I absolutely love the Oster power blender. I've used it to crush ice, make pureed apple sauce, hemp cream for coffee, oat milk, banana milk. It is both powerful and sturdy.
The heavy glass and multiple blender settings are great.

Capable Blender with Simple Controls

The Oster Pulverizing Power Blender is a glass jar blender with 8 speeds and an all metal drive motor. This is not my first Oster Blender – I actually have another that has been in use for the better part of a decade. This Oster blender varies a decent amount from my old one, so its worth taking a look at.
Features
The Oster blender comes with an 800W motor and a 6 cup (48 oz) Boroclass glass pitcher. The 800W motor is decently powerful and an upgrade over my other Oster blender (600W). The motor is powerful enough to turn ice cubes to snow, and smoothly blend frozen drinks. The base is a gray plastic that mimics the look of metal. The base control panel features simple push buttons that control the blender. There are no pre-programmed blend settings like a lot of blenders. The control scheme is very basic, which can be a pro and a con. I do use blending presets on my Phillips Avance blender and on my other Oster. These routines are nice to have in certain situations (smoothies being the big one). However, a basic control scheme makes it very easy to use and adjust speeds. The product listing says it is an 8 speed blender, but I only count 7 (stir, mix, chop, blend, puree, liquify, and pulse) – maybe it’s counting off as a speed?
One of the nicest features of this blender is the glass jar. It’s the reason I have kept my other Oster blender around after I got my top of the line Phillips Avance blender – it did things the expensive Avance couldn’t. The glass jar has a major advantage over the majority of blenders that use a plastic jar – blending hot liquids. I like to make a couple different soups and sauces that require a thorough blending after they are cooked – more so than what I can do with my immersion hand blender. The glass jar is made of borosilicate glass which is the same material used in Pyrex cookware. It is resistant to temperature shocks that would crack/break regular glass containers. The glass jar has an easy to pour lip and comfortable handle making it very easy to use. Its also a fully dishwasher safe system. I put the glass and metal pieces in the bottom rack and all plastic and rubber goes in the top rack.
Performance
I blend fairly often. I make protein shakes a lot of days, but I also make a lot of fruit smoothies and the occasional blended sauce. The protein shake used to be blended in my old Oster before I got the Avance, which did a much better job smoothing and blending the oatmeal I use in my drink (. I was willing to try my shakes in this new Oster to see if there was any improvement. For the most part it was pretty similar – it didn’t fully blend the dried oatmeal flakes into the drink as much as I would like. It did better than my old Oster, and I can tell that the extra 200W helps in this case. I would certainly consider it acceptable though and did a good job for being a fairly inexpensive blender.
As far as crushing ice goes – this blender did great. It turned my ice cubes into snow in no time. For smoothies and frozen margaritas this is a necessary capability. The extra bit of power came in handy here as well, so I am glad to see the little upgrade over my old Oster.
Blending hot liquids – sauces, soups, salsa (for jarring) was great with this blender. Its why I have kept my old blender around even after getting a significantly more powerful blender in my kitchen. Blending hot liquids and soups is an oft used cooking step in my kitchen. To test it I made my yellow curry chicken soup that has rice in the liquid. The soup has to be blended before I add the chicken, and the rice in the liquid acts as a way to thicken the soup up. I blend the steaming hot rice/curry base combo up to make a thicker base for my soup. Compared to my old blender the smoothness I achieved was a better – sometimes the base can be left a little lumpy/chunky because the rice wouldn’t fully blend up. This time it was liquified and I didn’t notice any partial rice grains in my soup. The extra power of the motor allowed me to blend my soup in short order and get it back on the stove to add the chicken.
Things to Note
My old Oster is built with similar drive ‘guts’ and it has been running like a champ for almost 10 years. I expect this Oster to run for a long time as well. I have zero concerns with reliability here.
The only thing that can break on this blender is the jar. However, if you do break it Oster sells replacement jars through a lot of different retailers. They are pretty good about being a near universal fit across a lot of different blender bases.
The cap in the lid is not easy to remove. My old Oster had a design that made it easy to grip and turn out of the lid. Removing this cap is a necessary step when blending hot foods because you have to let it vent. The cap on this blender has a narrow edge and no real gripping surface. I can see this being needlessly difficult for a lot of folks to remove.
Blenders are never quiet. They are always loud, but some more so than others. My old Oster was very loud – even louder than the Avance which has 3X the power. I was happy to see (in this case hear) that this new Oster blender comes in a little quieter than the old one. Even with 200W more power it ran a little smoother (less vibration in the countertop) and overall a bit less motor noise was evident.
Overall
The Oster Pulverizing Power Blender did a nice job for me. It is affordably priced without being cheaply spec’d. The controls are super simple and basic, which can be very appealing for those that don’t want an overcomplicated appliance. I think it will serve as a nice upgrade to the stalwart Oster blender I have been using for almost a decade now. The only criticism I have is over the removable cap in the lid – it is difficult to grip and unscrew.

Powerful, inexpensive, reliable Oster blender

The grand old Oster brand has an inexpensive wpowerhouse that promises to “easily crush ice, has eight speeds, including Stir, Mix, Chop, Blend, Liquify, Puree, and Pulse. It should easily pulverize and chop a wide variety of ingredients for all [my] kitchen needs,” according to the manufacturer.
Preserving another tradition, it comes with a six-cup Boroclass jar that is durable, thermal shock-resistant, shatter-resistant and dishwasher safe. This jar design and capacity is what I recall from the earliest days of Oster home use blenders.
Its Crush Pro 4 stainless steel blade is mated to an all-metal drive connection that should be durable over many years.
The cap design includes a two-ounce filler cap with built-in markings for easy measuring and pouring of ingredients.
It’s lightweight, owing to everything plastic that could be plastic. Though it seems at first to be cheaply made, it is not. Don’t let the lightweight plastic cloud your assessment. It is lightweight only where this is not a factor in its operation. Actually, it being a lightweight is a benefit. It’s not heavy, so it is easy to move about for anyone at any age.
Oster’s confidence in this product is backed with their three-year satisfaction guarantee.
Seems simple enough.
**WHAT’S IN THE BOX**
• Blender base with 800 Watts of power
• Six-cup (1.4 L) glass blender jar, blender lid, sealing ring, threaded bottom cap
• Documentation
**THE SETUP**
Wash the jar, dry the jar, assemble jar parts, plug it in after looking over the simple manual. And let’s get started!
**PUT TO THE TEST**
• The ice crush test. Passed with flying colors, an indication of its ability to make smoothies and delicious mixed adult beverages.
• Make a smoothie – frozen fruits, ½ medium avocado, two scoops of collagen powder with 20 grams of protein, ¾ cup of cold almond milk. And we’re off, using the Blend setting and adding liquid first as per the manual instructions. Will it need human intervention? I am accustomed to blenders with 64-ounce jars. This has a 48-ounce jar. The difference is that there is less room for air above the ingredients and the result is less finished product by two cups. In other words, this is not exactly party or family size. On the other hand, this baby is inexpensive, so let’s slow the roll a bit and not expect performance indicative of a $200-400 blender.
The Oster did a fine job with my smoothie. As usual, I needed to add liquid to the frozen ingredients because it was just too thick. No big deal at all. The blade design that is similar to other quality and well-designed blenders pulled the ingredients to the bottom of the jar for thorough blending in its pulverizing vortex action.
We just had to make a batch of Margaritas! We always crush ice for the recipe. We like our Margaritas just short of slushy. Aaaahhhhhh. Perfect, just perfect! After four batches, we were very happy with the results. Can you imagine? Yes, very happy. This blender passed the Margarita test with ease. I am sure we will enjoy many more Margarita tests in the coming weeks.
Inspiration for other recipes comes from the Web. Just search with the first word, “blender” in your search term.
Cleanup is easy as can be, using the tried and true method used for years with all our blenders, and recommended by most. Most manufacturers will specify how much water to use after rinsing. Some call for filling to less than half. Some, like this one, recommend filling with three cups of warm water. Add one to two drops of liquid dishwashing detergent (I use the good stuff), then put the lid on securely. On this Oster it is recommended to select Mix speed and then to run the blender for 30 seconds, then Off. Empty the soapy water into the sink and rinse with clean water. How easy is that!
When finished, disassemble the jar parts, rinse and inspect for anything the simple cleaning procedure may have missed. Doubtful there will be anything to re-wash. Now it’s reset and ready again for duty.
**CONCLUSION**
Consumers can buy this excellent six-cup Oster Pulverizing Power Blender with High-Speed Motor, model BLSTPEG-G80-000 for a song. It is made with a high quality motor, a heavy duty, high-qualty glass jar, an all metal motor spindle and a Crush Pro 4 stainless steel blade assembly. It does not feel or behave like an inexpensive blender. This is a combination that just works.

This blender reminds me a lot of the old blenders from long ago. The blenders that just have a row of simple buttons for the different speeds and that's it. Nothing crazy or fancy. It's job is to blend and that's it. There's no need to really even look for a manual. One look at it and just about anyone can figure out how to work it.
It's budget friendly, but still comes with an all glass jar, which is so much nicer to have than the plastic ones.
I've mostly been using this to make smoothies and it handles that job just fine. I do tend to have to keep blending for longer than I'm used to with other blenders though. And no matter how long I keep it going for, there's always small bits that don't get mixed. There's just only so much the set of small blades at the bottom of the jar can do.
It'll handle crushing ice too, and even comes with a couple tips in the box, but doing so shows this blender's limits. Even in the tips it says to only put up to 6 large cubes. And if that's all you put in it'll pulverize them into a fine snow that would be perfect for a snow cone. But 6 cubes isn't enough to actually make a snow cone. And if you try to put a bunch more cubes in, it'll crush what's at the bottom and that's about it, which would explain the tip for only adding up to 6 at a time.
Overall, it's a good budget blender that does what its supposed to do and nothing more. It's not going to blend everything perfectly, but it'll get the job done. It's biggest asset though really is its simplicity and ease of use. If you're someone who doesn't care for a lot of bells and whistles, and just wants to have something that'll blend without having to be a rocket scientist to use, then this blender is for you.

A Blender That Sure Does Pulverize

I was in a bind and needed an extra blender because I didn't want to balance cleaning one for a little gathering. It serves its purpose and more with only 3 main pieces (7 total if you count the lids, etc.). So if you're looking for a blender that is plug and play this is it.
I'd for sure give it as a gift as well for a house warming or something for a holiday party. It's light weight, the reservoir is glass which I prefer over hard plastic which can sometimes really show how poorly it ages. The glass is easy to clean and so are the pieces.
For me the only downside was how noisy it tends to get and how loud the motor was. Blenders are not made to be quiet but this one sure does hum pretty loudly.
My favorite recipe is a smoothie with peanut butter, frozen blueberries, banana, dates, apple juice, and protein powder. I freeze the fruit to avoid watering it down with ice cubes and it blended everything well.
A great option for your main blender or as a gift!

This is not a very fancy blender, with LED's etc, and it certainly not a Smart Blender. What is it is a well made, powerful 6 speed (+pulse) blender. The exterior is all plastic. Oster has put the money into the two most important components, the real glass (6 cup) Jar and an all metal motor. I had another blender that had a hard plastic jar (polycarbonate), I made the mistake of blending chillies in it to make a mexican sauce. It still smells like chilis. The moral of the story, get a glass jar with your blender (period). Glass is easy to clean and won't absorb colors/smells. I now consider it essential in a decent blender. The motor is just as important. All metal will last a long time, motors that are partially plastic, or have plastic gears inevitably fail. This Oster gets the job done. I crushed some ice to put in a summer beverage, and it did an excellent job of creating a pretty even ice size (using chop). Using liquify, I created snow (not what I wanted, but it happened quickly). The blender moved the mixture through out the jug (as it should have).
I also made thick milk shake (using blend) that came out perfectly smooth, no lumps, completely mixed (just like it should have). All told it did a great job. My only complaint is that the lid is pretty light, it fits tightly, but if I were to fill past 5 cups, I'd be concerned it might come off. Also the fill plug on the top of the blender lid is plastic, with no markings in it. Previous blenders that I've had had 'oz' or 'mm' markings on the plug. Not a big deal, but I have used the plug to measure with in the past.
What you have here is solid well made blender that should last, It's not going to win any beauty contests, but it's normally stored in a cabinet. It will do what it should, blend well!

This is pretty much a classic blender, 6 speeds and a pulse, glass jar and all plastic body that has a stainless steel type look. Simple to use and simple to clean. However, the shape of the jar allows for frozen items to clump above the blades, not getting a consistent blend. A custom plunger would make it more effective, but some tapping gets it in place. I also find it funny that the picture on their package does not follow directions on the box, with ice on the bottom instead of the top. Overall, it is a fair blender. The glass jar feels sturdier than other plastic ones while the body feels lighter with just the weight being the motor.

Strong, Simple and Easy to Clean

When it comes to blenders it is hard to beat the value this Oster Pulverizing power blender provides. Oster keeps it simple to use and easy to clean. The 6 cup glass pitcher is thick and solid – no cheap plastic container here. At the base of the pitcher the stainless steel blade assembly is screwed on via a plastic sleeve. If you have owned an Oster blender in the past you will feel right at home with this model. I really like the design because after I use the blender I can unscrew the base and easily clean out the pitcher and the stainless steel blade assembly. I have owned other blenders where the pitcher base was not removable and it was much more difficult to clean. The blender has Stir, Mix, Chop, Blend, Puree, Liquify and Pulse buttons to give you a wide selection of speeds when it comes to blending ingredients. After several uses I have found that this blender does a great job of crushing ice especially for frozen drinks. The motor sound is typical of what I would expect from a blender, it definitely gets louder as the speeds go up. The overall look is simple and non-distinct. The base is curved with smooth lines which is easy to clean if you happen to spill anything on it.
The only negative with this blender is that the pitcher does not lock onto the base in any manner. It sits on the base and there are some built in stops that keep the pitcher from rotating during use. I haven’t had any problem so far but I find myself holding the pitcher when I blend things just to make sure its stable.

The Oster® Pulverizing Power Blender with High Speed Motor is in essence a non-descript blender. That said it has several attributes worth noting so that it would affect your purchase decision of a traditional blender. First it has a glass carafe which is a plus for me as not only it gives heft to the product but is also better for flavors eliminating any plastic odors or taste. It also has a metal drive that gives you the assurance it won’t break down so easily to come. A downside though is the blender housing itself is made of plastic and comes in gray somewhat giving it a sense of not being premium since I am used to chrome and black blender housings. That said, it compensates that it does not vibrate much in spite of its 800-watt motor and the suction small as they have good traction. Add to that the heft of the carafe, you can be quite comfortable that the product is stable even though you are not holding it when in use. Of course, it is still prudent to hold the product when in use just in case. There are eight settings namely Stir, Mix, Chop, Blend, Liquify, Puree, Liquify and Pulse though over the years I have only used the equivalent of low, medium, high and pulse. There is not much to look for a blender at this price range. But one thing I can say is that it is still a solid blender in spite of its casing. I’d still recommend this to others.

I've had my Oster Pulverizing Power Blender for about a year now, and I use it almost every day. I love it! It's powerful enough to blend anything I throw at it, including frozen fruits and vegetables, nuts, and seeds. I use it to make smoothies, soups, sauces, and even nut butters. It's also very easy to clean. The blades are removable, so I can just pop them in the dishwasher.
Overall, I'm extremely happy with my Oster Pulverizing Power Blender. It's a great value for the price, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful and versatile blender.

We were looking to buy a cost-effective blender from Oster due to the quality products they make and were pleased with the results of Oster products. We got Oster Pulverizing Power Blender with High-Speed Motor. This blender came with a premium metallic finish with a powerful 800-watt motor. It takes few seconds to crush ice cubes.
The 6-cup Boroclass jar has thermal shock and shatter-resistant features. It is dishwasher safe and very easy to clean up after use. This blender is built with Crush Pro 4 stainless steel blade inside and with 8 speeds including stir, mix, chop, blend, liquify, puree, and pulse to easily pulverize and chop a wide range of ingredients. The 2-ounce filer cap has built-in markings and it is very convenient for measuring and pouring ingredients.
The modern finish perfectly complements our kitchen stainless steel appliances. The blender is very quiet during operation. It is rare to see a blender product with a 3-year manufacturer warranty. We have been using this blender very frequently. It is definitely a great addition to our kitchen. It is another quality product from Oster.

This is a very good blender. It grinds up the contents better than expected. This only downfall with this blender is that it is quite noisy. Getting up early in the morning to start my day I’m hesitant to operate it because of waking up everyone in the household, otherwise, fantastic. I would purchase this blender.

I had a really great blender for about 2 years before it started smoking. This was inexpensive but it does the job. I can’t really get a smooth smoothie. It leaves a lot of fruit pieces, but I won’t feel bad if I have to throw it out after 2 years.
