Customers are impressed with the Otter + Pop Series case's protective qualities and how well it fits the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Many appreciate the ease of use and high-quality materials. However, some users experienced issues with the pop socket's durability and placement, and the case's interference with wireless charging capabilities was also a common concern.

I’ve had a lot of Otterbox cases with no issues until this one. The pop socket is placed a bit awkwardly for holding the phone. The real problem was less than two weeks into having my iPhone 12 Pro Max I dropped it from waist height with this case on and the back of my phone completely shattered and the camera housing has cracks in it as well.

Hello,
We're incredibly sorry to hear about the damage to your device while it was in an Otter + Pop Symmetry Series case. While our cases are tough, there are still some variables that can't be predicted. Though we aren't able to extend our warranty to the device itself, we'd be more than happy to get you a replacement case. Flimsy and not durable. Pop out piece not strong enough to support the phone. Instantly collapses. Would be nice if pop out did so a little more as I have fat fingers and they don’t fit between the case and the pop out. Would give zero to half star if possible.

Hi there!
We're sorry to hear about your disappointment with your Otter + Pop Symmetry Series case! While using that OtterBox as a stand, we usually suggest pulling the PopTop all the way out then angling one side up. This allows you to use the side that's still popped out as the stand for your phone. Additionally, we recommend having the camera-side of your phone down and close to the stable surface. We appreciate your feedback about the feeling of that case, and we'll be sure to get it passed up the ladder to our design team. If you run into any other issues with your case, please don't hesitate to reach out to our helpful Customer Service Team here: https://www.otterbox.com/en-us/contact-us

Defective- Had A Month

So my husband has had this case a little over a month, and it’s already broke. The popsocket part not only came out but broke so that it can’t go back in. He honestly hardly ever used the popsocket. I mean really, do you ever see men use them? I will be attaching pictures. Seems like a flawed, defective model. It actually broke about a week ago. We paid $65, the most I have EVER paid for a phone case so far. We threw the box away right after we put it on, but we do have receipt. Thinking about calling Otterbox or Best Buy customer service. Attaching pictures so hopefully someone can contact me! We’d just like money back to get something that doesn’t look ridiculous and moisture gets in from the back now!

I love this case, but I ended up returning it to get the Symmetry case without the Pop Socket because I wanted the MagSafe feature. This is the reason I didn’t give it five stars. If you are okay with not having wireless charging capabilities when using this case, then I highly suggest it. If you want to use wireless charging/MagSafe, then I would not suggest this case.

In order for it to charge wirelessly you have to take off the pop socket, it’s easy to but just an unnecessary obstacle to do whenever you put your phone in a wireless charging car mount. I returned mine and purchased the otter box defender. I got my $60 back and bought something that was on sale for 35.99 which seems to protect better as well.

Just okay. It protects the phone well and is well-made, but it’s expensive and the pop socket part doesn’t really extend for enough for a man’s fingers (IMO). It’s also just mediocre when using it horizontally, as a stand.

This case fits well but it is slick. It seems that it will slip from your hand if you do not hold it by the pop socket unlike previous versions. I do wish it had protection on the front like previous cases. So, I had to buy the front glass protector.

Great case and love the pop socket HOWEVER if you are buying it for the 12 and want to you the new charging feature it does not work at all. I had this case for my 11 and loved it. You should decide if you want the case or the cool charging feature before you buy this case.

Hi, Joe!
We're sorry to hear about your disappointment with your Otter + Pop Symmetry Series case! We're sorry to hear that you're not loving your Defender Series Pro case! While that case is compatible with Qi charging pads, it is not designed for optimal functionality with MagSafe accessories. Keep in mind, this case will perform best with OtterBox branded wireless chargers. That being said, we have a sizeable lineup of OtterBox cases that we designed specifically to interact with Apple's MagSafe ecosystem and that have been through our full gauntlet of tests to ensure they will still offer the protection OtterBox is known for. Check those out at Best Buy, Apple, or our website!

Seemed good. Hard to get on initially. I thought the pop acted as a stand/prop but my phone wouldn’t stay. This just wasn’t my cup of tea for a phone case.
I ultimately returned for refund.

Although I like Otterbox cases and I like pop sockets , this is a failure. If you hang the phone in a pop socket dashboard hook it flips upside down. The socket needs to be offset just a little to compensate for the weight problem

Hi Mark,
We're sorry to hear you've run into some trouble with your current Otter + Pop Series case.
Are you attempting to use it with one of the PopMount 2 accessories? Although we aren't able to test for use with all of the various third-party options, something from PopSockets current lineup should work just fine. For this specific case, we're handling things on the Otter side while PopSockets can better field questions and concerns about their specific component. That being so, we're including a link to their online Help Center for your reference.

Well..... The pop socket collapses under the weight of the phone when tryin to prop it up to watch a video in a "kickstand" mode. It also will not wireless charge even when the pop socket is removed. There is an Airgap between the phone and the back of the case that ruins wireless charging on my samsung fats charger. The charger works with two other cases. This one doesn't work with or without the popsocket on. This is just bad.

Hi there!
We're sorry to hear about your frustration with wireless charging in your Otter + Pop Symmetry Series case. While we do recommend removing the PopTop for the best charging functionality, we have also found some chargers tend to work better than others, so a different charging pad may work best for you. Additionally, we suggest OtterBox Power options for the absolute best charging experience with an OtterBox case. While using that OtterBox as a stand, we usually suggest pulling the PopTop all the way out then angling one side up. This allows you to use the side that's still popped out as the stand for your phone. Additionally, we recommend having the camera-side of your phone down and close to the stable surface. If you run into any other issues with your OtterBox, please don't hesitate to reach out to our Customer Service Team here: https://www.otterbox.com/en-us/contact-us

My wife did not like the pop. She wanted a ring on the back and we then opted to return and get a regular otterbox. Along with that we bought a Kate Spade ring for the back of it.

Had this case for my iPhone Xs Max before. I liked the integrated pop socket feature. My issue with the Xs max case was worse on the iphone 12 pro max case. The issue is that it doesn't stand up on it's own with the pop socket all the way out because the phone is too wide/large which makes the angle too sharp for it to hold itself up.
