I like anything that can assist me in watching over my little ones and the ability to track their body metrics by an app is a bonus. Geeky? Maybe a little, but I could see this smart sock being used as a tool to detect something as dangerous as SIDS and alert you and that alone makes this gadget invaluable IMO. The smart sock, when paired with the camera, takes baby monitoring to a different level. Using the app is very intuitive and pleasant. Monitor your baby's vitals as well as a live video feed for further peace of mind. It's great to have both vitals and video feed in one single app. The camera takes it one step further by reporting room noise levels, temperature, and humidity. The app also uses these metrics to monitor your baby's sleep quality. The build quality is excellent. I was concerned the sock would not be well-made enough to withstand being put on and taken off day after day but the sock itself is modular. You add the sock sensor to the sock based on the age group of your baby. If your baby wears through a sock, I'd imagine you can buy a new one fairly inexpensive on the manufacturers site. This system works best with a mesh router setup as I have tried both ways.

This monitor gets my recommendation for its completeness and features. As a starting point, the device is easy to install. It was quick to download the app, plug everything in, and follow the step-by-step instructions in the app. The base install was about 10 minutes. There are a couple oddities in that the the camera connection to the WiFi shows as "fair" rather than good - even though the WiFi signal appears as very good for all other devices and apps running in the household. Occassionally there is notable lag from when there is motion in the crib and when the video streams via the app. There is feedback (screeching noise) on the app if the phone gets too close to the camera. That was a quick lesson learned. The camera mic is very sensitive - by default it picks up sound from across the house. Sensitivity adjustments seem to have helped. With that said, the picture quality is very good. And yes, the monitoring bracelet provides peace of mind. Overall, this one gets 5 stars for performance and features.

I've been enjoying owlet socks since my daughter was born almost 2 years. We have another little one on the way in a couple months and I'll be using an owlet sock on both kids for a little while. They work and offer a great peace of mind especially when your child is so tiny (arguably, we probably don't NEED to continue using a sock on our almost 2 year old but we do out of habit and it's nice to have the data it provides about how well she's been sleeping. The socks are usually pretty easy to set up. As long as your wifi settings are within the parameters. The last time I had some issues with a sock going offline for a bit happened to be because I got a new router and turned on dns over tls and the owlet sock didn't like that much. I'm not sure if this is still an issue since it's still turned off on my router. Other than that, as long as you're connecting to a 2.4ghz wifi network, you shouldn't have any issues setting up your sock. And it's pretty easy to just reset and repair the sock if you ever need to for any reason. You'll need an owlet account and the specific owlet dream app (instead of their other owlet app). I did notice that the app has been updated since the last owlet dream sock I had to include the O2 level again. This was something that got removed with the initial dream sock release but I was hopeful it would be restored with a software update and it looks like it has in the form of a 10 minute average. The socks are all great. I would recommend them to any new parent or any parent at all. It offers such a good peace of mind to know that if there's any striking issues with your child, you'll immediately know. False positives are really rare. Occasionally we'll need to fight with positioning for it to read correctly but that's not very often either. On to the camera. This is where things start to go downhill for me, sadly. I was excited to have a monitor that I could check on my phone instead of needing to carry around an extra screen when we put her to bed. I was even more excited when I saw how well thought out things were when I noticed that they included a bunch of modular wall channels so you can "hide" the power cable along the wall. They include enough to cover pretty much the entire length of the power cable which is also very long and very appreciated... Then I went to actually set up the camera. I spent a good hour trying to get it to connect to my wifi. The setup process seems simple. You give it your wifi information and it displays a QR code that you show to the camera and listen for a beep saying that it connected. In practice it was a real pain to work. After I couldn't get it to connect for an hour on my own, I called support and they told me that the QR code might not be translating one of the special characters in my wifi password correctly and that I would need to change my wifi password to get it to work. I reluctantly tried this on a second wifi extender and finally got the password to work after removing all special characters and spaces from the password. But now, when the app tried to finalize the setup and add the camera to our account, it failed at the end. After more than 1 try, I called support again and got a very helpful person and eventually got it linked to my account. Oddly enough, after hanging up, I tried resetting my wifi password back to what it was and setting up the camera again and it worked this time. I'm not sure if there was a firmware update (if there was, it happened very quickly) or if I was just getting a lot better at getting the camera to see the QR code. Either way, after more than 2 hours of messing around with it, I finally got it set up on my wifi correctly. The camera does work pretty well except that it takes a little bit of time to load up when your launch the app sometimes. The app says the wifi signal is good so I'm not sure what the problem is. Sometimes it loads pretty quick (couple seconds) and sometimes it takes closer to 10-15 seconds. Picture quality is alright. It's nothing to write home about but it gets the job done. It sometimes has the ability to see pretty OK without turning on night vision in the bedroom with a nightlight on which any other camera wasn't able to do. I would have loved the ability to move and pan the camera in the app but the camera does get a large enough view that I don't really need to move it around. The app includes a few camera specific options that are nice. You can set up notifications for motion, sound, temperature and humidity so you get alerts when something moves or makes sound or when the environment falls outside of the ranges you specify are OK (their defaults are a little silly, but it's all adjustable). These notifications are account-wide so anyone logged into the owlet account will get them. The nice thing is there's a few quick options right on the home screen of the owlet app that let you turn off notifications on just that device if you want. You can also adjust the video quality of the camera (defaults to automatic) and you can specify the audio to either be on (default) while the app is open, off, or background which is nice to keep playing the audio while you do other things on your phone and/or lock it. I have experienced a time when the background audio cut out though. Still a nice feature to have. All in all, these owlet products are still pretty great. The camera's setup process really soured me on the whole thing but I'm sure I'll get over it and there's a good chance you won't have any issues. The support people I talked to were very nice and the second person I talked to was very helpful (instead of just telling me that I'll probably have to change my wifi password). I still think the socks are amazing for the peace of mind that they give you while your kids are asleep. The camera is nice because it's integrated into the same app but you do lose that ability to quickly glance at the camera whenever you want like you can when you have a separate monitor device. It takes a few seconds to check now. I think I'd recommend the owlet sock but say that the camera doesn't really do anything that cheaper alternatives do aside from being accessed from your phone. So if that's important to you, get this bundle. Otherwise maybe just get a sock.

This is my second child but the nerves and worries are just as bad as the first baby. I've used several different baby monitors and sleep tracking devices but this one really takes the cake. The sock works in and out of bed, even if they are contact napping. It doesn't have to be in sight of a camera to track sleep quality and heart rate. The alerts if the sock falls off aren't obnoxious unlike some others I've tried. I love the app that offers suggestions for sleep quality and adapts to your personal choices when it comes to sleep training or not. I struggled a bit to get the sock paired initially so that may be a concern if you use a new internet router. But the app was able to help me trouble shoot and get set up quickly. Battery life is excellent. I'd highly recommend this to any new parent. The camera is so crystal clear. This is the best camera of any monitor I've tried. I love the recent addition of breathing tracking like the older models had. The app is so straight forward and just gives you the information in an organized way. And now with the addition of a larger sized sock to extend the ability to track I can't think of anything to improve.

The Owlet Dream Duo is a nice little combo which include the absolutely fantastic Owlet smart Sock, and a very nice HD baby monitor camera. However, somewhat bewildering to me, there is no separate monitor unit. It is strictly a wifi cam which you check and monitor on your smart phone. This is not the most useful to me, and I would suspect most parents that are interested in the Owlet. I would prefer a separate monitor unit that is always on and I can easily hear if my baby makes a noise or is in trouble. I don't like having to depend on hearing a notification or something in the middle of the night. Not to mention, I like to turn off my notifications at night so I'm not woken up by the stray spam text or email or something. There's just numerous reasons I don't want my baby monitor dependent on my smart phone or tablet. It really should have a dedicated monitor unit. That being said, the actual camera is very nice, works really well, and has some nice features. It's just hard to recommend without a separate monitor unit. Now, onto the sock, this is my second owlet smart sock, and it is still a really great product and works really well. MMy first baby was a NICU baby, so having the smart sock for when he came home definitely gave us great peace of mind. Our second baby wasn't a NICU baby, but we still love having the sock. It gives great insight into how he sleeps, and still gives piece of mind that we'll know if something happens that we may not hear on the monitor. All in all, it is a really great product that will give you piece of mind. In conclusion, the Owlet Dream Duo combo is a bit hard for me to recommend, simply because the camera's use is questionable without a separate monitor. I really don't like having to rely on my phone or tablet. However, the Smart Sock is an absolutely fantastic product that I have no issue recommending.

Owlet brings back the beloved oxygen sensing !

This will be the third version of the Owlet sock we've had the pleasure of using and this new version brings back a similar feature that the first had but the second was lacking. That is the ability to monitor the oxygen saturation or in this version its referred to as "Average 02" over a certain period of time. It still keeps an eye on your baby's heart rate as in other versions. The app gives you sleep movement, duration of your baby's sleep time, number of times they wake up which all contribute to his or her quality of sleep. Much like my smart watch does for me it measures the 4 stages of sleep awake, light, deep, and rem, they use a range meter from active to peaceful. From our usage it seems pretty accurate. The app has some pretty cool features that gives you prompts depending on your baby's level of sleep or alertness. If your baby isn't sleeping well they have a feature called the "sleep assist" which will send you a notification and the base blinks a purplish color and plays music. It also has a guide and tips to help you with sleep patterns and routines so that your baby gets the best sleep possible with the least stress on you. The best part of this version is that it comes with an HD Camera with night vision, temperature sensor so that you can actually see a fairly accurate room temperature in that app as well. It has a two way capability so that you can hear the room that it's placed in and have the ability to talk to your little from your phone to the camera through the app. It has a 130 degree wide viewing angle with a 4x digital zoom by pinching or spreading on your screen. It does connect through WiFi and the clarity is actually pretty good for what the camera itself is. It also comes with these concealment tracks to hide and also protect the wires from being tampered with by your little one and makes the install much more neat rather than having wires hanging all over the place. As I said before I'm definitely a fan of the Owlet brand and I would recommend this to others for peace of mind with their little ones.

This new technology is so awesome!! I'm a new grandmother and having our new grandson spend the night at our house was so exciting but also worried me. Would I hear him in the night? Would I be able to sleep without worrying all night? What is he was having breathing issues? How would I know how well he slept? Oh so many things went thought my head as I tried to prepare! Then I did some research and found this Owlet Dream Sock with monitor and my nerves would put to ease. With the help of my daughter (grandson's mom) she was able to help me get it all set up prior to having a sleep over. We downloaded the app onto my phone and I found it very user freindly. It walked my though all the steps and I was able to ALL the functions of the product before putting it to use. I practiced putting the sock onto my grandson and saw that it was simple and comfortable on him. My husband installed the camera near the crib and it gave us a complete view of the whole crib - clear in a dark room! When the night finally came I was excited and at ease! We charged the sock on the base station during the day and placed it on our grandson at bedtime (easy Velcro fasteners). Once our grandson was asleep we could see and hear everything in his room while we were down a long hallway in our room. Thankfully the alarm on the sock never went off but love knowing that it would alert me if ever needed. After sleeping soundly - only waking when we heard our grandson crying - we were able to view his sleep pattern on the app. How cool is that!!!! I truly believe this product will save lives and allow parents and grandparents like me know their precious babies are safe in the night. SO WORTH THE EXPENSE- a life is priceless!

I've loved Owlet since our first child and the level of info we get about our baby's sleep quality is unmatched by any other company. I was so excited to try the newest version of Owlet with the camera to see if it was much of an improvement. Overall I'm very impressed with the quality of Owlet and am glad to use it as our primary baby monitor. The sock is very simple and unassuming. Owlet has really improved the sock and how easy it is to put on your baby's foot. A few velcros and you are ready to go. The fabric used on the sock is very soft and don't think it irritates our baby at all. Connecting the sock is dead simple, it pairs directly with the base station that you can keep in your room and the app will walk through every step of the process. Overall I love the app and how well it makes use of both the smart sock and the camera. The sensors in the sock give us great information on whether our baby is sleeping, their heart rate, average O2. That paired with the ability to see exactly how she sleeps via the camera is amazing. The provided base station works great by sending visual queues via alerts to let you know if you need to check on your baby. I will say I miss the older base stations ability to give a red alert if it found issues in heart rate or o2 levels. But I understand this was an issue with FDA regulations that required the company to remove. The insights the app provides is great, the app will track sleep quality and let you know if there are ways you can help you baby get better sleep. Overall I really love the insight that owlet provides and gives me much more peace of mind on my baby's sleep routine.

Sock is great, camera has some issues

The Owlet Dream Duo is a baby monitoring system composed of two parts (plus the app), one HD camera and one sock monitor. I've got some prior experience with the sock and so knew what to expect there. What excited me about the Duo was the pairing of the camera with the app. This means I'd have a baby monitor camera that I could access from anywhere in the house over wifi. While handheld monitor systems are nice and I like my current one, the big downside is needing to keep yet another device charged and needing to keep track of the monitor. With a phone accessible camera, I can just use the device which will be near to hand most of time time and easy to find when it's not. Unboxing, the camera looks nice and sleek. It's not babified so it's looks pretty much like any other camera you may have doing some home monitoring. Getting things setup with my wifi went pretty quickly with the app and the camera quality was great. Positioning the camera however had some issues. There's no pan/tilt on the camera so you are relying on it's great field of view to compensate for furniture or other room issues that may prevent you from placing it such that baby is in direct line of sight. Once you figure out placement, things are mostly good though there's a strange issue - consistent wireless connection. It seems strange but just like my regular non-wifi wireless baby monitor, this one has some connection issues where it randomly disconnects. I'd expect a solid connection from a wifi based camera - especially given that home monitoring systems tend to be pretty reliable in that regard. The sock sensor worked well - as expected. It's pretty easy to put on and adjust and gives you heart rate and oxygen levels. The app doesn't directly tell you if there's an abnormal heart rate or change in O2, but it will prompt you that baby's sleep has been disturbed and you can then see what the heart rate and oxygen levels were at the time the disturbance was detected. Otherwise, you get some movement and noise analytics to help start putting together a picture of baby's sleep routine. And you still get the sleep coaching offered through the app. Overall, my score is a 3. The sock + app combo definitely is a solid 4 stars, but the camera limitations and connection issues brings down my overall rating for the Duo. Hopefully, this is something that can be fixed via an over-the-air update versus being a design flaw with the camera.

This is the combo set that includes a baby cam along with the owlet sock. This will combine the data you get from the sock about your baby’s biometrics along with the video feed of them in their bed. We have used the sock by itself with our other children, but it is nice to finally be able to have the sock metrics along with the video feed all in the same app now. This is baby number 7 for us, so we have tried several different monitors over the years. I definitely like all the data you get with the Owlet. And now I am enjoying the video also being part of the same system now. The camera is HD1080p, 130 degree viewing, 4x zoom, and Wifi connectivity. With this system you will get monitoring of baby heart rate, wakings, oxygen levels, room temperature, humidity, and noise levels. So you get quite a bit of data. You can track baby’s sleep trends. This is a must have for any parent. In today’s technology age we are used to getting data nearly instantly. And this combined system now gives you data about your baby sleeping in real time. The sock is comfortable, made from a nice and is easy to put on the baby. Charging is easy as well. The materials are all good quality.

Set this up for my nephew, his first time and his first time dad. Let me start by saying they sleep a lot better now. Way better than they did before. This is a great gift if your gift giving and a wonderful gift to have. If you just one of those parents. It's okay to be one of those parents. The camera was easy to install and set up to the Wi-Fi. You just had to work with where to put it. Even though the camera has a wide shot, it's all about placement. So you cover all the area you want and see all you want. Now the sock. Goes easily around my nephew's foot. He didn't care for it at first but put them in some onesie footy pajamas and he seem to be ok. Once sleep the parents mellowed out and got some good sleep themselves. The app was easy to find and install. Seems to work just as good on Apple and Android. One didn't work better than the rest. After a week we see where nephew may need to go to bed sooner and a little more relaxed. Levels read very well, at the pediatrician was pleased the new parents took such efforts to get nephew on a good sleep schedule and let us know this will pay big in his future.

The Owlet - Dream Duo: Dream Sock Baby Monitor and HD Camera brings safety and security to the nursery and to your baby's sleep. Owlet brings innovative technology to the classic baby monitor and baby monitor. The Owlet smartphone app allows you to monitor baby's sleep and activities while in the other room without the need for constant checking in and disturbing them to wakefulness. We found the Owlet - Dream Duo to be the perfect tool for our new grandson. Our family has reunited under one roof and our daughter is a new, young mother with an infant. She has found this baby monitor to be a huge peace of mind for her. The baby has just now begun sleeping longer and the foot wrap allows her to monitor his movements and the HD camera gives her access to view him without disrupting his sleep. PROS - Owlet's innovation and design - High Definition camera with magnetic base and multiple angles - Owlet app is user-friendly and full of useful features - The foot sock (available in 2 sizes for growth) allows additional data and alerts CONS - None at this time

If you want people to buy this product then bring the price down. It is unaffordable. This IS for babies!!! It's like saying sorry you can't afford to protect your baby by buying this monitor. It's just wrong to gouge parents when they need the money for baby food and formula. This is simply not that high tech to justify the gouge.

This was a gift to my goddaughters parents' for her 1 month birthday. As a previous experience with the Owlet sock, it still needs to be super fit and snug on the baby's foot, otherwise you will be repeatedly getting false alarms about the baby's vitals. This gets a little annoying because my goddaughter seems to get a little irritated with it when its too tight. Here are a few pros and cons: PROS App is simple to use Monitors all vitals such as heart rate, and blood oxygen Gives piece of mind with the rise in SIDS cases Good battery life Clear, HD video feed CONS The sock is NOT waterproof fyi It seems to only work need the base and on the same wifi --- so this is home use only basically The sock needs to come off when not sleeping; otherwise it is constant false notifications Because the product is no longer FDA approved, the App Store refuses to provide the app, completely defeating the purpose unless you have Android(Play store). You can get the web version, but it doesn't alert your phone the way Play store does. You basically just get an email; I want the app notification instead. The package of the video monitor, and the vitals monitor is definitely providing piece of mind, especially as some close friends just lost their baby to SIDS recently. We feel good that the baby's vitals are always being monitored, especially as we sleep. If you don’t mind the false nuisance alarms that come with the ability to always monitor your baby's vitals, then this is a must have and a good investment; but only if you have an Android phone to connect it to.
