This was a pretty fun game overall. Good music, good scenery, good story. It was surprisingly difficult at times playing on the second hardest setting and I am not sure if I can complete the one-life mode but there are easier settings if you like to relax more.
The only negative I can say is trying to get the achievement to explore 100% of the areas. A lot of them are stuck around 95%+ and I have no idea where to go to get the last amount.

Ori and the Blind Forest is the most beautiful game that I've ever played. The visuals an the soundtrack are the best thing that I've ever seen in a video game. The story and characters are simple but are so well written with the music and visuals that the game is going to make you care about these characters to the point to where you will be crying throughout the cut scenes. The story teaches the viewer on how to have a good heart and that you should show kindness to others in ways that will change your perspective on how you view the world. The game is that well executed in its making. However, this stunning masterpiece unfortunately doesn't come with out its flaws. The gameplay is so frustratingly hard and unfun at some points that it will make you swear a lot and throw down your controller. The save points are also really confusing at first that the game made me start over at other hard parts all over again. For the most part the gameplay is actually really fun, especially when you achieve cool special abilities that you can use through out the game. The game all in all is truly a breathtaking masterpiece in every way possible. I really wish I could give this game a 10/10 but some parts were just way too hard and over cumbersome, that, I feel like should not have been in the game. Everything that is right with this game makes up for those unfun parts

I haven't played a side scroller type game since I was a kid and I found Ori very appealing due to the art style. The story is a simple heartwarming adventure that brought my inner child out. The gameplay is what makes this game so addicting. I was so amazed by the challenges I had to face it opened a whole new world of possibilities for me. Needless to say I will buy the next game this company makes.

From the precise platforming to the wonderful artstyle, the beautiful music and heart wrenching story, this is simply a game you should not miss. Thankfully they were wise enough to release a disc otherwise I would have. The difficulty curve is high in some sections, but definitely achievable. Easily one of the very few games worth owning an X1 for.

Ori and the Blind Forest is an incredible game. The story, graphics and gameplay are all top notch. There is a ton of content, and it's game where can actually develop some serious skills while playing it - very difficult, but fair. It's an absolute treat. Pick it up!

Beautiful colors, engaging story line, seems simple in nature because of the animated aspect and at times 2D views but the game is far from child's play. Great masterpiece and difficult to pull-off.

This game is a beautiful masterpiece. Platforming at its best. I may be a bit biased because I love the metroidvania genre, and Super Metroid is my favorite game ever. But this game is truly that good! The atmosphere, the art, the score, everything is woven together beautifully. You won't get a better game at this price. Tight controls, fun platforming gameplay. I can't recommend it enough. I waited years hoping it would get a physical release, and it's finally here! Buy it!

I don't know what to say. This game is perfect. The visuals are breathtaking. The story is emotional and deep. The gameplay is smooth but familiar. You will no trouble just playing it if you know sidescrollers. I can't recommend the game enough. This is a game that is on par with Dust: Elysian Tale. This is how games should be made. With so much care and devotion, I hope we see more like this in the future.

I picked this up on a chance and was delighted! This game is a ton of fun. The graphics and sound are absolutely amazing. It comes with a music CD bonus, and it makes great background music. This game has won a number of awards and it is easy to see why. If you enjoyed the SNES Super Metroid, this game is for you. Easy controls, but great gameplay makes this a winner. Best game I have played all year.

Despite my skepticism at first, this game exceeded my expectations in many ways. The music is definitely good at depicting the cut-scenes and the different worlds. The graphics are visually pleasing, and the gameplay is smooth. I'm usually very careful when I buy games since I like to keep them for a long time. This one definitely has a lot of replay value, and I'm very happy with my purchase.

I loved playing this game. The hidden items, the changing landscape as you unlocked different parts of the world, the sound track, really everything about it was just awesome. The story was really moving too. You are not simply defeating an evil doer, you are on an adventure and the end of that adventure was just as moving as the beginning. Amazing game!

Ori is a true gem of the XBOXOne library that every owner of the system needs to play. And now this is a physical copy of the game that comes with a full soundtrack and a digital copy as well. This is a no brainer for $20. Which would be $15 after the Best Buy Gamer's Club unlocked bonus.
Go get it.

Nice, friendly, challenging clean game for all.
This is a game I let my kids play without having to worry about graphic content etc. It is a platform game, lots of jumping, dashing and reaching. It is challenging enough for my teen and my 8 year old. We all enjoy it.

2D platformers on todays console seem to be a dying breed, so I was excited to try Ori and the Blind Forest after seeing all the stellar reviews. The game is beautifully designed and the animations are fantastic. Aside from the narrator (the Spirit Tree), there is no dialogue from the characters or enemies. That said, you will get emotionally invested in the small cast of characters and there are even a few tear jerking scenes throughout.
With all that out of the way.... the game is HARD. The developers clearly had retro 2D games in mind when they made this. You won't get automatic checkpoints or a lot of hand-holding. You can create you own save points (thankfully) but you're penalized in doing so as they take up your spirit meter (which you need for other things). Even then, there are long, difficult sequences where you can only save at the beginning of it and end. You will get frustrated doing those sections over and over. But on the bright side it's very rewarding to complete.
This game comes with the original version and the updated definitive version. If you're new to Ori or not great at challenging platformers, I'd recommend playing the definitive version first as there were some changes made to make the game slightly easier.
In the end, I really enjoyed this game and I recommend it to everyone; not just older gamers who miss challenging 2D platformers.

This game is a love letter to classic Metroid style gameplay. It has fantastic controls, beautiful visuals and music and plays like a dream. If you're a fan of the platforming genre pick this up. Come for the gameplay, stay for the artwork.

We have only just begun to play this game. However, the visuals are amazing and the soundtrack is incredible. Additionally, it also comes with a CD of the soundtrack. So, clearly that is an important part of the game.
