For being an open otter box case, it offers a good amount of protection. There is quite a lip on there offering protection from drops. The battery pack is extremely easy to put on the case. It is just a little rough getting your phone in and out. You have to be forceful with it as the material is very stiff.

But there's 2 things about it that I'm not so sure about. 1. It's made by Otterbox, but it doesn't seem to have that classic rugged shell that most of their cases have. So I'm not so sure about how strong it really is in terms of protection. There's one way to find out, but I'm not willing to risk it yet. So I'll wait for an accident to find out I guess. 2. The slot in the back doesn't make much sense to me. I like that I can attach accessories to it, but it seems like it could have been designed better than it currently is.

I have to use card readers and infrared camera attachments for work and all other cases except this one have to be removed to plug the damned things in. Case is well built and protects from impact. Style points too, this new otter box is sleek.
