Customers are saying

Customers consistently note the excellent call quality and ease of use of the Telo Internet Home Phone Service. Many appreciate the low cost and straightforward setup process. While some users experienced challenges with porting their existing phone numbers and fax functionality, the positive feedback on call quality and ease of use outweighs these concerns for most customers.

Ooma rocks! It is very easy to setup and get started within minutes. Our home phone service with a cable company was far too expensive! Ooma service in our zip code costs around $6 and some change, saving $18.00 per month. Also, porting your number from the cable to Ooma was painless. Ooma states to keep present service until the phone number is ported to them. You can also pick a phone number from a list to use until your number is ported. In fact, you can keep this number after your number is ported. Ooma states porting your present number could take about 4 weeks to do this; however, like others stated it was just 6 days! The device is very simple to use. Connect it to your router, then plug a phone into the jack on the back. Also, if you want it connected to all the phones hardwired in your house connect it directly to a phone jack in the wall. If you have cordless phones, just plug the base into the back of the Ooma. I highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed!

Let me start by saying that we have had numerous problems over the years with our landline and finally decided to get rid of it. We had our existing landline number ported over to our Ooma account and it’s been working great for over a month now. We’re even able to use all of our existing phones with it. Also, some great new features for us like being able to answer landline calls from our cell phones. We have a fast internet connection and voice quality is great.

Very easy to setup. I ported my landline phone. Customer service scheduled the cutover and completed it in a day. Excellent voice quality and easy retrieval of voicemail on the device or mobile phone. The mobile phone app works well and allows you to see all inbound calls and retrieve voicemail. If needed you can use the mobile phone app for outbound calls too. I would highly recommend this device.

Excellence product to stop overpaying for landline! Normally pay another company nearly 30 bucks a month but with this device I don’t have to keep doing that. Extremely easy to set up as well. All you need is to have internet & landline phones to plug in. Went from paying $30 to $6 a month.

This was a replacement to my prior ooma who met it's demise from a lightening strike. This is a vast improvement to the older version. Buttons higher and it's easier to clean. It's super easy to install and if you want a phone to be used at home for cheap this is the way to go. You won't be disappointed.

Great product, good service. Ported old number to Ooma. Friends have been using Ooma for years. Stopped cable in the past, never liked COX. Finally got optical fiber, stopped DSL. Happy camper.

I was very aware of the product, knew several people who already bought one and had even trialed the Business version. For me it was a no brainer and I was just waiting for the right time to make a switch. But when I found myself in need of another phone line rather than calling Cincinnati Bell I bought the OOMA Telo unit. So rather than pay the phone company another $50 per month I pay less than $5. I'll be switching my main number to OOMA when my current deal runs out with my phone company.

I just plugged it in per the instructions, logged into Ooma, and within 30 minutes was making a phone call with my new phone number. You get to keep the new number even if you have your existing ported over, which I did. Both numbers work on the phone. Ooma's support is very good too - I called to confirm the unlimited calling to Canada with the premium plan before purchasing, and they were very helpful. The premium plan including tax is about $14 / month for unlimited US and Canada calling. I am totally satisfied.

I had one of the first ones and it lasted 5 years. I love all the improvements and the fact that you can connect an ooma hd2 handset to it as a primary line without extra wifi or Bluetooth adaptersis a plus. Crystal clear calls and I use it as a pass through to the internet to my Xbox one to prevent quality of call issues.

The Ooma home internet phone works great and was easy to hook up with the help of the Ooma Company's customer service. I upgraded from a very old model. It was affordable to purchase and is also very affordable for an ongoing home phone service.

A home phone became a must in my home, so we decided to get the Ooma. Easy set up with great customer service if you ever need it. My only dissapointment is that the Ooma does not have a built in wifi/bluetooth adapter. I purchased it for $40. In this age in technology, everything should have wifi and bluetooth built in. A must get!!!!

It takes time to get this set up and to get a number ported. Help is via chat, and pretty responsive. The product works at a 5 star rating, I only put it at 4 as it can be frustrating and time consuming to set up.

    Helps Lower Your Cable Bill!

I was looking for ways to trim my cable bill, and wondered if I could get a better deal on phone service. Call me crazy, but I still prefer to have a landline for voice quality and reliability (and for the occasional faxes). Cell reception in my house isn't the greatest, so I prefer the landline when talking to friends/family. The phone portion of my cable bill was $40/month (yikes!). I was familiar with Vonage, but that was still $10/month. After some researching, I came across Ooma. It got good overall reviews, and was one of the top rated services in a leading consumer research magazine. I got my Ooma unit at Best Buy. It was super easy to setup (plug one end into my router and the other into my phone line). Sign up was a breeze, and I was able to get service almost instantaneously. I wanted to port my old phone number, and saw they charged a porting fee. If you signed up for one year of their "plus" service, they waved that fee. I chose this option, since I found a discount code (I can always cancel next year, since I probably won't use the extra features). The porting process took around a week, but I got status notifications along the way. I've been using it for several weeks now and really like the Ooma app on my iPhone. It notifies me whenever I get calls at home, and I can listen to VM from anywhere. There are tons of other features available, but I haven't used them. I've also used Ooma to call family in London "on the cheap". BTW, the only thing you have pay for each month are taxes/utility fees (~$5 for me). I know phone lines aren't that exciting, but this unit shines in helping me trim my utility bill!

The set up of the unit is easy as are the directions. You must complete your activation and preferences online and there are a couple of spots that might be a bit confusing, so time will tell, knowing that you can always go back and revise/update as need be. I am not understanding the 4 weeks to port over my phone number; porting is usually done within a mater of a few hours for cell and land lines. I might have rated this higher if this capability was more accommodating. I also know for a fact that it doesn't cost $39.95 to port a number; I worked in the telecom industry and most all carriers do not charge to port a number, considering to port a number to your system is basically bringing new business to your company. I just activated and set everything up today. The sound quality is excellent, I can tell no difference from having AT&T and I'm happy to have several features such as voice mail and call fwd that I did not have with the AT&T landline service. I also liked seeing Ooma give me an estimate of what my month charges will be (I'm not interested in international) which for me, in my state and with all applicable taxes and fees amounts to $5.11 - at least a $40 savings per month IF this is the case. So where I am right now is waiting to see how long does it take to port my number and how much money am I really going to save once the "dust settles out" on all these changes and the port charge. Based on when and what comes of this, I could possibly change my overall rating to 5 stars.
