This case is another example of why I do business with Otter box. Their quality in craftsmanship and customer care is paramount.

Solid Case with a annoying design flaw that causes the rubber charge port protector to break within weeks of use. Causing lint and tons of other tiny debris to get in the port. The rubber flap is way to thin my previous commuter case doesn't have this issue because the flap is way thicker and is not glued on to the hard shell of the case like it is on the Defender Pro XT. However just called Otterbox they were very kind and understanding and are sending me a brand new case free of charge.

I was looking for a replacement case for my 12 pro max and this is even better than the one I had before. I like how the charging port is covered when not charging to keep dust and debris out. Very good quality case. I especially like the ability to wirelessly charge as well.

OtterBox has impressed me once again with this very fine high-quality case! However, I am unimpressed that you no longer get an included kickstand/belt clip holster when you spend as much money as they charge for these things. For the 60 bucks that I paid I would’ve expected to get the belt clip holster and I have to go through the hassle of calling OtterBox so that they can ship me one upon my request. Yes, I get that these are MagSafe cases, and they were meant for the MagSafe accessories and having the belt clip will get in the way. However, I like the belt clip and I don’t carry any MagSafe accessory‘s with me when I am out of the house. Another thing is the exclusion of the built-in screen protector. They should really bring back some Customer choice here. I would not mind if there was a screen protector on my defender cases as I did in years past. This money grab of having to buy a case and a screen protector not to mention the cost of the phone is ridiculous. Oh well, the cases of good quality construction and has a very deep set list to keep your screen from contacting any tabletop surfaces that you might lay face down on. The rubber edging is very grippy, and does not fall from the hand at all. The magnets are strong and conduct well for MagSafe functionality. Additionally, there is a flap that inserts into the lightning port to keep dust and debris out. Slap an alpha glass screen protector on your screen with this case and you’ll be good for years to come.

I’ll start by saying I am an Otterbox fan… I have had one on my iPhone 8+ for years and it has protected my phone through SO much! I mean, small hands plus big phone equals so many drops and falls to gravel, pavement, wood flooring, etc. So, when I upgraded to an iPhone 13 Pro Max I am logically sticking with what works because I know nothing is going to change in terms of my graceful dexterity. I picked this because of the military drop rating and MagSafe component. It is simple in design, covers the charging port to keep lint and what-not out which is nice. I scored glass protector separately and am contemplating something to protect the camera lenses which are exposed… but note that the edging around the opening for the camera lenses protrudes further than the lenses themselves. So if the phone is flat on the table the lenses are not touching, just the case… so the only issue I see is if (well, for me really it’s when) the phone is dropped in gravel and a rock jams up in the lenses. I noticed a few reviews say this particular case is made for the iPhone 12 Pro Max and that it doesn’t quite fit their 13 Pro Max… I do not have that issue. It fits snuggly, the button covers are properly placed… possible user error there unless Otterbox has inconsistent manufacturing or I have a newer version where tweaks were made to accommodate the 13 Pro Max. All in all I trust the protection Otterbox offers, they have proven themselves time and time again with my old phone so I am willing to shell out a few extra bucks for a known brand that really works.
