This Oral-B Pro 6000 Connected Toothbrush is one of the latest & greatest among the "Top-Of-The-Line" Bluetooth connected toothbrushes. I also own last year's high-end Oral-B BRAUN D36 7000 Smart Series & will contrast it during this review. LIKES: 1- Luxurious, Precision Top-Of-The-Line Feel, Perfectly Balanced Precision Tool 2- Rubber anti-slip handle is better placed than previous top-of-the-line D36 7000 Smart Series 3- Bright LED light at the handle flashes bright RED if you apply too much pressure to the brush & the pulsations stop! This protects your gums from getting sore by rubbing too hard. The red light on the 7000 Series was barely noticeable unless you saw it in the mirror. You can't miss this one! 4- Choice of alerts from "Professional" to "2 minute" timer. "Pro" is default & is my favorite: 4) 30 second pulses, rather than 1) 2-minute pulse. This suggests the left / right / upper / lower quadrant brushing time. 5- Internal battery is Li-ion. This internal battery is much lighter weight, charges faster, lasts longer & is far superior to the older Ni-Mh battery on all models within the past 3 years. Prior to that, Ni-Cd was used, which had memory issues. 6- This is the lightest handle to date, primarily due to the lighter weight battery referenced in point # 5. It feels much lighter than the 7000 Series. 7- The brush action feels more powerful than the 7000 Series, again, most likely due to the superior battery. 8- Bluetooth connection is instantaneous to your smart phone, regardless of brand. See Bluetooth Advantages at the bottom of this review. 9- The separate remote monitor that was included with the 7000 Series & older high-end Oral-B toothbrushes works with this new Pro 6000! I seldom take my iPhone into the Bathroom while brushing my teeth, so I love the little wall mounted display. I am thrilled that it automatically connects to this new toothbrush! 10- Bluetooth data can be downloaded later. About once every other week, I connect to my iPhone & download my toothbrushing detail. Just open the app & press the small button on the toothbrush. In less than 10 seconds, all data is transferred from your past 28 or so brushes! DISLIKES: 1- Styrofoam packaging (surprising & disappointing) BLUETOOTH ADVANTAGES: Focuses Motivates Senses Tracks POWER MODES: 1-Daily Clean (My favorite) 2- Pro-Clean: Faster bristle movement for that REALLY CLEAN feel! 3- Gum Care (Gentle on the gums!) 4- Whitening: Polishes by changing speeds 5- Sensitive: Lower speed for sensitive teeth The Oral-B Pro 6000 is the closest connected toothbrush I have found to date that essentially brings your own dentist into your bathroom! HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!!

An Admirable Take on The Original

Important stuff first - I am a current (pleased) owner of an Oral-B Triumph 9000, meaning everything in this review is going to be put up against it. For those that are not aware, this model is somewhere beyond eight years old, comes with a fancy dot matrix screen and four brushing modes. That said, let’s get on with the review. Out of the box, this handle has a ton of promise. The quality of Oral-B that I’ve known and loved for years, the sleek, lightweight design that I’ve never had, and more importantly, brand new. As is, I can confirm that this toothbrush has lived up to most of my expectations. What’s Great? For starters, this brush is powerful. Wicked powerful. Frankly, I don’t know if this is my old brush showing its age or if it has improved significantly, but I can confirm that my teeth feel cleaner than they did with the 9000. This brush comes with a number of modes - each has their own claimed purpose, but the one I find I’m sticking to is the Pro Clean mode. Also new in this model is the charging base. Every electric, multi-use toothbrush has some form of charging method with it, typically I’ve seen induction based ones. My last brush had an induction ring around the outside of the base. This one is slightly different - it has a prong that the brush sits on in a cupped base. I can already tell the advantage of this - no toothpaste residue taking over the outer edge of the base requiring cleaning. Bonus points are also offered for the fact that this base has a standard two prong plug - none of that wall wart nonsense. I would be amiss to not mention the amount of technology loaded into this relatively small package. Rechargeable, multi-mode, bluetooth, and pressure sensing, this thing has it all. The last feature is the one feature I have an extreme love/hate relationship with. While brushing, if you push too hard on the brush head, it will lower the intensity of pulsing and flash red at you to indicate that you could be potentially causing damage to your mouth. While I love it for what it does, it seems a bit twitchy as it can trigger when I’m just adjusting the angle that I’m holding it at. That said, given my dental history, I know that I’ve been brushing too hard for far too long, so it’s a net positive in my book. One thing that I will add for those not already in the high(er) end toothbrush market - this handle allows the user to brush based on quadrants of the mouth. By default, every 30 seconds the brush head will pulse differently to let the user know that they should switch quadrants, followed by a longer set of pulses for the end of the cycle. I think this is the best value add that comes with an electric toothbrush - you don’t need to guess if you brushed for 2 minutes - you just know. What’s not? When designing this, Oral-B seems to have said “what can we put in this to sell to the most people at once? Customizable Lights? Of course! Bluetooth? You Bet! An app that syncs everything? Duh!” I honestly don’t think that _everything_ needs to have Bluetooth in it - to include this toothbrush. In terms of value add, I don’t think anything major has been gained (ignoring the app which will appear here shortly). Honestly, this is one of the major reasons why I’ve waited so long to buy a new brush body. The only thing that is added by including Bluetooth in the package is a method to sync the brush such that it can show the time on a mobile screen. Additionally, while the light around the top of the handle is cool (I’ve got mine set to blue), I don’t think it adds a single thing. As a whole, the toothbrush is a very small light show. Pulling it off the charger has it light the entire handle up and down like a cylon. As mentioned earlier, this handle comes with five different modes. As someone who has had a model with four modes for a number of years, I can confirm that the five offered here is at least three too many (maybe even four). Typically each of these modes gets a quick use when the toothbrush comes out of the box, then only get passed over when the user hits the wrong button. The thing I miss the most on this device? A screen. My nature is extremely forgetful and very easily distracted (don’t ask how long it’s taken me to write this much of the review). On occasion, I will forget to switch between quadrants of my mouth. On the last model, I could very quickly look at the screen in the mirror and say “oh, 1:38, should be in the top left.” Not so with this model. Only way to tell now is by opening the app. Previous generations might not have had the screen in the handle, but at least they had the SmartGuide external screen to tell the same thing. This change _really_ bothers me. The App. I try to make it a point to not review apps in product reviews. Products are relatively static in terms of change, while an app can be updated several times a month should the organization desire. However, given that the app alone takes up around 30% of the cardboard surrounding the product, I’ll break my habit. In the same vein as above with regard to my general distaste of Bluetooth everything, I’m not sure this app adds anything of value to the experience that wasn’t already accomplished years ago with the SmartGuide or a simple notepad. The app by default will track your brushing habits and set a score (think Fitbit for your teeth). It also only syncs when the app is running, so it has a habit of complaining at you for not brushing your teeth at all in a period of two days. After you finish brushing, it will tell you to floss and rinse and track that metric as well. As mentioned a number of times earlier, it also tells you how long you have been brushing for this session. While you’re brushing it will show you things from your calendar, local news, and oral health guidelines. But wait! There’s more! If you attach your phone to your mirror using the smartphone holder (not included), you can use “Position Detection” - a feature which I surmise uses the phone camera to tell which area of your mouth you brushed. I’m still trying to figure out why, but as a whole the app developers must think it is great as it takes up a third of the main timer screen. The app will also let your dentist put in details about what Oral-B products you should buy, where you should focus your brushing habits, and set reminders akin to “brush, floss and rinse every day!” (Still lost on the ‘why’ part). Frankly, I’d like to remove this app from my phone, but it appears to be the only way to actually configure the thing. As is, don’t buy for the app. All in all, I’m pretty confident with a 4 out of 5 star review. On one hand, adding Bluetooth and killing off SmartGuide seems to have been a poor decision. On the other hand, it does feel like my teeth are cleaner than they were before. I think that if Oral-B offered the SmartGuide as a separate purchase and maybe lowered the price a bit, this would be a five star product in a heartbeat.

I was told by my dentist to try this brand but I decided to go with another brand but now that I have the Oral B 6000 I regret not trying this earlier for my oral care. You can feel the motion of the bristles letting you know you are brushing the hard to reach areas in your mouth. The first time I used the Oral B I was bleeding on a quadrant of my gums. It so happened to be the area that my dentist tells me to focus on. On the second day I brushed again with Oral B I had no bleeding so I think it's because I was not brushing the area in a effective way. My mouth feels so much cleaner after using this so I'm happy to continue using it until my next dental visit. What I like about the Oral B 6000: It has a great feel when holding the handle. The charging dock looks good on my vanity. The movement of the bristles. The way it keeps track of my brushing when using the app. Tells me when I'm brushing too hard. Tells me when I need to brush each area of my mouth. What I do not like about the Oral B 6000: It's a bit louder than my other electric toothbrush. I like this toothbrush by Oral B and I will continue to use it. I can't review yet on the life of this but I'm pleased to be using this because of the extra freshness I feel after using this. You get motivated when you use the app if that helps those on the fence about the app.

It's been years since I had a mechanical toothbrush. Now that I'm over 45 and becoming good friends with my dentist, I'm down with using any tool I can to better my health. The OralB Pro 6000 is nice looking, wireless, rechargeable and Bluetooth connected. It feels pretty good in the hand and the size of the brush is just right for reaching parts of my mouth I've been neglecting for years. A color changing LED can be set to your favorite color and changes to red when you apply too much pressure. Nice touches. It has a 30-use memory so you don't have to have your phone or tablet in the bathroom with you every time. When you do sync, they app tracks how long you used the toothbrush and how much of that time was using proper pressure. There's also a cool feature (a mounting accessory is needed, though you might be able to prop up your phone for the same purpose) that records your use and tracks your "coverage". I see how that would have some surprising results. I'm pretty sure I spend too much time on the front teach and not enough on the back. My only gripe? It's rather loud. Otherwise, it's a well done device that has improved my brushing.

I have been using the Oral-B Pro 6000 toothbrush for a little more than two weeks and although I haven't used every feature it offers, I like what I have seen so far. Before using the toothbrush for the first time, I fully charged it and then disconnected it from power to test the battery. It easily went past 9 days with me brushing twice a day, and there was still one bar left out of three on the battery, so traveling without the charger shouldn't be a problem, if you're only going for a week. The travel case that comes with the unit is also sturdy and has places for two brush heads, which is nice in case you're not traveling alone. The downloadable app appears well thought out, and seems to be stable, although there are a few things it needs access to that I don't really understand; GPS location for one. Connecting the app to the toothbrush via Bluetooth is a snap. The app tracks all of your brushing habits, which I guess if you're the kind of person who forgets to brush is helpful. For me, all of that isn't really needed... it's nice to see it, but I know I'm not going to skip a day of brushing/flossing... for kids, it would probably be a huge tool to get them to brush. The app does have a visual quadrant based timer that syncs with the brush when you start brushing, and pauses if you pause brushing. I find the timer feature of the app the most useful since it's a visual way to track the 30 secs you spend on each quadrant of your mouth. As far as cleaning my teeth, this toothbrush is great. It's much better than a manual toothbrush, and quite a bit different from my other electric toothbrush. I keep the toothbrush in ProClean mode, but there are four other modes that vary the speed/pulse of the brush head. The biggest plus for me is the shape of the brush head; since the head is round, it's easy to focus on each individual tooth. One feature that some might find helpful is the 'pressure alert' that flashes a red light around the top ring of the unit if you're applying too much pressure. I never had this happen during my normal brushing, but I did test it, and it does work. Overall, I am very pleased with this toothbrush, and as I continue to use it, I'm sure some of some of the features I've glossed over here might actually be useful to me as well.

The Oral B Pro 6000 is actually the first electric toothbrush that I have used, performing quite efficiently so far. With Bluetooth connectivity, it hopes to provide some motivation in keeping a set regiment, while tracking your progress on your phone. While optional, the Bluetooth functionality added bit of a learning curve, but nothing too difficult. Upon opening, you will note several included accessories including the charging dock that also has a small compartment for the brushing heads. It also included a carrying case for the main unit for when it is not charging; it also has two small pre-drilled parts to hold your phone up. However, my phone was extremely uneven and its tilting made me nervous. There is actually an accessory to clamp your phone to the mirror but this was not included. Lastly, it included one brush head, albeit a bit small. I was a bit disappointed as I think they should have at least included one of the long head brushes, but they are cheap enough and I bought some generic ones that work really well. There are about 6 other heads you can buy separately that focus on specialized areas of cleaning. The brush included seems to be for focus areas that needed more attention as opposed to more of a daily brush. The Bluetooth pairing, however, is a bit of an issue. It took several attempted to try and pair it and the Oral B app does not have an easy way of pairing it once you are outside the initial wizard that runs when you first open it. After several attempts on two different phones, the best way to get the toothbrush connected is install the application, make sure that BOTH Bluetooth and location services are on, then proceed to open the application. When it asks you if yours is Bluetooth compatible, click yes and turn the toothbrush on. You should hopefully see the blue light flash and it says connecting on your screen. It should then bring up several tips on how to use it. You should see it flash blue twice. As for the application, there will be some learning curves. The layout is decent and you will need to fiddle with it. In addition to the blue flashes, I wish the application would show a connection status that remained on just to confirm it was linked. I could not find anything within the application that showed this. Luckily though, you can change the color of the light ring so I suppose this compensates for the above. Switching the colors is also quite addictive. Another feature on the application is the ability to track activity and your average brushing time. Also, you will also see achievements that you can unlock as motivational rewards. Lastly, I would like to note that it recommends to brush your teeth for at least 2 minutes; one helpful tip is to turn on "display manual start button" so you can pause and resume it on your own. I found this at the bottom of the timer settings, after tapping the second gear symbol from the main timer screen. Overall, the Bluetooth setup was a bit tedious, but once it is working it does provide some nice features. Performance of the Oral B 6000 makes up for the slight Bluetooth shortcomings, although for first time users of electric toothbrushes, there will be some adjustment and patience needed. After my first use with the included brush, it did not feel like I brushed all the way through. There was also a tendency to brush hard at which the smart ring lit up red. Afterwards, I went out and bought a generic long head brush and this performed a lot better, feeling closer to the manual brushing I was used to. I highly recommend the other brushes though before making an opinion. After three complete brushing sessions, I have noticed an improvement in the areas that I focused on. I am genuinely quite satisfied. One thing I also liked was the several different modes depending on your needs. For my tests, I used the daily clean (tooth icon). The pressure was perfect for when I switched back to the included brush on some of the smaller focus areas, in addition to when I used the long brush. Overall, I would recommend the Oral B Pro 6000 for anyone who is interested in buying a toothbrush, though despite some Bluetooth issues, it still performs like it was designed to. At its price, I recommend that if you do not see yourself using the Bluetooth feature to seek out some cheaper alternatives. For first time users of electric toothbrushes (like myself), I would still say it is worth trying, though keep in mind it will take a bit to get used to. Also, be sure to grab maybe one or two different brushes, including the long one as that felt closer to manual brushing. Overall, it definitely enhances your smile.

This product is perfect for when dentist recommends spin toothbrush. My wife’s gum was pulling away from her teeth which made them very sensitive. Her dentist recommended a spin brush instead of manual or non spinbrush. The reason why is that the back and forth movement of the other brushes were peeling way her gum from the teeth. The Oral B Pro 6000 is the perfect recommended toothbrush for dental issues. Before this brush, my family were using battery operated brushes and gave okay results. Now we have a new tool for oral care. The quality and appearance is very nice and the features of portability pouch make it very convenient for home and travel use. The best feature is having the option to have different spin mode setting; Daily Clean, Sensitive, Gum care, Whitening, and Pro-Clean. For the above issue of my wife's teeth, it is awesome that the setting can be changed for different teeth sensitivity. My wife’s front teeth are more sensitive, this brush allows the adjustment as necessary. She is amazed about the how good this brush cleans her teeth. She loves her new toothbrush. This sums up my review: Happy Wife = Happy Life.

I was using a Sonic toothbrush for the longest time, but when it died I wanted to try something new. I've been quite pleased with the powered spin brush, I felt like it has been cleaning my teeth better. The Oral B Pro 6000 is a great toothbrush with a long battery life and strong cleaning power. I do like that they included a sensitive teeth mode where it isn't as strong. I can see that being beneficial to many people. There is a whole APP aspect that tells you how you are doing. Tells you where you have been brushing or brushing too hard. It can be quite handy if you are interested in that information, but it is completely optional. It also has a memory of the last 30 days of when you used your toothbrush so you don't need to sync every time which is great. Overall, this is a powerful toothbrush that allows you get some more insight into your tooth brushing habits.

Ok to be fair I'm comparing the OralB 6000 to the Sonicare HealthyWhite+, which is slight less expensive, but I've been using Sonicare TB's for years. At first the novelty of a BT toothbrush was intriguing. But before installing the app I decided to see how I liked the TB alone. My first impression was that it is much more noisy than my sonicare, which just vibrates,vs the spinning action of the Oral B. I'm accustomed to my sonicare changing it's buzz every 30s to tell me to move to a different quadrant; the Oral B both blinks and buzzes to notify me, but when initially used it seems to continue for ever (not telling me to stop)....but I can count to 4 so I knew I was done. The app instructions indicate that I'm going to look at the app while I'm brushing and that I can stand my phone in the included tooth brushes case to hold it up. I could find no way to do this comfortably. The app does track how long you've brushed, but trying to use while brushing .... not happening, just caused me to make a mess as the moving brush left my mouth. I do think brush does a good job cleaning, probably about the same as my Sonicare, but the Braun is noisier and messier, I can't say I find the app particularly useful, maybe if it sent glowing results to my dentist, and I was then praised for my brushing.... But even thought I'm a gadget guy the combination did not work for me ...keep trying.

So I purchased this electric toothbrush because 1) I was instructed by my dentist to invest in one after seeing how bad my teeth 2) I was recommended to purchase this specific one by my friend/dental hygienist. Pros: -It's electric. No need to manually brush your teeth and tire your arm/hand. -To add to the previous bullet, with a regular brush, you tend to brush too hard and possibly damaging your teeth/gums. This has a feature that lights up red when you press against your teeth too hard (all this is according to my dental hygienist). -Battery life is great. While I haven't tested to find the exact battery life, I haven't had to plug it in for about a week. -There's an app for this and it shows you how often you should brush each section of your teeth- there's a timer that peeps every 30 seconds so you can move to the next section and there's something with the Bluetooth connection that allows you to see on the app where you've brushed real-time. -Different modes, I liked they had one for sensitive teeth AND for brushing your tongue. Cons -It only came with one brush head. Yeah I know, I can be picky at times. I thought it would have 2. -This model does not have a suction cup for your phone to be held in. The new model does have it, and finding one is such a pain as it's never available, either through Amazon or Oral-B. Just buy a regular suction holder and put it on the mirror so you won't have to hold your phone and brush with the other hand. Overall, great purchase. Yes it's a lot more expensive than a regular toothbrush, but it's a great investment. If you can afford the newer model with the suction holder for your phone, get that one. If not, this one is just as good.

It's a good brush, but reading the difference between models was very confusing to me. This model does have BT capability but I don't find that very useful at this point. The battery power is very good and the travel case is nice. It only comes with ONE brush head and I could have sworn it's description said more, but it is one.

Very easy to use, with a very clean feeling after every brush. Lots of different brushes that can be used with the base unit, and brings carrying case which is great for travel. Battery lasts long too. I liked it so much I bought one for my dad for Father's day.

My old oralb which I used over 10 yrs was dying (battery) so I thought it was time to get a new one. I didn’t think it was worth spending top dollar for top of the line model so I got this one. I have been using the new toothbrush about a month now and it did not disappoint. Very happy with my purchase. - fullly charged battery lasted over a month (only charged once thus far) - strong rotation of brush head leaving satisfying cleaning - light at the top provides decent light if you have to brush in dark or low light - the light turns red if you press too hard against your teeth. Great idea. - small charger is easy to carry and store. - price point and value of this toothbrush is tough to beat against other brands.

Little on the pricey side but if it gets your brushing habits up to par it's worth every penny, thought it came with 2 brush heads but mine only had 1. Gets your teeth clean and my dentist was happy.

Multiple settings, Bluetooth into your phone, holds a lengthy charge. My teeth feel extra clean. Much better than a cheap 15$ tooth brush, got mine on sale.
