Great picture, poor adjustability

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally had Best Buy install this projector in my basement and we were very impressed with the picture quality! The projector states that it has 15% vertical shift so our installers assumed it would be ok to mount our screen a little higher than they normally would. After everything was installed we found out that, with this projector being ceiling mount upside down, the vertical shift could only adjust the picture lower towards the floor and not higher towards the ceiling. Ultimately exchanged this projector for an Epson 4010 that had more adjustability. BUT the picture quality was great on this projector so if you don’t have to worry about mount height options as much I would still highly recommend!

Not a flexible projector

Also it's picky about HDMI signals and doesn't play nice with a PS4 PRO. (it continuously goes blank and changes the picture resolution) also the smart features are trash! The only thing this projector has going for it is the very nice picture (when it's not freaking out) and it's bright.

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The 1st projector would not generate a pairing code, the wireless connection would not easily connect, and the dongle had to be wiggled to get a wireless connection. Optoma customer service had no recommendations for the pairing code issue and said it would likely need to be exchanged. They said as a last resort they would look into the serial number and see if there were any known issues. I never heard back so I decided to exchange the unit at Best Buy. The 2nd projector arrived covered in dust and appeared refurbished. The remote control with the second unit rattled when I took it out of the box and would not power the system on. Second unit successfully generated a pair code but the dongle still needed to be tweaked to allow a wireless connection. The image was split in two and reversed when we turned it on the 2nd time and the system had to be rebooted to correct. We will attempt to call Optoma for support to see if a third exchange is needed. Each order takes 10+ days to receive a unit as they are not kept in stock locally. Super bummed and hoping to get a working system in less than a month versus paying a 15% restocking fee.

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Its hard to explain the level of performance and detail that this projector provides over a standard 120hz LCD 4k monitor... used to be for the big shows you would use the projector BUT now... its like we want to watch everything on this projector. Its high quality output matches that of a LCD.
