while I'm on this thing. Spec-wise, it's the better scooter. Stronger brakes overall, noticably more power, higher top speed, bigger batteries. My commute uses 35% battery on the G2 and only 21% on the ES40, Segways range limits are laughable. The ES40 also comes with treaded tires, so there is better traction off-road. But all that goes out the door when you can't simply enjoy the ride. The G2 has perfectly tuned brakes that feels like squeezing a regular bike lever. The ES40 wins in specs, but the G2 is "good enough" in all those specs and feels like a much more refined product. So if you want my opinion, just get the G2 instead. I'm crossing my fingers for a firmware update that can fix this, but I'm not holding my breath, as other Okai products have allegedly had the same issue. I'd return the ES40 if I didnt overzealously throw away the box. And if the manufacturer gives a canned reaponse to this review, it's a bad sign for their customer service quality. Other differences to point out is that the G2 had taller handlebars, which I find more comfortable. The G2 also has a longer base, which contributes to a feeling of greater stability. The G2 FEELS safer. The Segway app also allows for greater customization. The top speed, the amount of torque, and the strength of the regenerative braking can be adjusted on the G2. ES40 is missing these features. The ES40 is also notably heavier, probably due to the bigger batteries. In conclusion, unless Okai fixes the brake response, I recommend getting the G2 instead. Or if you plan to ride HARD all the time, or you want to ride off-road, then maybe the ES40 is for you.

Super impressed with the ride and power of this new Neon Ultra. I have ridden the Neon Pro extensively and this is a major upgrade over that one, which was a very nice scooter in it's own right. Significantly more responsive power-wise and seems to be better on rough roads as well due to the improved suspension on both front and back.
Range seems to be very similar to the Neon Pro as well even thought it is rated slightly lower in that area. Overall, very happy with my purchase and love OKAI!

The actual performance of the scooter is not bad, a few glitches in terms of power but a good sturdy ride non-the-less, very quick to charge and easy to operate. My issue is more with the app and the locking key, their performance is quite spotty

Let me start with what i like. Love the adjustable suspension, rides smooth perfect ride. Love the app i love everything about it other then whats advertized on the box!!! The first 10% of battery it will get to 24 mph 90% and below it stays at 19-20 mph no matter how the air in tires are even on a smooth road it will not go 24 mph below 90% battery. My other complaint is the mileage! Ive used the battery from 100-0 2 times now and have a total of 41 miles and thats not even close. I put into consideration my weight wich is 205 but thats not even close to the max limit. I dont know where they got this info on the box but its a stretch or its false advertising. I spent the extra money for the features i did not get amd i felt like i got scamed. Ive seen scooters half the price of the DISCOUNTED price perform the same. BUY SOMTHING ELSE!!!!

I’m really impressed with the Okai ES40! It’s built like a tank and handles rough roads effortlessly. The front suspensions made a huge difference! The sturdy frame gives me a lot of confidence, whether I'm cruising through the city or tackling uneven paths. It’s also surprisingly comfortable despite its rugged build. This scooter has quickly become my go-to for getting around, and I can’t recommend it enough. If you need something tough and reliable, the Okai ES40 is definitely the way to go!
