I bought this case for my husband for Christmas. His old case was cracked and sad looking and he has a habit of dropping his phone on the ground. I no longer have to worry about his phone breaking with this new case - I am fairly certain that it is indestructible! Part of the case is a screen protector so he also no longer has to worry about smudges, dirt, etc. Even through the screen protector, his phone is extremely responsive - it's almost like it's not there. The reason I only give it 4 out of 5 stars is that it can be a pain to take the phone out of the case and the first time we tried to open the case to put his phone in it, we literally had to google how to open it. Otherwise, this case is extremely sturdy and I think it is great!

I compared both the life proof case and this otterbox case before making the purchase and this case provides more protection than the lifeproof with all things considered ( except that it's not waterproof). In addition, this case works with both the iPhone 5 and 5s except the fingerprint scanner doesn't work when using the 5s but that's ok with me. I would rather protect the home screen button anyways. I would definitely recommend this case!!

I'm pretty clumsy with phones. I needed a case that protected the body as well as the screen. This case does the job. Unfortunately, the finger print passcode can't be used with this particular case.

Can't beat an otter box defender case for this price. My last iPhone and it's otter box flew off the roof of my car at 55 mph! By the time I noticed my phone wasn't in the car w me I remembered leaving it on the roof of my car. At that exact moment I happened to look to the side mirror and watched as my phone tumbled and flipped and slammed all over the road and into someone's driveway! Bummer, I know, but when I turned around to go get it, the phone wasn't even damaged! That otter box defender kept my phone safe at 55 mph crashing all across the road. I doubt u can find a more indestructible case.

Great case great priceI absolutely love this OtterBox case and protects the phone so well and is definitely worth the price you pay for it best protection for your iPhone hands down. I highly Mccommon this product to anyone who wants to protect their phone. It is a little bulky but it is cheaper than spending $650 on a new phone. This product also comes with an OtterBox clip that you can put on your belt or on your pants

Great case for sure, stylish and does an excellent job of protecting from drops. Only downfall is there is a piece of rubber that covers the fingerprint reader. Beside that very nice!

I always buy the otter box defender series for my iPhone and iPads. Always work well and never had an issue or cracked screen. Love the built in screen protector

I like the otter box Iphone cases. Was happy when I found this one on sale and I love the night sky color. It fit my IPhone 5 perfect no complaints.

PROTECTION - Protection wise, the iPhone 5 Defender is at par with the 3GS. Industrial grade protection with complete coverage. Same concept and overall design, though the silicone feels slightly thicker and more solid in the 5. The silicone has a matte finish compared to the smooth finish in the 3GS, which hopefully should help avoid dust and lint - this was the only drawback with the 3GS case, it needed cleaning frequently.

My 10 year old son got a hand me down iPhone fior his birthday this summer. Phone looked brand new at summers end, despite many close calls. Great protection. A little bulky but perfect for younger iPhone user.

This is great, with its thicker lip protecting the screen. Very durable. My only concerns are that it makes the phone overall a bit thicker, and it is more difficult to swipe the settings screen up.

I've been using Otterbox Defenders for years and am very happy with the amount of protection they offer (plus, screen protection without having to fiddle with a screen protector--yay!). I've never had a cracked screen or broken phone yet. However, the holster is poorly made (one has never lasted more than about 6 months) and Otterbox service has gone down hill. They used to have a lifetime warranty and replace broken holsters at no cost. Now, it's a 1 year and you pay a $3 fee just to have them consider your claim. I understand why they made the change, but if I were paying full retail, I'd expect better. These are still great cases if you can find them discounted or don't need the holster.

Very good all around protection to my iPhone 5S. Would be happy if it had finger sensor support. Anyway serves the purpose of protection.

I've seen a lot the OtterBox Cases for iPhone and knew I needed something to protect my investment. I'm an accident just waiting to happen, so the case has already saved me more than once. It's sturdy, but easy to remove (once you get the hang of it). The only drawback is I can't use the fingerprint id and one of my Apple chargers requires me to remove the phone from the case, completely. Other than that, it's a hit!

This case is the best way to protect your phone. Mine is 5 years old and because of it looks brand new.

I love my new Otter Defender Realtree case. I had an Otter Defender before but it started getting "warped" and didn't stayed closed on the bottom when I wasn't charging it. Because I have grandchildren, I need a sturdy phone cover to prevent breakage of my iphone. I can't tell you how many times they've grabbed it even though I try to keep it out of their reach. This Realtree Otter Defender case is sturdier than the one I had before.

I did a lot of shopping online for this case (for my Iphone 5) and found that Otterbox line of cases had an exceptional reputation, but were also a bit pricey. I found this particular example at BestBuy.com and snatched it up right away because of the exceptional price. It fits my phone perfectly and gives me a feeling of security. It also feels great in my hand. I'd recommend this case to anyone!
