historically correct mixed with drama clint eastwood is great

Bought this movie for my Dad and he loved watching it

great addition to any dvd library, and when it was on sale for $5 I couldn't resist even though I've seen the movie several times on tv. I think this is one of the first of many movies with Sandra Locke, along with some other characters seen in future eastwood flicks (magnum enforcer, every which way but loose and subsequent sequels). The old indian delivers a great performance that is both genuine and comedic at times. the age old tale of revenge in the old west, a must see.

One of Clint Eastwood's best - as an actor and as a director. Great supporting cast. A very entertaining movie. One of the best "modern" Westerns. I like the digibook format. It's too bad they aren't made that much anymore.

This movie still stands the test of time. Directed by Clint and starring his usual "stable" of actors that appear in most of his films, this tale of a man who just can't let it go in the post-civil war west. Picking up stragglers on journey of revenge for those that murdered his family and those who betrayed him while trying to protect the innocent. Awesome bonus features too!

Clint Eastwood presents a post civil war drama that has something for everyone. The photography, the cast and the story will take you through a gamut of emotions ranging from extreme sadness to light humor. Eastwood has a knack for making the story true. A must see. You may not know it but some of the lines in this movie have become commonplace expressions today.

Clint Eastwood's sure-handed direction and wonderfully heart-aching performance lead this classic neo-Western and as usual, Eastwood casts the supporting parts perfectly with such vets as John Vernon and Chief Dan George. An American masterwork from a genuine no B.S. filmmaker with guns blazing.

I saw this originally with my father many years ago. It's just as good now as then! It is a little long (136 mins) but it doesn't fail to keep my attention. Not a lot of extras, but there is a "making of" that I had never seen. If you like gritty Clint Eastwood westerns then this movie should be on your list!

One of Clint Eastwood's best westerns. Not real thrilled with the part played by Sandra Locke because I don't think she's the best actress for that part, but aside from that, it's a great movie to see. If you like movies with rough and tough and sometimes witty comments then I think you'll like this 1976 old classic.

Well who doesn't like a good old fashioned Clint Eastwood western (star and director)? Came across this in the bargain bin at Best Buy and got it for under $5. It was just as good as I remember it from decades ago (1976). Take a trip down memory lane and buy this DVD.

I bought this movie for my mom and I, our favorite actor is Clint Eastwood. His role as Josey Wales has aways left me speechless, It's gritty, salty, and pure. Clint not only stared but also directed what has become of the best westerns of all time.

Apparently, there is a sequel to this movie which is the one that I saw when I was younger, but this one is pretty good. I enjoyed the humor, and the characters (especially the old indian). If you enjoy westerns, your time won't be wasted here.

A great movie to add to your Clint Eastwood Western collection. I am glad I found this classic in the store as I enjoyed watching it again.

You can't call yourself a Clint Eastwood fan without liking this gem! A great storyline and memorable one-liners make this classic western a "Must Own" by Eastwood. Now in Blu-Ray!! You can't go wrong! Beautifully remastered.

Gives some perspective on the end of the civil war, there were many who profited from the war and many for which it would never end. The movie correctly portrays the time period and the insanity that took place at wars end...

Outlaw Jose’s Wales is a fantastic example of the Western genre of films. I chose this movie as the first western movie for my non-US born wife to view. She was thrilled!

Ten bears and the rest of the real Indian cast make this such a great film. This DVD is one that must stay in near the DVD player. Any time it's on TV, turning the channel is not an option. Always have-to watch it.

Always liked this film. EASTWOOD AT HIS BEST. I know if you are a fan of his and have never seen this one you will enjoy it as much as the three Leone flicks. They stll hold up after 40 years.
