My daughter used this camera to capture videos and stills while scuba diving. It takes great underwater photos and videos. Even though the camera is waterproof, we bought the Seafrogs Waterproof Housing for additional protection underwater. This camera also takes great photos out of the water.

This camera is perfect for traveling. I have brought it everywhere from snowmobiling to snorkeling and it has performed great. The underwater function was very easy to use and the pictures came out decent. Still have to work on adjusting the settings for those so the pictures come out clearer. The only downfall is that there is no lens cap included. You would think it would come with the camera, but you have to purchase it separately which is a little ridiculous to me. Besides that, it is a great camera to have for any adventure.

Bought this camera to take on a hiking/backpacking experience in the Grand Canyon. This camera took incredible pictures in the water and out. It is tough and rugged. It took a beating climbing up and down canyon walls. It got scratched up but nothing hindered it's performance. I'm very happy with this camera and would buy it again if I had to do it all over. Very easy for a beginner too! My only negative comment - I had to go looking for the manual online. It didn't come in the box with the camera. And in the big picture (ha ha), that's not so bad.

We love our TG-6. We had the TG-5 and then upgrade to the TG-6 when it came out. This camera is great for diving. We use it all the time and get great photos. Especially macro. It’s also really good for above water photos. But where it shines is underwater and macro.

Shoked about the poor image quality

I thought very high of Olympus and I love the concept of this camera, but the image quality forced me to give it back. I used to use an old film Olympus with two lenses (built in) and loved it. Two years ago used the TG5 with the water proof case and loved the underwater / outside pictures. I was over excited to buy this camera so I started to run some tests the next day. I was completely shocked how poor the images in plain daylight came out. I started searching about taking the raw images instead of jpeg and to my surprise many people made comments about the pink circle this camera and its predecessors has in many cases. You have to be careful about the angle you shoot if you want to avoid it. That is crazy. I tried it outdoors and indoors with same result. I did not see this issue with the TG5, but maybe the additional "glass" layer from the case did help. Now, I am not willing to pay the extra money for that case, just so I can take a somewhat decent photo. On the positive, it really comes really close if you are into macro. It really hurt to give it back, but I don't get it why Olympus does not listen to what people complain. This issue was since TG4 I hear, so no excuse. I do believe they have huge potential and their camera can be the best on the market for this segment, but will see if the new owner of Olympus will do anything about it. I attempted the raw files, but even those are terrible and their in-camera implementation of noise-reduction is just plain useless. Even with that removed the plain day image was bad and noisy. Check the pine pictures with the pink circle and aside from that, you will see how bad the image is.

Bought this as an upgrade to my other Olympus Tough camera that no longer would keep a tight fit of the battery. Bought the underwater case as well and did a wreck dive down to 93 feet. Of course you lose colors down that deep but it did a nice job with the video being clear even at that depth on an overcast day. Other dives were shallow reef dives with max depth of 32 feet and did a nice job with both the still shots and video. Tried using the underwater macro shot for a couple of nudibranches but there was significant surge underwater and not still enough to capture. However, pics of the nudibranches just using the regular underwater setting came out really nice. When in shallow water it does a nice job with the colors but even at 30 feet unless it is very sunny, without an external light it doesn't quite capture the colors correctly. However, with some minor edits, they turn out great!

I have an older Olympus camera that is water and shock resistant, and it still takes great photos. This one is very much improved with many more options. Takes great photos and is perfect for me--a senior citizen with a love of capturing the wonders of outdoor life on camera. I have been using digital cameras for decades, and this one is excellent and versatile.

This is a light weight, easy to use, high quality camera. It takes photographs like professional cameras except you click and shoot. I took photos this past month in the mountains and it was snowing. The snowflakes looked perfect. I was so proud of the pictures they looked like they were taken by a professional photographer using a tripod stand and lighting. I took pictures of my daughter and son swimming underwater and you could see the water bubbles very clearly, even better than the naked eye. I highly recommend this camera to anyone looking for a good camera, even professionals should have this in their pocket. This is actually my second Olympus Tough TG Water Resistant Digital Camera, I lost my first one on vacation a couple of years back, I left it behind at one of the sites we visited and could not find it.

Purchased it as a gift for a 10 year old. The camera works well. Took it recently on vacation and were able to take lots of very nice pictures. The camera takes nice shots under water. I was able to dive down to about 25-30 feet with it and take pictures of a sunken ship and other sea life. Camera performs reasonably well in dim light also. Definitely a good value for the price.

This is my third Olympus underwater camera. I upgraded since this one has RAW format and my older one didn't. I love the macro setting. You can really get close up to flowers, bugs, or anything else.

I actually bought and returned it at a Christmas price of $379. At that time I thought it was a great deal. Picture quality indoors or even outdoor at dusk was not good at all. Video just forget it. You can look at the reviews such as pcmag, digitalcameraworld, etc, they may give it good reviews, but I certainly didn't see it. Possibly if you use a tripod or good at photoshop. I used it like a phone... see a shot ...take it. Basically not worth the price even on sale. Another big thing it doesn't even come with a lense cover. That's a $50 extra item to purchase.

I bought this camera to replace my previous waterproof camera I had. I took this camera to mexico and it did not disappoint. It was easy to use, transferred pictures to my phone fairly easy, and is overall a great camera for the money.

Purchased to take while kayaking. I added a floatation piece to it in case it falls into the water. It takes phenomenal pictures. I even used it in the pool and took some pictures of my family. The newer version of this came out so this version may not be available.

Brought to Hawaii. Took plenty of pictures. Never had to worry about damage from rain or dropping. I will be getting the extra case to be able to have even better peace of mind for taking underwater shots. We will be using this for years.

This is a really good camera but has a problem with something in it draining the battery even when turned off. NOT recommended for use during a day trip. But if you, like me, are using it for home recording then it's a great camera.
